Came here for a quick bite after a long day of exploring Banff National Park. The location is super convenient--right in the heart of downtown Banff and close to everything. You'll need to walk downstairs to get in. It's an order-at-the-counter spot, and they bring the food to your table. They offer a variety of noodle dishes ranging from Thai and Japanese to Malaysian. I ordered the Thai tom yum noodle soup, and my husband got the beef soup. If you're looking for authentic Thai tom yum, this isn't it--it's more like tom yum broth with noodles added, which is different from traditional tom yum noodle soup. That said, it was still good enough for me. My husband thought the beef soup was just okay. The staff was nice and friendly. Overall, it's a solid and convenient stop, but not a must-visit for me. read more

We were hungry and in a hurry when we saw this basement located Chopstix restaurant in downtown Banff, Canada.. Very friendly, very cozy, and food came out almost immediately since it was a late lunch time. Service was spot on. They have a good choice of food. Not the usual big serving, it was enough for one person and I like that it was not very salty and just enough seasoning/spice. The Ube croquetas was a good surprise, the Ube itself was almost tasteless but combined with the breaded coating made it hard to put down. The takoyaki was pleasantly good, came out immediately after it was cooked. I recommend that as well. A very good place to enjoy warm soup and what looked like a family owned business. Being in Banff, I had a strong craving for some Asian food & so glad I found this spot. A spacious little cafe downstairs with a consistent atmosphere of customers & fresh food. It began to pick up around lunch time and the customer service was top notch. You can see them checking in with patrons, apologize for the wait & take their time to answer anybody's questions. I ordered a slushy to enjoy while waiting for my meal. I ordered the Korean beef rice bowl which came with kimchi, good amount of rice & beef. I wanted soup but was going to bring it back to my hotel. But the soup dishes did smell really good. I also got the chili wontons. The wrapper was thin and melted in my mouth. We saw the af upstairs on the main road. Excited to see Malaysian dish - laksa!!! Dragged my partner to dine here and we both enjoyed it we just need to add on some soy sauce and salt to taste but loved it. Staff are nice. The taro drinks are yummy. I added on grass jelly. When I came across Chopstix, I was looking for something fast, flavorful, and filling, with a reasonable price tag. This hit the spot on all four markers. Seeing the almost impossibly huge variety of Asian noodle dishes had me second guessing whether any of them were going to be good at first, but I am happy to report that most of them were. Food: I tried the tonkotsu ramen, dan dan ramen, and laksa noodle soup, all of which I liked. I also tried the Hong Kong style beef/wonton noodle soup, which unfortunately did not meet expectations (disclaimer: high standards since I lived in HK previously). Noodles were slightly overcooked and the wontons were very small. However, the flavor was still good. Service: you order at the counter, seat yourself, and then the staff bring the food out to you. I went an hour before closing so there was only one other table in the restaurant, and food came out quickly. We didn't go here for the food. We were looking for a Boba tea shop in the area. Argus was the only one that served Boba tea, other than the pho house upstairs. After trying the pho house we didn't want to try their boba, so we went here instead. The restaurant was located in the basement, one level below the Main Street. Very hidden space. They serve a full menu of Asian food and a big list of drink selection. We just ordered at the register and picked up our drinks so no service needed. But I did like the fact that they had a side stand with self serve water dispenser and condiments. This is always nice to have in restaurants, so the guests do not have to ask for it. The best out of the 4 drinks we got was the Thai tea. It was made just right and very pretty with the three distinct color layers. The next best was the passionfruit green tea. Only thing was she got a little heavy-handed on the ice so there was less tea. However, the other drinks there had too little ice. The matcha we ordered only half sweet level and it ended up with no sweetness. I didn't realize it was going to be that bland. Usually back at home I have to adjust the sweetness level. Here I think it's safe to keep all sugar level as is. The brown sugar milk tea should have also been a lot sweeter but it wasn't, in fact it tasted diluted. Usually brown sugar should be super sweet. Two out of the four drinks were good but the other two needed a little work and sweeter. If I knew the level of sweetness here I would have opted not to lessen the Matcha. Overall it's probably the best in the area because it's the only option. read more

Being Asian myself, I know what real authentic Asian food tastes like. I honestly would not at all to find real Asian food in Banff. However I decided to give this place a try. And I was extremely surprised. This place is a hidden gem. The ramen tastes a lot better than the high end ramen you get in downtown Vancouver. Also you get your money worth at this restaurant because they did not cheap out on the ingredients at all. Their laksa noodles and Tom yum noodles are a must have !! Wife wanted pho and I wanted ramen. Took a gamble since they have zero reviews before me. They didn't even exist on yelp . . . I got the tan tan ramen and wife got the beef noodles which is just beef pho. She said her soup was great and so was mine! We also got some chili dumplings. They were good but over priced. Overall, great experience. Maybe someone else can add the address and phone number. I couldn't find either and they had no to go menus. read more

Walking banff looking for a quick bite with my wife. Ordered the viet beef all/beef pho noodle, Hk style wonton/beef stew noodle, and a side of chili wonton. Pho was pretty good. Wonton/beef stew noodle soup was also good but felt that noodles were a bit soft for my taste and the amount of noodles were a little less than generous. I should asked for extra noodles. The chili wontons were the least of my favorites. The sauce was more soy sauce than chili oil. Too salty. But overall the best thing about this place was the speed of service, after I ordered, I visited the washroom to wash my hands and by the time I had returned to my table the food was already on its way to the table. read more

We wanted something warm and comforting after a long hike and came upon Chopstix. It serves a mix of Asian noodles. Both the Tantan ramen and the Laksa noodle were very flavourful. Although the Tantan was our favourite. The price is very decent. The seating area is not very fancy but it was clean and up to date. The food was delivered very quickly. There was a self service for you to get additional sauces and water. I would recommend this restaurant if you want something delicious, quick and reasonably priced. read more

If you've had good ramen and want to come here because you crave it don't. The food isn't bad, but if you're looking for good ramen you'll be disappointed. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen. To start, the amount they give is very little (I usually can't finish a bowl of ramen but my bowl was done in a few minutes and I wasn't even full) and the price is higher than average for ramen. The broth was minimal and quite thin--not nearly as creamy and flavorful as good tokatsu broth. I personally didn't really like the noodle texture. It was not as chewy and springy as the ramen noodles I usually get. The shredded mushroom tasted a little bitter. Their service is pretty fast and they have wifi though. read more
