My cousin recommended this place in Canmore, which is walking distance from our hotel! I would definitely recommend the Gai Bi Tang (beef rib soup), it was very tasty and had the perfect flavor! The soup was outstanding! The wait staff was excellent and very courteous and always bowing to us! The restaurant was half full but the noise level was fine!

Delectable. Phenomenal. A masterpiece. These are but a few words I would use to describe the Korean food at Mii Sushi & BBQ. In a land with a dearth of quality Asian food, this establishment rises like cream to the top. After a long day basking in the glory of Banff, we arrived at the plaza to grab some Thai food next door; however, we had arrived too late, so we decided to head over to Mii. Little did we know, the Lord had intervened on that very day to guide us to an unknown food haven. Upon entering, I was skeptical. Asian restaurants specializing in multiple cuisines are often masters of none, but I needed proper sustenance and rejuvenation after a disappointing meal in Banff. I ordered the Kalbi Tang, hoping for a sliver of the taste I had come to remember back home in New York. When the dish finally arrived, I spooned a tiny portion into my mouth, careful to maintain my expectations. My mouth dropped and the soup almost spilled out. It was one of the best Kalbi Tangs I've had in my life. Little did I know, in this small town of Canmore, I had discovered a restaurant serving fantastically authentic Korean food. The soup was finished in 10 minutes, with every scalding scoop of soup quickly ingested, and each perfectly succulent, marbled piece of kalbi happily swimming in my mouth. You bet I came back the next day and ordered the kimchi jiggae, which, to my delight, was also incredible. I had, again, ate an incredibly mediocre meal in Banff, and needed a real meal to heal my soul. Mii did it again. I was saved and my scarred feet from the meters (we're no longer in America) of hiking no longer ached. Life comes at you in weird ways. It was a cruel summer, but the Lord redeems in miraculous ways, and Mii Sushi & BBQ was certainly one of them. Ordinarily, I would write reviews about the unsavory places I had eaten in Banff, but this week was a happy one, with a stomach full of undoubtedly the best Korean food in the Canmore / Banff area. It was no wonder a tour bus full of Koreans pulled up to eat at this fine establishment. To Mii: keep doing what you're doing and give my compliments to the chef. You truly made this trip that much better by serving food worthy of a Michelin Star consideration (relative to the dining scene here), and that is noteworthy to say the least. Kudos to you

We came here for dinner, and fortunately took Yelper recommendations by ordering mostly Korean dishes and avoiding most of the sushi. Everything came out sizzling, though service was a bit slow. In order from most to least favorite dishes: The best dish we ordered was the Hot Stone Bibimbap. It had a good kick to it, and there was crispy rice at the bottom of the wok. Everything was tasty and fresh! The Bul Go Gi had a really savory and tasty flavor, and was super tender, but it didn't seem super fresh. It was still good, but a better sear/quality of meat and less salt would make it even better haha. The Chicken Yakisoba was pretty good and the portion was large, but there was an overwhelming smoky-ish flavor to it, and the chicken was salty. I did appreciate that there was a good amount of vegetables though. The Spicy Tofu Soup was a disappointment-the tofu was completely broken and the seafood did not taste fresh AT ALL. The Canmore Bento Box was the only sushi item we ordered-and as expected, the sashimi did not taste fresh. Canmore has limited dining options, so this was alright, but I do not think we would come back.

To be honest, I was not expecting much but the food and service were amazing! Our group was craving Asian food after several days of eating Canadian food and it was 10/10. Portions were big and delicious. Restaurant was clean and plenty of parking in the mall.

Ordered Agedashi Tofu, Prawn Tempura, Seafood Sunonomo, Tuna Sashimi (8 pieces) and Rice. Something different from my usual Seafood Sunonomo and Assorted Sashimi. I was greeted and seated right away. Both owners came to greet me. They have become like family. The staff are always polite and attentive. I even have my own table as I am a regular here. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and always clean and sanitary. I was debating on having one of their z Korean dishes which are always good but Japanese won out tonight. For a Thursday night at 8:00pm it is still pretty busy. The restaurant is about a 1/3 full which is good for this time of year before Christmas rush. Absolutely delicious

We came here after seeing all the good reviews but were not impressed. Maybe we should of gotten korean food but the sushi was nothing special. It filled us but they charged us 3 dollars for a small thing of kimchi without telling us. Service was okay they were really nice. Kind of wish we checked somewhere else out while visiting. Still a pretty little area though!

