It does free tire pressure checks, and I was greeted with very friendly service and guided to the side of the building for my pressure, check and air by another gentlemen who was also very friendly and kind. But the check-in arriving at the store was even easier and a first for me using Discount Tire. Normally, you park your car and walk in to check in. At Escondido, there was a dedicated line for online purchasers. I had just parked and was maybe three steps away from the car when I was intercepted by a Discount Tire representative, who addressed me by name. We had never met before. That blew me away. But he had my information about my purchase, my vehicle and appointment with his handheld wireless device. I arrived about 10 minutes before my scheduled appointment. He clearly knew my Kia EV6 was going to show up. And when he saw me park, he proactively figured it out. Brilliant and a real standout for personal service. As per usual, the crew working on my car worked cohesively as a team and they finished quickly. I barely had time to take pictures of the car's suspension and brakes while the wheels were off. The retail car tire business is very competitive. Just recently wrote a lengthy 3 star review. However I just went to get my oil changed, it's about a week after my new tires. On top of my previous complaints on my wait time, my mechanic tells me one of my tires was mounted backwards and was over inflated to 45 PSI. Just one tire. I have been going to Discount Tire for over 15 years, but my recent visit to the Poway location was the worst experience I have had with them. About a year ago I bought two new tires here. Six months later I came in for a rotation, but the guy at the counter told me they would not do it because my other two tires were more worn and told me come back when other two needed to be replaced which the thread on them was about 4, I trusted them and left. Now I came back to replace the other two tires, and they told me I needed all four because the newer ones I bought from them were already worn out and cracked after only 18,000 miles. When I mentioned they had refused the rotation before, Jay talked down to me like I did not understand what a rotation is for and insisted they never turn them down, basically calling me a liar. I also paid extra for a warranty, but they are doing everything they can to avoid honoring it. This was the first time in 15 years with multiple cars I tried to use it, and I learned they will find any excuse not to cover it. I have lost all trust in Discount Tire. If this is how they treat long time customers, I will never go back and I would warn anyone to take their business elsewhere. read more

I was extremely disappointed with the misinformation I received from a service representative at Discount Tire in Poway. She may have even been a manager, as I heard her giving the same explanation to another customer. I was told that while only one TPMS tire sensor had failed and needed replacement, I should expect the other four to "stop working shortly after" unless I replaced all of them at once. Her implication was that replacing one sensor could provoke the other sensors to quit working. Her statements directly contradicted what I know to be true about TPMS sensors and felt more like a high-pressure upsell than genuine advice. No mistake about it - she was creating unnecessary concern by her statements to me. This experience left me with zero confidence in the integrity of this store. To me, it came across as a deceptive tactic to push me toward spending an extra $400 on top of the $100 needed to replace the single faulty sensor. I will simply let ChatGPT provide the true and accurate fact about TPMS sensors: If I replace one of my TPMS sensors will that cause the other sensors to potentially quit working? Short answer: Not really. Replacing one tire pressure sensor (TPMS sensor) does not cause the others to fail. Anyone telling you that is giving you a half-truth OR TRYING TO SELL YOU EXTRA SENSORS. Here's what's actually going on: 1. TPMS sensors all age at about the same rate TPMS sensors have sealed batteries that last 5-10 years. Terrible customer service. Go to another location. This review is for the lady working the front desk. There is only one lady working the front desk on October 10th. I came in for a nail in my tire which they said i had to wait 3 days before coming in ( which is a long time to wait). 1. She admonished me because my Michelin pilot sports 4s was down to 3/32 tread in about 10000 miles that i owned it. She said "well if you rotated it regularly it would have lasted longer" -if you looked up your computer records discount tire installed then 2 years ago at 50000 miles. Your computer should show it was rotated and balanced once before the car reached 60000 miles. I evem rotated the tires myself at the 60000 mark. The MANUFACTURER says these pilot sports are supposed to last 30000-35000 miles. *NO WAY IT IS MY FAULT FOR WEARING OUT THE TIRES within 10000 miles!!!!!! (The tires are evenly worn. My tire wear is not caused by a lack of wheel alignment.) 1. I DID NOT COME HERE TO BE ADMONISHED FOR WORN TIRES . NO NEED TO SHAME OTHER CUSTOMERS IN PUBLIC (other patrons in the lobby were shaking their heads at me in disgust after i walked away). YOU SHOULD HAVE CHECKED YOUR RECORDS OF MAINTENANCE BEFORE BECOMING ACCUSATORY. -Admonishment is not part of good customer service!!! 2. Bedside manner could be improved. No smiles from the get go. Long story short, the trainee that was transferred to this location for training for the day from PQ Discount Tire location was named Brandon. He was the most sincere, informative, passionate, and efficient individual when it came to his job. Not only did he provide me many solutions, I also received a lot of valuable knowledge for the future in regard to motor vehicles and wheels. Not only were they super busy and had a long line, he did above and beyond his job to assist me. I know financial metrics and employee performance is crucial to an organization and they probably wish i bought tires or spent more money with them, but all I gotta say is that I am beyond impressed, going to refer, and keep them in mind for tires on my next vehicle. 7/11/24 @ 16:34 hours PST I arrived and was told by James, an employee at Discount Tire, that I would only wait two hours to have my two front tires exchanged for new Sentry tires. Four hours elapsed. No one was taking care of my needs. I got to a point where I was literally yelling at Jose, another store employee, to handle my vehicle. Customer care is poor here. Pick another company to handle your tires. This is not the forst time this has happened to me at this location. Any time the staff give you a time here, double it, amd that's how long it will really take. By the way, make sure you yell at them so they know you exist. Otherwise you and your needs will become invisible to them. 4 hours to install two tires is unacceptable. Hire more men, increase efficiency, or both. Telling your customers one thing and not following through shows negligence, incompetence or both. Bad optics for this location. read more
