Enough seafood, give me some bbq! Mike's has great food for a great price especially when you compare it to some of the local seafood restaurants. I loved the texture of both the ribs and brisket. Perfect smoky taste as well. I was a fan of their spicy bbq sauce. Service was quick and the covered benches were a nice place to enjoy the food.

Best bbq in the keys! Was amazing and haven't had this good of bbq since the last time I was in Texas. The truck workers/owners were very kind and helpful, not afraid to advocate for how good there ribs are... and they were right! Very nice outdoors seating with tables and shade. Would recommend stopping by anytime you have the chance.

Fantastic BBQ Food truck in key largo. Can't go wrong with anything you order at this joint. Normally get the pulled pork platter and Mac n cheese. Highly recommend

The food was delicious!!!! We couldn't get enough of it! The customer service was also top notch, they even brought some water for our fur baby. Portions are sufficient for two, you will have enough food left for after. Parking is next to the road.

All these years of coming to the Keys and I've yet to try this place out! I didn't even know it existed until my bf said let's go get the best bbq you've had so far (I had high expectations especially since I had literally just came from Austin!). There was a lady that took our order who was super sweet and the guy (I guess is the owner) who prepared our food. Our order was ready so quick!! Amazinggg. They have a bunch of picnic tables on the side so you can sit and eat your food. They have many options to chose from, we got the one meat which came with 2 sides. We ordered the pork ribs which was super tender and flavorful with the perfect rub. And we go the Mac and cheese and baked beans. The Mac and cheese sooo creamy and had a little kick to it with chili. And the cornbread was not dry and has the perfect moisture. Definitely coming back without a doubt!

So this is a food truck (with plenty of picnic tables to sit at) southbound in Key Largo! The ladies taking the order were very nice and welcoming. The owner (I assume) also came out while we were eating to make sure everything was ok. So, about the food. We had the brisket sandwich, Cole slaw, and the potato salad with sweet cornbread (also had jalapeño as an option) The brisket was great. Very tender and not overly salty. Had 3 sauces to choose from. (Wish the spicy would have had a stronger kick, but good nonetheless). Cole slaw had a great flavor and whatever they season the potato salad with (maybe some cilantro) tasted great. Real BBQ is tough to find, but this one was beyond solid. Will def stop again since we are frequent keys goers.

The best food in Key Largo! We have been coming here for years and have struggled to find great food in this area. That was of course until we found Mikes BBQ. Brisket is incredible, ribs smacked, and the sausage. All the sides were incredible. My favorite was the Mac and cheese and potatoe salad! Wonderful service as well! Very causal but sooo delicious.

We found this place while driving around, and it's a solid bbq spot that can compete with places in Texas. We ordered some sausage, brisket, corn bread, mac' n cheese and potato salad. The sausage had a nice crispy casing, spice and smokey flavor. The brisket was moist and fell apart in your mouth. The corn bread was moist and tasted great. The mac' n cheese was creamy, and the potato salad had a good flavor. There are a few picnic tables under a tent. If you're in the area and want bbq this is probably the best spot.

But it is worth the detour. We sat at the bar, inside, with a view of the kitchen and cook, but I'd recommend sitting outside if it's not too hot and weather permits. That's a much better view. We started with their fried asparagus appetizer. The stalks were quite thin, and the portion small, but what we had was delicious. Especially tasty when dipped in the horseradish sauce. I'd get this again! After that we shared their fish dish. Two scoops on a plate with chopped tomatoes, chopped onions, and chopped green pepper. The cutest heart shaped crackers came with the dip. We had leftover dip so we took it home with us (in our cooler). We enjoyed it on toast later on. So the very good? The food. The not so good? The kitchen looked grungy and the ladies room was a mess. Would we come here again? Yes, but we'd sit outside.

Next up was the in house smoked fish dip, two large generous scoops, crackers, diced green bell peppers. Tomatoes and onions. A tasty combination. Rustic atmosphere and smiling bartender makes you feel at home. If you sit at the bar, just try not to look into the kitchen.

