Excellent. Brisket was tender and smoky. Pulled pork a good crust. Sauces are mild. Owner and staff were friendly and the service was quick. Mike needs more parking space. But that's a golden headache. Got a good thing going. read more

Wow, some of the best pulled pork I've had in my life. It was as tender as pot roast and oh so good. Stop here and you will not regret it!

Compliments to the pit master, best thing in key largo. Wondering how I'm going to eat anything else on this trip now.

I live in homestead and started working in the keys.. I've driven to the keys all the time for some fresh seafood and passed this bbq food truck. Let me tell you i'll be driving to the keys for real deal BBQ now too... it's got be the best bbq i've had in south Florida period.... The quality of the ingredients are great.. they do have 3 bbq sauces on the table but in all honesty you don't need them.. We were looking for something fast and saw the food truck on Yelp so decided to give it a try. I love BBQ and am always nervous about trying BBQ outside of the usual great BBQ places. I live in Kansas City and we have lots of great places. I also judge BBQ contests so am a bit particular about BBQ. Overall thought this place was very good. The brisket was very good and would get that again. The ribs were not very meaty and just needed to cook a bit longer, but there was a great flavor. The beans and Mac & Cheese were very good and recommend them. If you are looking for BBQ this is as good as it gets in the area. They also had some nice outside dining. read more

Fireeeee spot right on the side of the road. Brisket, mash, chicken, saucy, sweet, spicy. Everything you'd want from a BBQ place after a long day on the water in Key Largo . read more

Mike's BBQ 101 - Brisket, half chicken, Mac n cheese, potato salad. - Food Trucks Near Me - Key Largo, Florida

SWEET LORD BABY JESUS!! It's been hard to find mac n cheese this good even down here in the south! That alone is worth the review. But wait... the brisket is good. The pulled pork is good. The sausage is good... even the corn bread. Your choice of jalapeño corn bread too! like what kind of options are these?! Is this heaven on earth? Holy cow!!! That reminds me... The ribs: also very good. Oh and before I forget to mention, 3 incredible sauces. Carolina, Sweet and Hot. Try them all. On top of all that, I've been coming here for a few months on my lunch breaks and I have to say, they are always unbelievably fast even with a few people in line. I can't express how nice of a quality that is. I'd say worth every penny too! Leave a tip in the jar. It's good karma! Stop here for Lunch in Key Largo. You're welcome. It's a hidden gem. A little red food truck parked outside of Dolphins Plus. Yes, you can swim with dolphins, stay at the resort bayside where the sun sets ANNNND have amazing Barbecue IN THE KEYS! Surrounded by fish! So. For all you folks looking for "not-fish," -- as if that is a food group............... This one's for you. The mac n cheese is good fresh, cold AND reheated. Now that's some macaroni and cheese! DeeeeeeLicious! A must stop when you are in the Key Largo area near Mile Marker 101 (101900 Overseas Highway, Bayside at the entrance to Dolphins Plus - swim with the dolphins). We were on our way to a showing and drove by and noticed the big red truck and sign for BBQ...the smell lingered along also...and the fact that all of the tables under the shade tent were filled at 3:15 in the afternoon....so we decided that we would come back to get a late lunch before we headed home. We are so glad we did! The first thing you notice as you pull up the the Food Truck is the glorious smell of the BBQ that makes your mouth water with anticipation! It did not disappoint. The special today was 1/2 rack of ribs, 2 sides and cornbread for $14.99. A bargain in Keys prices. The servings were generous - 2 of us split one and were full! The owners served us. Service with a smile and a friendly conversation! The 1/2 rack of ribs came with 7 fall off the bone, tasty ribs. No need for sauce, however Mike (and Steve - a regular who was behind me) insisted we try the Carolina Gold. Great recommendation...spicy, sweet and just enough to add that extra flavor. The Mac & Cheese and the Coleslaw did not disappoint either! Fresh and delicious! We can't wait to go back and will definitely be telling our friends, family and customers about Mike's BBQ 101. It is a must stop on Overseas Highway! Try it...you'll love it! read more

