This review is long overdue. In 2022, we were looking for vinyl plank flooring for our new condo and stumbled upon Midtown. We had been to several other places but didn't see anything we liked, and the places we visited offered zero customer service. We met Max as soon as we walked into Midtown. Not only do they have a great selection of samples of all different types and brands of flooring, but Max gave us a very comprehensive education on all the options, which is exactly what we were looking for. They did a perfect job tearing out our old flooring and complying with HOA requirements on installation of the new flooring, including leveling our very old floors. Four years later, we are still very happy and have experienced no issues with our flooring. After seeing all the great reviews, I called to speak to someone regarding flooring our home. The person I spoke to wasn't very friendly. He had an attitude and was upset I looked online to do some research. He went off about how it's not right to look online. I had to inform him that I wasn't looking on a random site but their company's website. If they don't like potential customers looking at their own website they should take it down. He informed me to visit the showroom because it's different and you need to see the wooden sample planks in person. So we went to the showroom and spoke to Miriam. She explained everything thoroughly. After picking out the colors we preferred, her brother was to schedule an appointment for a quote. He never called, so my husband called. When he picked up he was very rude and abruptly hung up stating he's with a customer and that he'll call my husband back. He never did. I'm so so so thankful we didn't start our flooring project with this company. The lack of communication even before the project started already gave me a headache. I realized communication is key. We went with a different flooring company (also found on yelp with a lot more positive reviews) and they were great. read more

Maxim and Myriam have been wonderful to work with from my first meeting with Myriam at their shop, to Max's follow-up. We needed to replace carpet that came with our home when we bought it with bamboo flooring to match the other floors in our home. Midtown allowed me to source my own flooring and Oscar picked up the order, dropped it off at my home the week before (so the wood could acclimate), and set the installation date. The forecast later called for rain that day, and since we don't have an attached garage so Oscar and his partner could safely use power tools during the storm, we postponed a couple of days. But Max let me know well in advance and explained the reasons thoroughly. We suspected we would need to add plywood to the subfloor because we could feel unevenness through the carpet and padding. Again, Max clearly set the expectation of an added cost and told me how much to expect. Oscar is friendly, incredibly skilled, and fast at what he does. The difference in the room is night and day. You can see from the attached photos. We're not done with the room. We need to paint, install wallpaper, and put the furniture in, but I didn't want to wait on this review for a very reliable, family-owned local business in Eagle Rock. I contacted Midtown flooring for an assessment of a new sheet linoleum floor in my kitchen. A small bump had appeared within 6 weeks of installation. Midtown flooring are a gem in the dishonest and scam-riddled contracting world! Long story short, a horrible contractor installed wood flooring over bad subfloor in our kitchen and then ghosted. The floor squeaked every time we walked on it and was so structurally unsound that it dipped under our weight in certain areas. Then, we hired a handyman friend who suggested we rip up the hardwood flooring and replace the subfloor with plywood. This resulted in a plywood subfloor that wasn't level with the cabinet subfloor and was overall extremely unlevel. At this point we were losing hope that the subfloor could ever be fixed. Luckily, I found Midtown flooring on yelp. Max came out and explained that we never should have ripped up the subfloor but just covered everything in a thin layer of plywood, which he recommended we now do. His quote was the lowest, which is amazing given that they are a family business! Additionally, their installer was amazing, checking in with us throughout the process: showing us the newly leveled subfloor, asking which way the flooring should go, did we like the grain on the piece, etc. I could not recommend Midtown flooring enough! Max's knowledge and expertise are rare in the contracting world these days. He even drove all the way to our house to pick up a flooring sample so he could find us a matching reducer, since the ones that went with our flooring were being discontinued. Observing his interaction with this other customer was a delight. He exuded politeness and insisted on carrying the sample to her car. Who does that anymore? Additionally, he's a seasoned photographer, having journeyed across the globe to capture images that would make National Geographic proud. I'd recommend finding his book online for purchase, it is stunning.. Take a moment to view the photograph I took of him proudly holding it. I just had Midtown Flooring Company replace my floors in my condo and their team did an amazing job. They had to first demo out the existing floor which included wood, marble and carpet, and then repair the sublevel flooring before laying the new wood. I used this company because I heard their work was amazing and that they had great fair prices. And let me tell you my husband and I were not let down in the slightest! The owners were great in helping us decide on what would be the best pick for our home. I loved the flooring we got, my husband couldn't see the bigger picture at first, after all was said and done he too fell in love with our choice in flooring. The warehouse had tons to choose from and any questions we had were answered right away. The quality of hard work and detail that went in to installing my laminate floors was over the top. They even re grouted our tile floors in our kitchen, laundry room and bathrooms. In fact they noticed one of our bathrooms were not level which made the grout they replaced crack. They let me know right away allowing me to make a decision on whether or not to change out the tile. I ended up changing the tile out and they replaced it that day and it came out wonderful!! Our home is around 1600sq and the whole house was done with in 5 days, I couldn't believe it! The workers were kind and smoke free which was a plus for me as well. I hate having work done and having to smell peoples cigarette smoke. I highly suggest this company, you def won't be let down. This is a five-star business and then some. Max and his team were excellent at every step in our project. They quoted replacing the carpet in our bedrooms with engineered wood floors and were clear about costs and labor. In comparison to the two other quotes I received they were fair and did not overcharge. Once it came to installation they were quick, efficient and yet they never skimped on quality or craftsmanship (in fact, their work was superior to the flooring another vendor had installed in our kitchen and living room). At the end of the job I pointed out that some quoted materials had not been used. Max subtracted them from the quote. We ended up paying less than we had budgeted, which made us feel great.
