Extremely happy with the work from Lam's Flooring! They removed the existing vinyl planks and put in engineered hardwood. David was great to work with - he gives it to you straight, gave a very competitive price. There was no pressure to work with him, but he always answered every question before we committed, and continued to communicate regularly throughout the project. He gave an estimated time frame and they beat it by a couple days. They were very accommodating on start date when we asked to move it up, and were happy to work with our schedule when other parts of the house weren't ready for them. Some contractors come one day and dont come back for a couple days - they showed up every day they said they would be here. The crew, Peter and Miguel, worked well together and so they were able to move through the project quickly. The finished product looks great thanks to their attention to detail. Another thing, we were living there during the flooring and they were very understanding and happy to work with us on minimizing the disruption to our home. When we purchased our home 6 years ago, the flooring was mostly acceptable (original hardwood flooring in most of the home with 1 small area of carpet). Over the years, that carpeted area proved to be impossible to keep clean, and then when we had a baby, our hardwood flooring started pissing us off when all the creaks throughout the house would wake her (she's a light sleeper, lucky us). Lam's Flooring was referred to me by my friend who only purchased flooring materials from David. I reached out because I was looking to change out that carpeted area since our baby could start to crawl and liked to taste anything she could find on the floor (yay), but my husband wanted to redo the hardwood flooring in the rest of the house as well because we were tired of dealing with the creaky noise. David came out, measured everything quickly, and even told us we didn't need to change the hardwood floors (haha) but gave us fair pricing for both options (carpeted area only vs everything). He also said covering the hardwood floor might not solve our issues either. After mulling it over for a while, we decided to do everything, and let me tell you, I wish we changed out the flooring when we first moved in. We went with LVP, which was installed on top of the hardwood flooring (David also had underlayment installed under the LVP) and the floors are SO BEAUTIFUL. PLUS!!! SO. QUIET. Amazing. David's brother, Peter, did the installation with Miguel and one other person, and David initially told me it would take 7 days to complete everything but they finished within 2.5 days instead! That included the flooring itself, installing new base boards, moving furniture/stuff (and we had a lot of stuff), and adjusting our doors. They also vacuumed as they went along so everything felt pretty clean. When we purchased our new home, replacing the flooring was not part of the plan. Our floors were new, but very poorly installed. The floor was not level, areas were sinking beneath our feet, and the laminate was already beginning to separate and lift. We even discovered the cost of the laminate was less than $1 per sq ft. Our initial plan was to get the most use out of the floors as possible and redo them at a later date. But after finding more sinking spots as we started moving in, we made the last minute decision to call Lam's Flooring. The BEST and ONLY choice to go with for your flooring needs. We ended up deciding on engineered instead of solid wood because we want a more modern look for our house. I received two quotes before finding Lam's Flooring and not only did David (the owner and a very honest guy) give me the best pricing, he gave it to me on 4mm wear layer wood while the other two were for 2mm wear layer. If you've done any research on engineered wood flooring then you know if you drop the smallest object on 2mm then it will dent so it's basically trash. When it came to installation, David's team worked so hard and so quickly. I was quoted 7 days max of work and they completed in 4. They installed the flooring entirely on the second floor where we had old, nasty carpet and in the kitchen where we are doing a complete kitchen remodel. Okay let me start with this is my personal experience with this company. I'm confused as to how this "flooring specialist" team got 4.9 stars on here. It's just beyond me. Honestly, I would give them -10 if I could. They're unprofessional and they even threaten us to put a mechanic's lien against our property. So if you want wasted time, shitty job, recycled products, damages to your home and threats, this is the place. I first spoke with David letting him know that we're in the process of renovating our home and our current contractors can't seem to get our floors leveled properly. David assured me that he would help us with our unleveled floors and that he was going to do a "perfect job". Boy did he get me fooled. He is a great salesperson, I give him that! David will over promise and under deliver. If you want to get your floors leveled, do not and I repeat DO NOT come to David and his team. You will pay your hard earned money to get guilt trips like he's doing you a favor and saying that he's doing things free for you. Idk how us paying over 10k in cash is doing work for "free". Where's the free in the money that we paid him? Then his exact words were "I felt bad for you guys so I try to help you young kids. I did enough free things for you guys already." Anyways, what he can do is finish the job faster than he said he would. Then you're like oh wow that's awesome! But it's also because they did a half ass lazy job. When he let us know that the job was complete, he asked to meet him to pay him. After a walkthrough and checking the floors, the subfloors were still not leveled and certain parts of the floors creek. Who wants creeky floors? I'm pretty sure they cheaped out on putting more cement so the floor wasn't fully leveled and they just threw the laminate floors on top thinking we wouldn't notice. We showed David all the unleveled surface areas and he looked upset as if he was