Absolutely the best chef & food in Dunedin. Miguel and staff are top notch. Menu, presentation & taste.

Exterior does not match the interior at all - expect an upscale experience with some of the best food I've had in a while; they definitely know what they're doing here! I was lured in by their recent postings on Facebook highlighting some dishes after a revamped menu, so my mom & I stopped in for dinner on a Thursday evening and had a wonderful meal. It was rather quiet inside; just us and two other tables at 5:30, and by the time we left only two more parties had come in. But people need to give this gem more attention! My mom & I split the burrata appetizer; it was so fresh and flavorful that we agreed it's the go-to app going forward for us. I then opted for the steak dish for my entree which was perfectly cooked, had a great sauce, and was loaded with delicious sides. The portions were a great size; unfortunately we didn't have room for dessert but we absolutely left with full, happy bellies. Our server was perfectly attentive and gave great recommendations. Again it wasn't super busy that night so we had no issues with timing anything, and he was very knowledgeable about the menu. Since this is a more upscale meal (with the prices reflecting that without being astronomical), I'm not sure I can make this a monthly go-to, but it's definitely a new favorite for a special night out. read more

My Mom's a tough critic - there was a large party and we had to wait, but the team at Miggs were very customer service oriented, served drinks while we waited, and once seated we experienced excellent service, great food and great company. Also important to note, while we were waiting, as each table departed they shared with us (unsolicited) what a wonderful experience they had. I had a delicious cocktail, we had the calamari for an appetizer, and each had the scallops over risotto for our entree. Both dishes were flavorful and delicious. First time there and it was an amazing experience. From the great service to the very interesting entrées, it was enjoyed by all Our appetizer for the table was the Asian calamari. A great twist on what you would normally think the calamari would be. I had pad Thai with shrimp, sole, and beef brisket. I just had to try this It was out of sight, a great fusion of flavors My wife had the scallops which she said were excellent Dishes seem to be a little expensive until you see the amount of food you get. We were the first table to arrive, we were about 20 min early for our 6pm reservation and the place was empty which made us question our decision to go there. We were pleasantly surprised, everything was wonderful and the service was good too! I will say, they do not have a full far, it's beer and wine only, just a warning. We got a shrimp appetizer that was delicious. My husband had a very interesting (red snapper, shrimp and brisket) Pad Thai and I had the Seafood Risotto, both dishes were delicious! And they give very hearty portions of the proteins, most places give you more pasta than protein, not this place! I would definitely recommend a visit here. read more

So glad we tried this restaurant! We were greeted and seated by our very efficient server by the name of May. She answered all of our questions and took our orders in a timely fashion. May explained that the menu changes frequently, on the December menu the only entrée not available was the lamb shank. The menu showed six different appetizers, and eight different entrées. I chose for my entrée the Wagyu beef burger. 8 ounces of Wagyu beef, lettuce, tomato, pickles, shallots, cheddar cheese, bacon, and rosemary, mustard sauce on a toasted brioche bun with a side of Parmesan fries. Absolutely delicious! My wife chose for her entrée Nantucket Bay scallops, seared golden brown, butternut squash creamy risotto, vegetables, bacon, and red wine meurette. The best scallops she's had in a while. As stated before, there are numerous delicious, sounding appetizers and entrées, such as Asian crispy calamari, prosciutto, and creamy Burrata mozzarella salad, tuna Tartar. Red, snapper and shrimp, beef brisket pad Thai, Scottish salmon, marinated hanger steak with shrimp, and the Australian lamb shank. Made a reservation for tonight and got in. They were surprisingly busy for a Wednesday night. We got greeted right away and sat. What a quaint, small, nicely decorated restaurant. We ordered juices for our drinks and they were refreshing and tasty. We did not have any apps but they looked amazing as we saw them walk by. I had the Hanger steak with gulf shrimp. So flavorful and delicious and he had the Seafood risotto. He was amazed at how much seafood there was. And it was delicious. The waiter was pleasant and kind, and him and the waitress ran the place like a well oiled machine! We'll def go back! read more

