Great service!!!! Living in Seward means being early to get in requires a LOT of driving at an early hour and the man I dealt with (Ty I believe was his name) was AWESOME!!!!! Even arriving at 7:45am there was a line and he took my number and called me when it was my turn so I could go run errands while waiting. Had my tires done in maybe 15 minutes. The place was nice and clean and the ladies room was clean in an all male staff environment lol. If I decide to buy snow tires this year, I'm coming and buying up directly from this place and Thai because Alyeska tire as a company has never let me down and the service I received from this gentleman was so good. Had the right front rotor/pad assy replaced in Homer, AK shop 8 months ago. Same grinding noise started up again 2 weeks ago. A friend checked all the rotors then replaced right rear rotor. Both rear brake pads were down to metal. The charge for changing out just the one front rotor & both front pads was $1888 and they apparently couldn't be bothered to check ALL the pads during that visit!!!!! Learned from a friend that she had the same work done this year at Chinook Auto Repair for $330--less than a 1/5th what I paid these crooks. This place SUCKS. read more

Wow, so much has changed here, not for the better. This is going to be a LONG, OVERLY DETAILED review, so here's the TLDR: Put on 3 studded tires, left one all-season on, told me to cancel my weekend plans due to their error, didn't get 4th tire till a week later, despite saying it would take a few days, acted like they were doing me a favor Week 1, Wednesday: Getting your winter tires on is a part of Anchorage life. And often not a fun part. I decided to go to a tire shop near my work so I could drop the car off, then walk back to work. The process was smooth and painless. But, they called me a few hours later to tell me that one of my tires had a bulge on it and it wasn't safe to put on. They marked the bulge and suggested I take it back to where I bought it, since the tire "looks very new" (it was!) So I called Alyeska (where I purchased the tire...for almost $300) to inquire about the warranty (I had already checked Nokian's website, which says they have a 4 year warranty). They told me it "depends on the bulge". Week 1, Thursday: I brought in the tire, and they looked at it. They told me it would cost $7.50 to replace it. Great! They didn't have one at the store but they were going to get one from the warehouse. It would be there Thursday afternoon. They told me about how grateful I should be because they were splitting a set of 4. (OK? I bought tires from you because of your warranty? Why should I be happy you are honoring it?) I could drop the car off Thursday morning, and they would mount the tires when the 4th winter tire arrived. I woke up early, got outside Alyeska at 7:30am, and waited in line. (They open at 8am). After an hour in the cold, I was finally at the front counter and dropped my car off. Finally! I paid to take a Lyft back to work because I apparently have no close friends or family up here. I get a call Thursday afternoon. I pick up and they explain that they don't have my tire in...but they put 3 of the (studded) winter tires on, and left one of my all-seasons on. I told him I had planned to drive to some ice climbing areas and he told me "I wouldn't do that" and "I would drive it like you have a spare on it". I told him I'd prefer he put all the all-seasons back on. He let a large silence form on the call. I gave in and told him I'd cancel my weekend plans. He said he'd call me on Monday when they had the 4th tire. I took another Lyft to get my "tripod" car with 3 studded tires and one, lonely, all-season tire. Week 2, Monday: No call. I called Alyeska, no pick up. Week 2, Tuesday: No call. I called Alyeska, no pick up. Week 2, Wednesday: No call. I called Alyeska, no pick up. Week 2, Thursday: They called to tell me they had my tire. I showed up, and they quickly replaced the final tire. At checkout, I calmly and emphatically explained to them that I had cancelled my weekend plans due to their error (putting winter tires on my car when they didn't yet have the 4th), and that it didn't seem fair to charge me full price after forcing me to drive my car "like it has a spare on it" for a week. I said I could've pushed and had them put the all-seasons back on, but I helped them out by letting them leave the tires in the awkward configuration. Their response "we wouldn't have put them back on if you asked us, we couldn't." Dejected, I just said "OK, I just thought you could show me some good faith, since I showed you some for your error." In summary, I don't recommend buying tires here, nor getting them changed. read more

I stopped by Alyeska Tire south of Dimond yesterday. I inquired about tires and oil change service and wanted to see when they had a space available. The male employee said very bluntly they did not do oil changes anymore, and they dont have the tires I specified and told me to go to American Tire if I wanted those. He didn't even let me know if there they had any other tire options for my Jeep Wrangler. I went to American Tire, just north of Dimind, as he suggested and was welcomed there and while they did not have the main choice I was looking for, they took the time to find alternate choice and print out a free quote for service. I was disappointed in the lack of customer service at Alyeska and wanted to do business, but as they recommended, I found American Tire to be the winner. read more

