A few days later, the water softner was doing the same thing, so I called Tom and he again came out same day and said it needed a new timer! After going through two of them in just a few years I decided to go back to FWT. The cost of the system is definitely higher than the big box units, but I anticipate this will equal out as I only got four years out of my Whirlpool. The installation is much improved over the original Whirlpool setup, much cleaner and less cluttered. Instructions after install were clear, the water was tested prior to leaving, and suggestions were provided for the best type of salt to use. One spray of Dawn foam cleans a whole sink full of dishes. My skin doesn't require oil after a shower to feel soft. My hair loves it! And the reverse osmosis water is so delicious! Most of all, I really felt like they will stand by their product so I'm more than happy with my choice. Side note: another company offered to "price match" One Green - don't fall for that! Also, I'm pretty sure it hasn't been working this whole time because the salt had hardened and never seemed to move. I kind of ignored this for a long time because we were already spending a ton of money on other house stuff. Finally a neighbor convinced me that our plumbing would thank us and I'm also hoping it will help my baby's skin issues. I used Request a Quote on Yelp to get a ton of quotes. At the time I was trying to fix our water softener, but quickly learned from many different companies we would need to replace it. I got overwhelmed from all the information and, again, tabled it, but James continued to follow up with me periodically for over a month. It wasn't pushy, he was just checking to see if I got my water softener. Honestly, if it wasn't for his follow up I'd probably still be sitting on this project. It was super easy to schedule a time for them to come a couple days later. They are locally owned and operated so you are dealing with the boss. Chad was the one who came out and he is awesome. He noticed some things that were wrong with our pipes, don't ask me what, I don't know anything about plumbing which is why I hired them, and he fixed it! They have a 10 year warranty, which is fantastic because I don't have to worry if it breaks. They stand by their work. If you are looking for a water softener, I highly recommend them. They're professional, efficient, and they do good work.
