Everyone we interacted with was helpful and made the whole process feel much less stressful. Kevin came to my house showed me samples so I was able to see actual colors to match it with my kitchen tiles and feel actual texture. He explained the product details and compared them and he gave me a reasonable price. I did not bother looking and talking to other companies, when the price was within my budget and was told it will be done in 4 days, i was sold. During the installation, they discovered that our previous flooring had actually been installed over the existing tile, which we weren't aware of. They took the time to explain the situation, went over our options, and were completely transparent about what would be involved if we wanted to remove the tile and level the floors. I really appreciated that they didn't pressure us and allowed us to make the decision that was best for our home. The installation team worked efficiently and did a beautiful job. They were friendly, respectful of our home, and clearly took pride in their work. Even though flooring installation can be a stressful process, they made it easy and smooth from beginning to end. They saved our house and completed a renovation that improved the value of our home. In Nov 2025 our downstairs restroom flooded half of our downstairs in waste water. A true home nightmare and a costly one at that. Our insurance granted us money to replace the damaged carpet and original hardwood of the downstairs. When we started the search for a flooring company we started with the obvious. As a previous Empire Today customer (carpet only) we quickly agreed to a touchbase with their team. They could come under budget, be done by the weekend, move everything for us... etc... etc... It seemed easy. Uncomplicated should have been a sure thing. But there was just a inkling feeling to see what else was out there. We sourced Sequoia via Yelp and loved how many good reviews they had. We set a meeting with Kevin who came in with the best vibe, never pushy (a huge yes from two introverts) and a huge selection of samples for us to pick from. We wanted something we could grow into and mentioned durability as we have a cat and two young boys. Kevin delivered and even sent pictures of more durable selections from the warehouse. During Christmas Eve Kevin came in a downpour of rain and wind to deliver a sample from the show room. Again with zero pressure to pick Sequoia and it truly felt like it was out of the kindness of his heart. We signed that day! Little did we know this decision saved our house. The day of demo the crew came in moved all our furniture and artwork into safe places. They covered the house with plastic in the parts needed and got to work. Eventually at end of demo it was discovered the foundation was not level and we'd have to pour concrete or otherwise have an uneven install. The whole Sequoia team jumped into action and helped us with a letter, photos and videos to present to our insurance company. With the obvious in our faces we decided to level the floor without insurance approval and proceeded to have them complete work. The install lasted about a week and a half. But their team never made me feel like we were in the way as we tried to function in our upstairs living quarters. In fact it was great to start to get to know the guys working and we enjoyed chatting about their lives, families, and hobbies with them. They were always so kind to our littles, giving them waves and hellos whenever needed. In the end...the floors came out stunning! We recieved insurance money for the foundation and everything worked out. It even took some extra time for us to get the insurance check and Kevin was more than understanding about the wait time needed. We will return again when we want to do the upstairs and will highly speak praises for them for years to come. read more

My dad and I visited their showroom in Van Nuys and we received great customer service from Gaby. They have a variety of selections from engineered wood, laminates, etc. Kevin was my project manager and he was easy to work with. He kept great communication, answered my concerns, and was a pleasure to work with. They were patient with me as I was testing out different laminate planks to see which one is the best for my home. Funny thing is I ended up going with the laminate (AquaShield Honeycomb AC 5) that Kevin initially suggested after doing spending a lot of time with virtual samples on my phone... I would like to give a shout-out to the installing crew: Marco + Victor (1st project) and Juan + Luis (2nd project) who did a beautiful job installing my laminate flooring. They did a decent job cleaning up afterward and did not leave a big mess. During the 1st project, I had my 3 carpeted bedrooms updated to laminate. During the 2nd project (more stressful for me due to nature of situation), I had a leak accident that damaged my old laminate floors that the house came with. Kevin was quick to come by and help me remove the wet laminate to mitigate further moisture and mold damage which was my major concern. They provided me great service at a reasonable price. I am not a guy to write reviews, hardly ever. However, after using sequoia flooring in Van Nuys, California, I have been compelled to write one. In a good way, in a very very good way. We(the wife and I) hired sequoia after meeting Kevin, who is a main salesman and the person for contact. He came to our home 3 times, to explain all possible options and why some things could be done, and why others could not. We had a great feel for him, and hired his company for an 1500 foot job of new flooring as well as a complete new staircase. The working crew consisted of three workers. Actually, I will call them craftsman, because that is what they are. The job was estimated at about 10 days, and it took either 10 or 11 days. The craftsmen, Marco, Juan, and Luis were great!! All questions and concerns during the project were answered and dealt with promptly and professionally. The final product was simply, outstanding!! In addition to the craftsmanship, Kevin, Marco, Juan, and Luis were all exceptionally friendly, nice , and jovial. All in all, it led to a great customer service experience! A good friend of mine, immediately hired them after seeing the work done at my home and hearing my recommendations. He and his wife were equally just as happy and satisfied. We used Sequioa flooring 5 years ago when we first bought our place and had a good experience (see previous review). Recently our wine fridge broke and we couldn't get it out and realized that the back foot was getting caught on the installed floor. I was a bit distraught (also newly postpartum) and called Sequoia. Gabby answered the phone, was super pleasant and said she would send someone out right away (I called Friday, they came first thing Monday morning!) to at least take a look. While the install was done correctly from a flooring standpoint, it didn't really help me with my stuck fridge :( FORTUNATELY, Steven was the guy they sent out and I have got to say, he got himself squished under the cabinet and really worked super hard to fix it for us. I even took a picture because I couldn't believe that he would go to these kinds of lengths to really try to help us (I took a picture because I was amazed at his dedication-see attached). Steven was able to work some magic (and made sure to protect our floors first and foremost) and freed the wine fridge. I am so so SO appreciative that he was able to help us. I yelped a bunch of flooring places about a year ago (fall of 2023) and asked them for a quote. Gabby from Sequoia got back to me right away like within few hours. Such a delightful lady to work with! Then Steven came one day to do the measurements and gave me a quote. But things got busy and getting HOA approval and all, I didn't contact Steven for about good 6 months. Went to the shop in Van Nuys to choose the color and type of flooring. Steven got everything scheduled right away. But my building elevator was broken so had to postpone it couple times but Steven didn't seemed to be bothered by it, which I appreciated it. When the date of installation came, Steven came with Miguel and Jesus. They were both very diligent workers. Did a meticulous job making sure things were installed properly. They also seem to work like a good team. So here's the steps to how things happen: 1) request for quote via Yelp 2) gabby calls you back for scheduling 3) one of the employee comes to your home (you better wish it's Steven!) to do measurements and gets back to you like within a day or two 4) you can stop by the shop to pick out your choice of flooring/color 5) they deliver the materials few days before 6) installation day happens! I had this one area of molding that I didn't like but was reluctant to ask them to come back. Then few weeks later, Steven reached out asking if I'm satisfied with their service. When I had mentioned this one area, he was willing to come out and fix it for me... lastly, they were so professional in cleaning up all the mess inside my place as well as common area they did some cutting of the materials. I realized this is also a huge positive attribute after dealing with an installer from closet world who left a big mess afterwards everywhere.
