Stopped into MaryAnn's diner on a Friday morning. The diner was pretty full, with most of the booths/tables taken, but not too crazy. While our waitress did greet us and take our drink order in normal time, everything else took super long. It took almost another 20 minutes to get our drinks (she forgot one hot coffee for about 75% of the meal) and then another 10 before we got to place our food order. Maybe 15 minutes after putting the food order in, she came to tell us that they were out of one entree, a special, and then more time to come back with a menu and to grab an alternate order. Overall, the food was fine. I got the Gronkowski scramble, which has hash browns, peppers, onions and cheese, with kielbasa and eggs on top. The scramble was pretty tasty although somewhat greasy. My toast had too much butter on it. I also ordered a pumpkin cream cheese muffin. The waitress asked if I wanted it grilled which surprised me. I said no, but alas, out came a muffin cut in half toasted with butter. The muffin was good, but the butter taste definitely took away from the pumpkin flavor. All and all, we were there for 2 hours, which seems insane for a diner breakfast. We had a baby who was getting fussy and ready to go. When the waitress finally took our card, she stopped to chat with a friend as we looked at her ready to leave. Unfortunately, the service really clouded the overall experience. The food was fine and the interior/decor was fun. Everything had that whole 50's diner feel, all the way down to the waitresses outfits.

Throw back 1950's classic rock and roll restaurant with pictures of famous people and musicians. The waitresses are very pleasant dressed in their dresses that they wore during the 50s. They have Bloody Mary's and mimosas .The food was very good as well just like I ordered potatoes and onions were cooked perfect bacon was very tasty to eggs are delicious anyway.

    Simple breakfast but very good.

Food came out in a flash. Breakfast is always good here. Love the 50s vibe in this dinner. The waitress was attentive to anything I asked for. Service was excellent. I will be back.

    Before we ordered, cute decor.

Walking in 7 minutes after opening, this place was already packed. Full of Patriots fans hooping and hollering to the end of the fourth quarter. Every appeared in a merry mood, and everyone knew each other it seems. Service here was great. Our waitress whipped around the room with finesse and speed, working the bar and tables all by herself. She was to the point but pleasant. The beers are ok, but they aren't anything spectacular. An average selection of nearby beers of all varieties. Going to other breweries in New Hampshire, I know that this state can produce good beers. Perhaps they just had a mediocre selection the week I was there. We ordered a medley of items and most of it was hit and miss. In the sampler, the pork cracklings were decent, although dinner pieces were hard to chew since they turned into a dense fried bit. The fries were ok, but standard. The tator tot was actual pretty good, but there's this sweetness and texture that makes me think of pumpkin? That could be upsetting to some. The chicken tenders are ok, but the breading isn't seasoned or exciting in texture. It felt like how I would fry chicken at home with only one coat of breading. The pickle chips were good, even though they were not spicy at all. If they called these paprika coated chips, then I would agree. But texture wise, they were actually crisp and not super watery. The pulled pork tacos are ok, but they rely more on sweet barbeque sauce more than anything else. The tortillas are subpar in flavor, but sturdy enough to hold everything together. The veggies slaw did add some nice acidity though. The wedge salad here is terrible. I should have looked up what others posted before I ordered it. It was a literal wedge of plain iceberg, with all the other ingredients and fixings dumped in the middle. The stuff in the middle was ok, but nothing felt harmonious. Just a bunch of salad ingredients added to a giant paper tray. It felt like a waste of 9 dollars for what was lazy preparation.

