Reasonable priced. Friendly and professional staff. Provides estimates via text after few questions by the front staff - which is helpful given my busy schedule; can't always answer the phone. read more

Their prices were great, in my opinion. I paid 1/3 of what the dealership charged me for the same work. They also found a safety issue, verified with me for correction, and got it done in the time frame provided. Definitely made them my auto shop for my truck. read more

JUST TODAY...my husband went in for an oil change 4 days ago, and they told us there is $2000 worth of repairs they can't do until the 23 of August ( its the 2nd) and it is NOT SAFE TO DRIVE!!!! Needs new shocks.. There is no shaking or drifting.THEY REPLACED THE SHOCKS 3 YEARS AGO!!! 30,000 highway miles later, they need replaced.ALL this from an OIL CHANGE LIES LIES LIES I started noticing costly repairs fairly often on all the vehicles my family took there. My father would automatically pay them for anything that needed to be done. Whenever I would ask questions, I was always spoken to in a very condescending manner and brushed off. Once they had replaced the left rear brake light, it wasn't working when we brought it home. I took it back, and they charged me to replace it. Another time when we got it back, it was making strange noises. I took it there myself this time. "You replaced the shocks, and now, if we drive over a bump, it makes noises, but that had nothing to do with what you did? Even though it wasn't doing that before we brought it in?" They very patronizingly told me to leave the car there and said they would figure it out. We got the car back fixed (front sway bar apparently) at no charge but refused to admit fault. Another time They replaced something to do with the fuel. Stopped by the gas station on the way home, and when we started putting in gas, it just started spilling out underneath the car. Last year, they took care of the brakes, rotors, and alignment, charged almost $1000. It's a 08 Crossover. Now, the tires have camber damage. I was overcharged on a tire changeover, and I just found a double charge for $1,200 a few years back that I'm going to have to go find out about. Check your receipts, get a second opinion. I just got a new vehicle and refuse to take it there. read more

I can easily say these are some of the nicest and most honest mechanics I've met. They do a great job and always at a fair price - we will continue to use them for their great service and convenience of location. read more

My '95 Jeep wouldn't go in reverse so I set up an appointment to drop my car off for them to have a look. Everyone I talked to was very friendly and they got back to me within a half-hour with a diagnosis and an estimate. I called around to double check their estimate and it was right on. I didn't end up getting it fixed (decided to cut my losses) but had a great experience and appreciated their time and courtesy with my situation. Thank you! read more

This is an amazing business model that works. They have competent mechanics, they charge a fair price for the service they provide, they have amazing customer service. Went in there for a possible tire alignment after hitting a snowbank, turns out that the snow was just packed into the tired causing issues while driving. They cleaned it out no problem and didn't charge me a cent for it. Greatly appreciated and will definitely be back in the future for other automotive needs. read more

This is a really great auto shop. I have used them for multiple vehicles and an RV. The owners are a husband and wife that are there every day. They know there customers on a first name basis. They guarantee their work for 12 months or 12000 miles, and they will not perform unnecessary services. I highly recommend S and P for your auto needs. read more

Honest, affordable, convenient, and will let you know when you need work done or when your car needs to go to a specialist. I will return

OVERWHELMED with the friendliness and honesty of the staff! My husband had an oil change here a while back and we loved them. Today I brought my car in for an oil change and questions about my brakes (knowing the pads probably needed replacing) and they got in done same day, quickly, and for super cheap (much cheaper than any other place I called to have a synthetic oil change and brake pads changed). These guys have made a customer out of me. I will never take my car anywhere else! read more

The mechanics pencil whip your service and don't do a good service on your vehicle. Charge you for services that aren't needed. If you go here make sure you double check what was done so you don't get burned. There is better service shops in the area. read more

Fantastic service, friendly staff, and more importantly, great work in diagnosing and repairing major oil leaks on our 2005 Subaru Outback wagon. Thanks folks..we'll be in again as needed. read more

Have taken both of our cars here for routine maintenance/service. They do a thorough job and you get a complete detailed sheet of everything they checked/serviced on the vehicle. For anything more than tires/oil changes they ask that you make an appt, so call ahead. read more

Honest and fair, friendly staff! I really appreciate this place after some bad experiences at other auto businesses.

I've taken two cars there. Both had major problems. S&P where honest in thier assessment and pricing. The work was exceptional.

I was really impressed with S&P. Im always very skeptical of automotive shops but this place was awesome. They were professional, fast, and did a really good job. They were also very affordable. And most importantly they didn't try to sell my a bunch of other repairs that i didn't need, which is what 99% of other automotive shops will do. read more

Brought in my 12-year-old Ford F-150 SuperCrew 4x4 with the service engine light on, and popping a P0303 error code - badly misfiring on cylinder #3. I made an appointment for later in the week (Thursday), but I had the ability to drop it off early (Monday). They had it done by Wednesday afternoon, and the truck now runs GREAT!! I bought this truck used in 2014, and the previous owner said he had it been having it serviced at S & P Certified Car Care, and recommended the business. I'm glad I listened, as they've been maintaining the vehicle ever since, and I couldn't be happier!! read more

Wow. It's fixed. Bad electrical in my Mustang. Enough that I considered selling or parting it out. But after looking around it was recommended to me that I go to S&P. Glad I did because they fixed it! Couldn't believe it with all the trouble it was giving me. Super reasonable price and many thanks! read more

Great services, honest company highly recommend. So nice to find a good honest auto repair shop and they give a military discount. Thanks again read more

S&P did a great job fixing up my truck. My catalytic converter was on its way out so I took my truck in to get taken a look at. They gave me a quote and I decided to call around to a few other local shops to compare prices and S&P for nearly $400 cheaper! They fit me in later that week and my truck drives so much better. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. read more

I have been a S&P Certified Car Care customer for several years and have always accepted their higher prices, which I associated to "its Alaska, there's shipping cost", or a convenience for being in Eagle River, but after having my last bill reviewed by a professional I found that I was being OVERCHARGED (double billed) on labor. As it was explained to me, S&P was charging fair market price for parts (cost plus markup) and the steps in the repairs were accurate, but they were charging me for each step as an individual repairs; even when one repair was required to get to the second repair and even a third repair. This means I was billed for the same labor multiple times even though the labor only occurs once in the total repair. The example was: they would charge to place a valve cover gasket at the normal number man-hours and then charge me the normal number of man-hours to replace a head gasket, even though 1/2 the labor would have already occurred with the valve cover gasket repair. Legal or not... I don't know. I authorized the repairs and I accept that. HOWEVER, to most quality shops this is considered "padding the bill" and is not cool. I have since stopped taking my vehicles there and am seek a new shop. I would suggest anyone who uses S&P to get them to justify their labor charges. I would NOT recommend. read more

WARNING! S&P services in eagle river, ak. Completely robbed me! 3 weeks ago I was having truck issues. I've been to S&P before and it happened to be the closest shop so I figured I'd drop my truck off there. They had it for 2 weeks and 2 days. Charged me $4700 for a new transmission. 3 days after I get my truck back it begins to do the SAME thing it was doing before I had it "fixed". Took it in today and they try to tell me it hasn't been tuned up since 2011 and there is a spark plug problem. Why wasn't that done before I picked it up under the impression it was "fixed"? The guy told me that if a truck is unable to drive the first thing they do is throw a transmission in it. So instead of fully going over and giving a proper diagnosis they assumed it was the transmission and I, a single mother, was charged $4700. You charge someone $4700 they assume you have done your job. Come to find out my brother had the same issue with them. Unprofessional! read more