Fresh food - farm/sea to table! Excellent through and through. The red sangria is amazing and it comes out smoked with rosemary. I had the seafood risotto and it was very delicious and cooked perfection. The service was wonderful. It was personalized and they insured everyone's drinks were continuously filled as needed. It is a smaller restaurant with limited seating but the food speaks beyond. It is well worth taking a trip to Migg's! You won't be disappointed. The day we got there we had six in our party so they adjusted for us quickly and added an extra table. I highly suggest going as they are a wonderful restaurant to go to. Great service, great ambiance, but definitely the star is the food, it left wanting me to go back and try the many other appealing options in the menu. If you are a sharer, the size of the plates allow for it. 1 App+ 2 dishes+ 1 dessert+ 4 drinks =$185. It was worth it for a special date night but that's up to your budget... maybe ordering a bottle of wine would've been better. When I go back I'll probably have just 1 meal to share and 1 dessert. Easily the best meal I've eaten thus far in 2025. Hands down. Full stop. While this unassuming place -- located at the end of a strip mall, no less -- doesn't necessarily look spectacular from the street, the food is jaw-droppingly stellar. It's an eclectic mix of seafood and upscale comfort food -- all with an unexpected gourmet twist. The Pad Thai was an odd combination of shrimp, swordfish, and brisket. (Yes, brisket.) I would order it as my last meal on death row. (Yes, it was that good.) While I'm not a glutton (usually), all the apps look amazing. The burrata salad and the calamari were killer starters. And can we talk about the desserts? There was a plum/peach cobbler that was served piping hot out of the over and covered in rich vanilla ice cream. Our server May was quick to suggest items and we listened to her implicitly. (We were newbies, but we'll be back soon. In fact, I predict we'll be seasoned veterans by the end of summer.) Go. Enjoy. Miggs is always delicious and we often go there when we want a really good experience. Staff is friendly and professional. The room is well designed and just the right size to remain intimate. Miggs has tablecloths, something that we look for in restaurants. Everything is good. Try their smoked sangria. Tuna tartare, and calamari are favorite appetizers. My first visit was with my son. We ordered two appetizers. Both were excellent! Tuna Tartar and Calamari were delicious and large enough to suffice for our meals as we are light eaters. The restaurant is in a strip mall east of downtown, so might be easy to overlook. The restaurant was full when we were there between 6:15 and 7:30, a testament to people knowing of the quality of the offerings of this tastefully decorated space. I was pleasantly surprised at the offerings at some of the other businesses in this location as well. Though I pass this mall frequently, I am not always aware of changes that happen in this area, and I look forward to returning. read more

I repeat, the food is not good but amazing! 8 of us went, we had appetizers, big shout out tue the Burrata and calamari for apps. I was told about this restaurant by a Mah Jongg friend & she raved about it. Well, my husband & I finally remembered to try it & went there yesterday (Sunday 9/21). It was a really quaint space with an open kitchen. We were told the menu changes regularly. My husband ended up getting the Scottish Salmon with middle neck clams, Romesco sauce, handmade linguine tossed in a white wine broth, topped with fennel, leeks, dill & Spanish sausage. He said the dish was so flavorful & outstanding! I had the FL Red Snapper, Gulf Coast Shrimp & Beef Brisket Pad Thai with broccoli, carrots, red peppers, bok choy, scallions, cilantro, crushed almonds & egg noodles in Yuzu Broth! It was phenomenal & the various spices had my taste buds going wild! We loved this place & will definitely be back. read more