TL;DR; Food: Amazing. Service: Amazing. Atmosphere: Amazing…read more The entire place is a retired coach stop for travelers from the south and west, as the name implies. The building has changed hands and purposes over the centuries, but the homeliness has held up. The kids mac and cheese on its own was better than most mac and cheeses, which should speak for itself. I'd say my favorite mac and cheese at a restaurant. I was kind of mad at myself for being so blown away by a kids mac and cheese. I will be back to have the lobster mac as a main based on this alone. I ordered it for my kid, but couldn't stop stealing bites. It's simple - definitely nothing more than quality cheese plus cream and pasta. But cheese choice in a mac and cheese is the most important! The clam chowder was INCREDIBLE. It became my new favorite, and I'm highly picky about clam chowders. The bacon wrapped scallops were drizzled in syrup which was a perfect flavor. Scallops were well cooked. Potato salad had that little acidic kick and was just great overall. Probably top 3 for me. Finally, the bread served as a pallette whetter is crispy and warm, chewy on the inside, with a few slices of pumpkin bread (probably seasonal). Service wise, Danielle was super friendly, did not rush, conversed with us, and without any prompting whatsoever offered to get a completely full and fresh cup of chowder to go rather than just an empty cup to pack away my leftover chowder. Felt SUPER welcomed. We also had a 1.5 yr old and didn't feel alienated. We were seated away from most guests, which I actually feel is a good strategic decision for both them and us. This is superb restaurant management. Overall - 10/10. WILL be back, and soon!

So, we don't expect the food to be the chefs best....too busy for that. Turkey was good, gravy cold. Prime rib was cold, tough and not really edible. I had 2 bites. Mashed potatoes, soup and bread was good. No stuffing. My son got the seafood pasta and he enjoyed it. Waitress was great, not her fault. But, she saw that we didn't eat the prime rib. I commented on the toughness and she was polite but did not even get a manager.....maybe too busy. Pie was ehhh. Bottom line - spent almost $400 and left not even slightly full. We had a party of 7 and we were very excited to finally try Dreo. We started with 2 orders of the calamari and the spinach dip special. My husband noticed the calamari also had shrimp which I am allergic to. They happily removed the shrimp but unfortunately it's fried in the same oil (which is completely logical) but everyone at our table (besides me) throughly enjoyed the calamari. I cannot even begin to explain how good the spinach dip was. I'm not sure I'll have want to eat spinach dip without garlic bread again!!! Next up entrees: 2 ribeyes, 1 NY strip, 1 Korean BBQ Bowl, 1 Soy Maple Glazed Salmon, and 1 Tuscan Fried Chicken. I am newly pregnant and to be honest I was not looking forward to eating out because my go to is rib eye but I refuse to eat well done meat so instead I ordered the Tuscan fried chicken. I also asked to sub the mashed potatoes for truffle fries and the veggie medley for green beans. They had no problems with my requests which I loved. I loved every single bite of my chicken and I actually stopped caring that I was missing on steak! In fact every single person at our table loved everything they ate too. We ended our meal with cookie skillets and again absolutely delicious! Now our meal was fantastic by itself but I have to say our waiter Brett was just as amazing!! He couldn't have done a better job and he totally rolled with our parties over the top personalities. Even if the food wasn't outstanding we'd go back just for the service! I really hope of the owners or managers see this; Brett is fantastic and deserves praise!! We will definitely be back and since I still have about 7 and half months to go I will be coming back for more Tuscan fried chicken soon!!

A Truly Fantastic Experience Thanks to Our Server…read more We've been coming here for years because the steak tips are absolutely unbeatable, but I'll be honest -- the service in the past has been hit or miss. That's why our experience this time was such a breath of fresh air. I don't write alot of reviews but this was one I couldn't pass up. Our server Secret was phenomenal. Even though the restaurant was extremely busy, she managed to be both attentive and genuinely warm the entire time. She checked on us at the perfect moments, never rushed us, and somehow made us feel like we were her top priority despite juggling a full restaurant alone. That level of professionalism and energy is rare, and it completely elevated our night. The steak tips were, as always, incredible, and the espresso martinis were spot-on -- but the star of the evening was our server. Her attentive, upbeat, and downright impressive service is exactly what this place has been needing. She turned what is normally a "we come for the food" visit into a truly memorable dining experience. We'll definitely be back (those steak tips guarantee it!), but now we'll be hoping we're lucky enough to get her again. She's an absolute gem.
