We have had FWT Water Softener and a RO Systems for over 16 plus years. Today we upgrade both system. We have always worked with Matt, the owner because he has always taken care of our needs. Victor did the installation today and it was painless. He's extremely knowledgeable, so talented and surpassed our expectations for this incredible installation. The caveat to this is they did everything they promised, provided two great water systems, explained everything in detail and for a reasonable price. Thanks Matt and Victor for taking care of needs today. We certainly would recommend them for your water softener and reverse osmosis needs. read more

Had them install my first unit years ago, and eventually it quit working. The plumber that installed my new toilets offered to install a Whirlpool unit from Lowe's which was significantly cheaper. After going through two of them in just a few years I decided to go back to FWT. The cost of the system is definitely higher than the big box units, but I anticipate this will equal out as I only got four years out of my Whirlpool. The installation is much improved over the original Whirlpool setup, much cleaner and less cluttered. Instructions after install were clear, the water was tested prior to leaving, and suggestions were provided for the best type of salt to use. Shawn was very professional and informative and cleaned up after completion and made sure that all my questions were answered. read more

Like to give kudos to sales rep Chris, and also to Trevor and Sean who installed my system today (10/17/25). This company was my 3rd company I called for a quote in addition to two quotes from companies that showed up at my house unsolicited. Chris was a professional salesperson that was not trying to make a sale, nor using the lame sales gimmicks that other companies try. He tested my water, made recommendations, no hard sell, no upselling. For my situation the system I needed was 1/3 the price of the competition mainly because he wasn't trying to upsell me products I don't currently need nor want. Trevor and Sean were timely and efficient. After installing the system, they educated me on service, warranty, and features. read more

They have great customer service and take pride in their work. Always one time and DO NOT talk you into anything you do not need. But they do ask about your water, before they recommend any solutions. read more

Great install by Victor, a master plumber. Not a cheap unit by any means. Determined it to be the best value for my home. Replaced a similar unit installed by FWT in 2018 with a new unit rather than a refurbished. Repeat satisfied customer. read more

Florida Water Treatment - Best water softener ever! - Water Purification Services Near Me - Dunedin, Florida

**BUYER-BEWARE** we bought a home in 2016, Over the last month we discovered an increase in our water bill. After investigation, we discovered a silver canister near our pool equipment. The canister had Florida Water Treatment Dunedin FL on the device. We called to tell FWT Dunedin, it was leaking. The tech mentioned to turn two knobs on top of device to stop leak. We asked for removal of device on same call. A couple weeks later a person shows at our home and asks for $300 to remove device. We called Christine at FWT,. Christine was rude and hasty. We asked to speak to her manager Hilary. She stated Hilary was not available. She asked to put us on hold. Next, a person named Matt Zara, who identifed himself as the owner, takes the call. Matt Zara began to question our integrity immediately, by telling us the fee was discussed when we made the appointment. It was not. Matt Zarra stated his company has been in business for 74 years and we were, "Barking Up The Wrong Tree". Matt called us hypocrites. He said his company does not want our business. He also mentioned we could not afford to pay the $300 and questioned us on asking about the fee. At no point were we not calm, we only wanted a solution on the surprise fee his company sprung on us.This $300 fee was surprising and misleading to us. Finally, the tech spit on our driveway when leaving. Tried to disguise once he saw the camera. **Our advice, find another company for this service. read more

Being new to Florida I had to use my college education and researched water softener systems. I contacted Home Depot, Lowes, a few plumbers who claim to install water softeners, and a few water softener companies such as this one. Lowes never even called me, Home Depot deals with only one company in this area and they are a rip off as well as have disrespectful sales people. The Plumbers all wanted about $100 just to give me the privilege of of them coming out and considering their estimate. So if I call out 5 then I'm already out $400. If your product is good, your price is reasonable, and your sales people are knowledgeable and friendly then you should get the business. Florida Water Treatment is all of these things and to put a cherry on top they make their systems locally and back them up with a GOOD warranty. They weren't the lowest bid, but their price was competitive and they know their business. The finished product looked great. They came by and wouldn't leave until they knew everything was working just fine. There was a minor issue on install and they ended up giving me a free upgrade. All the way around I recommend you don't consider anyone else, but these guys. You won't be disappointed. read more

Update 12/10/18 We've started a claim with BBB.org due to them damaging our BRAND NEW WATER HEATER to the point where the rod cannot be removed. Their answer to BBB: It was like that when they went back the second time with the right tools to try to remove. THEY WERE THE ONES THAT FAILED TO REMOVED THE FIRST ATTEMPT. I am not even sure they are licensed plumbers to perform such work. This is unacceptable from a "reputable company" Please see what they did to our water heater. I feel like I was taking advantage by these people. That's why I would like to share my HONEST review about the happening. read more

