I called midway to repair the faucet in my bathtub.The job took less then 10 minutes and he charged me $260 to replace the faucet with cheap brand that broke 3 weeks later.He spent more time checking out my collectibles then he did actually working.The service was mediocre at best and the price was outrageous.The part on the faucet was the lift lever for the shower and it snapped off from corrosion in a short time.I asked about the price and he said that was standard.I will not use them again nor would I ever recommend them to anybody. read more

They sort of know what they are doing. We had them reset a toilet. $450 if you can believe it. It looked like a 12 year old caulked it. Recently they diagnosed a water pressure problem as the faucet. Another ridiculous $1000 plus for a Chinese kitchen faucet. The clown wanted to show my wife how good the pressure was and squirted her in the face. If you own a business beware!!! I tried to go the professional route when getting my AC serviced for my business so I called Midway Services and that is where things fell apart. I had the guy come out "field supervisor" and I paid to have the maintenance plan he recommended two things to be fixed (AC lingo) all I know is it was almost $1200.00 ok no problem seems like he knows what he is talking about and I have a maintenance plan so if I was to have problems in the future they would come out....little did I know! I turned on the AC later that day it was blowing nothing but hot air....im like ok... called them the following day talked to the "manager" and he assured me that they had qualified workers and they did a thorough check turns out that a piece "AC Lingo" needed to be cleaned... im like ok why wasn't that piece checked during the maintenance check? The "field supervisor" said he made a mistake and he apologized! I guess shit happens.... i felt empathy and understood and trusted after I spend $700.00 to get a piece cleaned that my customers will have AC....boy was I wrong. I turned it on for the 1st time a week later and the AC doesn't even come on. I call them again not very happy but trying to get to the bottom of the issue.... they now say that a blower fan went out.... If I spend this $900.00 and this AC still doesn't come on im coming to Clearwater and getting a full refund or getting arrested one or the other because they are playing with my time and money 2 things that I do not play with. I have an older AC so I would respect if they said hey your system is too old to work on, but they made it seem like they could repair it... you know they hit me with the just get a new system. If you cant repair a system why would I allow you to install a new one? The dumb part on my end is not being there when they "fixed it" either time to verify it works.... and trusting that an expensive AC company knows what they are doing. Hi I've been with Midway Services since 2011 they are really overpriced but they were pretty amazing about 3 years ago I had them put in a New Lennox air conditioner when it was according to them $14,000 and change I don't have a computer I only have a phone so they put my contract in the phone and by the time I was able to read it because I'm not text Abby the thing was $16,000 most $17,000 when I was able to complain to them they said it was too late I got ahold of a lawyer and of course I couldn't do anything because I had signed the contract they finally sent me a hard copy about 2 months in I need to tell you to stay away from these people they are absolute sharks I understand its buyer beware but you would think with they would stand up and do something but they did not I have told them that when the contract is over its seven-year lease which is called indentured servitude I will have the air conditioner pulled and have someone else put a new one in that is not least thank you very much just be careful of these people stay away! read more

I called at 11:30 to have plumbing work done. They said they could come by today and would be here by 5. At 5pm I had to call them only to find out the plumber would not be here until 6:30 at the earliest. If the Rep on the phone had been honest with me about the days work load I would have booked another day. Instead they cram me into the schedule and can't deliver. I called and they offered someone to come out same day. Looking for a emergency shut off for a gas connection to put in a natural gas grill. Man arrive promptly and there's where it fell apart. He told me I needed a permit, and was offering a "check" to make sure there was gas at the site. (which I knew there was) which there was a charge. He never really answered my questions and I finally asked could he do it and how long would it take and would it be over $300 and he said more....he said the permit alone was $150 and it would be awhile......There was nothing in his conversation that made me think he knew what he was doing or his was taking me for a fool. I had already done some preliminary work on this and said No Thanks. I called TECO and they gave me a recommendation of Plummer who worked on gas connections. He is doing the job for $200 and will have it done it a hour. Insult to injury. I called and spoke to Customer Service Mger with Midway and she wasn't interested at all in the situation . She totally defended the actions of her employee. She obviously wasn't listening. She was non apologetic and is in the wrong business. read more

