We've been going to Brake Masters since 1999 and this is by far the best one. We have been having engine issues with our 2016 Hyundai Sonata. Both Dustin and Michael have been very helpful in diagnosing the problem. They examined all of the cylinders and Spark Plugs, and figured out that the is an issue with the actual cylinders. Since it is covered by the manufacturer's warranty, they recommended for us to contact the dealership so we wouldn't have to pay for the new parts. read more

Went for oil change and tire rotation. Asked if they would check air pressure too because light was on. Then he said it was done. I said did you rotate and check tires because what I could see they didn't. He said they did. Got home tire light was on. I checked all tires and they all had different pressure and back one was 10 lbs low. I filled all and tire light went out. I called and he apologized but that didn't make the lie go away. Went in for an oil change, took about a hour.. everything was ok until I felt like the worker was rude to me. Before paying, Gregory told me all these things I needed to get fixed and I told him I'll come back to get them done, that I just need the oil change right now. He showed me a filter which I got replaced in at the beginning of December at Big O tires, and he was like "well if you got it replaced then I don't see how it's humanly possible it's this dirty already".. like was that even necessary?? A simple ok would've sufficed.. attitude just because I declined other work for MY car. It was just small leaves particles stuck on the side, was barely even dusty.. and definitely didn't look like it needed replacing right then and there. Pretty bummed about my experience yesterday at this location and could not be paid to return. I have only taken my car to the dealership for all services, except for my last oil change I took it here. I only chose to go again yesterday as I was recently laid off and wanted to save a little money. I should have gone to the dealership instead. The wait wasn't bad at all. However, the gentleman that was up front mentioned "I told you last time you'd need your cabin air filter replaced and you do." He rattled off a few other things needed totaling over $300. But last time, he wasn't the gentleman that helped me at all, and, the gentleman that did - didn't mention anything about filters. Which I'm not surprised since I had changed them in February. I told him I was not able to do the $300+ in services as I was recently laid off and only budgeted for an oil change but took note of what he'd mentioned. Compassion is not as common these days, as he didn't say a thing and just walked out to the shop to let them know I guess. I paid and got into my car and put the paperwork in the glovebox. ALL of my glove box contents were on top of my sunglasses, rather than it being how I'd left it. So everything must've dumped out and then just thrown back in without much care - that added to some irritation I felt, but whatever. To my surprise, I couldn't shut it. I messed with it for a bit and then a different gentleman was at my window asking if everything was okay. I told him no and asked if he could help with the glove box. He also couldn't get it to shut without being forceful and called someone else over to help. Between the two of them, they figured it out enough to where it shut with some resistance, but still shut. I left and noticed my car still had that heavy/chugging along feeling when accelerating when it needs the oil changed. I noticed this before back in March, but gaslit myself into thinking I was "feeling" things. However, my car does not feel like it is running smoothly after the oil change like I'd always noticed it would before. Getting back into my car today, I noticed a pen mark on my center console, grease/dirt above my passenger visor, the roof of the interior right before my moon roof, and along the side of my window on the upholstery. I am PISSED. I now get to figure out how to get these stains out of my cars upholstery without paying someone else to detail it (laid off, remember?), my car doesn't feel any better, and I have a janky glovebox. Needless to say, I absolutely will not be returning and feel like I should've listened when others told me not to go outside of a dealership for services. At my most recent oil change appointment, they completed an inspection and noticed a part that needed to be replaced. They gave me all of the information I needed to make a decision, provided me with a very honest and reasonable quote for the parts and labor, and they were flexible with scheduling time for a future appointment. They also informed me of their warranty policy for the part they needed to replace. They took my car on the day of the appointment, completed the work in a timely manner, and sent me a text when my car was ready to be picked up. I am bummed, I thought I had found a good place for alignments!!! :( Took wife's 2016 Sienna to Brake Masters on Germann Rd in Chandler for a computerized alignment. I asked about print out of alignment specs, was told their printer still does not work after 4 years but they can take photo for me, that works, thanks! This is what they did for our last two family vehicles that went here, not a problem at all. Picked up van, no picture of alignment specs, so I asked again. I was told there was another vehicle on rack so they could not get picture now but they would send in next hour or so, great, thanks! After 3 hours and 55 