I came here for the first time since it was Hansel and Griddle just a few days ago. I was browsing DoorDash and saw potato wedges and I was sold. I was not expecting the food to be so good. Portions are HUGE. One quesadilla feeds 2 of us, which is a great value with a family of 8. The buffalo chicken quesadilla is fantastic. The potato wedges are delicious. Since the first time a week ago,I've ordered 2 more times! The only reason for the 4 stars is that the delivery times often slightly exceed the estimated time, but it's definitely worth the wait. I assume that people are piling in for lunch from the courthouse which are bringing the wait times up a bit, and the weekend delivery didn't have the issue. Like others have said, it is more of a sandwich / salad / snack kind of place, seating varies from two seat high tops, low tables and chairs/benches, and high bar stools by the windows. The quality of the food is very inconsistent, though it is definitely a solid take out if you're looking for fast food with more options. I love that I can pretty much order something new every time I look through the menu. Others I order with tend to pick the SAME thing every time. Maybe when I find my absolute favorite that'll be me, too. I agree with others that the location in New Brunswick is more reliably consistent. I will most definitely be ordering from them again and again. This is my go to place when ordering delivery. They are super fast and friendly and deliver to both Manville and Bridgewater! The food is on point, My normal order consists of one of their crisps (BBQ chicken is my fav) and tots. FYI there is a $1.25 delivery fee. I placed my order @ 1:59pm and was told 30-45mins of arrival and they arrived @ 2:30pm on the dot. Our (my Ladee's and I) order consisted of an "Create Your Own" omelet which is served with a side of tater tots, French toast which comes with butter and syrup, chicken bacon ranch panini, an order of honey BBQ wings (8 piece) which is served with blue cheese and can be substituted as my Ladee always does for ranch, and lastly a French onion soup. I know a lot but we were gearing up for a rainy Sunday at home! They are NEVER stingy with their napkins, forks, spoons, and knives. Nor their condiments which I appreciate. Quality fresh food is what was served this afternoon and every time we order from them. Food was hot and delicious. Some may say they are pricey but you get what you pay for! I came to their Somerville location and ordered an original chicken sandwich w/ lettuce and honey mustard (as I was trying to eat relatively healthy that day). The guy at the register was patient with me as I scanned the menu and asked a few questions. My food was out in 5 minutes. Decent price for a pretty big sandwich! I was pleased with the food. There is metered street parking - pay the meter! My boyfriend and I saw the raving reviews and decided to check out this tiny restaurant. I ordered the omelet with bacon and swiss cheese and my boyfriend ordered the French toast and homefry egg and cheese. The omelet I had was average and wasn't something I'd go back for. It tasted a little overcooked, but the filling was substantial. My boyfriend's French toast was definitely undercooked though because the eggs were still gooey and raw when he cut into the French toast. When we explained that we couldn't eat the French toast because the egg was still raw, the cashier just took the French toast back without giving us another one or returning the money. He was also underwhelmed by the homefry egg and cheese which he explained were just "plain potatoes and eggs" as he didn't taste any Cajun seasoning in it. We were a bit disappointed in our experience and don't plan to give this place a second try. I gave two stars for the location and the creativity of the name though. read more

After hearing and reading how good Hansel 'n Griddle was, it was time to finally visit. Unfortunately, at least in our experience, it was quite underwhelming. My burger-loving son had...wait for it...a burger. He said it was dry and rated it "C minus, if that." I had a balsamic chicken wrap which would more accurately be described as a dry wrap with lots of lettuce, some tomato, a few bits of chicken, and some balsamic to give it *some* taste. My spouse had a BLT wrap, and one half the wrap had a tiny strip of turkey bacon that was about 3" x 1/4" wide. These three "meals" and drinks ran $30. Prices would have been fair for better fare, so the most I can award is two stars. No plans to return, especially with so many options a short distance away. read more

Went a couple of weeks ago with some friends for a late breakfast/early lunch. I got a breakfast wrap that was supposed to have "cajun" home fries, but there didn't seem to be any seasoning at all. Hardly any egg or cheese, so it was like sliced potatoes in a wrap. My friends said their food was just "ok", but nothing to go out of your way for. Service wasn't bad, but just like the food, it was bland. The guy behind the counter mumbled when he talked, and showed no enthusiasm in his job. I had to ask him to repeat himself and he just continued to mumble. There was a help wanted sign in the window, so maybe they were looking to replace him. They are usually really fast to deliver and on an occasion where they were not I received a decent amount of updates to let me know they didn't forget about me and that my food would soon be arriving. It's also neat that you can add up points from ordering there and redeem them for things like smoothies. You can also customize pretty much any salad or sandwich you want. Also nice is that you do not have to speak to a human throughout the ordering process (although they are nice to speak to when I have done so) - you can do everything online and the online ordering system is easy to use. Tried this place out today for the 1st time. No one else was there when I walked in, that should have been my 1st clue that it wasn't a great choice for breakfast. I was kindly greeted. Service was friendly. My breakfast wrap did not look appetizing and did not taste great. Felt like I was just eating a flour tortilla. There was a fried egg inside (I had to look because I couldn't taste it), some melted cheese that wasn't great and I couldn't taste the tomato. The menu did look good, lots of choices. I'm so surprised I never review this place! I eat here weekly if not a few times a week. They deliver so it's usually delivered right to my office! It's awesome! 90% of the things I've tried I LOVE! My favorite is the chicken Cobb salad and the chicken ranch bacon panini. So great! Their balsamic dressing and ranch dressing is homemade and so delicious!