doing us a favor to fix it again. Obviously I don't expect the floors to be 100% leveled bc that's impossible. Like um hello, we paid you to help us do this. So now they had to remove the floors and redo it. Pretty sure he was pissed that he had to pay his workers again to redo it but if you had did it right the first time, we wouldn't have had this issue to begin with. After that, he went on vacay without saying a word and then his brother Peter messaged me in regards to meeting up for the next payment. When we got there, the baseboards were finally put in. These baseboards look like they've been recycled from previous jobs that they did. Most of the baseboards were extremely dirty, had nail holes all over, or they were chipped off and covered up with paint. Let's just say at the end of the day, these baseboards were all types of fucked up. Their response was "yeah, you have to paint over it and it'll cover the holes and look brand new". Oh so now we have to hire painters to paint over the baseboards after you put them in? I'm not a flooring specialist but somethings off here. Lol Also, after they were done, they didn't clean the floors up at all. Just put the floors on and said here you go! All done. Ummmmm since when do you not even clean the dust off the floors and at least make it look presentable?! I'm not expecting them to do a thorough cleaning... that's what cleaners are for. They only tidy up the floors after I msged Peter about it. Again, half ass lazy job. Overall, I would've rather paid another company double their price than to have dealt with these guys. Huge headache, damaged products, unfinished job and wasted time. They made a hole in the middle of our wall which doesn't make any sense bc how does the floors even interact with that part of the wall... they did a Mickey Mouse job trying to fix it too. They also drilled nails too hard on the floors and broke into our ceilings but said it wasn't caused by them. We literally have pics before they went in and pic after. Anyways, take your money elsewhere or you'll regret it like us and end up spending more money after their work is "done". read more

We had the pleasure to work with Peter who installed our floors. He is extremely detailed and made sure that we were happy with the outcome of our floors. We remodeled our entire house back in 2020 after we purchased an older home. The previous contractor did a really crappy job and Mickey Moused a lot of the work that got done such as tiling on top of tiles since he did not want to do the extra work and ensured us that we would not have any issues. Being first time home owners, we were very naive and thought this would be okay. After only 1 year, the flooring started to warp and spread. This really infuriated us considering the amount of money we spent and only lived here for 1 year and started to see issues!! After we couldn't take this anymore, we shopped around and made sure to do our due diligence before committing to a contractor. After about 7 quotes, we decided to go with Lam Flooring and soo happy that we did! Planning and quotes were done by David Lam and he was very responsive. Not only before the process and throughout the whole construction. They were all on time and the job was done in the timeframe. There were a few hiccups along the way from our own planning and previous contractor's work, but they were able to work around this and made sure we were happy. We had to order new t molds and reducers because of the previous contractor taking short cuts. Peter came back to install those parts after he already installed the flooring and after we already paid. It's extremely difficult to find a contractor who is honest and still responsive after you already paid... Excellent craftsmanship, great pricing, good communication & fast. Had Lam's Flooring come out to revamp a sunroom that had poorly painted concrete that had started peeling. The team prepped/taped up the area to minimize dust, grinded/scraped off the peeling paint, used a self leveler to even out the surface, then laid out the tile in the dizzying pattern I'd requested. They were great communicators at every step - explaining what to expect next and how to care for the tiles after. They were also reasonably priced and fast (finishing the project in 2.5 days). The job was to replace the vinyl flooring in the kitchen/dining room that was to be removed/damaged for concrete work. I reached out late evening and David responded the same evening. We scheduled a walkthrough for the next day. David walked us through the options. He brought samples to help us make a selection. David also provided suggestions regarding the mismatch in level/grade between the kitchen/dining room. The estimate was the most competitive (flooring and fixing of level) and flexible with the schedule. During concrete work by different vendor, a baseboard was destroyed/removed. I was searching for someone to replace the carpet in the family room into flooring. Having an old home, I was unsatisfied by the unnatural look of the widely used vinyl plank and laminate flooring. I also wanted something that would match the flooring in other parts of the house. I spoke to many businesses but they kept steering me towards vinyl plank. When I discussed with David, he knew exactly what I was looking for. He pulled out a piece of unfinished hard wood that was perfect. He patiently took me around looking for different material, but still settled on using the unfinished hard wood. David and team was very professional. The wood subflooring was uneven, so they sanded it down. The floor was squeaking, so they went under the house to secure the subflooring. They applied multiple coats of stain and semi gloss to match the other existing flooring as close as possible. David went above and beyond. He helped me move all my furniture and refrigerator out of the room, and arrange a different day to help me move everything back when the job was done. Since I am having someone paint the room and didn't want the baseboard to be installed yet, David will need to make another trip to install the baseboard at a future date.