A little terse on the phone with my wife while I was on night shift, but going in first thing in the morning to nab a spot in their first come first serve system I could understand it. Right at opening I was already in a line and the phone was ringing incessantly. That being said, the gentleman I dealt with was curt and professional and had me on my way on some brand new Nokian tires I'd heard great things about. Free tire rotation and patching (replacement as well if needed under a certain mileage iirc) are some great bonuses. Ended up taking a cab home and was heading back to the location in a little over an hour. Will definitely use them for any tire needs while I'm living in AK! read more

Applied about 2 1/2 weeks ago, worked with them for about a week and a day and one of there "trainers" told me to shut the fuck up and fuck you and kept calling me a faggot. 10/10 wouldn't recommend working for this business. I like the Alaska Alyeska Tire franchise (our home shop is in Soldotna). We had a Volvo's OEM tire blowout on a slow drive through Denali Natnl Park's paved road (later learned the 4-yr old tire's steel belts "separated"). No tire shops in that neck of the woods, folks. We rode a donut-spare down to the Palmer Alyeska Tire shop. Nice guy there, but out of stock for our tire needs. He checked tire inventories and directed us to this Alyeska Tire shop in Anchorage. We wanted 4 new all-weather tires for our all-wheel-drive car. We left the Volvo with really helpful guys; took a taxi to a restaurant for lunch. When we got back in about an hour, our car was ready. We resumed our trip home to Soldotna ... at normal Hwy speeds! :o) read more

Called this morning to buy some studded tires. Guy I talked to was extremely rude. He seemed hurried, so I asked him if I should call-back later when he wasn't so busy. His reply (in a very condescending tone) was "I'm here for you - it's all about you now". I do not support businesses that treat me with contempt, and will never shop at or recommend Alyeska Tire. Ended-up going to Cork's Auto in Palmer. They got me in right away and we're very respectful and professional. read more

Given the rave reviews here, this place is obviously good for their tire service, and I have been witness to that fact. I cannot, however, recommend this place for an oil change. I acquired a leak after the fact and was told that "Chevys are leakers." Interesting, that Chevy has been my car of choice these past 25 years or so, and for good reason. I see a TON of Chevy's on the road, and have not come across a shred of evidence regarding fluid leaks based on research that I have done. And not once have I ever had a leak issue after getting an oil change. So, in that respect, I cannot recommend Alyeska Tire for anything at all besides tire service. I recommend Northway Xpress Lube for a full service, professionally done, oil change. And I get better tire service from Costco. read more

I didn't see my 5 star review on here for this great company, so I'm going to re-post it here again AND across all platforms so that EVERYONE sees it. These guys, and this company, are simply amazing! They take great care of our cars and always get us in and out quickly since they know we live relatively far away and that we need our tires placed early/removed late during the changeover seasons due to our residence on a mountainside (yes, really). We've bought several sets of Hakkapeliitta studded snow tires from them and they always place/remove them with great care to our vehicles. Rich, Ty, and Kao are the guys we know best and who we ask for by name, but I'm certain your needs will be well served by whomever is there. For your tire/wheel purchasing (and vehicle repair needs) always call these guys first - they are a local business who earns our highest recommendation! read more

It seems every year I have an annoying experience at winter changeover, but that's because I've never been to Alyeska Tire! We both got new tires this year, and what a smooth experience! My husband works a rotating schedule out in the bush but staff was able to work with him to prepay for tires while they had a good sale going on, and set them aside for his week off. We expected to have to wait for quite a while with everybody else in town needing changeovers, but we walked right in and were promptly checked in. The gentleman working said to give them two and half hours so we went to Girdwood for lunch & by the time we returned we had brand new tires with no scratched rims, no missing air caps or badging, no scuffed paint, none of the issues we've had elsewhere. The parking lot is roomy, there is a waiting area with a TV, coffee, and popcorn, and everybody was super nice...but the best part was the deal we got on the Hakkapeliitas! Seems to be a fine business, BUT I bought 4 pricey Nokian tires there yesterday and they were made in Nokian's RUSSIAN factory. Seeing as how Vladimir Putin is waging cyber war against US, I was a bit peeved. If the DOT number on your tires starts with 60, those are Russian. A factory in the US won't be running until at least 2020. Not sure if they get any from their factory in Finland. read more

Tire cost was on par with other places in Anchorage (aside from Costco), and the change out was covered in the purchase of the tires. What was great is that they called me to let me know they could squeeze me in at the end of the day just a day before the deadline for removing studs. Was super nice to not have to get up at 7am! First time customer, wanting to get winter tires before the mad rush of customers. Able to get the right tires at a reasonable price. Two stars off due to waited at least 30 mins, unbeknownst to me, my vehicle had been sitting ready and front desk didn't take the initiative to check me out. I had seen my vehicle driven to front of store but lost sight of it thinking they were test driving it or something. When l saw my tire mechanic working on another vehicle I went looking for mine....not pleased with sitting there much longer then required and lack of front desk not checking me out til I said something. read more

