I went in for an oil change, the guy at front was very helpful in explaining full synthetic an 50/50 the benefits for my vehicle. With the I got a full service inspection like no other place I've been before, love that they include photos notes in full detail of everything inspected. They argued about the oil we use in our well cared for 16 yo car. Once the hubby showed them in the manual that the oil we requested is safe, they relented. Next, they have a profit creating inspection they do on the vehicle. The don't change the oil until the end. Why does an oil change with an appointment take 1.5 hours? I'm just listening to the sales tactics they use on women and it's frightening how they make the problem sound much worse than it actually is. I will not be returning to this Midas. Excellent customer service and overall experience. I came in for an oil change and they offered an inspection and tire rotation free of charge. They also did not pressure me on any of their extra services and instead emailed me a detailed inspection report with pictures with their recommendations for me to look at on my own time. After posting my first review I was contacted by Anthony I guess he's the manager there and he agreed to do extra repairs that were needed after their initial so-called work they did on the my van. They replaced the cooling fans under the hood and had to replace my windshield wiper motor which both items were working before Midas did their repairs. After the repairs I was asked three to four different times to update my review I guess because the owner didn't like what I posted I started to but now I have this issue.. After going to a Ford dealership to get brake work done because I'm done with dealing with Midas they noticed that I have oil and transmission leaks in five different places under the bottom of van. Those leaks obviously wasn't present before because Midas never mention it to me so all I'm trying to do now is get a printout with the part numbers since they said that they use Ford OEM parts. I'm being told that they aren't allowed to give out that information so I have no way to know if they are Ford parts or if they have warranty as the Ford dealership are requesting the part numbers just in case any of them are faulty they can replace them. I was also told by two different Ford technicians and another independent mechanic that I was way overcharged for parts and labor even if the parts are Ford factory OEM parts. Just all around horrible work and customer service at this place. Just reached out to the owner hopefully they will give me a call back and help get this issue resolved. read more

I have been a Midas customer for 11+ years and 3+ vehicles (old, new and ex wife's Lol ) and previously had been a customer at the Broadway location and knew three names. Mike, Keith and Nathan. Mike retired years ago, Keith moved way to the west side( Broadway managers lied and said he retired and gave me bad service), and after tracking down Keith on FB, this is when I uncovered that the Broadway managers had lied to me along with giving me horrible service and overcharging me. He also told me that he had moved very far to a different location. However, the saving grace to this was he told me that Nathan was actually at the Alma School in Guadalupe location, which was actually closer to me than Broadway! I've been going to Nathan and Anthony for the past four months now, and feel like I have regained the level of service, quality and peace of mind that I had at the Broadway location! Nathan knows my vehicle very well, and the sentimental value that it holds for me along with how much work I have put into it. Because I put so much work into upgrading this vehicle with aftermarket changes, and overcoming obstacles that the vehicle will throw at me, I feel comfortable with taking my vehicle to Midas , even though I have hefty performance and customization upgrades that I have done to the vehicle. Nathan and his team are efficient, friendly, and only provide you with the services that they feel that you need and give you options and timelines if necessary. They don't sugarcoat things and will tell you that it's some thing that your vehicle is in dire need of, or if it can wait for a week or so. I also love how they take photos of the issue so you can see the problem for yourself after the vehicle inspection has been completed. I am by no means ignorant when it comes to car, maintenance and general knowledge, and I love that they take the time to explain why things are the way they are, or what could have potentially caused it. I wouldn't recommend any other location to go to if you're seeking a good reliable Mechanic shop to take your vehicle into without getting gouged! My faith in the brand has been restored by Nathan and his team, and will continue to bring my vehicle and refer them to friends and family as I have in the past. Five stars! This is bad but I have to say something about this due to the severity of the situation. I had accidentally recently gave this place a 4/5 Yelp review since they did a good job with my sisters and my cars' oil change. They had coupons and saved me some money and it was good despite the very long over 1.5hr wait time. They do try to give you a full diagnostic of what's wrong with your car which is fine. The big issue though that I have with them was just tonight I needed to get something from my Lexus and went to the passenger side and oh my goodness found that my gun which I have always locked up in the glove compartment was on the floor of my car. I was soooo shocked and couldn't understand how this could have happened. The only people that would have had recent acccess and could have done this was Midas since I gave them my car key for the oil change a few days ago. Luckily my son sits in the back or else it could be a lot worst. Can't understand how this could have happened but I never took my legal gun out of my glove compartment so the only ones that could have done this and did this were the Midas people that had serviced my car about 2 days ago.... I thought Nathan was nice but now after finding my gun taken and left outside of my locked glove compartment I don't know who's really "nice" and who's not anymore. Always been scared to go to a mechanic cause i know they try and Nickel and Dime you. Not here!! They straight up told me what i didn't need fixed even tho the system recommended it based off of mileage. stayed an hour after hours just to get a part they didn't have in stock so i could get my car tonight. Nathan and Anthony were cool asf too. They both chopped it up with me and explained everything in a way i could understand. I don't feel ripped off in the slightest and feel confident in this midas. Nathan apologized for not being able to find the brake pad in time but it didn't matter to me. All around a great place to come! Would 10/10 recommend. read more

