I moved here from Tucson and had to find a place for an oil change so I bought a Groupon for Midas. I picked the one closest to home and it has been a great find!! I'm on my 3rd visit and Richie is awesome! Always accommodating (even when I cancel at the last minute)! I've been a lot of places for oil changes over the years and the one thing I hate is the "oversell". I don't get that here! I had major issue's with another Midas shop (Mike, Midas on Main) and took my car to the power and southern Midas to Mark to verify the work had even been done at the other location. Mark went above and beyond to correct the situation that Mike at the other Midas had caused. He fixed all the work and I did not have to pay anything. Absolutely horrible horrible experience. Do NOT go here for honest work. We went in for an exhaust leak, ended up needing a new exhaust manifold. A couple months later we discovered that they had damaged the new part by incorrectly installing it. They would not do anything but "bend it back into place", refusing to replace the part that THEY damaged. Their only offer was that we could keep returning to have it "rebent". Asked to speak to the owner numerous times after the manager/receptionist berated me defensively, he refused. Reported the incident with Better Business Bureau and they refused to correspond with them as well, resulting in a 3 year penalty. Completely dishonest business, with zero pride in it's work. I am usually very understanding with customer service and usually businesses try to do the best they can. I consider myself to be a pretty chill guy and rarely (actually never that I can remember) have ever been so mad/disappointed with customer service. When I take my car into a shop, I expect knowledgeable and professional service. This location lacks both. The store Manager ARGUED with me saying my 09 Camry could only take synthetic oil and refused to put conventional oil in. (0w20 synthetic to be exact which is TOTALLY untrue!!!!) He proceeded to charge me the price of a full synthetic oil change. When in fact 5w20 conventional oil is manufacturer recommended. Felt like they were just trying to get an extra buck (or $50). I would steer clear of this location! Other Yelp reviewers seem to have experienced the same thing and now I believe it! read more

These guys are sloppy, con-artists. I went in for a "free courtesy check", and proceeded to get news of about $1300 worth of repairs that needed immediate attention. They said I needed brakes (which I had the pads checked a few months ago, and they had about 20k miles left), and since they were ceramic pads, they were going to charge almost $800 for a brake job. Even though all their signs read $89 per axle for a brake job. When I told them I couldn't pay that right then and there, they proceeded to make me wait for almost an hour as their guys went on a smoke break. The entire office was laughing, and horsing around while I waited for them to put my tires back on so I could leave. The real kicker, that "free" check, because they looked at the transmission, (which is part of their so-called check), they charged me $20. So much for free. Finally, the best part, I get the car back with unbalanced tires, after waiting for it for over 4 hours (when they quoted me 2), and I get met with trash in the passenger's seat. One of their guys left their fast food leftovers. Nice. When you see this place, just drive by. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!! I can't stress that enough. Scott McCracken is the manager and the person that I had the misfortune to deal with. My wife and I bought a brand new Dodge Charger SRT8 and wanted to make it sound better. We have used another place for exhaust before but didn't this time due to this Midas location being closer to home. He said and I quote "you don't want to take your brand new car to someone and have them do a hack job on it" he said "we have exhaust artists here and they will do it right". Well when we picked the car up something didn't seem right but we though nothing of it at the time. We took it to the original shop that had done our exhaust in the past and they got it up on a lift and I was shocked at what I saw! The mufflers were literally beat into place, one was lower than the other, the welds were horrible, the tailpipe actually hit the rear subframe. They left some wiring for the rear ABS sensor hanging on the tailpipe as well. I went back to Midas and showed Scott what his guys had done and asked him to make it right. He said, I am 100% not kidding here, "no I won't make it right". He gave me a non working number for the owner and said that if I could get someone to pickup I might be able to talk to someone. Bottom line if you want to get ripped off go to Midas on e southern ave in Mesa. If you want a QUALITY exhaust shop go visit Cats Only on main at in Mesa. They know what they are doing and actually care about their work. read more

Terrible service!!!!! Dropped my car off for an oil change around noon. The guy at the front desk told me that it would be done in a couple of hours but that they close at 5. I got a call from them at 4:57 and a voicemail saying that my car is done. In case you weren't keeping track that is 3 minutes before they close!!! I tried calling the office ten times as I rushed down to the shop no answer, when I get there obviously after 5 they tell me sorry you can't get you car until Monday. They have it locked in the garage. The man took absolutely ZERO responsibility for the fact that they gave my no notice to pick up my car after they had finished. They don't open till 8 on Monday, so not only will I not have my car all weekend, I will also have to miss the first part of the work day on Monday! I will DEFINITELY never come back to here!! read more

