My husband and I had lunch Sunday at Miggs in Dunedin. This place was a big treat. From a beautiful 2 way Shrimp appetizer to Scallops and risotto, with so much depth and flavor. That dish was delightful. I had the garlic shrimp over a beautiful piece of Scottish salmon. Just a perfect and delightful menu at Miggs. We tried Migg's for the first time yesterday, Sun. They had a brunch menu, so the selections were limited. What they offered was a good selection and quality, though. Two of us had the Crab Cake Eggs Benedict, my husband had the Shrimp and Grits, and my friend had the Sautéed Scallops over Saffron Rice. The food was anything but ordinary. It was delish! Cody our server was very nice and attentive. If you are looking for a cocktail, I ordered a Bloody Mary, they only serve beer and wine. That was a little disappointing, but I adapted. Our second time here and it did not disappoint. We were seated immediately, surprised as we entered for our 7 PM reservation how empty the restaurant was. However as we settled in it quickly started to fill up. Our Servers name was May and she was delightful as well as quite knowledgeable. As we had had a cocktail elsewhere before we arrived, we decided to relax and converse, as we looked at the menu. Unfazed, May proceeded to answer our questions, we requested and were brought some bread. 4 pieces, one for each of us, a nicer bread basket is warranted I think. Our entrees were nothing short of amazing. Forgive me if I don't remember exactly what they were called. 3 of us had the colossal shrimp and steak, and I had the snapper filet, with clams on top of noodles. These entrees were nothing short of amazing! The chef should be awarded a Michelin star! We are blessed to have such a high quality restaurant in our area. The only thing is the ambiance for such a gourmet selection of food is a bit lacking. In a strip plaza this gem should be a bit different inside. When we arrived, I thought, how does this restaurant survive in a plaza location, not downtown and generally away from all of the tourist traffic. Then we went inside. The restaurant was packed, filled with life, exceptional service and slow turning tables. Each table was packed to the max, food throughout and each table had a full bottle of wine. As we waited 20 minutes for our table, I took a look at the menu and wasn't surprised by why this restaurant was full. The menu was a weekly menu, set by what the chef had purchased fresh to serve his community. The staff wasn't tired, but, they were filled with joy and exuberance to serve their tables. We dropped into Miggs for lunch with two friends from the Parrish area, south of Tampa Bay. It was my and husband's second visit. Miggs is a gem of a restaurant in Dunedin. Unexpected offerings and very much appreciated. My girlfriend had the shrimp and grits, I had the seared scallops on risotto, husband had the Greek salad with warm sautéed shrimp on top of the salad, guy pal had the very large hamburger perfectly cooked to medium rare. An unassuming restaurant from the exterior, the interior is chic and welcoming. The Miggs menu is unlike any other local restaurant. You should not miss the experience. The restaurant is very unassuming in a strip mall, so we weren't sure what to expect. But the inside was very lovely and gave off fine dining vibes, but without the crazy price tag. We came for lunch and the staff were really great, drinks were never empty and the food came out hot and fast. I tried the chicken sandwich and the pancakes, my friend had the wagyu burger and said it was so juicy and delicious. The chicken sandwich was the highlight for me, so flavorful and it had an amazing sauce, the bread was thick enough to hold up to the juicy sandwich! Great truffle fries and chipotle dipping sauce as well! The pancakes were also very good, but the eggs weren't the best. Every dish, our drinks, the service, it was one huge pleasure. We are now going to be regulars. We are happy they have a patio with tables outside & umbrellas so we can eat outside with our faithful dog. Everyone (patrons coming in to eat + the wait staff) was so kind & sweet to him. We lived in NYC for 40 years, moving to Clearwater 16 months ago. We are used to a plethora of amazing chefs & their restaurants. So we were happily surprised to find such fabulous food in Dunedin, 15 mins from our home. My husband had the Short Rib Mac N Cheese, the red rosemary-smoked sangria (, , & ), while I had the Scallop Risotto w Corn and the white rosemary-smoked sangria (mango, & ), and we shared the Calamari appie. i've been to Miggs a few times now for dinner but this is my first time to for brunch - I took my goddaughter there yesterday and overall it was a lovely experience and elevated brunch, However I, was very disappointed with the crab eggs Benedict. For $28 I would've expected a lot more. What appeared on my plate were too tiny towers about 2 inches in diameter with a little sliver of sourdough bread, a few slivers of asparagus and avocado topped with a very small crabcake ,small poached egg. And hollandaise. When I cut into the tower, the layers all fell apart and unfortunately the little sliver of sourdough was ice cold so they brought me 2 actual hot slices of sourdough toast - that worked much better and should've been what was on the plate initially. For $28 I expected a lot more. However conversely, my goddaughter ordered the chicken sandwich was gigantic! Huge beautiful crispy golden chicken breast overflowing from the mile high bun and a very healthy portion of mixed vegetables on the side instead of the french fries. She definitely got her moneys worth though I did not. I will come back again but I won't order the eggs Benedict. - I also should mention that the hollandaise was really lemon forward - it normally has a hint of lemon and also tastes of butter - I did not taste the butter, only lemon. read more

Miggs is a hidden gem in a plaza off Main Street in Dunedin. Parking isn't a problem on the weekends as most of the shops are closed and Miggs has limited seating. I called the day before and the hostess recommended making reservation as seats fill up fast. I made reservations for a Sunday brunch for 2. Our waitress, May was very friendly and offered recommendations to us as this was our first time dining here. The menu has a good selection of options. I went with the avocado toast and it didn't disappoint. I also had a craft lemonade. I do wish the menu also listed coffee/tea options. It's a quaint restaurant with a trendy, minimalistic vibe. Me and a friend recently tried based on excellent local reviews. We were not disappointed. They have a menu that seems to change monthly so the only disappointment might be not being able to order again. The food was on point! I am restricting my carbs and they were able to accommodate that with ease. My steak was cooked to perfection, tender and mouth watering. The service was outstanding. The wine list is great and offers wines not traditionally offered everywhere. While it is in a strip mall once you go in the vibe feels like an urban cafe. Highly recommended. This place is located outside the corridor of Dunedin. It's in the shopping plaza. I really enjoy the food here. It's creative. It's different. It's always fresh. Buratta with prosciutto was 2 small balls with tomatoes and all kinds of tasty micro greens and a bit on balsamic vinegar, delicious! Next was an Asian calamari, which was PERFECTLY looked, light coating, and a light sweet sour orange(?) glaze, best I've had! Next was some sort of garlic shrimp. 2 shrimp had a sort of temporary coating, the rest (6 more) were in a garlic sauce in an extremely hot cast iron pan. Really good!