The speed you get your food is incredible. It takes like 2 minutes. I was never a BBQ fan, but the food is incredibly good. They give you enough food for 2 meals for less than $20. The staff are super nice and understanding. My only real problem with this place is that you eat outside with no air conditioning. But you can always eat in your car. I would highly recommend coming here if you want food quick or if you want the best BBQ in the state. read more

Nestled on the bayside of US1 at MM101 is the best BBQ food truck in the Florida Keys. Their brisket sandwich is a killer, super moist and tasty with sweet bbq sauce. Don't let the fact that this is food trailer fool you, they are legit, they know how to smoke, grill. Nuff said. read more

We had the beef brisket and pork ribs with corn bread, Mac n cheese, beans and coleslaw. The meat was tender; and flavorful! Mac and cheese was "cheesy" goodness; corn bread was moist and tasty; beans with chunks of meat in it; coleslaw crunchy; perfect balance between sweet and tangy. BBQ sauces were excellent, enjoyed the original, spicy and Carolina one! We really enjoyed our lunch! Reasonably priced, owners were super friendly! A great find on our vacation! Glad we stopped by! read more

I really enjoyed having lunch here. I didn't have any meat, as I love baked beans, mac and cheese, and coleslaw. Even when I was staying in Homestead, I would take a trip down to Key Largo and eat here. It was worth the 35 minute drive. Great food and a few tables to sit down and relax at. read more

Yes! This place is absolutely the best BBQ I have had in forever! The ribs were so tender and the homemade sauces are so flavorful. The beans are Smokey with the right amount of sweetness. And I could eat an entire meal of the Mac and Cheese if given the option. The owner is so friendly and welcoming. The parking is easy. If you are not familiar with Key Largo, it is located in front of Dolphins Plus. I did read a sign that said "open until 6 or until we run out." It was fairly busy when I stopped, rightfully so. But keep that in mind when you stop. read more

Meats were delicious. Pulled pork was very good! Smoked sausage was awesome! Smoked chicken was excellent!

Amazing bbq! If I could give it 10 stars I would. Juicy, tender chicken...not dry. The baby back ribs were amazing. I got a taste of the brisket and I was salivating. I couldn't wait to get to the house to eat our takeout. Definitely going back again...and maybe again. read more

Lots of delicious food for a great price! I'm so glad we decided to stop by and check it out :)

While the Keys has great seafood, Mike's is a great stop if you're in the mood for some good BBQ. We had ribs, brisket, sausage and pulled pork. All were solid. Brisket had good bark and was tender. Ribs were flavorful without sauce and came easily off the bone. Sausage was juicy with a little kick. Pulled pork was tender. Sides (baked beans, Mac & cheese and slaw) were very good. Friendly service too! DEFINITELY will be back. read more

This place is a Gem. Mike really cares about his craft and is willing to educate customers on any questions they have about BBQ - he mentioned mentorship from a Texas pitmaster - as well as experience at another well known BBQ joint. I've also never gotten a 2 meat combo at such a great price $13.99 (for the same quality NY BBQ it may cost close to double). The best part about this experience was we went towards the end of the day - and all of the food was extremely delicious and fresh still (many bbq places do not store correctly and quality deteriorates over the course of the day) The brisket was extremely tender and moist and able to hold its form - Not pre-cut. It is a must get The ribs were so easy to detach from the bone with so much flavor but again perfectly in tact - fall off the bone with a bite not fall off the bone cause you touched it (which is perfect to me) The Mac n cheese was delicious with a little special topping that the chef created (had some chips n other seasonings ) The baked beans were delicious - little bits of beef in the mix. The party I was with had a wonderfully delicious chicken (though I was unable to try) - though was able to try the pulled pork, which was melt in your mouth though thicker/not fully shredded. Best part was it was not saucy!! - sign of confidence in method. The sauces were delicious - had options of Carolina gold, "traditional" and a hot sauce I'd go back in a heartbeat - it is a must try in the Keys if you are into BBQ. Make sure to go before they sell out!! read more

