Don't waste your time or your money! Thinking I get piece of mind; Instead, got pain in the ass. I brought my vehicle in for an oil change and they recommended I get my pads and rotors changed. First day I got my vehicle back the right front was scraping and grooved the rotor. Brought it back and they fixed it. As soon as they machined the rotors from there on out I had tons of noise when stopping. I brought it back a second time they said it was rocks which I don't believe because of the metal to metal noise I heard. Third time I bring it back again he comes back with the "rocks" excuse but says if it will make me happy they will re-replace the front rotors and pads. Fourth time giving my vehicle they come back and tell me my hub bearing is bad and hitting the rotor which I then take it to the dealership. The dealership says no it's not the hub, it's the caliper hardware rubbing on the rotor which they fixed. Fifth time I bring it to a different Midas location which honored the life-time, replaced rotors and pads free and guess what they did it right this time, no noise! For $1200 brake job it would of been nice if they got it right the first time instead of making 6 individual trips. I don't have time to play dick-around. Cost me a lot of my time and money to get it done right! read more

Incompetent mouthbreathers. For those of you that don't know what one is, here is the definition. mouthbreather 1. literally, someone who lacks enough intelligence that they never learned to breathe through their nose. I stopped by with a screw in my tire and asked them to balance all 4 tires while they're at it since I was already there. Easy money right?! Considering they charge $28 for a tire repair and $36 to balance tires you'd expect good work. Wrong! After 45 minutes they called me into the back and told me that their machine wouldn't be able to remove my tire from the rim because of the "wheel protector" wouldn't allow the machine to get in close enough to break the bead. These are not snappy high dollar wheels mind you! I said alright, how about using a tire plug instead so they didn't even have to mess with taking the tire off. Their "tech" John didn't even know what one was... Needless to say, 2 1/2 hours into it the tire was repaired and back on my Jeep. Now for balancing the tires! Can't do that either because the hammer on weights won't stick to the "wheel protector" on my aluminum wheels. I pointed out the stick on weights currently on the inner rim and I'm pretty sure I blew the kids mind. Long story short, I didn't get my tires balanced and I will never return to this location! I'm just hoping my tires don't fall off before I make it to another shop to get the work done by a qualified mechanic. Wish me luck! read more

After supposedly having our oil changed at Jiffy Lube on Bragaw, we took our truck to this Midas on Old Seward for a look at our brakes. Manager Glenn Madlock got right on it. He let us know how bad our brakes were, walked us through the differential issues, and they even made a run to get a part because the parts supply store didn't have a driver to finish the job and get us out on time. While draining the "JUST changed that day oil" to work on the truck, we learned Jiffy Lube hadn't changed our oil as we had paid for. Service here was great and timely. We brought our daughter's car for an oil change and will be bringing our SUV in for an oil change. We feel we now have a trustworthy place to bring our vehicles to. Thanks Glenn! read more

The management is great but the same can't be said about the techs. Wanted to get a car checked for a pre buy inspection because I don't know enough about cars to make an educated decision. I called to make an appointment and when I showed up the guy I talked to on the phone just didn't put my name down. I figured I just called the wrong Midas but after I asked the guy at the desk he said no I called the right place but the guy who answers the phone just doesn't put the appointments into the computer. Besides the initial confusion the tech didn't even know how to preform the inspection and after a few minutes of looking around the car just decided it was good to go. Luckily the management stepped in and preformed the inspection the right way. After all of that I was quoted $109 on the phone then was charged $114. I would not recommend this place based on the incompetence of the technicians, at least the ones I dealt with. read more

Stop by shop on debar rd on Friday to get alignment on my truck could not get me in so we scheduled and appointment for 9:00am Saturday. Arrived for 9:00am appointment Saturday after 30 minutes someone took my truck for test ride they were gone for 20 minutes ???? at 10:00am they told me that there alignment machine was broken and said they could take it to there northern lights store and use that machine. After they gave me my truck back I stopped by the northern lights store and they said it would be 2-3 hours for them to do the alignment so I opted not. I would not recommend Midas to anyone Still wondering where my truck went for 20 minutes and why my exhaust in now making noises like it is rubbing on something under my truck read more

I was suprised at the bad reviews. I got excellent service; had a brake caliper sticking, I don't live in Anchorage, but they got me right in and took care of the problem.. Had them do some other work also, really happy with the service. read more

I was very pleased to find that earlier reviews of this Midas were not my experience at all. I was promptly greeted by a courteous and friendly face. It was mid morning and I expected that when I saw 3 other people sitting in the waiting area it would be a while before they could get me in for an oil change. I was grateful they took my vehicle in right away and had me on my way 45 min later with a free tire rotation. They were very professional and I did not feel pressured to have any other service work done on my vehicle. I will definitely be back. read more

I called another Midas location closer to my house but they didn't want to be bothered with my walk-in business within an hour of closing for the day. This location did not know I had called someone else first, but they still welcomed me to come by after I got off work. They checked out my new-to-me vehicle and walked me out to the shop to let me see for myself the cause of the sound I was hearing. Van went above and beyond to give me a no-frills estimate, and worked hard to shop around for parts that would get me back on the road safely, quickly, and affordably. I would rather set my car on fire than bring it back to these crooks. If they allowed zero stars that's what I would give them. "We need to change this part for a $1000 because we think it's bad". You know what for $1000 you better know its bad not think its bad ... ridiculous. If you choose to bring your vehicle here I hope you have deep pockets because you will be shocked when they tell how much the repairs will be. After calling around after the fact they charged me 40% over the other places I called. Dam near double on parts and labor. Do yourself a favor and check around before you bring your car here. brought my jeep and gmc in . jeep was simple oil change and new battery cables. they decided not to do cables,and when the jeep was returned to me strangely the speedometer stopped working....hhmmm....i bet they arced cables and scared it scared the 19 year old parts changer from finishing the job in the hopes it caused no damage. p.s. they also performed a 4 wheel alignment on the jeep that left the steering wheel at 1 o clock....in all this that is least of the worries...on my gmc 1997 1500 4x4. they charged me 4500.00 for new master cylinder, front brakes, new inner and outer tie rod ends. new upper a arms and 4 new low end shocks. sounds spendy right? and after all that hard 4 hours of work...lol.....they did not check any fluids, grease the new ball joints upper only even though they td me they where replaceing lower a arms also. dented one shovk to make it fit around the mount because the lower a arm was so badly worn. back to the start i took it in to midas due to lack of stability and handling due to worn out front end and shocks,and brake pedal going to floor..i got it back litterally.....litterally handling roughly 20 percent better and zero differance with brakes.....long story short,i blew my top, never raised my voice but did say some choice words at wich they responded by throwing me out of shop and refusing to give me any warranty paperwork or any paperwork at all and i had one parts changer try to and i quote. lets take it next door abd punch it out ..all while my 6 year old was 2 feet from me....not sure what my next move is but i want to sue.......never go to midassssss read more

The gentleman at Midas old Seward were very friendly and knowledgable .... They helped me in a timely manor with a brake job and a transmission service. The service was outstanding they even helped me out with a few other problems with my truck and shared their knowledge on how to repair such problems.They were aware that I was trying to get out of town in a hurry and head down south on the Alcan and without these guys I would of been in town another day or two..