A gem of a find tonight as we met my brother and his wife for dinner. None of us had tried Miggs but we had read great reviews about the food, the chef, the service. We were absolutely impressed beyond measure with our service from Reed and the dinners put out by Chef Miguel and his culinary colleague on the line. We dove into the calamari so ferociously that I did not even get a photo! The flavor is fresh and bright with a hint of Asian sweetness. Not sure if the texture was so perfect because it is Rhode Island calamari but it was perfect. Two of our party enjoyed the Pad Thai dish that sported an abundance of seafood with white fish (Rainbow trout), soft shell crab, and shrimp. The egg noodles Chef Miguel uses are unctuous. There is not a carb heavy feel to the dish thanks to the balance of seafood, vegetables and noodles. I had the great fortune to order the scallop dish where the scallops sit atop a butternut squash risotto and bacon lardons. I feel the scallops needed maybe 30 seconds more to golden up a bit more and be a tad less fleshy. A touchy ingredient to work with when pan searing. Last dish at our table was the saffron seafood risotto that I had read some mixed reviews about before driving over to Miggs. I saw so much delicious looking seafood piled artistically placed on my brother's plate - mussels, clams, shrimp, and lobster. He had a difficult time sharing with his wife! The tres leches dessert was enjoyed by the other diners while I had to just observe based on my desire to keep losing weight. They said it was good. By the looks of the empty plate I would say it was great. As for the wine list, I wish to make a diner's observation in a way many can relate to. There is a solid listing of varietals with the same price per glass & bottle for almost every one. There is a great reason to handle your wine list this way. It gives the restaurateur the ability to change the labels they carry as prices and inventory fluctuate. On the other hand it gives the guests the ability to try different styles and labels without paying a steep cost. As long as you tell your server your palate and/or your preference then they should be able to guide you to the right selection on the wine list. It's brilliant! read more

We had the opportunity to dine at Migg's last week. It was a special occasion so we chose Miggg's for that reason. This is one of the best kept secrets in Dunedin or the area. The chef comes from a classical background and it shows in all of his food preparation. He uses the best ingredients, frequently local. An all-time favorite is the calamari appetizer which is so tender and delicious. The entrees with shrimp and scallop are cooked to perfection as well as his risotto. The winter salad was a new favorite with lots of vegetables, slices of apple, nuts and parmesan cheese. We look forward to going back again for dinner as well as weekend brunch. read more

What a great way to celebrate my husband and I's birthday. Yes we share the same birthday. How cool is that? We visited on Wednesday night and walked into the smell of yummy food being grilled. Fantastic chef driven menu. Very thoughtfully, composed dishes, and uniquely successful flavor pairings. The house-made white or red sangria's came with an option of being infused with rosemary smoke. I went with the white, and I loved it so much I had two of them. Our server May did a great job with pacing and presentation. Plus, she was a lot of fun and knowledgeable about all the dishes on the menu. Our starter was a Panzanella and Burrata salad with fresh figs and plums I had the Scallop dish. Very nice sear on the scallops. I loved the bed of butternut squash purée and shaved brussels sprouts they rested on. These talented chefs made it very easy to compose a perfect bite. My husband loved his Short Rib entree and my best friend had the Wagyu beef burger, and some of the best fries I've had around. Apparently, they dredge their fries in Parmesan which makes them super crispy. So glad my friend Laren told me about this awesome restaurant. Go find this hidden gem. We have heard amazing things about Miggs. We were finally able to try it and it lived up to the hype. It is located in a small strip mall but don't be turned off by its location. It is a small restaurant- 8-10 tables with only two servers. You can see the kitchen from the tables. We made a reservation but they were slammed so we had fo wait a bit. Our server was extremely nice and great at her job- she apologized for the wait and gave us two glasses of wine on the house. We ordered the tuna tartar, Gambas Al Ajillo, seafood risotto, and the scallops. Everything was absolutely amazing! So much flavor and variety in each bite. This place was such a surprise! Don't let the fact that it's in a strip mall fool you... When you get inside the ambiance is so nice! There are table cloths, cloth napkins, nice plates/flat wear, plants to block 580 and to add to the ambiance, a chef oriented menu and top notch service. Even the ladies room was cute!We went for brunch and it was a great experience. I only wish the plants didn't all come IKEA. Real plants in nice pots would have been a nicer choice. Plastic plants were better than no plants though. Wish I could give 1/2 stars because that was cringey to me in such a nice place. read more