Had a lovely dinner at Mii during my trip to Canmore. My hot stone bibimbap hit the spot and it comes with a small variety of banchan. The service was kind and attentive and you can't beat the views of the mountains and the occasional train at the back. Very happy with my birthday dinner experience. :)

Honestly, we weren't expecting to find such a great sushi spot here but it was one of our favorite meals after a week in Banff/Canmore. Fun interior, lovely staff, and the food was outstanding. You will love it!

Not bad...but simply can't compare to what we have been spoiled with back home.

Decent food that is overpriced. Read the reviews here and thought this might be a decent option for Asian food. We ordered Teriyaki Chicken and a big bowl of Ramen. The Teriyaki Chicken was just terrible and tastes nothing like the real thing. The ramen had good taste but is way, way overpriced (almost $60 Canadian). Overall, I do not recommend this location if you want genuine Korean/Japanese food. Service is not good at all.

By the time we were ready, it took a while to find someone to take our order. The most wanted item is sold out, a fact that they told us upon ordering. Will be appreciated if we know ahead of time so we have more time to consider 'back up item'. There was a table beside us (came after us) who also discussed about ordering same sold-out items, and I was very tempted to tell them that it's sold out. But I figure it's not my place to say because the restaurant must have its own reason for NOT telling this upfront!!?????!! Ordered pork belly skewer , shiitake skewer, shrimp in spicy peanut sauce, and aburi salmon handroll, miso creme brulee. Best items are the shrimp with spicy peanut sauce, and miso creme brulee. Just wow!! For the rest: -If u have eaten shiitake before (at home for example) , u know nothing can go wrong with shiitake as it's already flavorful in its own (safe choice). -Pork belly has good flavor but kinda too fatty (it is a totally different style from the one I usually eat at other places). -Aburi salmon handroll doesnt taste like aburi at all. Just normal handroll basically. Nth special. It was my friend's birthday, we asked if they hv noodle (considering we were farrr from home) and they said it's only available during lunch (which is understandable), but then nth else was done to help celebrate this moment when they hear this fact (simple smile or simple 'happy birthday' could be a gift in its own). Overall, food-wise, we agree on best item and that this place is kinda meh (in terms of food selection and feels like very few 'flavor-worthed' ones).

*Late review* Came here at the ending of last year…read more Walking around the Banff town and heard good things about this place on social media and we saw the line was long outside so maybe there was some hype? The inside is very small and everyone sits around the conveyor belt. It is first come first serve so plan ahead if you wanna beat the lunch/dinner rushes. We went around 1:30 and it took us maybe ~40 minutes to get seated for a party of six (we didn't want to be separated). There is a sushi chef in the middle who makes the sushi right in front of you which is pretty entertaining. As for ordering, you can either ask the chef or your server. They are always putting different things on the conveyor belt so there is always an assortment of sushi to try. We weren't a fan of the sashimi but we did order a lot of the rolls. Their spicy ahi is different from what we're used to - it's just plain ahi with a drop of sriracha on top. Our favorite roll was probably the deep fried shrimp roll and California roll. You can't go wrong with that. We ordered the seaweed salad and potato croquette a couple of times. Price wise it's pretty expensive for the amount and quality that you get. All the food on the menu ranges from about $4.95-$7.95. IMO you're paying for the experience - sushi chef in front of you, conveyor belt, plates on a sushi train. There is one server for the restaurant because the seating area is so small, but the staff in general is pleasant. It's OK but hits the spot if you want a little sushi fix.

You won't find an extensive menu with lots of fancy rolls, but you can get some delicious salmon, yellowtail, or tuna. They also make shrimp tempura rolls, California rolls, and desserts. My favorite was the atomic mayo tuna, so good! My husband enjoyed the scallop. The staff here is so friendly. It's a tiny spot, so depending on when you go you might have to wait.
