My husband and I loved working with Mike and the M&M team. Our subfloors were in rough shape with a lot of high low areas you could feel when you walked through our home. Mike and the team were very responsive from the moment I called for a quote and throughout the entire process. When we had flooring samples we thought we wanted he said take them home so you can see how they look in our light & space. I'm so glad he did we would have picked flooring darker than we wanted for our home. Also, to save costs on rental costs we went on a trip out of state to visit family. Mike FaceTimed us everyday so we could see their progress. And we returned home to beautiful flat floors. We highly recommend choosing M&M for your flooring project. read more

Repeat customer here. We have had flooring and carpeting installed by M&M. This time was flooring for the kitchen. A bit complicated, a lot of math involved doing an innovative checkerboard style, they nailed my vision. I have a mid-century home In Burbank. And we like to try to keep the house to the vibe of the age of the home. Always get excellent customer service with Mike, Evelyn and the entire crew. I would highly recommend them for any flooring project you have in your home. read more

I had outdoor carpet installed and M&M was trying a new product. The carpet was fine, but the plastic sections that hold the carpet in place over the stairs was not good quality. Mike redid the whole installation (carpet included) without charging me extra. We had the carpet installed using a different manufacturer with a better product and I am very satisfied. I am aware that other companies would not have been accountable after the check was paid, but not M&M. Mike took accountability for an inferior product and redid the entire installation at no cost. I am very impressed with his honesty, customer service, and desire for a job well done. read more

What a breath of fresh air! The people at M&M are honest, professional and helpful! I was trying to match an existing wood floor in another room. Everyone was so helpful. They were responsive and explained everything perfectly. The estimate was well explained and reasonable. I highly recommend this business. read more

Excellent work! Very professional and trustworthy. Extremely satisfied with the results.Highly recommended!!! A+++++

They provided excellent workmanship and timely service. I would hire them again and great value for money.

Excellent experience when needing new floors in our old house. We chose engineered wood floors though M&M Custom flooring in Burbank. The owner Mike McMillan took the time to help with our decision. Then he stayed close to the job and met frequently with Obet, his foreman, and his crew, all of whom have been with Mike for at least 10 years. Early on it became obvious, especially in an older home, many on the job decisions have to be made literally on a daily basis. The whole crew had great attention to detail, worked hard, and were tidy and gentle with our house. Needless to say with this kind of professionalism every step of the way, we are extremely pleased with the outcome. It was simply a great experience, and we wholeheartedly recommend Mike and his company. read more

Pros - made effort to find a solution to our floors and reasonable quote. Cons - poor communication, scheduling issues, unsatisfactory results Out of the flooring quotes we got, Mike seemed the most proactive and knowledgeable. However, it took several follow ups to get in touch after the emailed estimate to schedule the work. We had wanted to have the floors finished by the time we moved into the house but that did not happen despite scheduling our move a week past the estimated completion date. While we appreciate the effort to find the original matching floorboards (we had a box leftover so the make/finish was known) they had issues apparently with the distributor shipping them but failed to communicate any of that to us. After a couple days of no news and ripped up floorboards, I had to contact them consistently for updates. I'm not entirely confident it was the shipping company at fault. Finally, the floorboards came in a week later but unfortunately turned out to be the wrong ones that would not fit into our existing floor. They offered to custom miter each board to fit at no extra cost but it would take an additional day to complete. This was only frustrating since we had to move everything around the missing floorboards and wait to set up anything to make our space livable. After all was said in done, our floor has raised edges and a damaged splinter. We tried weighing down the raised boards to no avail and hope over time they settle. The wall near the largest work area was left covered in dust, dirt and glue splatters. I cannot attest to the level of work completed based on the difficulty of the flooring situation. Perhaps my displeasure at the situation forced them to rush the work which left us with our non-perfect results. But I do feel that better communication would have provided a better outcome. read more

What an outstanding company! It's hard to find people like this nowadays. People that will give you a great price, do great work, show up on time, easy to deal with and that are honest. I couldn't say enough good things about Mike and his company. They fixed all the damaged wood planks, they installed new wood planks where an old floor heater used to be and blended them beautifully, they sanded all the old stain and sealer off, they gave us samples on the floor to see what we liked, then they stained and sealed the floor to our choosing. read more