We are new to Florida and had researched water treatment with two other companies here in Pinellas county. When those other companies could not answer very basic questions about the equipment that they proposed installing I kept looking. All that changed when I called Florida Water Treatment and Matt came out to evaluate our situation. It was immediately apparent that Matt was formally trained and is an expert in the field. He has been involved with this multi-generational business for may years and he could answer the questions that his competitors could not. In addition he explained to me the strengths and weaknesses of my city water so we could address exactly what was needed to make our water the best it could be. We purchased a whole house system from FWT and are very pleased with our new soft water. We are also taking advantage of their "salt delivery program" with is extremely convenient and cost effective. I give my highest recommendation to Florida Water Treatment. read more

I was having an issue with iron in the well water and they came out to inspect everything. I'm not an expert with water but I have done enough research that I am a bit informed. This company was professional, timely, and most importantly, honest. They explained the issues clearly with options to solving the problem. They did not try to upsell me, but instead gave me really great advice. read more

Elite service and expertise in such a niche market. If you are looking to add a water system in your home, look no further. Matt, the owner, along with his long time installer Jason, provided us with elite service and expertise. We added a home water softener system to our home, and ever since it feels as if the water is so pristine. The system is running so beautifully, and the water is simply amazing. Along with the water softener, Matt added a tank containing anti rust stain chemicals which is attached to our well sprinkler system. This way, the iron stain all along our property is gone. We have recently gone through so much home improvement projects, and this one, by far, has been the easiest and most rewarding. Our skin, hair, countertops, etc have never been happier. The water the softener provides is simply the best. Just like the personnel at Florida Water Treatment! read more

Although we didn't end up using this service they are great. They really know their stuff and customize systems for every home.

Never realized how much I was paying in bottled water monthly (not to mention I drink high Ph - Alkaline water), until I calculated the price and it blew my mind!! So I decided to reach out to Florida Water Treatment for some help! They were able to install a reverse osmosis - high ph water filtration system in my house so now I have endless amount of high ph water to drink! I am so excited that I do not have to worry about the hassle of going to the store and buying bottled water every week or two. Not to mention what it does for the environment! Matt Zara and his staff at Florida Water Treatment have previously installed a water softener at our home and a RO system for our orchid greenhouse. In the past few years, they have maintained the systems so that they are always operating at a high level. We are extremely pleased with their knowledge, dedication, and their outstanding customer service. They always go the extra mile to see that we are happy with their products and services. They even assist us with some water-related issues that are sometimes not in the mainstream of their typical services. Just yesterday, Matt installed a new water flow meter and solenoid that controls our hydrofogger in our greenhouse. It was tedious work but he stayed with it it until it was perfect. I have operated a number of companies in my career and know what it takes to deliver great customer service. Matt and his team understand customer service and always do their utmost to please us. read more

I had really great service from FWT. Steve came out and looked at my old water softener and it was a goner (partially my fault). Gave me some info and recommendations for new softener. Got the softener installed by Jason yesterday. (There was another gentleman with him but I didn't get his name). They were extremely nice and did the work in an appropriate time frame. Cleaned up nicely too. I've had a lot of work done recently on the house and none of it has been as easy and pleasant as this. Thank you. read more

Matt (the owner) came to my house for an estimate and to locate the best place for installation. He was very professional, courteous, and didn't try to oversell me on things I didn't need (what a great concept!). My system was installed in about two weeks and everything went smoothly. My water is now fantastic; no water spots, no smells, tastes great. The service men come out on a regular basis and only deliver salt when needed, this is very much appreciated because I have dealt with other companies in the past that have said salt was needed when it wasn't. I went to their store in Dunedin seeking some simple everyday water filters and was met by two females in the front office who were, how shall I say this, not exactly welcoming to a new client. They were surly and unhelpful. When I asked if they had this filter, the one employee reluctantly went ' to the back' 'to check'. She then returned with a possible filter but stressed that I should go back home and bring the used filter, even though I had carefully measured the used filter (2 1/2 " x 9 7/8"). It truly felt like I was bothering this person and that she wanted me to leave the store asap, which I did in short order. I tried to snap this obviously unhappy with her job clerk out of it, but she was not at all interested in trying to assist me find the proper filter. Too small a client I suppose. At some point in the future, I will be buying another home and installing a full water purification system and I will under no circumstances be calling Florida Water Treatment for their services. read more
