I've been purchasing seafood at several other locations, lately F.M. and another place on Bellaire Rd but Jensen Bros is much better than either one. The fresh Atlantic cod I bought was meatier and much higher quality than I've been able to buy previously. And of course I found them on Yelp. Other stores advertise their products on sale but when you get there, they are "out". So if you have something on sale but you don't actually have it, was it worth the drive there? Of course not. Jensen Bros sells to lots of other local places so they have large quantities. Service was fast, friendly, (a smile always is appreciated) and they do have a few places to park right in front so you don't have to drive up and down Douglas Ave looking for parking. The counter service restaurant can't be beat with its fresh bites and the ability to purchase a-la-carte items like a single crabcake or single stone crab claw. The staff are friendly and helpful. We live one block away and will be eating here as often as possible. The courtyard seating is pleasant in the winter. We'll be carrying out when the temps rise. read more

Great fresh seafood. It is hard to tell which restaurant this is because the Jensen Bros Seafood sign hangs close to the fresh seafood market portion of the establishment, away from the restaurant portion. Seating seams limit compared to other restaurants in that area but the food is well worth it. Sampler was very good, the breaded scallops are excellent. The blackened grouper sandwich was one of my favorites so far. Great food! read more

Jensen Brothers was one of my favorite - and most surprising - stops on a recent trip to Dunedin. We were looking for some fresh seafood to make dinner at home, and popped in on our way to check out a nearby brewery. O. M. G. The selection of seafood in this place was truly phenomenal. I've never seen anything quite like it - and I'm saying that as someone who was born and raised in Seattle, where fish markets are literally everywhere. They had what felt like every imaginable type of fish, shellfish, mollusk, and almost anything else that could be found in the sea. My only regret was I couldn't add a few weeks of homemade dinners onto my trip so I could try out some of their more interesting-sounding options. They also carry seafood-friendly spices, seasonings, and other accompaniments. And their prices were fabulous too! read more

We have been buying fresh fish and seafood from Jensen Brothers for several years and were always very satisfied until today. Purchased lobster tails, crab legs and a bag of 100 clams. The bag had only 93 clams, plus several were broken and fully opened. We wound up minus more than a dozen clams. When I called Jensens, whomever I spoke with said "that's to be expected" really? She told me that they were out of clams today, but she did offer free dozen next week, which I said no thank you, I needed them for family dinner tonite. Frenchy's Seafood Market to the rescue. Absolutely loved this place tucked away in the historic area of Dunedin. This little deli/cook to order place next to the fish market has charm and the nicest, most pleasant and helpful servers helping us make our selections from the daily fresh deli selections available and/or choices from the fresh catch market next door with it list of catch of the day choices they'll make to your liking their in the kitchen. The food is so fresh and delicious , with the friendliest of staff and very comfortable outdoor seating we had to make a second visit before saying goodbye to the gulf side. OMG! Get the lobster Mac & cheese!!! This is not anything like you've had before.. forget that gooey, yellow mess you're imagining. This is big, thick pieces of lobster, pasta and a very very light sauce so as not to spoil the fresh taste! We bought one for home (approx 17.00), and it can feed four but tbh, this is SOOO good, we should've got two. I could just keep eating it. I called several times this past week about when they were getting their Louisiana Wild Shrimp in and specifically asked if they would be treated with STPP or Chlorine. They reassured me multiple times that they do not use preservatives with those shrimp. I have a big BBQ planned for tomorrow and went to pick up these shrimp. I arrived and saw a few in a display plate, I smelled a hint of synthetic chemical smell. I asked them again if they use preservatives any point during the process, and was reassured. I purchased 6lbs, and as soon as I got home the smell of chlorine and triphosphates hit me in the face. I cleaned them and rinsed them about a dozen times (photo to follow) but to no avail. The water was Sudsy even after the 10th wash. I'm extremely disappointed and apparently SOL for my BBQ tomorrow. I live less than 10 mins away and so I'm extra disappointed in the quality of the shrimp that I just purchased. Even if they did not add the chemicals, they should be aware of the dead obvious smell resulting from this process. Clearly not a fish monger that pays attention to detail. It's sad because some of the employees are so nice. read more

My husband heard about a fish market next of the brewery and we knew we had to give it a try. Since going out for Valentine's Day was not going to happen this year, the hubby decided to cook me dinner. He asked if I wanted surf and turf from Land and Sea or if I wanted to get fish from the market in Dunedin. This was an easy choice for me! We ventured down there on a Saturday morning and were pleasantly surprised. This place was CLEAN, had tons of variety and the people working were so friendly. There was a decent crowd too. After looking at their fresh selection and their frozen, we decided upon a fresh cobia filet and some fresh scallops. At home we grilled the cobia (which was excellent-nice and meaty but flaky too) and we seared the scallops. A pound of U10 scallops and a half pound of cobia was $28. I felt as though their pricing was fair. I checked out their large frozen shrimp and they too looked great. We will definitely be back to check out their fresh fish. read more

Their scallops are so huge, sweet and delicious,and their grouper is right off the boat fresh. OMG so goood. They also offer shrimp, mahi mahi, herring in cream sauce and all sorts of prepared meals. You get what you pay for here at Jensens Brothers. The freshest, sweetest, most delicious fish around Pinellas. For all you with a sweet tooth,they offer all sorts of baked goods from JJ Gandy's.