The customer service was great via phone but things went downhill upon meeting in person. They sent someone out to take measurements but he only walked around the top floor and didn't even take out his measuring tape. He was very short with me when speaking about getting a quote which I never received. Given the weird vibe... I didn't bother following up. I got the sense that he made up his mind about not working with me the moment he walked in the house. read more

It's not a surprise this company constantly gets 5 star reviews. Mike and his crew were true professionals. The team brought my mom's solid red oak floors from crappy and beat up to its original beauty. They also extended new red oak to the kitchen since it had tiles before. Now the living room, dining room, and kitchen flow so much better. They were meticulous in every way. They showed up on time and worked for 5 days until the job was done. They also covered the cabinets with plastic since the refinish process was dusty, but they made sure that everything will be completely clean after they left. We would recommend them to anyone we know! read more

My experience with M&M Custom Flooring was exceptional from start to finish, and I can enthusiastically recommend them. If you're in the market for a new floor and you care about quality, this place NEEDS to be on your short list. I'm easily overwhelmed by choice. There were dozens of flooring contractors in my area, not to mention hundreds and hundreds of different floors to look at. But I had to start somewhere, and M&M was actually the first shop I happened to walk into. Luckily for me, the owner Mike was there, and for 15 minutes he sat down with me and answered all my questions. I walked out feeling a lot less confused about the whole thing. Over the next several weeks, I visited 5 or 6 different shops, talked to 3 or 4 different installers, saw more wood samples than I ever want to see again, and gathered a few quotes. In the end, my gut told me to go with Mike and M&M Flooring. They were not the cheapest quote, nor the most expensive. But more than anyone else I talked to, Mike inspired confidence in his honesty, his experience, and the pride he takes in his work. Also I have to say that his office staff was always very friendly to me, and I never felt rushed or pressured there. In the end, my gut was right. Mike and his team of installers went above and beyond my expectations. As a homeowner, it can be scary to leave an expensive project in the hands of total strangers. But on day one, it became obvious I had nothing to worry about. Mike is an artist and a perfectionist, and he demands that of his crew as well. They executed the job with a level of craftsmanship and attention to detail that put my mind well at ease. Two days after the floor was complete, I noticed a few small spots that needed cleaning. Despite already being paid in full and moving on to the next job, Mike himself came back to scrub the floor, along with one of his crew. He said that he wouldn't be happy with the job until I was happy. Well, I'm very happy. And if you hire these guys, you will be too. read more

I can't say enough about how happy I am we selected Daniel and his crew from M&M for our floor repair and installation. We had our own material and needed subfloor repair due to a water leak. They were thoughtful, respectful and fast! And the price was very fair. We are so pleased that we are now preparing to hire them to also do our carpeted areas. The fellas took their time to mix the planks so the transition from the newly installed to the previous is seamless. Don't waste time getting other quotes. You won't find better service start to finish. read more

Highly recommend this business! They were very easy to communicate and stay in contact with. Plus, they were not pushy like other sell companies. The prices were fair, and up front they told us about deals and let us take huge sample board home to match. There was some confusion about the staircase design, but they were able to fix the problem by mid-day. We had almost our entire house done, and they finished right on time. Our wood laminate floor looks amazing!!! read more

It started out fine. I was able to get an appointment for an estimate and the estimator was right on time. But then he said he will work on the estimate in a few days and get back to me. He never did. I followed up with their office and almost a week goes by and still no response. I have to assume they are not interested in small repair jobs. Okay I understand it's a strong economy and contractors can afford to be picky but at least have the common courtesy of letting me know. read more

After a different contractor botched the installation of my floors, I found M&M Custom Flooring and hired them to install hardwood and tile in my new home. Because of the bad experience we had with the other installer, my wife and I were a bit skittish when we first spoke to Mike and his team. They patiently went through all our concerns and helped us make good decisions on subflooring, layout, wood and tile varieties and assured us we would be pleased with the results. They were right. The floors looked incredible when they were first installed, and they remain incredible today in 2018. Many people comment on them, and we have not had a single problem. The team at M&M also continues to provide support after your installation. We had a minor accident (nobody hurt, completely our fault) which resulted in a small scuffmark. I called M&M, and they had someone stop by a few days later to replace that part of the floor. Nobody looking at it would be able to tell it was replaced. And this was six years after our floors were installed! There are a lot of unscrupulous, or, at best, poorly-trained installers out there. Go with M&M Flooring. They are absolutely great. read more