Nate and Tony were professional, friendly concise and knowlegeable. They perfomed a monsoon special (inspection, tire rotation, oil change, engine airfilter and wiper blades replaced) upon the inspection they emailed photographs and detailed inspection feedback. They verified my brakes were in serious need of replacement (I was aware that my brake pads needed replacing) I had them do the brake job, front and rear, they used ceramic pads and turned the roters. My car is smooth, quiet and stops on a dime, I will be bringing my vehicle here for regular and unscheduled services. + All performed service and repairs are gauranteed at all Midas shops, nice! We have an older vehicle and took it in to get the brakes checked. We got a same day appointment, and they were able to diagnose the problem and get it repaired the same day. They even stayed 30 mins past closing to get it finished! Anthony, the assistant manager, was super helpful. While I was waiting for my vehicle I heard him interacting with several customers and he was always friendly and efficient. I'll bet they get a lot of repeat customers. read more

I do not typically give out one-star reviews. I took my car to THIS Midas because it was closer to my job at the time. I asked them to call me as soon as my car was done with an oil change so that I may pick it up. When I picked it up around 4:30, The front desk woman said that it had been ready since 11 am. on top of that she handed me my receipt and said all of these repairs can wait till the next oil change and I was good to go. WRONG! Not even a month later 3 lights lit up my dashboard. If I didn't take it to my regular Midas right away, I could have destroyed my transmission and steering column as well as a few other things in my engine. Mind you, I know nothing about cars unless my mechanic explains it to me. Mesa Midas just said "you're good" and sent me off to have these issues, I should have been warned like you have some time but not much time.... My regular Midas was not only able to explain the issues to be but helped me save money by saying this, this and this needs to happen today, that that and that can be done next month. Just to give some perspective. I paid about 2100 bucks in repairs for the things Mesa Midas found in my last oil change, they should have stressed that it was needed asap. I am disappointed that they did not because imagine driving home one weekday at 8 pm and your car shakes and drive 30mph and slower and you almost get stuck going through an intersection. My experience was not the best, but it is an easy fix, make you attempt to educate the customer, we don't know what you know most of the time and the receipt we get is all gibberish, educate us, please. read more

