This company takes pride on advertising themselves as providing very qualified service and professional. My experience with them has been a nightmare. Placed a service request for a noise inside my walls. The technician they sent was not qualified to detect the reason for the noise. The service was set for $99. Tech didn't resolve the issue, and charged me $274 for not resolving my issue, abd wasting my time. I was under the understanding I was signing for the service call, but the tech had added fees I didn't agree on, and for a resolution I didn't received. I have been disputing the charges for over a year. They keep telling me that the bill will be resolve, but they were lying to me. A year passed, and I didn't received a 2nd bill. Thought the bill was resolved, as they said, but to my disappointment, I received the bill again. Called, they said it will be resolved. A few more months passed. The bill showed up again. They said I was in collections, but unable to provide info. about the collection agency that was sent to. Referred me to Corporate. Talked to 3 reps. No resolution. They sent me back to Midway. They said they knew nothing about it. Called back to corporate. They connected me to a supervisor named Liz, she said Austin was ready to talk to me, refused to give me his number. She disconnected the can, and Austin never called. At this point, I am not willing to pay that bill, as it has costs me more to have called them to begin with, than it cost me to resolve the noise inside my walls, which only took 2 minutes to resolve, should the technician had been able to distinguish a water noise, vs an electrical noise. A friend, over the phone, many hours away was able to detect that it was a water leaking from my garden house outside my house. Do not use this company, as, you would not be able to resolve an issue that might present to you, due to their incompetence. So far, throughout my life, I have been able to maintain a credit score of 850. They are willing to ruin that instead of holding accountability, and maintain customer satisfaction. I am very disappointed in their services. They are a pricey company and with that, I would expect more reliability and care. I previously had a good experience with them so we signed up for a contract for water and air maintenance. The last time they came out to check the air, the workers broke the stairs to our attic. I understand that accidents happen but instead of being transparent and letting me know, they just closed the attic stairs and left. We reached out to management and never received a call back. More recently, I scheduled an appointment to have our annual water inspection and have the salt replaced. It was a four hour morning window in which I had to arrange someone else to take my kids to school. No one came. And when I called, no apology was given. I have used them for both plumbing and AC for several years and each time I give them a chance to improve their service but they fail each time so I finally left them. I have been waiting a month now for a refund, each time I call for a status update I keep getting excuses or no one returns my calls. I am huge DIY'er. I had a leak in my toilet. My wife saw this as an opportunity to by a new version of a toilet. I removed the old one and found the source if the leak. Part of the flange was broken allowing water to leak out. I called Midway as they were ranked high on Google. The service technician came out and gave me an estimate of $919. I thought thus was high but my wife wanted the repair done then. The service was great and very professional. I called my old plumber who was not available along with some other plumbers. The general rate was $250 to remove the old toilet AND install a new one. The prices to remove and install a new flange ranged $145 to $195 - or a total that is less than half of what I paid. In my opinion I was ripped off. I did see that someone from Midway responded to one of my postings that the price was justified as they provided quality service. There are tons of highly qualified lawyers that don't charge over $450 an hour. MY ADVICE (AND OPINION) IS TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!​ read more

One of my mini splits was no longer working. - I called 08.02.22 and set an appointment for someone to come out 08.03.22. - Tech came out on 08.03.22 and said that he needed to look up some parts for repair and left. - 08.10.22 I called back for a status update and was told that they were still looking for parts and pricing. - 08.19.22 I called back asking what date was a tech to come out to fix my A/C unit. It was not until THIS DAY that they want to relay to me that they don't service my brand of mini split. They had me wait 3 weeks (August mind you) to tell me they couldn't help me when they new this up front and chose not to tell me. Very disappointed in Midway's service. We have a AC unit, split system that was originally installed 6 years ago. Right from the start, it had a leak from a faulty installation. Through the years we have tried to get it fixed but the same leak keeps popping up. This time when we called, the dispatcher said we would have to pay for someone to look at it. She wasn't willing to take the history of this unit into consideration. And we have had major work done with them. Central air system, multiple split units, electrical work, water filtration system, and much more. They lost a customer who spent tens of thousands of dollars over a $69 service call. They are very responsive when it comes to getting business but not helpful when long term repairs (due to their own mistakes). Go somewhere else! read more

