Midas Poway is my go to auto repair shop for my 2009 Acura MDX. Their prices are fare and the customer service is excellent. There are times when I think I need something but am told it's not necessary right then. I can't believe that I've found a shop that I actually trust. Most other shops I've patronized would never let me walk out with just an oil change without "up selling" me on something..new air filter, etc. The manager is friendly and provides excellent customer service. I thought when this new team took over from the last owners, I'd be looking for a new place but I'll say they have exceeded my expectations and actually do a better job. Rear brake pads and rotors were replaced. Soon after squeaking and jingling sounds were coming from the rear. Only occasionally, but worsened over time. So, I returned the car to find out why. They said it was the front brakes. When I had the back brakes done, I was told the front brakes were fine. Okay, from 04/05 to 05/10 the front brakes went bad? Anyways, front pads replaced, rotors machines, but sounds continued. I took the car back on 05/17, this time I had Victor go on the test drive with me. He told me to turn back around because he said he could not hear the sounds. When he did hear the sounds, he blamed it on a nearby car but when I pulled into the parking lot near Midas, I pointed out the sound stopped and when I drove a bit the sounds began, and then when I braked the sounds stopped. Victor then admitted the sounds were coming from my car. After properly checking the brakes, they realized that the back rotors they replaced 04/05, needed to be replaced. Basically, I paid $279 for a front brake job that was not the culprit. The free future oil change gifted to me by Victor means nothing. I will never bring my car back to Midas ADDING: One week after Midas replaced my back rotor and after taking about $800 from me for unnecessary front brake job, my back wheel is squeaking again as I am driving down the road. I've waited a while to see if the squeaking would stop, but it has not. It is not a settling in of new parts of any sort. Clearly has nothing to do with my front brakes as Midas said it did. My back brakes never made a noise until Midas worked on them. Do not take your car to Midas. read more

Went back to get an oil change and have them look at my tire balance and alignment. Ever since I got new tires here it started shaking when I braked at a higher speed. The guy said it is 100% my brakes, I just got my brakes done 2 years ago and the fact it didn't do this before the new tires, one could come to the conclusion it's not the brakes but something went wrong with the tire set up. I stood there and my intelligence was questioned for 10 minutes. I finally, after him saying it is 100% my brakes a 100 times said I would take my business elsewhere. I've always got my tires from Costco and I will never not go to Costco after this. Never had a problem before. I'll give you back the tires and get the Costco one and 100% believe it would be a non issue then. I'm serious. Give me my money back and you can have these tires. read more

This is the BEST and most CUSTOMER FOCUSED business in San Diego!!! I found them because they were open when everybody else was closed - and I was so delighted that I will only take my cars to this shop. My first experience included an entire waiting room of people all gushing over how amazing Fadi (the hands-on owner) is, and I quickly realized that this guy TRULY CARES!!! Many times Fadi and his excellent team have talked me out of more expensive options and they were right. It's not about making more money for them, it's about creating a loyal customer base. Who does this anymore??? Fadi does. A couple weeks ago my Jeep broke down in the late afternoon on the weekend. I had to wait for a tow truck for a long time, and it was late in the day. I had no top on the Jeep and was concerned about storing it. I called Fadi and his team - they stayed open almost TWO HOURS after closing time just to make sure they could lock my Jeep safely in the garage! Seriously, who has this level of customer service? Every time I get something fixed on this old Jeep, Fadi will call me two days later to see how it's running and whether I would like them to adjust anything for free. I am a former tech and a VERY meticulous (OCD) car owner, so I'll say that Fadi and his team not only goes out of their way to provide you with quality, efficient SERVICE, but they know when something isn't done 100% and will put it back on the lift and get it done ... 100%. In the automotive repair industry, there's NO such thing as a "perfect fix". We all know that. Cars come into shops with all sorts of history, all sorts of drivers, with all sorts of problems, symptoms, and all sorts of excuses. We can't expect ANY shop to get you the lowest price, best service, with an accurate quality repair ALL the time. But what you can expect here, at Midas Poway, is that Fadi's team will navigate all of that, treat you with utmost respect, they will not oversell (they don't need to), and they will strive to get it done, on time. They will try to fit you in and help you in a bind, and if their fix is missing something on their test drive, they will throw it back on and get it done, even if it takes the extra 30 minutes.