After waiting over 1 hour past the appointed time, I phoned their Office, and received absolutely no assistance from their office. I would avoid this company at all cost. I scheduled them to come out to deal with a simple drainage clog. I was given a quote of almost $3,000. Actually my wife was given the quote which begs the question of whether the company was trying to take advantage of my wife being female and being unfamiliar with plumbing work. After I advised how outrageous the quote was, it was quickly dropped by almost $1,000. With the quote still being outrageous we called another company that was able to take care of it on the spot for about $300. I can't imagine the number of unsophisticated consumers, retirees and the like that his company has taken advantage. My suggestion would be to avoid them at all cost. read more

Called with an electrical issue. They were very responsive and sent out an electrician that day. Called an hour before the electrician would come as a heads up. Kevin was personable, took the time to explain the issue, and even helped me with an extra project that I had. The initial troubleshooting cost was a bit high, but the other charges were competitive. (Posting this review for family member who lives in Florida with no internet access) Extremely disappointed in the service. Technician seemed nice and did most of work but checked on box JOB NOT COMPLETE. Said he wanted to get a different part and was included in cost. Said no additional charges for part or labor once it comes in. We paid total and he said he would be in touch. Weeks went by, no word. Finally someone calls and says part is in and says it will be $100 more! Explained what technician said and she said that was impossible. Finally spoke to technician who said sorry, part is not really in. Then said he will replace with whole new part for $50. We flatly refused, since we had already paid for the job in full, which was a little high, ($231 to recondition our kitchen faucet!) but since it was supposed to include the second visit we did not complain. Now they are trying to charge an additional $50 or $100?!?! This company had terrible communication with us and with each other. They promised one thing and then refused to deliver. MID-WAY TOO EXPENSIVE: Called them for an issue with irrigation pump. They demanded and I paid $40.00 for visiting the property and checking on the issue. The plumber came and checked the pump. I was not available at the property and hence we had telephone conversation. He was very cordial. He checked the pump and said it is beyond repair and would need a replacement and gave me an instant quote. We talked about couple of options and I wanted to seal the pump and run reclaimed water. For laying the pipe for the reclaimed water the plumber gave a quote for $1200.00 and in case I wanted to replace the pump he gave a quote for $1300.00. I thought the price was too high and got his manager's number and called him, His manager also repeated the same. I asked him is he serious on giving me a price of $1300.00 for laying a 40 feet pvc pipe, he answered in the affirmative and went on a big sales talk on their work and the company being insured and bonded. After this I started looking around, I had a well expert and three plumbing companies visit the property (NO VISITING CHARGES). Finally selected a company to remove the irrigation pump and install reclaimed water line. Paid only $350.00 and got new pipe laid, repaired broken sprinklers and passed city inspection. By the way the well pump expert gave me a quote for $950.00 to replace the pump and repair sprinklers. Lost $40.00 to Midway and gained nothing. Check other companies before you commit. Beware! I called Midway because my AC was acting up, possibly due to an electrical issue. They came out, ran a couple of tests, said all was well, and left. The next day, my brand new AC died. Another company came out and determined I had some faulty wiring, to the point of a fire hazard. Number 1: why didn't Midway catch a fire hazard?? Number 2: if they had caught the issue, my 5 month old AC wouldn't have fried. Very negligent and I'm infuriated that they essentially stole the service call fee, put my family in danger, and cost me a new AC compressor. read more

