Mighty-O Donuts seems to be one of the few vegan donut shops that actually tries to make yeast donuts - most places are cake only. We decided to drop by after eating lunch in the area for a sweet treat afterwards, then ended up picking up a whole dozen... Some notes for a couple that I tried: Maple Bar ($4.99) - Hmm.. Not that fluffy or light. Instead or being airy, it's more dense and has a kind of springy chew. The glaze is sweet and gives off a heavy maple fragrance, an indication they use real maple syrup in the glaze. Maple bars from other places are usually disgustingly sweet with basically no maple flavor - this one is sweet but more well balanced. I think the texture is definitely different from a typical yeast donut. I wonder if it's just because it more difficult to make vegan yeast donuts vs cake donuts? It's a different type of yeast donut, but still very good. (4/5) Chocolate Peanut Butter ($4.45) - Good peanut butter flavor in both the topping and glaze. I think the donut base is also peanut butter but it could be contamination from the glaze. The base isn't very sweet and is kind of almost savory in flavor. The donut is dense but not crumbly and instead very moist. Not really crusty, so not too much textural difference. I think it's baked rather than fried. Still very sweet. (4/5) Devils Playground ($4.45) - The donut base is dense with rich chocolate flavor, and coated with a chocolate ganache of just the right thickness. I hate it when donuts just have a smear of topping to make the donut look attractive, but does barely anything flavor wise. This one, on the other hand, is richly flavored. (4/5) Chocolate Raspberry ($3.65) - This is my favorite, same chocolate cake donut base as above but with bright berry notes and specks of seeds. The tangy berries do wonders to temper down some of the sweetness. (5/5) French Toast ($3.65) - My least favorite by far. Covered with peanuts (which is fine), but the cake donut base or perhaps the glaze tastes heavily earthy, like an overload of cinnamon and nutmeg. (2/5) People who expect the exact same texture as a non-vegan donut, both the cake and yeast types, will probably be disappointed. If I just think of these donuts as their own thing, they're actually quite good. There's another donut shop that I prefer down the street, but Mighty-O Donuts certainly isn't a bad choice for a sweet treat. read more

I love cake donuts! And Mighty-O has the best cake donuts, ever. Period. I love a good fresh warm cake donut, not too dense. Fluffy with a perfect touch of sweetness. Raspberry Riot is our favorite. The perfect balance. Open until 4:00 pm but plus side also sold at PCC (until sold out). Plenty of indoor tables. Coffee & tea sold there too. Great friendly service from the tram. Sigh...this one is hard for me to post. The vegan donuts just don't hit like @DonutFriend in LA. I feel so bad saying this I want to support anything plant-based but these are ...dry. They were dry on day 1 and they're driER on day 3/4. As you can see, the crowd went mild in my home. My kids who are sweet treat FIENDS didn't really wanna touch these again. Top left in the picture is some ?lemon thing and the other three (despite LOOKING different) are the same. Mighty-O, I wanted to love you. I really did. I ADORE that you provide DF donuts to the PCC near my house, but they are always stale by the time I buy them. We did a taste test of the three shops we could find that sold dairy-free donuts- each shop, we bought a Boston cream, a maple bar, and an apple fritter. The Boston cream, the filling had soaked into the pastry and just left a bit of a mess inside. The chocolate frosting was thick and very dark, and competed strangely with the filling and the nutmeg flavor you seem to have in all the donuts. The maple bar was just stale, and again that nutmeg flavor just threw it off. Finally, the apple fritter ALSO seemed stale and had even more nutmeg in it (and do the apple pieces still have their skin? Strange to be chewing skin after everything else is gone.) We ended up tossing the donuts after trying a few bites. They were also smaller than the other shops, for the same price, and all placed into the same bag so they definitely smooshed together in transit. I absolutely love what this company is doing, and they have a very high rating so obviously everyone likes what they like! I love that, we just won't be back. read more

I'm not a vegan but these donuts were so tasty!! We got the lemon poppy, coffee, original glazed, and raspberry. My faves by far were the lemon poppy and original. The lemon glaze was the perfect balance between sweet and sour, and you can't go wrong with an OG. These donuts are on the more doughier side rather than fluffy, just an FYI. Still tasty! These donuts are a long time live affair. The chocolate raspberry reminds me of my grandma's chocolate cake. The lemon poppy seed is there platonic ideal of a lemon cake. The french toast is just plain good. Honestly, all of the cakes here are consistently amazing. And vegan!?!?!?! Go in. Get a box. Not exactly a friendly crew, the barista acted if she had to wait on me by default while the other two workers simply ignored my presence. Thank you Mighty-O Donuts for bringing doughnuts back into my life. Since developing my egg allergy cakes and donuts have been squarely off the table. Majority of vegan substitutes were atrocious or had so many calories that I would have been better off eating fast food for a week. Mighty-O makes fantastic cake vegan donuts. I honestly couldn't tell the difference between a normal cake donut and Mighty-O's and I was so, so happy with my first bite. My roommate and I ordered a variety dozen and my favorites were the lemon poppy - so brightly lemon! - and the cinnamon & sugar which was just lovely. They didn't have any of their yeast donuts for me to try, so I will be interested in trying that the next time I go. Many of the reviews that complain about the taste appear to be looking for classic yeast donuts as yeast donuts tend to be much lighter and fluffier than their dense cake donut counterparts. If you're not into the dense cake donuts you won't be happy with theirs. If you're looking for super sweet donuts you won't find that here either. Even the snowflake