Mike, Obett, and the entire M&M team did amazing work saving our old hardwood floors - they are honest, competitively priced, and do high-quality craftsmanship. There's a reason all their reviews are 5-stars. We purchased a home built in the 1940s. The floors were carpeted, and we hoped the hardwood floors underneath were salvageable. Unfortunately, after pulling up the carpet the hardwood floors were in terrible shape. But M&M came to the rescue. In less than a week, we had gorgeous, light-colored hardwood floors that everyone comments on when they enter our home. The M&M team did a fantastic job saving the original floor. This was not an easy task (there was A LOT of water damage), but Mike, Obett, and the entire M&M team were great at thinking-on-their feet during the renovation process. And they were on-budget despite all the fun little surprises our floors had for them. We couldn't be happier. We chose M&M because of all the positive reviews on Nextdoor and Yelp. We had very high expectations from the starts, but M&M still managed to impress us. read more

We recently had our wood floors refinished by M&M Flooring and couldn't be happier! Mike had some good suggestions and work-arounds and he and his crew were able to make my vision a reality. The floors in our house are original from the 1940's and I appreciated that Mike recognized the value in the old wood. They not only brought beauty and life back into the floors but also made seamless repairs that blended perfectly into the original wood. One of the worst parts of having hardwood floors refinished is the mess/dust but in this case the crew kept it to a minimum and were very careful to tidy up after the work was completed. M&M flooring did a fantastic job with my Frankenstein floors in my home. Mike knows his stuff and was upfront and honest with me the entire time. There were no surprise fees or incidents and we came in on budget and exactly at the price he quoted me. I appreciated his honesty and hard work ethic and you could see that in the teams of workers that came to our home. They worked fast, did great work and were just wonderful people. Found M&M via A's list, & they came in for consultation & estimate. Just a bit background, got a new place & it needs new floors ASAP. we're thinking laminate on living spaces, & possibly carpet in bedrooms. However, this company provided 3 different quotes but ignored my requests. Quote Request: - Laminate Flooring in Dining Room, Hall and Loft. - Carpet everywhere else. - Additional cost of adding baseboards. Quote Response: Quote 1: Laminate everywhere w/ baseboards Quote 2: Laminate everywhere minus stairs w/ baseboards Quote 3. Laminate everywhere minus stairs w/o baseboards pretty much, they Provided quotes that took a week to respond. Cost $15,000 for work we did NOT want or did NOT request. At the end, they didn't even try to help. They completely ignored us. They do not pay attention to detail when it comes down to customer service, so what can I expect when they get down to business? Projects big or small, they should treat each customer with respect. I was clearly not important to this company. read more

I had doubts about restoring my old hickory wood floors. Not only was it badly stained and discolored, but part of it had been hiding under stinky carpet for a good long time. Not only did M & M come through on restoring it, they made it look better than I expected. They also did a good job with my kitchen. I wanted a crazy pattern of VCT and they did not blink an eye when they saw my sketch. They were on time and efficient. Not the cheapest place out there, but I didn't have to worry about them messing up anything. Daniel was very professional, easy to get along and work with. I recently employed M & M Custom Flooring. I saw their work truck in the neighborhood and asked the residents about the company. They said they had not yet hired them, but they had found the company on Angie's list. Normally I research the credentials, however, this time I went on my gut feelings after I had spoke to Mike in person. In 1997, the carpeting was removed. I had the wood floors refinished (the house was built circa 1927). I wanted them done again. I was told by Mike of M & M that he could do it this time but the next time the floors would need to be replaced. He emailed his bid to me. I called Mike and accepted the bid and scheduled the work. The workers showed up as scheduled each day. They were very careful in moving the furniture. There were items that were not movable which they covered with plastic. They sanded, filled, stained and applied top coating a few times. When they were done, they put everything back as it was. They worked diligently--without a lot of talking, playing music nor cell phone usage. The job was completed in 4 days as stated at the price quoted. Because there was a small scratch made by a family member the day after the floor was done, I called Mike. He had one of his workers come back to take care of it. No big issue nor any charge. The floor came out beautiful! I would highly recommend them and will employ them again. Joan in Burbank read more

These guys are everything they say they are, fast, clean, and very, very good at what they do. We told Mike what our problem was & he brought out the rep for the flooring company and suggested a less radical solution than we had in mind and wound up saving my floors and a few thousand dollars. No ups, no extras, just a great job at the quoted price. If you have Wood Flooring and you need work, don't fool around call Mike. read more

