At first, my reverse osmosis system installation did not go as planned, however, Michael D was able to use his 35 years of experience and diagnose the issues I was experiencing. Michael D also installed my water heater in 2025. His workmanship was impeccable. He is very knowledgeable and answered all the questions I threw at him. Absolutely the worst service from a company we have used for many years. Plumbing By Gus was sold recently to Air Rescue Air Conditioning. I was stood up on Friday waiting around for 4 hours for them to show up. Mike stated he didn't have a person available, why didn't they call and reschedule? Because they don't care! I finally got a call back by Mike after nuomerous attempts to get someone to reschedule. That was clearly a mistake by me! Mike promised me he would have someone there on Tuesday at 8:15 AM on Tueday. Another no show by them! I had to drive to their shop to get someone to get ahold of Mike since nobody would return my calls. Mike should not be working with people with all the decietfulness he showed. After dealing with more lies, Mike called Plumber Mike D. whom has always given us fantastic service. Job was completed but what a bunch of headaches. If you like to be treated poorly just call Plumbing By Gus! Also, their Plumbers will be paid on commision so they can agressively charge more money. Don't do business with this company! read more

I previously trusted Plumbing by Gus for several jobs, but my latest experience was extremely disappointing. A straightforward toilet leak required multiple return visits, and I was told each time that the problem was resolved. Unfortunately, weeks later I learned my water bill had doubled due to the leak continuing the entire time. Tech comes out and runs a snake, takes $200 and the next morning the stoppage is still there. Three days later another one comes and says the job would actually take two techs (another week later) because the water heater has to be taken out of the way. The next week I get a call from a dispatcher telling me that the two guys have called in sick, I'd have to wait another week and the $200 paid the first time would not be discounted. He lied on the ticket about the time he was here and added drive time yet the shop is 2 minutes away from my house. RUDE, UNPROFFESSIONAL, DEROGATORY, LEFT A MESS. Unsanitarty and clumsy work. I was nervous he was going to break something or get hurt while he was working. No disclosure of 150 automatic fee. Bill said he'd be here at 8:30, and he was here at 8:30. Within one hour he switched out our flexible tubing under kitchen and bathroom sinks, fixed a toilet shut off valve, and hooked up a water filter. He was professional, thorough, and highly efficient. The price was fair (a little over $200), and our insurance company will renew our annual policy now that these plumbing issues have been resolved. Our leak detector technician recommended this company . They were amazing and Will is a very patient service technician. It was a big job and he ended up Jack hammering through the concrete slab and finding the leak . He ended up coming 3 times and told us they were working out the price because there were a few glitches and they did not feel right charging by the hour . He cleaned and mopped after each visit and put the dishwasher back in place and reattached the under cabinet door under the sink . I was expecting a HUGE bill and was shocked and pleasantly surprised when the bill was over half what I expected to pay. Please use Gus for all your plumbing needs . Absolutely Deplorable!!! I live in a Condo Community with 5 units per building. The Tech turned the water service for at least 7 buildings to fix one outside valve with ZERO NOTICE. My Property Manager stated that they had made arrangements with Gus's weeks ahead of time, but Gus's was NOT able to give them a specific DATE/TIME that they would do the work, nor did they mention they would be turning off the water to at least 35 UNITS!!!! My wife was in the middle of a shower getting ready for work when the water cut out. I approached the Tech. (who was wearing headphones and couldn't hear me at first).. and asked if he could please turn the water back on for a few minutes as why wife needed to at least rinse off. He did not hear me, nor had he started the work yet.... Once he removed his headphones, I repeated myself. He said, NO, he can't turn ON the water...take it up with your Property Manager. I stated again, Turn on the water. By then, I was getting a bit annoyed with this person and said once more, "Turn ON THE WATER!" He then stated, after I had been attempting to keep my cool, "I don't know how you live your life or where your aggression comes from but if you don't leave I WILL CRACK YOU IN THE SIDE OF THE HEAD." Well, I looked at him, smiled and chucked and calmly walked away. (Combat Veteran Here...) He seemed further upset that I dismissed his empty threat. Fortunately, Gus's will NEVER be doing any work for my Management Company again. Oh, I failed to mention that there were 4 other residents that approached him regarding turning off the water, 3 before me and one after. His comment to the person after me (an elderly man) "Wow, People are just too sensitive here!" He was also Equally Rude to another neighbor by mocking his N.J. accent. My wife called Gus's. Unknown to me, I had a water leak under my floor. I called Plumbing by Gus and they told me what was wrong and directed me to I find Leaks. They came the same day and diagnosed that the leak was located under the hot water heater. I called back Gus and they set up an appointment for the next day. Mike came out this morning; moved the hot water heater, dug up the floor, located the leak; fixed it and the floor and put the hot water heater back, all within a few hours. So glad I found Gus's Plumbing. New to the area and bought a house and kitchen sink pipes were twisting and turning like a plate of spaghetti. Disposal was backing up into the dishwasher. Called 'Gus' and they were out within 2 hours. Danny knew exactly what to do. Called the office and within 15 minutes another truck was there bringing the pipes he'd need to reconfigure the mess. Replaced all the PVC. Had it finished and cleaned up within a couple of hours. Danny is super knowledgeable, respectful, personable and cleaned up after. Removed shoes while going in and out. Price was reasonable at $275. Can't say enough good about these guys. Will definitely call them again. read more