I went in for 4 new tires and alignment for my Nissan Altima. I was told that it would take about 2.5 hrs to finish up. The front staff was awesome and very helpful. I walked to a restaurant for lunch and then came back. I still had a little time to kill so I sat down in the very welcoming sitting area with the nice T.V. and remote available to turn the channel if needed. There is also free wifi, a HUGE plus when killing time waiting. I do a lot of work online, so it was a lifesaver! It turns out that while changing my tires, that the guys had discovered that my front rims were bent and needed replaced. No problem. They already had the car and I was more than happy to get it done at the same time. I need to mention that, even with replacing the rims, my car was ready to go within the quoted 2.5 hours which was so great! Too often, unrealistically short times are quoted to placate customers when a realistic time is much more appreciated. The only downside was that when I left, my left front tire was low on pressure so I filled it up. Frustrating, but not a deal-breaker or anything. However, the tire was still leaking about two hours later and I reluctantly went back. It turns out there was a leak around my valve. The guys in front were apologetic and fixed the leak (tires were under warranty at that time). However, I don't hold that against Alyeska because they did all they could to make things "right" as quickly as possible. Long story short, I will be back and plan to use Aleyska for all my car maintenance needs. I can definitely recommend Aleyska Tire! read more

This is not a good tire shop. Bought a tire a few weeks ago that was under warranty. Took into Alyeska Tire. They wouldn't honor the manufactures warranty. Guy was rude too. Called the manufacture and told them what the guy at Alyeska said. They had me fill out a form online and sent me a new one via mail no charge. I would go buy tires somewhere else. read more

These guys are great. Totally got me up and running. Needed different steering knuckles for my truck to put on the new smaller rims I wanted, so Kale called around the yards and got me some good used ones for a fraction of the price of new ones. Work was perfect. My truck has never driven so strait. Follow up service has also been amazingly good. Highly recommend. read more

We had a small hole in a tire, easy fix- they did fix it just fine, but be prepared- they are rude and it took over 6 hrs for them to fix it. When we called to check both times it was "there are three people ahead of you." Then when we picked up the tire we asked if they would put it back on the car for us and it was, "well there are three people ahead of you!" we didn't have another 6 hrs to waste of our vacation so we did it ourselves. Why they wouldn't know we would want the tire on the car is beyond me- it should have been considered one job. The people in this shop are literally the only rude people we have met in the entire town.... maybe it's because we are out of towners but still take your business elsewhere if you can. read more

They also solved a problem for me that I had on a winter setup that I had bought from a different shop. Rich is fantastic at explaining and way beyond fair. Disappointed. Bought set of tires. Was at store at about 8:30 AM. Was told it would be ready in 3 hours. I waited for about 4 hours. While waiting I noticed many customers checking in after me & picking up cars within approximately 1/2 to 1 hour. When I asked at front desk about car & wait time I was told they were just starting to work on it! I also noted a gentleman in front of me who had bought new set of tires & his car was ready about same time as mine. Otherwise I am happy with the tires & car isn't so squirely in snow. Just went in for an oil change, very nice employees and they even helped me with an estimate for new tires even though I don't need them right now, I will be back when I do because I like to support local businesses. If I could make one suggestion it would be to get rid of all the glade plug ins, they were way to strong, I almost went outside to wait, I would've rather smelled the popcorn or even the tires over plug ins. I got off work at 5 to a flat tire, drove to the nearest place and was turned away because it was too late in the day and most shops close at 6. I called Alyeska Tire and Thai answered the phone, I explained to him the situation and he told me to come by. When I got there Rich evaluated my tire and brought it back, it was fixed within 30min. Their prices are a little bit more than average but they stand behind their job. My steering wheel was crooked after alignment, after driving it for a month, I took my car back Alyeska Tire shop and they fixed it without any charge. I took my car (Lexus LX450) to Lexus Kendell Dealership in Anchorage first, they kept my car for a night and the next day they called me that I have to change certain parts to get the alignment done and it will cost me 4800 dollars. Lexus dealership charged me 30 dollars for using special tire iron to open the lug nuts. My car don't need any special key for opening lug nuts. I was told by the Xpress Lube guys to take it to Alyeska Tire shop in Anchorage. I didn't have to make any appointment for alignment, they work on the basis of first come and first serve, they finished the job in couple hours. read more