Took my car in for a simple oil change today. Mark, the manager, had the mechanics lift my car again to show me a leaking strut in the back and torn boots in the front. OK, I said I'm not going to repair these today. Car comes off the lift and I start to drive away and feel like I've got square tires. I'm bouncing up and down on the seat so I drive it right back. Mark comes out and I ask him to take it for a test drive. He drives to the end of the parking lot and says yeah, the strut is stuck. Well, they weren't stuck when I brought the car in (I get that one strut is leaking, he did show it to me). We're at an impasse, Midas would not do anything to make it right. Is my car even safe to drive home in this condition? Who knows? Mark told me to run over a speed bump, really fast. That's your fix? I come home and look this up; yes it does happen. It seems that this happens when the car is lifted using a chassis lift vs. a lift where the weight of the car is on all four wheels. Actually Mark told me that it happened at Midas exactly that way. What I have issue with is the way it was handled. I will never support a business that treats its customers this way - don't feel this is the way to run a business. Nothing but trouble and POOR customer service from management. I purchased a Groupon deal for a Synthetic oil change. When I originally came in everything was fine, when I got home, I had oil leaking. I called the shop and they asked me to bring it back in. The manager Richie Schilk said his techs didn't clean off the oil spill pan. He apologized, gave me a free voucher for next time. 4/20/18, my boyfriend took my car in for the free oil change as we were taking a trip to Mexico the next day. I was informed that the manager still charged for he oil change because the voucher was only for conventional oil. Why would he give me a voucher that didn't apply to my vehicle? The next day, as we drove to Mexico I noticed my car would not accelerate as powerfully as it would normally (it's a turbo engine). It also sounded like air was being pushed out every time I tried to accelerate. Mind you, this vehicle was purchased in October of 2017 and has not been driven recklessly. Nor do I use the turbo engine except when on road trips when needing to pass other vehicles. Furthermore, the vehicle had not been driven in the month of April EXCEPT to take it to this appt since I was out of the country for work. I called the manager once I got back into the states and he was very argumentative with me from the beginning. Basically saying the charge for the oil change was valid and was trying to prove his point. I advised I would be bringing the vehicle in the next day to have the acceleration issue looked into AND we would discuss the charges. Today, I walked into the store to have the issue looked at and the manager came back in and said there was no way his crew could have done that. The turbo boost blew off the hose and basically we need to not drive in such a way as it can cause this to happen. I explained to him, we had not drove my car that way and was going to tell him it had not been driven up until that point but again he was argumentative. His lack of customer service, at a manger level, is something that needs to be reviewed by his superiors. Because I showed proof of my original Groupon for synthetic oil change, they refunded me my $35 but said I need to buy the new part for the turbo issue. He said they could help me out with the labor due to the oil change issue.. I kindly declined and advised I would rather pay more $ at the dealership than come back to them. I will be escalating the issue to their corporate office regarding the ongoing issues, the new costs incurred to me for something I am almost certain is due to their work AND the lack of professionalism of their store manager. I would suggest going elsewhere, even if it means spending a little more money. This is from someone who NEVER does Yelp reviews. read more

I brought my 02 accord in for an oil change with a 17.99 coupon from the mail. Scott, the manager there, was more than welcoming when I first stepped through the doors, and it took only 30 seconds to fill out paperwork and walk out to enjoy the rest of my lunch break. I came back later that day to pick up my car and found everything was done. There weren't any up selling or coat haggling. Scott told me all the other fluids in my car were still good, and I got the discounted price from the coupon plus tax and shop supplies, which were only a few bucks more. I had major issues with another Midas at the Tempe Autoplex. So I called up this Midas to get the repair work redone since the other shop screwed up so bad. I talked to Nick and man was I shocked on how he handled the problem. He was able to get the issues fixed with in hours and at no cost, even since a different Midas did the work. I guess because I brought it in they thought I was a stupid female and that they could con me. They called me and told me it was going to cost $600 to "fix" my brakes. I told them NO and to please put the tires back on we would change them ourselves. When we got the car back home we couldn't even get the rotor off!!! They had tightened it so tight that they had stripped the screws!!! Midas Auto "Service" doesn't provide service at all. They damage your car when you don't do what they want, so they can take your money. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYBODY!! in fact I tell all of my friends not to go there and they are spreading the word as well!! read more

Don't waste your time here, the owner Dustin and the manager Mark are just out to get your money. I needed new camshaft sensors and these fools tried charging me $368, now keep in mind this job takes 5mins, and the sensors run about 120 each. So basically Mark wants to charge me 2 hours in labor?! That's pathetic and the saddest part is, I went to Midas on Main and Lindsey and they did it for $260! Like what in the hell was this southern store trying to charge me for?? Also for my converter I was charged $815 where Wades muffler then quoted me $650 and the other Midas wants like $700. Midas is not bad and the Mechanics at this location are great, but man that manager is doing some kind of business to rip your ass off. You have to remember it's a franchise and Dustin is just worried about his check. However, if you go here work with Ray, he seems to actually care about his customers. read more

I took my truck in for an oil leak. No other issues. Midas called out that the front crack shaft seal was leaking. Ok, fine. Replace it for $1700. During the repair they added a harmonic balancer and oil level sensor. Sure, whatever. A week later I finally got to pickup the truck. Issues started right away, the level sensor was not connected, back on the rack. Finally left after that. Over the weekend I noticed the AC was blowing hot. Take it back to recharge the AC and find several panel loose and missing connectors. Two days later my battery dies. I replace. Two weeks later, I'm driving to work and my engine seizes from all the oil dumping out. I take it back to Midas and suspect they are responsible...nope, they claim it was the other seal that broke. I had another mechanic check the engine and found the brand new balancer was beat-up from pounding onto shaft and cross threaded screw. The rear seal that they claimed was leaking was not and the oil filter was missing, which leads me to believe that the engine seize was from the filter falling off. I will never take my vehicles to this shop again after the horrible workmanship and lies that I received from there. Do yourself a favor and don't go here!!! read more

I was at Midas today after already being there on Monday. Nick was a jerk from start to finish and knew nothing about cars, except for to try to upsell me things that didn't need to be done. He lied to my dad when being questioned and then tried to cover his own butt calling the general manager when we were upset about his ethics and how he was running things. He tried to overcharge and then said he would take $200 off, which wasn't even for work that was needing to be done. Milo, was the ONLY person in the shop who knew what he was talking about and showed me where the problem was. Milo should be the manager and run things, not Nick. When the work that actually needed to be done was complete, Nick was less than personable and thought our unhappiness was funny as he kept laughing at us. I will NEVER reccommend this place as long as someone like Nick is there. They are Very lucky that Milo is there an actually knows what he is doing and has fantastic service. read more
