So....I've been by this place 100's of times and noticed it, but never really paid too much attention to it. My wife and I were looking for a good place to celebrate a birthday, and we've been to all of the usual places in Dunedin, so we searched for some place new. WOW, so happy we gave this place a chance! It's difficult these days to find a place that is truly a dining experience. Clearly, the menu is inspired by a chef that enjoys what he does and genuinely cares about the presentation. I would say that the name of this establishment perfectly discribes the menu, Craft Kitchen! We started with the tuna tartare, and it was great. My wife had the scallops and I had the short rib, and I can't describe how good both really were, other than to say it was fantastic! We finished the dinner with a dessert, which is unusual for us, but glad we did. We had the bread pudding and the blueberry cobbler. I won't do them justice describing them, so just indulge yourself! The atmosphere was great, the staff tentative and helpful. The pace of the courses was perfectly timed, and we never felt rushed or sat waiting for the next dish. The price and portion size matches very well with the prices, You could go to one of the other restaurants in Dunedin, pay the same prices and the quality of the food would not even be close to what you will find at Miggs. Very unique flavors in an outstanding combination.... Not to be missed. Fresh ingredients and generous amount of crab. Main meals we chose were the Red Wine Braised Beef Short Rib for Hubby and Shrimp Pad Thai for me. The Short Rib with Mac & cheese had me drooling and made me think I had made the wrong choice! Unassuming little craft restaurant in Dunedin that I'm very glad has come our way. It's very unique in its use of a seasonal menu so things aren't repeated too frequently & we don't get bored of eating there. The chef makes the food fresh to order, ingredients are quality and there's no shortage of flavor. The staff is mostly friendly. We did feel like we were a "bother" the other night when we came 30 min prior to closing, and we felt the vibes from the waiter. The hours are a little too early on the weekends (9 pm) but I'm sure they're just getting up and running as a new business. The decor is quaint and contemporary, parking is adequate bc it's in a strip mall. It's a small restaurant, so be prepared for quiet conversations and being close to others. When waiter was informed, he comped our glasses, put the bottle on ice, and provided another glass to me, feee of charge. Good business decision imo. Food was good, albeit expensive. Reduction in stars due to the poor ventilation. Realize the kitchen is right there in the open, but I was overwhelmed with the smell of the grills and fryers. The food here was superb. we had the Calamari with chipotle, cilantro and it was very lightly crumbed so very tender and spices perfect. The scallops on Corn risotto were also tender, cooked just right and risotto was super creamy, not solid FYI. The Crab Pad Thai was a winner, made to spice preference, it was packed with tenderly cooked crab and all the veggies crisp. Branzino was good as well, but I forget what my tablemate mentioned. The Braised short ribs fell off the bone, 4 cheese mac & cheese creamy and veggies nice too. Skatewing was a surprise and done just right, i forget the accompaniment The Tres Leches cake was moist, coconutty, delicious. Server was straightforward, didnt interrupt constantly to say "how is everything?" (one of my pet peeves), brought water, etc. Only serving suggestions, which I make to every restaurant: 1-STOP telling me the server's name- i wont remember and frankly, not necessary.left 2- Servers need to serve from the left, remove from the right-- DO NOT HOLD THE PLATE OUT FROM THE END OF THE TABLE AND EXPECT GUESTS TO GRAB IT AND PASS TO OTHERS OR TO GRAB IT THEMSELVES AS YOUR ARM IS IN FRONT OF THEIR TABLEMATE. read more

Have twice now spoken to staff about table settings: style is unchanged since opening, using textured, plastic coasters and placemats that collect unappetizing bits and seem difficult to clean; today, our tablecloth was soiled. Extra settings at our table were not removed, and my bet is, will be left for next customer. The simple black cloths fit with modern decor and by themselves could be easily changed after each sitting. Usually I don't post negative feedback, but just battled back from first experience Covid and this is an issue that gives me pause about returning. I thought this would be our go to place our last experience there was marred by the way that the management - manages its reservations and irate guests There were three of us - my son and wife we have eaten at many places and have a few. The restaurant business is having a difficult time with finding qualified help so the negatives seem to lie in this issue. The food and presentation were well done it's the second time we dined here lunch and then on a Friday dinner for 6:30 reservations. We shared a bottle of wine and were basically done at 8pm we consider this a reasonable time . The service person offered up a desert which we normally dont order. But we were tempted unfortunately it took an additional 20 or so minutes . I am bringing some rare good news. Pediatrician.The desert was shared and at that point the server told us that there was a couple waiting for our table - we took this in stride, as we did want to enjoy the desert but we felt rushed with a couple glaring glaring at us as we finished promptly at 8:30 paid and left. - $240.00 - on the way out the man of the couple responded to my wife's apology stating that he was about to come over and rip our arm off. ( I didn't know this until after we left) good restaurant but poorly managed and too much expected of the wait staff to do their job and try to manage obviously entitled people. - it bothered me to give this review to owners who are working hard in difficult times but we can't be the point of someone's anger especially when we are paying for service. read more

This unassuming place at the end of a strip mall used to be a breakfast/lunch place called Kelly's. Now it is a fancy but small upscale dining room. The menu is eclectic. Asian, Latin, and Italian influences. Three of us met for early dinner. The service was wonderful. We decided to share an appetizer, Asian Glaze Crispy Calamari- Perfection with tomato compote and chipolte sauce in a lovely presentation. I had Gambas Al Ajillo Duo, shrimp two ways. The shrimp were well cooked, some at the bottom of the dish in lobster sauce, then tomato compote, asparagus, topped with shrimp tempura. Each component shone and added to the dish.Toasted Crostini were for the sauce. My friends both had Shrimp Pad Thai and raved about it. I also had Rosemary Smoky Chardonnay Mango White Sangria-only $8 and built at the table- upside down glasses with the smoking rosemary under it. the server poured ice into the glass and then the Sangria mixture and small chunks of fruit. Four of us stopped for lunch at Miggs. This was by far the best meal we have had on our Florida visit. The smoked rosemary infused sangria was lovely and the wine by the glass selections were varied and interesting. We all enjoyed our lunches. The greek salad with grilled chicken was superb. The chicken had a lovely crunch and was perfectly cooked.. juicy and well seasoned and the salad was fresh and delicious. The boys both had the hot pastrami sandwich which were accompanied by the best fries ever. Another had the hot sliced turkey sandwich which was juicy and had flavorful toppings.
