My boyfriend and I wanted to sit down after walking around the convention on Saturday so we decided to stop by here. Luckily, there was a table available for us despite how busy they were. Our waitress was very sweet and did her best during the rush. The space was pretty but we were in the corner of the restaurant so we couldn't see much. I got the shrimp tempura udon and a Shirley Temple while my boyfriend got the salmon poke bowl and a Seattle roll. The food didn't take long to get but it came one by one instead of all at the same time. Also my boyfriend didn't get his poke bowl for the longest time and no one even noticed until we mentioned it to our waitress and she shares the kitchen decided to take their lunch after thinking they were done. The food was alright for what it is as they were generous with portions. I did appreciate the little spicy flakes on my udon, though wish that they would leave it on the table as I would have enjoyed my udon more as it offered a nice spicy kick. The poke bowl was beautifully arranged and had lots of different ingredients. The Shirley Temple was also well made, but no refills. I ordered three different rolls but I felt like I got two of same rolls because they tasted exactly same. Also during check out, the girl told me they included chopsticks and other utensils but when I opened the bag there were none... I hope they didn't get my orders wrong. Was in Downtown Seattle for a Conference in February, and not wanting to walk too far in the cold/rain, Kas seemed to be a pretty highly rated place walkable from the hotel. It ended up being so tasty that I came here twice within a few days. The first visit, I got veggie tempura appetizer and chirashi rice bowl. A bit on the pricier side, I still wanted to give it a try. The veggie tempura are actually not separate pieces of vegetables in tempura, but kakiage (shredded veggies fried together) - still pretty good though. The chirashi rice bowl was fantastic - beautiful presentation as the fish came on the side, pretty fresh, and I appreciated the small details, like the wasabi stem inside the scallop and the shiso leaf/sprouts that accompanied the dish. The service was fantastic as well, considering I had a table for one during lunch hour. My second visit I was on the go, so I got the Classic sushi burrito, which again was maybe a little pricier than I would like, but it was worth it. Rice, fish/poke, crab mix, cucumber, avocado - it all mixed nicely wrapped within the rice paper outside, and was convenient to eat for takeout. Popped in here to meet some friends before a movie screening at Pacific Place one evening. It was a small place and pretty quiet. I wasn't sure what to expect since I had not heard of this sushi spot before. It looked more like a casual lunch spot and probably popular for takeout. My husband and I stayed nearby and visited KAS twice on our trip to Seattle. The employees are so so friendly and food comes out quickly. We tried three different rolls - spicy California, cherry blossom, and Philly crunch. Everything tasted really fresh! We got two salmon rice bowls for about $16 each and the portion size was huge! We took a while to finish our bowls and even then, still had some food left. The salmon tasted so fresh, flavorful, and was well-seasoned. The pickled vegetables included added a very nice crunch to the meal. Overall, it was a nice variety of textures and tastes-- well-balanced meal. The cashier was also very kind and patient with us while we were deciding what to order. She was accommodating to our modifications (no avocado and crab meat) and even double-checked to ensure it was correct. There is also a self-service station if you're a bit shy so you don't have to talk to anyone if you don't want to! There is also self-served water here which I appreciated. The restaurant was very clean and well-lit. Casual atmosphere whether it's for a date, family outing, or just hanging out with friends. My boyfriend and I didn't get to try the Korean dishes but we will definitely be back! Super excited for the bulgogi fries! KAS is a bright, playful joint near the new Seattle convention center serving classic Korean food. We ordered the Bibambap and a bottle of soju, which came out with a small bowl of complimentary vegetable broth soup. The bibambap was flavorful and ingredients were high quality, but the only downside is that it was served lukewarm -- it would've been better if the bulgogi and rice were hot (the raw egg on top didn't quite have enough heat to cook, even after mixing the bibimbap together). Additionally, it was missing my favorite part of a classic bibimbap -- the kimchi!! Notwithstanding, it still tasted delicious and I'd be willing to give it another try next time I'm in Seattle. The staff was really kind and attentive and they even brought out a small dish of the spicy pork for us to try. The meat was super tender and flavorful, so I imagine the pork rice bowl would really hit the spot. This restaurant would be a great choice for a casual lunch while visiting the convention center (or walking downtown from Capitol Hill, which is what we did).