Called to acquire a quote, scheduled the tech appointment. Then Monday wasn't available, but the Tech would be in Tuesday between 8 am to 10 am. Well, it was way after 10 am when I called back; and was told Bill and Gail Wolf no longer owned Midway and it was now a Corporate; any previous relationship were no longer validated. Well, I told her what the usual quote was and if it still remained the same; as I was expecting maybe a $15 to $20 increase. Then got told the Tech makes the decision and pricing and determine what all the work needs. Hello, they were specifically informed who I am (I am a Florida Licensed General Contractor since 1972 and this includes HVAC); told them specifically what they were coming out for and they decided to derail me. Then changed the story to well you can talk to the Tech when he arrives; A/C Dispatch says he will be there within 15 to 30 minutes as he was enroute. Due to bad weather, most likely the reason why my Modem went offline; and as I always say ASSUMPTIONS AND PRESUMPTIONS WILL ALWAYS GET YOU IN TROUBLE. I GUARANTEE IT! She assumed I hung up and she went ahead and CANCELED the call claiming there were no call back number (yes there was because they called back to give the appointment time). So I went outside to wait for the Tech; and over an hour and some minutes later - NO SHOW. And I called back to find out where the Tech was.... THEY - YES, MIDWAY CANCELED THE SERVICES UNDER THE ASSUMPTIONS AND PRESUMPTIONS I HAD HUNG UP ON THEM! Terrible. Started with a service call, after about an hour of being at my home. Tech gave a bill of $600 give or take, but offered a service plan and that would reduce the rate to $475. I took the lower bill. Use the service plan, and the tech came out. Not sure what they did. After realizing literally nothing was done, I called to complain. They sent out a tech on 8/4/17. The tech seemed to actually do something, and system was a ok. Monday 8/14/17 I arrived home to find the A/C leaking, which has caused substantial damage to my wood floors. Called Midway around 6:30pm. They couldnt have any techs come out and qoute "understood my frustration" I wouldnt use them for any service, period. First job I had done with Midway was flawless and the technician amazing, professional, knowledgable, punctual. I decided to call again for another job, a simple job of changing our Polybutylene supply lines...easy work for 10 of them in my home. This is a job that doesn't require breaking ground or anything difficult...it is simple exchanging hoses and putting in stainless, braided supply lines. They gave me an estimate of $650!!! When I asked the service man how he got to that number (price) he could not explain. I refused the work...he had the audacity to tell me as he was leaving, "This price is only good while we are here". Can you believe these people? Cheating people every day! So the manager calls me and tried to make it right and while courteous, still gave me a quote of $450! When I asked him if $650 was fair for such a simple job, he said YES! This is an inexpensive and quick job. I am a single mother of 3 small children...This company is disgusting. They are crazy to underestimate the customer! This is the first negative review I write in my life. I felt compelled to write this because it was a blatant attempt to take advantage of me. Stay away from these thieves. We have been very impressed with the employees when we have spoken on the phone or a professional has come out to help solve a problem. We called Midway Services when we had a water line break in our yard. The technician fixed it, left the yard great, and told us about some of the other services Midway provides. I have used Midway for plumbing, electrical and today air conditioning. The people who work for Midway are simply the best. Not only friendly but helpful and extremely knowledgeable and professional. Midway has fixed pricing and does not charge by the hour. My air conditioner stopped cooling, I had the thermostat set to 78 but the temp was 88 and rising. I called Midway at 3:45pm and was told someone would be at my house by 7pm. After I hung up I was called back an told if I was home someone would come right now. I was very happy. Shane came over and fixed the problem. He gave us the price as quoted and all applicable discounts. Shane was a pleasure to talk with and he gave us a lot of information so we can make an informed decision regarding replacing our 13 year old system. After fan circuit repair and coil cleaning the cost was $378. I am very pleased (again) You can not do better than Midway. read more