I used Midway for hvac, plumbing and electrical for 5 years. I knew their prices were higher but was willing to pay it because i was happy with their service and liked having 1 company for all service needs. Never again. AC stopped blowing recently, the technician inspected the unit and advised me that a fan had stopped working which had caused multiple additional problems that couldn't even be addressed or priced until the fan was replaced, which would take at least 7 days due to supply chain shortages. The sales rep arrived 15 minutes later to sell me a new hvac system that could be installed within 2 days. The contract was a lease which i didn't know until the docs were emailed to me later that evening. $300.00 a month for 10 years. No ownership until after 10 years at which time it would be 25 percent of the original selling price of 21,000. After reading the terms and conditions i cancelled the contract (you can only cancel within 3 days of signing ). I called a competitor. Within 2 hours the competitor fixed the fan and my house was 72 degrees within 3 hours. During discussions regarding the new AC many misrepresentations were made by the company. Beware. read more

I had used Midway Services for 30 yrs, including a full master bath remodel in 2015. Every other one of those encounters were 4-5 stars. At some point the local company was acquired by the national "Service Experts LLC" who I never had the unfortunate opportunity to deal with until the blower motor in our AC unit went out in November 2021. I called Midway and a technician showed up with a salesperson that day. Pressure began immediately to replace the whole 15 yr old system instead of just the blower. A crew could be out the next day versus the uncertainty of getting parts for repair. A 10 yr service contract was offered verbally, which we were given the impression was a purchase agreement with monthly payments that would include all maintenance & repair of the system. At no time was it divulged that it was a lease & even after the 10 yr term we wouldn't own the equipment. The monthly charge was steep, but we were leaving for Thanksgiving the next week so we verbally agreed & the next morning a crew arrived to do the installation, which ended up being rushed & shoddy. It was then that I read the "service agreement" that was emailed the night before, digitally signed by Midway with my "informed" consent. Not only was it a lease, but had several limits of liability & no express warranty by the company outside the terms of the contract. It was also shown that the buyout fee was $13,000, with a sliding scale based on the age of the unit. Even after the initial 10 yr term, the buyout cost was 25% of the full fee. We were never informed of any of this, and were totally misled into believing otherwise. I contacted the sales rep and said stop the installation until this was resolved to our satisfaction. He informed us that he would be here that afternoon to settle the issue. Later he called to say he couldn't make it but would call the next day to arrange a time. Never got a call. This was Saturday, we were leaving on Monday to go out of town. Received a call while out of town, with no explanation or acknowledgement of the missed call/appointment. Only said it was day three of the right to cancel the contract, and what did we want to do. If we cancelled, we would still be on the hook for $13,000 for a single stage residential HVAC unit. I told him we were out of town and he was supposed to show up the previous weekend, & that I would take the matter up with the local office when we returned. The next week I contacted the GM to express my outrage with what had already happened, but the nightmare was just beginning. The GM had the service manager come out the next day to make a punch list of the installation issues, including air filter installed backwards, plenum support just some 2x4's unsecured to anything, bottle of some yellow liquid left by where the truck was parked, screws left on garage floor, swap out of 40 amp breaker with 30 amp with no explanation, among other things. We also negotiated a settlement , agreed to a satisfactory price of purchase & paid in full by check. He supposedly voided the lease and marked the installation paperwork as paid in full. The next day two of the install crew returned to fix the installation issues, although at this point my confidence was sketchy that there would be no problems going forward. Indeed, it got even worse. Two months later I receive an invoice for the 1st payment on the "account." It arrived on a Saturday. The service mgr had given me his cell number & told me to call him directly, so I did, as it was unnerving to think that we were still being held bound to this lease contract. He claimed not to remember the situation & would have to look into it Monday for clarification. No call Monday morning. I contacted the corporate office who confirmed the local branch had received the purchase payment but it was still processed as a lease agreement. They said they'd deal with it internally & would send me a notice of cancellation of the contract. It tooks weeks of wrangling with the corporate HQ to get documentation showing the system was owned, bought and paid for, and the warranty certificate to reflect ownership and correct location of equipment. We thought the ordeal was finally over. Three months later, I receive a letter from a collection agency for the "past due" lease payment which I stared at in disbelief. Contacted corporate office AGAIN, sent email with CC to local office threatening lawsuit if this was not resolved immediately to prevent reporting to any credit bureau. After providing documentation of ownership paid in full, I've been informed that the collections would be dropped. I still have an uneasy feeling that I have not had the last of this atrocity. Either due to gross incompetence or intentional harassment, this company is to be avoided at all costs. I have gone from being a loyal, long term customer to not referring to my worst enemy. read more

