I contacted Alpha Plumbing to address a clogged main line. I initially attempted to clear the clog…read moremyself using a small auger but was unsuccessful. Due to time constraints caused by work and my wife's ongoing cancer treatment, I sought professional help. Alpha Plumbing inspected the line with a camera and attempted to clear the blockage, but the issue persisted. The plumber then recommended a full pipe system cleaning for $3,500, citing a drop in the main line as the cause. This seemed excessive, especially since there had been no prior history of such problems. Although the plumber ran water through the system and it initially appeared to flow properly, the issue returned five days later, resulting in flooding when the washing machine and dishwasher were used. When I contacted Alpha Plumbing again, the owner suggested the septic tank might be full--despite the fact that I had recently had it pumped--and proposed a new main line installation for $1,500. This was after I'd already paid $475 for their initial, unsuccessful service. At that point, I decided to handle the issue myself. I located the access cap to the pipe, cleared the clog within ten minutes, and resolved the problem. I provided the owner with photos and an update, but he insisted the issue would likely return. As of today, I have had no further issues. As a homeowner, you expect professionals to offer clear diagnoses and reasonable justification for large, costly repairs. Alpha Plumbing never opened the main line or provided photographic evidence of a blockage. That lack of transparency and follow-through was disappointing.

John recommended a Grundfos 'Comfort System' which is a pump installed at the water heater and some gizmo piping under the master sink. WOW what a pleasure to turn on the faucet or shower and have it hot in seconds. Great solution and great product - but the best was finding a real professional who responds quickly, does what they say, when they say, for a fair price, and treats your home with respect... always wearing foot covers.. and cleaning up the job to better than they found it. So this Sunday morning, about 10AM, I decided to taker a shower in the master bathroom. When I was…read moredone and drying off, My nephew who is living with me, comes yelling "John," "John". There's an inch of water in the guest bathroom". I wrap the towel around me and go into the guest bathroom and there's an inch of black, sewer water on the floor of the guest bathroom. The guest bathroom has a shower that is an open design behind a wall with no bathtub. So if water comes up threw the shower drain, it's going to be all over the entire bathroom floor. I then go into the attached garage and find the front-loader washer and stationary tub both half full of black sewer water. So, we go into clean-up mode, and apparently with me ending my shower the water started to have a chance to start slow draining and eventually we had all of the water swept to the shower drain and gone. And the washer and stationary tubs drained as well. However, there was still some sort of partial clog, and we weren't going to be able to wash clothes or take showers or flush toilets in the house until the clog was fixed. Bob Hyps was in my contact list because he had installed my water heater about 8 years ago. I dial a number I have not dialed in 8 years, and Bob literally answers in two rings. He was at my house within the hour, and on my roof sliding a plumber's snake down the plumbing exhaust pipe on the roof. He was done by 3PM. Bob's an absolute life saver. To find a plumber, for a clog disaster, on a Sunday morning, and it's all fixed and done by 3PM. Are you kidding me???? I'll call Bob every time when it comes to a plumbing matter. He's been doing this for a lot of years and knows his stuff backwards and forwwards.

I had a really great experience with Rahn Plumbing and would definitely recommend them!…read more Robin was very nice and helpful when I called to schedule. My situation wasn't an emergency, but she was still able to get me in the very next day, which I really appreciated. She gave me a 9-11 a.m. arrival window for Paul and said he would likely arrive around 10. She also provided a quote based on the information I gave her. Paul showed up right at 10 a.m., and I received a call about 20 minutes beforehand letting me know he was on his way. Paul was fantastic. He was very friendly, personable, and easy to work with. He even liked my dog, which is always a plus! I showed him the area where we were having problems, and he got right to work. He cleared my main line and, while he was there, noticed a few other things that needed attention. He replaced a toilet fill valve, capped my refrigerator water line from the water heater, and replaced a busted valve. He was able to get a lot accomplished in about two hours, and I felt the price was very fair (matched the quote I was given) for the amount of work he did. They do charge a small credit card fee, but I had already seen that mentioned in other reviews, so I was prepared for it, and it was minimal. Overall, I really appreciated the responsiveness, professionalism, and quality of service. Robin made scheduling easy, Paul did a great job, and I felt like I got a lot accomplished in a relatively short amount of time. I would absolutely use Rahn Plumbing again and I will recommend them to others!

I wish I could rate them higher since scheduling was so easy, the plumber showed up on time and was…read morevery friendly. However, the performance was a major disappointment. I really doubt if he's a certified plumber, very hard to believe. Good customer service, but unfortunately, very unprofessional. The requested service was: 1. Replace a water stopper in bathroom sink 2. Replace a toilet fill valve that sometimes will not fill unless I tap it. No other issues. It took him much longer than I expected, but he finally replaced both! I was very pleased until I flushed the toilet. - there were 2 NEW issues now: 1. The toilet will no longer flush all the way unless I stand and hold the handle down for several seconds 2. Much weaker and lower pressure flush. I pointed out the issues right away and he said that nothing can be done because the toilet is old! Well... as I mentioned, it took him a while to replace the parts, but I really don't think that my toilet aged that much during this time! I didn't have those issues when my toilet was about a couple of hours younger. For the purpose of fair rating, I came up with a formula - 2 issues resolved at 5 stars each. 2 new issues he created are zero stars each. That leaves me with 2.5 stars. Yelp doesn't allow half stars, so I wrap it up to 3 for their timely response and I'll forgive him for calling my toilet old.
