I was really surprised at the service and quality of food. I have heard good things about this place in the past few months. I went on a Friday night, and the service was really slow. It wasn't just the waiting for the food that took awhile, but also getting the papers to fill out our orders. I would understand if they were busy, but they really weren't that busy for a Friday night. There are so many other AYCE sushi places that stand out compared to Miga. The food was average at best. They also forgot to bring out multiple items that I ordered, which I reordered after some time passed. The sashimi was not good. It was very bland and you could tell it was on the cheaper side. The special rolls and regular rolls were good, but nothing really stood out. The appetizers were decent. The buns for the pork buns were a little chewy because it was half hard and half soft. Normally buns should be soft and airy, but this one was flat and slightly hard. I probably wont come back for a while since I have other sushi places I like. I think this has officially become my new favorite AYCE sushi spot. I've had this place bookmarked for a while but I finally decided to come check it out today and I'm almost mad at myself for not doing so sooner. Miga is located in a small shopping center so parking isn't an issue. The outside doesn't look like much but the inside is spacious, clean, nicely decorated and has a nice ambiance. The AYCE sushi option offers a variety of different appetizers, sashimi, regular rolls, specialty rolls, and either fruit or ice cream for dessert. I tried almost all of the specialty rolls on their menu and all were delicious. The fish is good quality and served fresh. I only wish there were more eel specialty rolls since that's my favorite, but no biggie. Plus, the price for all of that just can't be beat! Presentation was great and service was also spot-on. Have been here here twice in this past week and love it. From the staff to the decor to the food everything is wonderful. If your looking for an all you can eat this is it. I have had Miga rolls before and enjoyed them. Today I ordered the chicken tempura roll and the Denville king roll and was not happy with the food at all. The chicken roll was absolutely bland, no flavor, and rolled very loosely. Kind of like it was someone's first attempt at doing a roll. The king roll was a bit better, but also pretty flavorless. Tried their all you can eat for dinner with a few friends and thought it was definitely worth the price. Make sure to make reservations for dinner as it does tend to get packed. My only compliant is that the waitress tends to be a little rude and watch over you once they drop off the check. It becomes a little uncomfortable as you're trying to figure out tips. mmm. so disappointed. i heard this place was good from all of my church friends but when my friends and i came here last night, it was anything but good. we did the AYCE which is pretty cheap ($22.95 all day everyday) but the price reflects the quality of the sushi. we made a reservation for 5 for 7:30 and they honored it which was good because this place is usually packed. we were seated quickly and were able to order our drinks then and there but they took beyond forever with picking up our order, bringing the food out (constantly forgot our appetizers), and refilling our water. the food itself wasn't fresh and did not taste good. so unfortunate. don't recommend unless you want some mediocre sushi/sashimi and you're in a tight budget. read more

I've been to the Denville location a couple times before, so I had high expectations and was honestly expecting to be disappointed considering some scathing Yelp reviews. To my surprise, my friend and I actually like this location better than the Denville one because the Denville location is cramped and not as modern in comparison. The service was quick and the waitresses were welcoming. The food came faster than we expected and the quality was the same as the Denville location. Miga in Wayne seems fairly new and we didn't feel rushed at all. We arrived around 5 o clock and the restaurant was pretty empty but when we left around 7 there were considerably more people. Most special rolls include some type of "spicy" mayo or cooked fish which was not to our liking. 