Let me say this is some of the BEST BBQ I have ever eaten. Being from Texas, as well as traveling to KC and Memphis numerous times, I've had great variations of BBQ. This place is at the top. The sides are delicious and cold drinks are available. They have a nice little covered area to sit and enjoy your food. Music is played lightly in the background and the service was amazing. Very friendly and personable. Come swim with the Dolphins at Dolphins Plus and then enjoy a meal here when you're done. It's in the same parking lot! read more

I was at Mikes BBQ 10 minutes ago with my girlfriend to get some bbq to go. Once on site I could just smell the smoke and knew this was going to be great. BBQ is my favorite food and Mikes did not disappoint. I ordered a 2 meat platter. Brisket and pulled pork is ALWAYS my go to. Mike was onsite and informed me that he was low on brisket and said that he had some smoking but it would take some time. He offered to upgrade my platter to 3 meat and threw in ribs. Perfect! I got to try the trifecta of BBQ: Ribs, brisket, and pork. I could go into detail about each individually but I will spare that and simply say Mikes exceeded expectations. Sides were great. Baked beans, potato salad (the best of the ones I tried. ), and Mac and cheese were all top tier. Corn bread was incredible. All sauces were good. The Carolina mustard bbq was my favorite though. Thanks for the ribs and extra sauce Mike! Keep it up! read more

By far the best BBQ in the USA! The brisket is to die for and the pulled pork is nothing short of absolutely fantastic! I wish I could put in to words how good this place is. Mike is extremely knowledgeable and passionate and a pleasure to talk with. I have been here quite a few times (I come as often as I can) and I have never been let down. Best bbq I've had I a while. Every time we come to the keys (which is often) we eat fish. Do yourselves a favor and stop at this food truck and eat their delicious food. We had the pulled pork, Mac & cheese, coleslaw and corn bread. We are In Heaven. read more

Hungry and in the Keys, I quickly stopped for a bite to eat at this food truck. The service was great. The lady helping us got out to help us examine the menu and chatted it up with us. She was great! I misunderstood the menu when it gave an option between the sandwich and plate. I understood it would be a sandwich with two sides of my choice. So instead of a pulled pork sandwich, I got pulled pork on the plate. Everything seemed heavy on the mustard which I'm sure some people may love. The food was decent, but just not my cup-of-tea for BBQ. NOW the mac and cheese and corn bread was delicious! read more

Fantastic!!! We had the pulled pork sandwich and Mac and cheese and wow! Not one piece of fat in the pulled pork// the Carolina sauce and coleslaw was the perfect touch to the sandwich. Best BBQ in Monroe Super clean/ great hospitality/ Awesome food !!! read more

From Texas I may be a bit of a BBQ snob. Oh well. In FL and the food truck was near where we were staying and wanted some Q. I was pleasantly surprised how tender the brisket was. However kind of a mini-sandwich with chips, a 2 bite cup of cole slaw and a drink for $I3. I was hungry but hindsight I would've spent a few bucks more and get a full meal next time. read more

Mikes BBQ definitely deserves 5 stars! The food is mouthwatering good and the best part is that Mike uses grass fed beef that's raised without any hormones or antibiotics. Most food trucks out there are serving decent good tasting food but mikes bbq is the first I've seen using the highest quality meat for their bbq. We tried the brisket which had SO much flavor! It has alot of fat though so if that's an issue I would go with the pulled pork which was amazing too. I also consider myself somewhat of a mac n cheese connoisseur & theirs did not disappoint! It was creamy cheesy & smoky. I'm getting hungry again just reminiscing about it. read more