minutes, no picture so I called shop and was told the same thing, car on rack, he will get right back to me. Never heard back. I sure hope they aligned it!! Update, last two visits had issues.... I found the New AC caps I had just installed were gone from my Cherokee after Brake Masters checked it for me. It was only $5 or $6, but had to go to the store again..... The big issue - I took my new Tacoma in after having installed a lift kit..... they aligned it but due to the geometry of the lift kit, it would not get into spec for the camber, not Brake Masters fault at all.... It drove OK but seemed to be getting worse daily and pulling left then right... The following Saturday I installed some ARB upper control arms specifically to bring it into spec on the Camber, and I happened to notice that the Tie Rod End was not tightened from the previous weekend by Brake Masters.. I had planned to just drive it for a week without a new alignment but this created an issue that had to be immediately addressed so I called Brake Masters and explained what was going on and they told me they couldn't get me in..... I ended up having to go somewhere else, the only availability I could find was Pep Boys, so that's where I went, they did OK and found that the toe was way out and they confirmed Tie Rod had been backing out, good thing I found it, could have caused an accident..... I went to brakes plus and they told me the routers are so good they don't even need to be resurfaced. Then I went to the dealer and they told me the same thing. LONG REVIEW, BUT WORTH THE READ IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GETTING INTO... THEY WILL BE SUPER NICE TO GET YOUR MONEY, BUT BE REALY SHORT WHEN YOU HAVE A PROBLEM I took my car to have the AC recharged, 2 oil changes, an alternator problem, and to have a part with the air flow system all between June and October of 2020 and spent approximately $1600-1700. I was a temp to AZ and liked that the parts are warrantied at any Brake Masters. Fast forward to November 25, 2020 I am back in CA and driving to AZ for Thanksgiving and 100 miles from home in the dark my battery light comes on and is flashing on and off. I turned around and made it home then rented a car to go to AZ. Brake Masters told me to take the car to any Brake Masters and if the alternator is bad they will cover it - Great!!! - Nope! Got home and took the care to Norco Brake Masters, and the guy there told me I need a $200 battery - nope battery is dead because the car ran in the dark with a failing alternator for 100 miles. Took the car to my mechanic who confirmed battery was fine after the charge and he confirm the alternator was putting out voltage. Take my car home and drive it till 1/22 without a problem, and then I decided to go to Vegas. Got to Barstow and sure enough 100 miles from home in the dark and the battery light is flashing. Turn around, drive home, here we go again..... Took the car to Brake Masters in Norco again and they check the alternator and it is putting out voltage and the battery is not dead this time...weird since the battery light is on. Guy in Norco suggests having the electrical diagnosed. Take the car back to my normal guy who I have been using for years and he checks the electrical...nothing wrong and suggests I just replace the alternator since it is probably faulty. I agree and then it gets ugly!!!!! My mechanic orders new alternator and when he pulls out the old one he realizes that the pulley on the Brake Masters pulley is totally different so he searches the part number and DL3801-16-2 is for an automatic and I have a manual. The manual part number is DL3802-16-2.They put in the wrong part... Today I call and talk to Drew letting him know what happened and our entire 2 min convo was pretty much checked your invoice, part is correct, and alternators do not have clutches, call corp office. I told him he could have pretended to care before telling me to f off. I told him I have a print out of the 2 part numbers are articles on why they are different and he shoved me off. Entire conversation lasted 6 min and I was on hold for 2-3 of them. Since Drew couldn't be bothered with hearing me I thought I would post some links on clutch pulleys and what happens when they are not on the car intended. I am not a stupid girl... I know something's. Oh and by the way they charged me almost $900 for an Autozone special alternator that only costs $200 ish dollars. In a pinch, I came here because my ABS light was on. I was heading up north and wanted to make sure everything was functioning properly so I wouldn't have any problems on my trip. I dropped off my car at 2:00 p.m. and told them I was bringing it in because of my ABS light. They said they would call me when they figured out the problem. Luckily, there are some shops close by so I just walked around and waited. By 4:45 p.m. I hadn't heard back from them but they had told me they closed at 5:30 so I walked back. As I approached the business I could see that my car was already done. I walked inside and got my wallet out to pay and the guy told me there was no charge because they couldn't figure out what was wrong with my car. I told him the ABS light was on, that's why I brought it in to them. He said "Oh, yeah, but we'd have to run a diagnostic test to figure out why that's on and we don't have enough time for that because we are about to close." I couldn't believe what I was hearing; I knew they'd never pull a stunt like this with a man. It got ugly