Was looking a good, reliable mechanic, and found Dom's business on Yelp. The reviews were excellent, saying he's reasonable with prices and an overall good mechanic, except one review. I read it and deemed it was both their faults and that shouldn't hinder me from seeking his business and services. So, I try to contact him about my car. Called 7/16 for a quote, called back 7/21 (no answer) and 7/23 (answered). On the phone, he said "next week" he could see my car and I'm like great! He says to text him my information and car troubles, so I did that same day. Didn't receive any type of communication for almost a week until today (7/30), I was still open to working with him until he offers me a slot and takes it away in less than 3 hours. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate, considering he didn't get back to me for almost a week. Then he hearted the message which seemed petty. Also here's a tip: don't talk to your customers like they're a burden and wasting your time (by your tone) because obviously I wasted my time with you. read more

Dom is very responsible and reliable mechanic in Anchorage with extremely reasonable rates. He focuses on mobile mechanic work, to meet you at your house, or in my case, he does prebuy inspections. Dom accomplished 2 prebuy inspections, the first vehicle was potentially a lemon, and he helped me dodge a bullet. In addition, he gave all of the details of the 2nd vehicle so I could negotiate a lower price. If you're purchasing a vehicle, he is a MUST have service. I spoke with Dom a week ago to set up an appointment time and date (which was today about 2 hours ago). I have 7 kids (I'm a foster parent), and I'm a full-time student. Between doing homework and tending to my kiddoes, I missed a text and a phone call from Dom because one of my kiddoes had my phone. Rather than showing up at our already agreed upon date, time, and location, Dom just moved on to his next appointment. About a quarter to 4, I realize what time it is and clearly i've not spoken to Dom so I got my phone and reach out to him. Rather than having any understanding he put the blame on me for the missed appointment. Saying I knew we had this appointment, I should have had my phone readily available so he could call prior to coming (this was not discussed when we originally agreed that he would be here today at 2pm). I just wasted a week where I could have scheduled with someone else. Dom's approach to this situation was ridiculous and I will not be reaching out to this guy for any future service needs. So many reviews say he was reliable, but in this case, he was flat out disrespectful and lacked any professionalism when I reached out. Update (same day as initial review): Just received a phone call (920 at night) from Dom, who questioned my review attempting to justify his actions of moving on to his next appointment because I did not immediately answer my phone at the appointed time. He mentioned I was a "jerk-wad" and fit the description for a "typical Yelper" because I foster 7 children and for writing my initial review. He also mentioned that assuming that someone will be at the time and place agreed upon was unrealistic in his line of work. His response to my initial review also provides false information as he texted me once at 204, and called at 210, contradicting his message of "I always call my customers at least an hour in advance". This follow-up phone call of his continues to prove my initial point of a complete lack of respect and extreme unprofessionalism, simply for leaving a 1-star review based solely on my own experience with him. read more
