The lady who helped us was really nice!! We showed up on a busy day with a group of nine people and forgot to make reservation. Most places would be rude about a big group coming in without reservation, but this place was very nice and accomondated all of us! There's a tasting fee of $5 but if you check into yelp, it's free!!' :) yay! All my friends checked into yelp so we all got a free tasting. There's a dessert wine at the very end that's really good! The nice lady even gave us chocolates to eat it while we drink our wine! I definitely recommend this place if you want cheap and good wine! This winery was really relaxing and fun. There was a cat named Leo who was just relaxing on the floor as we walked in and I knew this was going to be a good time. We had 6 different wines on their tasting menu and ended up taking home the Luna Rose and affordable wine stoppers as well. They threw in wine tasting with the purchase of a bottle and it was worth it. I dined at a restaurant in the Central Coast. The wine list included a $30.00 bottle for a 2015 Full Moon Red from Midnight Cellars. I understand $30.00 is inexpensive for a bottle of wine at a restaurant. I've had a number of really good wines for $30.00 to $40.00 per bottle. This wine (Full Moon Red) was the worst made and tasting I ever had. For an adult, this wine was overly sweet, high alcohol content (15.5%) which is not good for wine, one dimensional, and better suited for a high school kid wanting a quick buzz. I'm shocked this winery and their wine maker would sell poorly made/tasting wine to the public. Shame on them. read more

Went there to try their petit Verdot and unfortunately wasn't able to taste it since they didn't have much of it left, however, walked out with a bottle on Natalie's frank recommendation and can't wait to try it. We were sent over to Midnight Cellars by AronHill with two free tastings, but we ended up buying two bottles, so one of our tastings would have been free anyway. I really enjoyed Midnight Cellars. They were tasting 7 wines and all of their reserve wines were open for tasting too. Let's just say I left here a tad bit tipsy, especially being the 3rd tasting of the day. We met some other nice people here and it was probably one of my favorite tasting experiences of my trip since everyone was so friendly and there was only one girl behind the counter pouring. It's funny that I remember liking a lot of wines from here, but all we came away with were two bottles of the Sangiovese, one of which we drank with our Thanksgiving dinner at Panolivo... Perhaps I was too tipsy after all the extra pours here and my husband talked me into us just getting two of those because he liked them so much. It is definitely a good wine, don't get me wrong....but I am all about variety, and I definitely think their chardonnay is nice a crisp. I also liked their rose and they were having a great case special at the time for $99. Will return to this winery next time I'm in Paso. read more

The people working at Midnight were super friendly, their prices were reasonable and they're extremely generous with their pours. They also had a reasonable wine club and half-off on some cases. Great place all around. The Lovely Girlfriend and I joined the wine club and we've gotten one delivery since that we were extremely happy with. To me this is a great quality winery with ok wine, so since my personal taste buds are in play here I'll be generous with the stars... If your time in Paso is limited and you like high quality or complex reds I would suggest you keep moving as there are so many vineyards that produce amazing wines in this region but if you've got the time or your looking for super friendly service and easy drinking wine with a laided back atmosphere then Midnight Cellars will be right up your alley and you should definitely pull in and taste! read more

Decent wine that has actually kept very well and gotten much better in the two years since I bought a case. The cabernet was delicious on my most recent visit as well, and I can only hope my bottles will continue to mature nicely. They tend to have really wonderful bargains sometimes when you buy a case of a specific vintage, if possible and if you like the wine pick up the case and hold onto a few bottles. read more

Went wine tasting with friends a couple weeks ago. This was my second time at this winery. It is one of my favorites in the Paso area. The staff is great - friendly, interactive, answers questions. Both times I bought 3 bottles of wine. I definietly plan on making here more often. They have some more pricey wines, but also reasonable ones and all are fantastic. read more

My girlfriends and I were in town to do some wine tasting and visited several places in town - Midnight Cellars was definitely my favorite. Karen was very welcoming and took the time to go through the different wines with us and tell us about the area in general. They have a great selection of moderately priced wines, and there wasn't anything on their tasting menu that I didn't like. We bought a few bottles and had our tasting fee waived. Paso Robles is nothing like Napa. You get to meet the owners and winemakers because they're the ones pouring. Here, we met Rich (If my memory serves me) - winemaker extraordinaire. We got there at 5:15 and they close at 5:30. We left at 6:30 because Rich wouldn't let us leave without trying all of his creations. I think he had more wine that we did. He was very funny and the experience was quite educational overall. Not a single wine that we did not enjoy. I recommend making this a stop on the tour. We'll be back for sure. read more

Made our first stop to midnight today on our way to cambria. The service was phenomenal and we really enjoyed the wine as well. Great Chardonnay and they had a few blends that I really enjoyed. This is a hidden gem of the area. The wines are very nice and there are usually 10+ to choose from. The wine tasting room is quiet. They have a fantastic price point on the wines too. Very good Zins. Bold and fruit forward like many California Zins, but well balanced nevertheless. Had a couple glasses the other night as a matter of fact. Overall I should probably only give them 4 stars, but the 5 stars are for the Zins. If you like CA Zin, check 'em out! Addendum: Hmmm....tough decision. I am reflecting more about my Midnight Zin that I commented about above, and I think its fair for your opinion to change right? Well it did. Don't get me wrong. Very good Zin! I must say...it was a bit too fruity. Still worth trying...nothing changes with that recommendation. But as of this addendum(7/17/08), I am dropping them down to 4. :-) read more

We've been here several times and they have always had good wines. Some of them are a bit pricey but some are reasonable and still very good. The first time we went, the staff wasn't very friendly but the last two times they were real nice. Its worth a stop. read more

We are members of the wine club at Midnight Cellars. We recently went to their Zinfest. Everyone was very nice and the food was very good. It was our first event with them and we will be sure to come back again soon! It was nice and quaint not over crowded like some of the wineries we've been to.