Horrible! Sewage backed up, first tech that came couldn't find a problem on our side and said it was the city's responsibility. That "report" cost almost $300. City came, very promptly, didn't have right equipment but found blockage. Called Gus Plumbing to send out another tech who did fix the problem but charged me again $200 this time. Experienced plumber been in this area over 30 years that i know of.had a main line stoppage and one of his workers came out and assessed the problem .due to fecal matter that my tenants put there by opening the sewage cap and digging a hole for it to fall into he could not access it (could but not easily) he ran a line thru roof access and cleared it out..this was a messy job and they were very professional anf checked all sinks snd toilets inside to make sure the stoppage was gone.the statement of cause and bill were delivered to me that same day.i was happy with the charge as well.very reasonable.they were recommended by the septic tank people and i can see why.. i will be using this company again..i would refer them as well..they give excellent service.. read more

Had them over multiple times throughout the years, whether indoors or outdoors... Wonderful people! And even though I am a Florida Master General Contractor - still licensed; I AM RETIRED! I thought I had seen everything, likewise the boys from GUS too... until we had to, not once, not twice, but three times over had to unclog the old cast iron septic drain line... the Amazing things we've found that were clogged up the pipe and HOW did that ever get in there still remains a mystery. The 3rd time - we both worked together and really made sure that drain line was completely clear from one end to the other! Things we have found in the drain line: 1950s' - early 1960s' Women's Swim Cap; late 60s' to early 70s' Matchbox and Hotwheel cars, 1950s'-1960s' Era Cotton Towels (you can tell by the design); a late 1960 to early 1970 Men's (not Women's) Girdle. How they ever got in the pipeline still remains a mystery (The home was built in 1955)... But using my old (which finally died most likely from fright from seeing what was in the pipeline) light and camera... we did find out that there was a metal "Spur" that was snagging things...the usage of my old Lightning Rod (6 foot steel rod) and banging the metal spur worked! But they have repaired toilet, replaced an old original wax gasket, replaced kitchen faucet... RECOMMEND! read more

With no intent of waiting a bunch of time in an attempt to find a plumbing person and another "what seems like forever" in line to pay for the item(s) that I would purchase at Ace Hardware, I opted to go to Home Depot. Earlier yesterday morning I had removed my leaking and "limed up" stem from the center of the cartridge in the valve in my guest shower. After finally finding a guy there at Home Depot who was extremely busy in the plumbing department, he quickly brushed me off and showed me a book that was inclusive of photos of hundreds of products that resembled my defective one. Coincidentally, as he walked off he also shared that I might find a place in Dunedin somewhere around the high school named something with GUS in it. So I turned to Google and found Plumbing Services By Gus. Easy to find and just about five minutes from my home in downtown Dunedin I found Gus's old place. Upon arrival I was graciously greeted by Tim, who took my part and shared that I needed a new cartridge. Tim said that he had replaced a bunch of them when he was in the service side and also told me that I didn't have all of the part and that some of it was still in the valve at home. At that point I thought I was destined to fail. Tim assured me that the procedure was simple, told me how to repair the problem and replace the cartridge, sold me the new cartridge and then loaned me the tool to do it with! I got back home and was so proud of what I had done on the south side of our duplex, that I just figured that I should also check and replace the north sides' guest bathroom shower valve also. As a rule, if I replace something on one side I always check and or replace other sides also. Now the north side was a challenge. I returned the tool to Tim just before they closed on Tuesday and purchased another cartridge for the north side of my duplex. Yes, I borrowed another tool and returned to change out the other side. This time, I broke the valve and accepted my defeat. I then inserted the old stem, replaced the cotter pin and turned water back on for the evening. Promptly at eight am I returned the tool and hared my dilemma with Tim. Knowing that I was in "water over my head" I then requested a service call by a qualified technician and replacement of the faulty valve and cartridge. Tim shared that the technician would be here today between twelve and two pm. Exactly at twelve, a young man named Danny arrived in my driveway. With a great smile, a professional demeanor and courteous and respectful mannerism this young man came in and within an hour and forty five minutes he repaired and replaced my broken valve and put all the mess back together. I am EXTREMELY pleased with Plumbing Services' By Gus and share that my money was well spent, I received prompt and courteous, professional service and a product with a life time warranty.