We have been a client for many, many years and they proved to us that our business was important to them. I would like to start this review with just how good their services were & with the professionalism & work ethics of employees for a company that really is customer oriented. My Mom crossed in December of 2018 & her house was in the Old Northeast.. The electrical failed the four point inspection & it needed a lot of work done to bring it up to code. I called several other electrical contractors & some individual electricians & all said the job was to big for them or they only do commercial jobs. I called Midway Services & they sent out Rob Marcolin to give me an estimate on the work that needed to be done. Rob looked at the job & told me that he would have to get another tech out with more expertise for a good estimate due to the work that needed to be done. This gave me the feeling that wow here's a company that cares enough about it's customers to give them a proper estimate instead of one that is just approximate. Thanks to Rob Marcolin for being honest enough to tell me that he didn't have the needed expertise. Two days later I had Greg Luinski come out & he did have the expertise to give me the estimate & said that they could do the work that I needed to pass the 4 point inspection. The very next day Greg Luinski & Vladimir Blank came out & worked for a straight 12 plus hours to get the house up to code. The work they did was exceptional & the cleanup they did left the area cleaner than when they started their job. These technicians were very professional & the amount of knowledge they had about the electrical work that needed to be done was on point. I have been wanting to do this for over a year, so maybe they have improved. October 2010 my wife returned to our house in Florida to find all of our appliances shot. Progress energy said thier was a lighting strike. The Tech told my wife the Frig was done and sold her a $200.00 replacement. It was not untilI returned several months later that we found a person that was able to replace the blown circut ($75) and the frig was up and running. I guess I am still in a state of shock - and kicking myself, too. I paid this company almost $500 to install (my own) bathroom sink faucet, put up a shower bar, and replace a valve on the toilet. Disgusted with my interaction with Midway this morning. Was told $40 for a plumbing quote when I explained over the phone that the plumbing issue is internal piping. Tech showed up on time, but it went downhill from there. Tech listened to what I said about my drainage pipe concern, stood in the middle of the kitchen. Said he had to go outside to look around. I watched him walk straight from my front door to his truck, where he sat and smoked a cigarette and leafed through a booklet for 10 minutes. Came back and told me he needed $225 to bust open the wall and tell me what was wrong. In mid-discussion, answered his cell phone and walked out! I closed the door, figured we were done. Ten minutes and another cigarette later, he was at my front door, requesting his $40 "quote fee". For what, I'm not really sure - he never quoted me or told me what the problem was! I kindly told him to take a hike and called customer service and asked for a supervisor, who attempted to get me to pony up the $40. I'm not paying $40 for you to smoke two cigarettes and not tell me what's going on with my plumbing! He left me with an unresolved plumbing issue and two cigarette butts in my driveway. Class act. They STINK! My air conditioner broke and they sent out two guys that were so creepy! They wanted to charge me $549 for 6 pounds of freon and $277 for a broken switch just to get the air on. They then told me I have a leak and too look for it would cost at least another $450 to find it but they felt, without looking, that I had many pinhole leaks and should just get an new unit. How much we asked - the answer was between $7000-$10000. My condo is only 1400 square feet. After some haggling THEY SAID IF I BOUGHT IT RIGHT THEN AND THERE I could get it for $5746. Do not use this company. They installed a heat pump unit for my mother in law in Port Richey FL. This was the worst install I have ever seen. I am a hvac contractor in CA and have seen some bad installs but this one is by far the worst ever. I have pics of to put on my wall of shame installs. They took advantage of an elderly woman and her daughters while she was in the hospital. Despicable is all I can say. When I stepped in and contacted them to get the work corrected they just gave the ol' brush off. Still isn't corrected and now my mother in law cannot sale the home until she addresses the problems. She will have to pay another company to finish the install and fix the problems to sell it. All the while she is in CA now living with my wife and I due to her health. The leak was visible and I pointed it out. That did not matter. There policy is to charge charge charge. Ran the guy off but still had to pay for his service call. Threatened to call police on me for non payment. Called a regular guy off Craigslist. Had it repaired next day. The repair was not done properly. Midway tech soldered a copper tube that should have been replaced. He overheated the tube making it brittle. They caused the leak and wanted double cash in it! DO NOT USE MIDWAY SERVICES! read more