donut which was covered in a sugar glaze and white sugar snowflakes was strangely balanced with its doughy cake base. I was thrilled. It had been too long since I had a doughnut I could eat and these were fantastic. And huge bonus was they kept longer too! Excellent customer service!!! Stopped by this location for a quick pick me up breakfast before heading to the airport. I loved the area this location is in. The neighborhood gave me hipster vibes with all the murals and graffiti art. Good donuts! We tried the French Toast, Raspberry Riot, Apple Fritter, Chocolate Peanut Butter, maple twist & glazed twist. My favorite was hands down, the chocolate peanut butter. The raspberry one was a close second. I didn't care for either of the twists. I think they make a better cake donut than yeast raised. Saw an Instagram ad for Mighty-O's seasonal banana bread donut and immediately made plans for a visit. Banana bread is one of my favorite treats ever, and I've never heard of a banana bread donut before. I did some "research" (aka reading Yelp reviews) and learned about their lemon poppy donuts, which were a must-try for me. Lemon poppyseed muffins also happen to be one of my favorite treats. :) My boyfriend and I visited this morning and were blown away by how moist, flavorful, and delicious the donuts were. We ordered one of each of the following flavors: banana bread, lemon poppy, good ol glazed, creme filled, nutty french toast, and coffee bomb. Lemon poppy and banana bread tied for the #1 spot for me. I was nervous the banana bread donut would taste like artificial banana, but it had an amazing natural banana flavor. The lemon glaze on the lemon poppy was so tangy and sweet and reminded me exactly of a lemon poppyseed muffin. The good ol glazed came in the #2 spot. You really can't beat a traditional glazed donut. The nutty french toast was good, but I wish I would've gotten the one without nuts. I do love nuts on most things, but the peanut flavor took away from the french toast flavor. The coffee bomb truly was a bomb of flavor! It was very rich. I'm not sure if I'd be able to finish a whole one on my own, probably just half. :) The creme filled was my least favorite. It was still good, but paled in comparison to the other tasty donuts we ordered. We also each got a drink. My boyfriend ordered a whole milk latte and l ordered an almond milk chai latte. I'm used to pretty sweet chai lattes from other coffee shops, but Mighty-O's was refreshingly subtle and still had a great flavor. The ladies working this morning were friendly and efficient. One thing I found while visiting Seattle was that they had countless option for places to get sweet delights. We wanted to visit them all, but we didn't have the time... One of the places that we got to visit was Mighty-O Donuts. Until we got there, I didn't know that it was just one of handful of locations. This spot was located on the corner lot, and with lots of large windows, the inside was nice and bright. They had a few table seating at the front, and then counter seating all the way to the back. They had all the goodies at the counter to the left. They also had their cold beverage offerings right next to the donuts. They had pretty good selection of donut flavors, it was not going to be easy choosing which one to try... We got a few mini-donuts and 1 regular donut so that we can taste several flavors. Their donuts are made with no chemicals, no GMOs, and no animal products. Yes, they are organic vegan donuts! We tried Cinnamon Sugar, Blueberry Monster, Glazed Baby-O's, and Chocolate Raspberry. They were tasty with rich flavor, and comforting. And yes, much healthier than regular donuts, as they are organic and vegan. I enjoyed the delicious donuts here at Mighty-O! I think it's also a bonus that they had a donut with mint chocolate glaze/flavor (don't hate please!). I came here for the first time a couple weeks back and I told the staff serving me that I've never been here before. She was very nice enough to let me know what the most popular ones are and her recommendations. Gotta love donuts made with organic ingredients! Went here at 8am and was lucky to not find a line and can smell the freshly baked donuts for the day. The selection for flavors that you won't usually find anywhere else is great whilst keeping the all-time sought out for flavors like maple and or the classic chocolate glazed. Friend and I stopped in here for dessert after our ramen lunch. I don't usually care if something is vegan or not. (No offense to those who do care!) I'm not a huge donut/doughnut consumer BUT when I do, I get mighty with Mighty-O (so corny, Daren) maybe half the time (the other half via a local private chef). No other bakery creates as clean & vegan treats like these guys in perhaps the Puget Sound region. All organic, sustainable, conscious, compassionate, cool, chill, friendly, fun... good stuff all around. All are tasty; my usual go-to's are the fritter (an old favorite since college), any nutty, french toast and lemon poppyseed (sometimes the seasonal). I've had an oat latte once before and the medium roast is pretty decent. I'm a huge earthy, bold dark roast fan for lattes but sometimes curiosity still peeks its head out for adventure. Staff is friendly and chill while the location is airy & pleasantly spacious on a prominent corner location. Feedback - please do more blueberry and peach fritters! Today me and my partner went into the Capitol Hill location around 9 am and had a terrible experience. We love the mini doughnuts so much and we were so excited to pick some up for our breakfast. However, we had one of the worst customer service experiences ever. We walked in and it was like crickets were in the building. We did not get acknowledged and the service staff was clearly unhappy that they had to help us. The person who had the slashed eyebrows was one of the most absolute worst out of all of the three employees. We stood there at the counter like idiots and were not greeted until the employee with the slashed eyebrows had to break the silence and ask us what we "wanted". Truly disappointed and disgusting that there are employees who could care less about how they make customers feel. I left feeling unseen, disrespected, and not valued.