Words can't describe the craziness I've been through on Saturday April 25, 2020. Went to Big O Tires off of Alma school and southern to try and get my car fixed. Issue that I had was that my car overheated after purchasing it from a private seller. So I paid $135(+Tax)for a full diagnosis. The Guy there told me if I want my car to run 100% I would need to fix the overheating issue which was new water pumps, reservoir tank, and thermostat. But NOT the radiation because it looks "FINE". Then replace your whole A/C system. Which everything will come out to $3,500. In my head I'm like "WTH?!?" I don't have that kind of money!!! So I decided to call Midas off Alma school and spoke with D'Angelo and I cut to the chase and told him what I needed done on my vehicle. He was SUPER HELPFUL, Friendly, Understanding, Straight Forward, and Respectful. And he cut to the chase, NO BS, NO SCAMS, NO UP SELLING on parts that are not needed. He really helped me out! He gave me a better deal than the other shop did and my car was fixed on the same day. I appreciate his time in helping me out and would like to thank Carlos and the mechanic Jose for getting the job done. Next thing on my to do list is getting the A/C system repaired and running. My mom who's a little old lady took her car there for some maintenance yesterday, and the guy at the front desk (his name was John), was super rude and condescending and even lied about the coupon that she was holding in her hand. Maybe John was just having a bad day, but she was the only one in the lobby and he made her wait after she asked him if her car was done. The mechanic saw her standing there waiting, and he was the one that eventually came out and told her the car was ready. Its hard to find a shop where the people who are working on your car are actually mechanics rather than technicians and care about doing the job right. The people working here love what they do and you can feel and see that after speaking with them. Carlos and DeAngelo care about doing the job right the first time around. When my bf and I brought our 86 f350 with our 83 Lance camper on it we were in the middle of not having our truck for three weeks. Sometimes traveling in a camper can be hard when your having car issues. luckily as well as being professional and knowledgeable they were also hospitable and made our visit as comfortable as possible. The project took a day longer than anticipated but sometimes doing things the correct way take a bit longer and is more cost effective in the longer run. If you care about having mechanics who love what they do and enjoy doing things the correct way, this is your spot. read more

We decided to give Midas another chance after a shady bait and switch experience I had at a location in another state many years ago. Now regretting the decision as they wasted my husbands time. My husband called yesterday asking if they could fit him in for an oil change with free tire rotation using an advertised promotion. He was told they were booked solid but could schedule him for today so he booked an appointment for 1 pm. He arrived a bit earlier than the scheduled appointment time, only to be told they did not have him in their system for an appointment and he would have to wait. He waited 40 minutes before they brought our vehicle in to begin servicing it. Within a few minutes they called him in to say they would not perform any service on our vehicle because the oil pan was rusty. He asked what options he had and was told that he would need to leave our vehicle with them for a few days at least so they could replace the oil pan before they could proceed with the oil change and tire rotation. Of course he refused. It is not uncommon for a vehicle from the northeast to have undercarriage rust, due to the heavy salt on roads during the winters. Do not waste your time with Midas as they have proven again that their special offers are just a baiting tactic to upsell expensive services to those not wise enough to walk away. I've been bringing my vehicles here for the 3 years from oil changes to major repairs and in my opinion you can't get better service or prices anywhere else. My favorite part about Midas is that they will allow to see you vehicle in the shop and see what is physically wrong with it. The prices are fair, mechanics are very professional, and the management is spot on when it comes to customer service and quality of work. Midas is not what it used to be. Went into this one expecting to work with professional experts to have my loud rusted out exhaust system replaced. During the in-shop consultation I requested that it be updated to that of a modern-day truck. The new exhaust system did not follow the same route of that it replaced as expected. It was hanging significantly lower than my original, had many welds used to accomplish bends, and was much louder than my original. Turns out Midas is unable to bend exhaust pipes like other professional exhaust shops and simply was unable to meet my service request, refused to compensate me, and actually charged me $100 more than my original work order. Furthermore, they refused to release the vehicle until I paid an unbelievable $1,200. This is an unethical owner operator franchise shop giving you limited recourse. Beware. read more

Frustrating experience! I personally dislike bait and switch advertising and marketing. Made an appointment for 8:00 a.m. today to get one of their online specials. Rescheduled my day to show up on time and then when I get there they try to over twice as much. Saying my car didn't qualify for that special, if that's true not sure why they didn't tell me that when I made the appointment.
