Fast service, mediocre food, and cool location. Our experience was similar to Jennifer A. This is a great place to bring young kids or older kids obsessed with airplanes. Customers can sit outside and watch prop planes take off and land. Kudos to the restaurant for hiring and training young employees in the kitchen and the front. But that means the food can be hit or miss. My son asked for fries and got hash browns. His hash browns were tiny and he got 1/2 the portion of my daughter. On top of that each of her potato chunks was 4x the size of his. It was consistent The kids brought the food from kitchen to table. We saw one girl pick up 2 plates of pancakes and put one plate completely on top of the second plate of pancakes. I would not have wanted the plate on the bottom. Bacon was crispy. Eggs were fine. My friend and I ate breakfast here for the first time on a late Sunday morning. I found it online, typed it into the gps and headed out. We certainly would not have found it without doing it this way! It was kind of confusing even when we were at the airport trying to figure out where it was. You have to walk through a car rental place in the winter to get to it and then up a flight of stairs. We expected it to be dead or at least pretty quiet but it was very busy the whole time we were there. They had a great menu and delicious sounding specials. I had wanted to order the banana bread french toast but it had nuts in it which i am not a fan of. My friend got the spinach, tomato and feta omlette special with home fries and toast and i got the same thing but with onions rather than tomatoes and cheddar instead of feta. I also ordered a blueberry muffin toasted which i felt turned out to be the best part of breakfast. It was sooo good! We both enjoyed our omlettes, although they were the flat kind rather than fluffy and the home fries were very good and well seasoned. The coffee was average but good. The service was pretty slow and it took us ages to get our check. I think they needed one more waitress. We will definitely go back! Based on how "off the beaten path" this place is and the great reviews I knew it was going to be good. They must get their business from word of mouth and yelp because it was a little hard to find. The view overlooking the runway was really cool! I had the special eggs Benedict 1/2 lobster 1/2 steak and it was phenomenal. I should have taken a picture but after the first bite I couldn't stop! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because after the food came out the only time someone came back to the table was to drop off the check (we were only half way done with our meal). They weren't super busy so I found that strange. The staff was nice though. I'm from NY/NJ so I've had my fair share of good breakfast spots. I usually always find some reason (in my mind) not to give something the highest rating, but this place is the exception! My wife and I found this place on Yelp on our way through to New London. The location was a bit hard to find but the people around the airport helped point us in the right direction. We ordered normal breakfast entrees and what we got was a feast so huge there was no way we're going to finish it. By the way the pancakes are about 10" wide! The selection was excellent, the ingredients were high quality and we'll presented, the pancakes fluffy, the meats and such were good too. My wife had the breakfast burrito and I had the midfield signature breakfast. Hands down the best breakfast we've had since the trip started in New York. The service was magical, the food was ready suspiciously fast but it was definitely made fresh. The portions were monstrous and very we'll priced for what you get. Friendly atmosphere and excellent view of the airstrip. The passing planes were a bonus. The owner also mentioned a community event she was hosting for kids, it also seems like she does this often. 5 star experience, you won't be disappointed. My friends and I decided to get breakfast after not seeing each other for almost two months. We were both excited and decided to get breakfast, we ended up choosing this location due to the fact that it was thought to be a "hidden gem" but it quickly failed to please. As we sat down to order, we were not greeted. Honestly, this never bothers me, but it adds to the unwelcoming atmosphere at 9:00 in the morning. We ordered our food and for the most part, the staff was fine. I get it, teen jobs, I don't care about that because I'm in the same position at my work and some days I hate customers, y'all can be annoying af. But we got our food and my friend had hair in her sandwich, my other friend had hair on her pancakes, the bacon was burned to crumbs, the iced coffee was water, and the eggs were just gross. This place is definitely a unique breakfast gem with a leg up on almost everything I've tried in the area. The portions are good-sized, the service is very good, the ambiance is quirky, and the food doesn't fall short. Obviously sitting amidst the runway while stuffing traditional-style pancakes in your grill is always a unique experience. I tried most of the breakfast foods, and they are damned good. The homefries are well-seasoned, the pancakes are spongy [kinda like McDonalds?, which to me brings back fond childhood memories], the French Toast isn't soggy, the sausage is not a puny frozen link that simply defrost - it is a giant sausage with natural casing and good flavor. Some of the party who I was with ordered the burger, which was also well-received. I'm not sure why I didn't give this place a 5. Maybe because my standard is the Neighborhood Restaurant in Medford, which I think it the best breakfast in New England. That being said, you'll be hard-pressed to find something of a similar quality, portion, and experience of the Midfield Cafe. As long as you can find it, it's worth the trip! read more