They gave me a full day window appointment for March 16th 2023, with the technician calling me about an hour before he would arrive. No one showed up! Not expecting them to call that early, I did not have my phone near me so I did not get it in time to answer. I called them right back and was told that they have already scheduled that tech to another apt. How do you not give a window of time for an apt or for a client to call back before moving on. We've used midway for over 10 years for plumbing and air conditioning. We have a bi-yearly maintenance agreement where they supposedly come and inspect everything. 6 months ago we were told we needed to replace all the duct work. 3 years ago we were told we needed a UV light kit. We did everything they said we needed. UV light cost $500. Duct work cost $6,500. Today's "inspection" said we have "biological growth" (mold) and that the UV light has burned out. Why do we have a bi-yearly inspection if they don't tell us we have a potential problem. We were never told we needed to change the UV light. They now want to charge me for removal and cleaning of the mold. I'll pay double for another reputable company to do it. Call anyone but Midway. They don't treat their long term customers right. These were the people I used to run plumbing for my new washer and install the vents for my new dryer. What pros! When they came to quote they even laid out a red carpet and had booties on. I knew right then they would take care of my home and my new hardwood floors. So the price turned out higher then I expected (it always does) but once the plumber explained all of the work he was going to do I knew it was worth it. He went over and above all expectations to make this a less then horrifying experience. From cutting out the vent hole, to patching the drywall after the install, to even working around my fat and sassy cat who lives under the sink, this guy was a pro! Midway installed a new HVAC 4 years ago. Yesterday the fan was running on when the unit was off. Parts were under warranty buy I was charged $600 to replace the part that only took 2 hours. My math tells me that $300 an hour. The worker told me they don't have an hourly rate to replace warranty parts it's a flat fee. That's a ridiculous amount of money for a free part. The county electrical inspector disconnected and RED Tagged the unit as improper and unsafe to use. This company did not attach any ground wires to the unit and then installed an over powered fuse to the unit. This company claims 24 hour service...that is pure and simply not true...After 5 pm you will get an answering service that takes a message and says they will call un the morning. I entered into their advantage program with a water softener. At the time, it seemed like a good deal. Pay monthly, have 10 years of service. Unfortunately, things in life changed and I was divorced. To have the softener installed without the contract was $2300. I attempted to cancel the contract after less than 1 year, and now they want over $4000! They say there is an "early termination fee" which amounts to $2000. Tried to negotiate and state that I would pay the $2300 - which covers the services that they provided. They declined. Even the person I talked to said "I understand what you are saying". Clearly, this company has a culture of preying on the elderly. Would definitely stay away from them at all costs. I've used Miday and their programs since I moved to the area 8 years ago. Never an issue. Not the cheapest but the best so money well spent. AC died yesterday. Called them at 9am. Hans was here at 2p to diagnose and lay out the options. Need a new AC unit. He walked through the short term band aid repairs with no sales pressure, just information Garret presented all the business information perfectly. They offered to bring in fans at no charge to try to handle it overnight if I wanted. Next morning at 9a, Jeremiah and Christian arrived to do the install and it went perfect. I rent a home in Clearwater. The tankless gas hot water heater died and needed to be replaced. Thank goodness our landlord agreed to replace it for another of the same unit. They hired Midway Services to do the job. Midway sent out a plumber, nice enough guy. He takes the old one down and puts the new one up. No fuss, no hassle, is done in a couple hours and we have hot water again, hallelujah! Move forward a few days, inspector comes out, reviews the hot water heater (which is installed outside on the wall of the house) and comes to the conclusion that everything looks great except for the fact that the gas line that runs from the gas meter to the hot water heater needs to be grounded and it currently is not. He tells me that he has to fail the inspection and have them come back out to put a ground on the gas line. No problem! This should be easy, right? WRONG! Midway is now going to send out an electrician to ground the gas line. I'm told that I don't need to be here for them to do it, except the guy gets here and ends up leaving because as he tells it, he needs to get in the house. The only part of the heater that's in the house is the control panel that sets the temperature. Everything else is outside. So Midway calls me and tells me the electrician needs to get in the house. Ridiculous I say to the dispatcher who has no clue about any of it. So we schedule for me to be here the next