Not sure if it's because we are a large party 10 or more, or what? Our last visit was a Sunday evening in early July . We ate outside. Waiter was good at getting water out to everyone. But when it came to drink orders we must have waited 15-20 minutes for him to take our drink orders. I had to ask him to take my appetizer order. We had to ask several times for our drinks - soft drinks- not alcoholic. They were not good at cleaning our dirty appetizer plates away after delivering dinner leaving the table crowded. I think what I found most annoying was watching our server and another server standing around while we were waiting for drinks, for order taking, for refills, etc. There was just no attention being paid to us. Maybe the guy was new? Not sure. The restaurant wasn't very busy so that wasn't the excuse. I've heard it's difficult to get good help in the Keys. Cost a lot to live here. Most commute from Homestead. Anyway- good for the food - don't expect great service. Ironically I did over tip. I was a server in college so I try to be generous.

Having arrived at 4:30pm, we were immediately shown to a table and informed about the happy hour specials. Not normally ones to drink much on vacation, my wife and I instead opted to live in the moment and enjoy the island life, especially since it was 30 degrees when we left Ohio that morning. As such, we each ordered a rum punch (pictured), while my best friend ordered a Bulliet old fashioned and his wife a house margarita. With drink orders out of the way, Deja, our absolutely delightful waitress, took our food orders: sauteed seafood combo (for my wife), backyard BBQ burger with coleslaw (for me), burger and fries (for my BFF and his wife, who -unlike us- were smart enough to save room for dessert). While waiting for our meals, we took in the ambiance of the restaurant, and wow was there a lot to take in! First off, we loved how the old Pizza Hut building had been repurposed and transformed into the embodiment of the tropical island lifestyle. From the display tables showcasing seashells and historic Florida Keys photos, to the license plate light fixtures, to the ceiling-mounted blue sky and clouds panels, to the fish hanging in front of each distinctively Pizza Hut trapezoidal window, we loved it all! When our food arrived, it looked fantastic and tasted even better. My wife described her seafood combo as being excellent, with the Caribbean lobster "almost as good as the ones we get in Maine." Likewise, her fish was fresh and delicious, while the shrimp were succulent. My burger was cooked to a perfect medium-rare and was topped with expertly caramelized onions and bacon with just the right amount of crispness to it. My coleslaw side was also excellent, with the perfect balance of creaminess and zing. Our friends also said their burger and shoestring fries were fantastic. To round out our meal, each of the four of us ordered pieces of Key Lime Pie, which was some of the best I have ever had in my life (and I have eaten a lot of Key Lime Pies!)! Throughout our meal, Deja checked on us often without being overbearing, and kept the drinks flowing. All told, for 5 drinks, 3 entrées with sides, and 4 slices of Key Lime Pie, our bill before tax, tip, and credit card surcharge was $163.93. Considering the excellent food and outstanding service we received, the four of us universally agreed it was well worth the price! Pros: outstanding service, fantastic flavours, great atmosphere, and the 2-for-1 drinks during happy hour were a great deal! Cons: none! Overall we rate Mrs. Mac's Kitchen as being Excellent and cannot wait to go back!

As we were getting ready to head home, I had read in their ad in the local newspaper that they featured fresh Florida lobster. So I delayed our departure a couple hours just to make sure we stopped here for lunch. The restaurant has an outside bar and patio dining plus inside a/c dining. We chose to sit in the inside. I'd asked the server what Florida lobster dishes they offered and the prices. She said they had two -- lobster bites and a lobster tail. I order the tail with sweet potato fries as my side. When the meal came, I saw that what was delivered was NOT fresh Florida lobster. The manager (?) told me they hadn't pulled the traps yet and didn't have any Florida lobster -- which was strange as it was almost a week into the season and their two ads touted it. Anyhow, he suggested the snapper instead and I chose the coconut yellowtail sandwich from their specials. This was barely edible -- over fried, over cooked, and dried out. I took only a couple bites and coins t even eat the rest. Meanwhile, my husband had ordered the cracked conch appetizer. We've had this all over Florida (he's a native) and in the Carribean. This version was quite different. It had large square pieces of conch in a heavy fried batter. I would not recommend this dish, either.