after that, I'm not proud of the way I behaved, spitting may have been involved. Then before they even looked at my car, the guy says it's going to cost $650. Went to this shop asking for my transmission to be looked at as it was making a very loud noise when it was idle and went away when you put the clutch in. I have always done my own repairs on my car. Being able to take down a transmission would have been a little above my home mechanic skills, which lead me to reach out to this location. Base on the reviews (3.9 stars). This ease my decision about bringing my car to Brake Masters store 209. This is when I met Andrew from Brake Masters, who understood how wary I was with others working on my car. He assured me they would be able to handle this job no problem. I came to the shop and was welcomed by a friendly staff and assured this should be something that can be done today. After a few hours of them wrestling out my transmission, I was able to see why I had the noise and transmission issues. Long story short, it was due to the throw-out bearing failing and in the process, it destroyed the snout that it slides on. The mechanic working on my car Matt and the shop advisor Andrew showed me the issue and had a few recommendations to avoid replacing the whole transmission. 1. Idea was to have a local machine shop smooth out the damage snout or 2. Cut off the damaged snout, fix, and re-weld it on. Subaru in their infinite wisdom made the whole bell housing one piece. Since it was Saturday I would have to wait till Monday to get word back on how much this would cost and therefore my day was over, the car would sit there and wait. Here is where I started to have issues with the methods of the shop. 1. I saw how the car brake lines ( mind you they are stainless steel) were just hanging with the rotor pulling on the line. I had to ask them to not do that as it will potentially cause damage. a. Fixed (so far not mad) Over two days, I was able to discover this issue with my transmission is common, and there was a fix for this. I ordered that part that would fix the snout via Stainless steel sleeve and oversize bearing. This will cover the damaged area and possibly prevent this from happening again for some time. I felt this was a better option then welding back the repair pieces only for it to happen again. I delivered the part to the mechanic, he then had my car done by the next day. Now I get a call from the service advisor Andrew telling me the car is ready for pick up. However it will not stay on, no big deal I thought it might be the Tune that I have temporally on the car while it gets serviced (valet mode, makes sure you don't joy rid my car basically). Still not a big deal I advise Andrew and I was still overjoyed I was getting my car back. When I arrived Andrew stated the issue was resolved and the car is running normal, I guess they had not set the inter cooler hoses properly and therefore causing it to not stay on after the car started. Again still not worried. However, Once Was driving it home I heard a strange transmission or clunk noise when I shifted or let off the gas. Thought this was strange, upon inspecting the car to see all the work done, I noticed the following 1. Transmission oil leaking from the drain bolt 2. Transmission mounts were loose 3. Transmission fluid was on the low mark 4. Shifter cables mounts also loose 5. Exhaust was not tightened down 6. Exhaust leaks from the mid-pipe. 7. Oil residue all over the undercarriage (Icing on the cake)! I called and spoke with Andrew, This is what I was told why didn't I bring it back right away, they would have gone over and re-tighten everything down. He gave me a price break and could have charged me more of the amount of work. I asked him, "so there is nothing you can do besides tell me you're sorry and offer a free oil change?" and I received was sorry but there nothing I can do for you other than that. So after I spent my own time replacing the fluid that was used for my transmission, re-checking all the work that was done and spending my own money to get an alignment since they didn't bother to check after removing my front rotors to do the transmission change. I am over trusting a shop like this ever again! I hope you do not take your care there for anything but basic maintenance if at that. The level of quality that was done on my car was pathetic and I hope to god the Better business bureau looks into this as well. read more

We recently bought a used car and brought it here under warranty to investigate a funny sound during startup. James, store manager and fellow veteran, patiently listened to us describe the problem. WORST customer service ever. We have been coming here a few times now to get our car serviced and one of our cars has an interlock. Due to that complication from our past appointment, we came prepared this time. We called ahead to our interlock servicer and even sent in the mechanic affidavit to Brake Masters 3 days before our appt. We now arrive early to our appt and one of the mechanics comes around and rudely says that ""all that trouble isn't worth it.."" and just turned us away. We asked about that affidavit and they simply said "yeah we saw that but didnt fill it out" i was SPEECHLESS. I feel like that's not the best answer they could have given to their customer, it's like they didn't even try?? To be treated like this after all the trouble and getting up early to drop off the car before work, wow...I WILL NOT BE RETURNING.