day when the electrician comes back. Electrician comes back, still insisting he needs to get in the house. I let him in, show him the panel and tell him it's the only part in the house. He says, "Oh, it's outside?!" Yes, I've only told everyone I've spoken to that several times not to mention that the guy that installed it was from the same company! So, we walk out to the water heater and I show him where the inspector said that the ground needed to go, on the gas line from the gas meter to the water heater. I am unable to watch him putting the ground on, but I figure he's an electrician, he should know what he's doing and also I was working from home. I ended up having to leave around the same time he finished so I didn't even see the completed work. A couple days later an inspector comes out. This is my first time looking at what the electrician did. First and foremost, he attached the ground to the wrong gas line. He put it on the line coming up from the ground into the meter. Next, instead of attaching it to the grounded pole that is right there in front of the water heater, he had drilled holes in the house and run copper piping from the gas line, about 10 feet around a corner to the electric meter ground. Infuriating. So, the inspector fails it again and after explaining the situation to my landlord she called the company and they promised to send someone out to fix it the same day. Whomever it was that came out to fix it didn't knock on the door or anything, they just moved where the copper ground was attached to the proper place. Cut to this past Monday where I had been told again that I didn't need to be there, this time for the inspector to come out. Turns out, he won't go into the gate without direct permission from the tenant or house owner. So Midway calls me again to reschedule for him to come out the next day with me there this time. They are supposed to call me back to let me know what part of the day the inspector would be coming. They never call me back. The next morning I try to call them starting at just after 7:00 am when they open and it only ever goes to voicemail, but the mailbox is full so I can't even leave a message. After about 2 hours of this, I call in to work because I don't want to miss the inspector and I don't know when he's supposed to be there. I get in touch with the city of Clearwater only to find out that the inspector had gotten permission from my landlord and came back out the day before and everything was completed. Midway did call me later that day stating they saw they had a missed call from my number, but the damage had been done. read more

It must be nice to have a monopoly. Midway Services is the provider for water, sewer and waste management in my housing development and unfortunately they have no competitors. In the year 2011, they insist on sending invoices by mail and the turn around time to get them their check turns into a gamble. It is infuriating that a service provider does not offer an auto-charge/auto-debit feature in this day and age. Heaven forbid I am out of town when the mail comes, I would never get them their money on time. Our tankless hot water heater went out on friday 2/15/21 at 545am. I called and got an appointment for the same day and Josh Barber was sent out. Josh told us we needed to replace it since it was 16 years old. I do not like cold showers and he assured me that we would only be out until Monday with no hot water. Jeff Van Scoyoc, the plumbing manager got the ball rolling. On Monday 2/15/21 Midway sent out Jeff Corkins, the plumber and Vladimir Blank the electrician. Jeff and Vladimir worked together letting us know what they were doing. They wore their mask and always knocked on the door since we were working from home. After a relationship for various services over a number of years, I call Friday to make an electrician appointment for Monday. The customer service took my name and information and created an appointment for Monday from 8 am to 10 am. I schedule a day off to be available when they arrived at 8. At 8 a.m. the phone rings and it's the dispatcher saying no technicians are available may we reschedule for Wednesday? As a customer I sense some kind of a disconnect there. Otherwise, the techs are courteous and knowledgeable. I don't mind paying more for that kind of service, but unless they can get the above described situation corrected I won't be back. read more

The tech was great, very nice. However, I called them because my pull out hose for my kitchen faucet had sprung a leak. I did some research before he arrived...The quote for a new faucet was 630 - 860. If I bought my own and had them install 310. Here is the best part....the hose that was leaking that needed to be replaced was FREE from Delta ....the quote to have Midway get the hose and install...$275.00. Plumbing work is expensive! However, the service/value we received from Midway Services was awesome. When a washer was delivered to our home, we discovered that the taps had frozen and there was no way to install. A plumber was needed. We had worked with Midway in the past, so we called them.. The technician was very professional and offered us a couple of options. Excellent workmanship, we were very happy with the results. Unfortunately, even though we had spoke to the tech about a $25 coupon we had received, we forgot to give it to him. We did not discover this until the tech had left. The next morning I called Midway and told them about the coupon. Voila--a check in the amount of $25 arrived a couple days later. Even when he encountered problems along the way with the previously shoddy work by the builder,he persevered until it was done -- and did it right.