Mike from m&m custom flooring helped me out tremendously. I was stuck with ideas of what to do in my house for the floors. He made it clear and easy with the ideas he gave. He was always on time with his appointments, honest, and fair prices, his workers are nice and respectful and know how to do clean custom work. I'm very happy with the work that was done and I will definitely be using them in the future. Needed new flooring for my rental property here in Burbank, CA and got a few quotes from several local flooring contractors... Though M&M Custom Flooring wasn't the least expensive of the bunch, I decided to move forward with them because they seemed the most professional and having bad experiences with contractors in the past, I was all about reliability and results. I couldn't have chosen any better; M&M Custom Flooring went above and beyond my expectations... not only installing the floor and cleaning up afterwards, but placing all my existing furniture back in it's original locations. This in my opinion is a company that is willing to do more because they want to seperate themselves from the pack. I cannot recommend Mike and M&M Flooring enough. They just installed wood flooring in our second floor and we're so happy with it, we're already saving up to have them do the first floor. We had a hell of a time closing escrow, and because of that I had to keep pushing back the start date. Mike was always patient and understanding. When the job finally began, he kept me updated every step of the way. There were no surprises and he took his time to explain everything so I'd understand, something I really appreciated. And they were fast too. Floors were installed in about half the time I thought it would take. Bottom line: fantastic customer service, great craftsmanship, delivered ahead of schedule at a very reasonable price. The saying is true, you get what you pay for, and with M&M Custom Flooring, it was worth every penny. Would definitely recommend. Will definitely hire again. Thanks guys! read more

Can't imagine anyone better! We are so thrilled that we chose to work with Mike (and team) for hard wood floor installation. Their culture is one of honesty, competence and integrity. Joe, Shawn and Nick are super-experienced, knowledgeable and do everything to perfection as if they were installing floors in their own home. I work from home so witnessed the entire process (and their diligence) from start to finish. They were meticulous, clean and courteous. We also simply had a blast with them! By the end of the two week job, they felt like family: They let our four-year-old son "help" them with their tools while also taking his music requests. read more

I had Mike and his team at M&M Flooring install new hardwood flooring in my master bedroom at the end of last year and the results are great. I had 3 companies bid for the job initially and Mike came in right in the middle. I've been burned on other work on my house in the past for going with the lower price and in this case, knew that this company was the right choice following my initial 2 meetings with Mike. He visited my house house for the initial estimate and then once after to make sure that we were ordering the correct material to match the rest of my house and was in contact by phone regularly also up to and during the work. He was super patient in working with me to make sure that the job was going to be right. The M&M installation crew did a great job, leveling my floor before installing the oak floor and then spending the best part of half a day mixing and mixing stain so that it was the best possible match to the rest of the floor in my home. The end results is incredible and I couldn't be happier with it or the experience working with Mike and his crew. read more

These guys did a fantastic job sanding down and refinishing my engineered hardwood floors and I was so pleasantly surprised as to how reasonable their service cost was. My former tenants really did a number on the engineered hardwood floors when they moved out- a multitude of deep and stained slashes all over the living room entry and dining room, large patches of exposed wood gouged and dented due to I don't know what. I thought for sure I was going to have remove the planks and install new flooring but they saved them and for less than what it would take to reinstall any cheap floor. Mike is simply amazing - knowledgable, kind and honest! I have an unusual structural issue in my condo, and although this was not in Mike's realm of expertise, he gave me great advice, took the time to explain what was causing the noise issue and recommended someone who might be able to help. He even went so far as to offer to help explain the technical issues to the person he recommended. In times when people seem to be all about themselves, it was unbelievably refreshing to meet someone who was honest and helpful, with absolutely no agenda. Mike could have easily said, "Sure, I'll do the job,"charged me a great deal of money and left me with little to no change, but he didn't. Integrity is a big thing, and Mike has it. This is a long due review. M&M flooring has been great with their work and customer service! I hired them to polish my hardwood flooring and they did a great job overall! I am a very detailed oriented person, and I saw they missed a few details on the first polish. I called Mike and explained the situation, he came right back that week to re-do the floor until I was satisfied. (He first tried to patch the problem, but that caused the floors to have uneven shade of coating, which made it more noticeable), they happily re-did the whole flooring the next day until I was truly satisfied with the results. This company really cares about their client's satisfaction and I would give more than 5 stars to Mike for getting the job done all over again up to my satisfaction.