The true reason th experience wasn't great was the manager was super rude to every waitress and it was super off putting. They were doing a great job and she would go out of her way to be rude. Absolutely best breakfast and brunch in the area. I would choose this spot over any. I typically have eggs Benedict when I go to brunch which is what I got the first time I came here, and it was fabulous, but I decided one day to get the banana nut french toast and I have never looked back. I wish I had a picture of it but I never think to take one because I'm too excited to eat. Typically my servers are either Caleb or Garrett who are extremely friendly and helpful. The owner, Sandy, often stops by the table as well to say hi and always makes sure we're taken care of, as she does with all her customers. I've never been to N. Hampshire and found myself in Nashua for business. The morning had me looking for breakfast/brunch and my BF and I stumbled on Midfield Cafe on Yelp. So we decided and check it out and I think it was a sound choice! The decor/ambiance isn't anything fancy at all (I think Gordon Ramsey might have a few words to say on this) but it seems like a very cozy place where people get to know each other. It's located in a small airport overlooking the take off strip so that is cool to see the small planes taking off! And they have outdoor deck seating where you get an even better view! When I went there weren't any seats outside but that was just fine, we still sat by a window. Food - I had the lobster benedict. It was good. My first lobster benedict with plenty of lobster. Would I have it again maybe not, but I think I'm just not a benedict fan. Or rather not a hollandaise lover. Maybe just too rich for me.. but the prices was VERY reasonable ($13.99 for lobster benedict - in NYC that would be easily $17 or $18 plus). It came with home fries which were good. Not great - they could've used some seasoning, but not bad. My BF had eggs, toast - a typical breakfast and he was satisfied. Located in a building by the airport with windows all around that provide a nice view of the planes, it's bright, airy and fresh feeling. This might just be the best burger in Nashua. It is freshly-made from raw ground beef. It's not even a pre-formed patty these guys just slap on the grill. It is a hand-formed burger that is grilled to perfection and is always consistently good. The fries are ok. It's not like french fries can be bad, after all. These are frozen crinkle-cut fries that are dusted with a little bit of paprika (I think--it's not very flavorful). How crispy they are seems to depend on who is running the fryer that day. Actually, most of the food depends on who is in the kitchen on any particular day. Consistency is not something Midfield does well. It seems that they have a small core crew and a rotating staff of people who don't stay very long. Some days it feels like we are eating in a school for diner waitresses. This is fine, honestly. It's a diner, after all, and listening to the owner train the waitstaff is part of the fun. That said, the service is always very friendly, and it's nice to go someplace where they recognize you and remember what you usually order. The waits can get really long on the weekends because this place is so good and popular with the locals. Yes, it's hard to find, even from the parking lot, but that's OK. Some of the best places are hard to find, after all. Make sure you get a punch card when you eat here--every 20 meals you get one free. I think the only reason I would ever stop coming here would be if we moved out of Nashua. I have looked, and this is the best basic burger I have found yet. read more

Pancakes are huge and delicious, fresh fruit side dish is very good, and everything else is good or better. In the ten or so times I've been there, I've never seen the owner raise her voice or act in a way I thought was inappropriate for an airport cafe. Went here today for lunch with my wife and three kids. Atmosphere was a typical diner but with cool aviation related decor. The restaurant is on the second floor so it provides a good view of the runway. The kids enjoyed seeing planes and helicopters taking off. The food was better than I expected. I ordered a corned beef Rachel sandwich and enjoyed it very much. I would order it again and would recommend it. My wife had the turkey club and said that it was very good. A very cute cafe where you can watch the airplanes fly out right out your window. It's tricky to find, but the food is reasonably priced and comes very fast. However, the owner/manager of this restaurant is awful. She employs mostly high schoolers as waitstaff, and yells at them and scolds them the entire time for the cafe to hear. First, this place needs some signs. It was difficult to find, even after we parked we wondered around the parking lot looking for the place. We ended up in the pilot shop for directions. Please get some good permanent signs. Second, I've lived in Nashua for years and just found out about this place from a neighbor who heard about it from another neighbor. Word of mouth advertising is working, but if you want to make more money, and who doesn't, you should advertise your business. Now onto the food, very good, lots of food and priced as expected.