90 minute dining limit; our first round took almost 30 minutes to arrive which felt intentional (only one other table occupied), then they proceeded to rush us through our 2nd order, and finally, asked if we wanted a desert instead of offering us a 3rd round of sushi. The waitstaff definitely set the pace so that we would not order a 3rd time. Portion size of the sashimi and kitchen appetizer was disappointing. Order a bunch of things: Kani Salad- which actually came complimentary which was a great surprise - loved it. Spicy creamy just as it expected. Miso soup + house salad included free as well also good hard to mess up yes, but I have seen it happen so I was happy with Miga's ! Green tea mochi- always a favorite. Sweet Potato Roll, mango avocado roll, spicy roll combo all classic rolls really good and simple Beef Negamaki wasn't the best I've had, not terrible but I probably wouldn't order again. Got a few other rolls, Rainbow Roll and Ms. tiger roll also really fresh and well done. I'd wish I'd looked more into the special rolls because they probably weren't the most exciting choices but was starving. Overall really good solid option ! In the far future when normal dining returns I'd love to try their all you can eat as it seems like a great deal. This rating comes strictly from the roll craving I was experiencing. This was my first time ordering from Miga so I ordered 10 specialty rolls (cause, why not?). Rolls were only average in size and lacked the complex flavor profile I've experienced at other shops. The quality of the fish seemed fine and the hot entrees (shrimp teriyaki) my kids had were also very good quality. Had their all you can eat the first time and was a complete disappointment. First round, they only gave us half of what we ordered, I assumed there was another plate coming cause we were missing multiple items . When I did ask the waitress, she said that was the entire order and told us to reorder. Second round all the items were present but just gave less than what we ordered and by that time we just gave up since they took forever. Theirs AYCE sashimi portions are probably half the normal size. Menu selection was pretty dismal. Their tuna wasn't fresh, mackerel tasted pretty bad and was the smallest portion I've ever seen, like a 1/4 of the normal size. Just annoying that they play games, not sure if it was just they were too busy and couldn't fulfill our order or just wanted to wear us down. It's conveniently located near Corrado's on Berdan, and discovered it on Yelp after a quick search to fulfill a sushi craving immediately post-partum. It was incredibly satisfying! Though we've only experienced take-out, we cannot wait to try the all you can eat option for only $22.95 soon. The sashimi tastes fresh, and the fish to rice ratio is superb; I've never had such large salmon sashimi chunks in a roll before! The Denville location prides itself on serving your order as quickly as possible so that they can get you out and get another customer in. This place probably believes they will save money by serving you as slow as possible so that by the time your order comes... you have lost your appetite. Friday Lunch Crew continued on our International search for a different cultural food every week with a visit to the small, unassuming Miga Sushi in Denville. You could tell this place has to have something special as it remained packed during the whole time we were there, well after the lunchtime crowd. All you can eat Sushi and they weren't holding back as the waitress was very friendly and quick in bringing all our requests and we didn't hold back on ordering. The quality of the food was excellent and it was clearly very fresh. We basically tried everything from apps through dessert and everyone agreed it was a great value for what was a great variety of soups, salads, appetizers, Sashimi, Sushi and specialty rolls, and we all did "eat all we could eat". Located in a strip mall, this place had a good variety of sushi, sashimi, specialty rolls, and appetizers for those who wish to get thier sushi-feedbag on for a mid-twenties price tag. Service was good, quick, and friendly. I believe this place was recently taken over by new management/ownership. Nothing during our visit here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon earned less than 4 stars. A fine experience, and I'd drive slightly out of the way to come here again. Though when I was there recently during lunch time and it was slow, I was sitting waiting for my food when one guy came in and they served him before me. Not only do they offer sushi during all-you-can-eat-sushi, but they also offer soups, appetizers, deserts, salads, and various hand rolls, sashimi, you name it. The pricing is very cheap considering it's as much sushi as you want. I believe the pricing is around $28 after paying 18% tip and tax. While it did take a while for them to make all the sushi, you still have that my group had 7 people and they had to make sushi for not only our large group, but several other tables too. I tried Miga tonight for the first time. Not crowded so was able to be seated right away. Not a huge place , simply decorated. I have to say no smiles or friendly welcome by staff. Tried specialty rolls as well as a dry kani salad and some really not good chicken teriyaki. The chicken was so tough and chewy that it was inedible with absolutely no flavor, very disappointed. Overall for the all you can eat factor the price was average but small servings encouraged to order more. The sushi was fresh and for that alone it makes it worth the price.
