These guys always jack up the prices of most vehicles and sure u get a new car but I promise you, you're gonna save so much more money if you go elsewhere. These guys tend to tack on excessive above market prices for cars. sky high prices and bad practices. I bought a car and these guys didn't even want to look at my car when I went to sell. It's interesting to see how they treated me when I was buying something versus when I was trying to sell them my car. The "quote " was made up and way below market value. And they didn't even loook at the car. If they really care about being number one in the community they need to work with all people to help them with their transportation needs and not worry so much about filling their pockets . 2 stars for SHUTTLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Mid city in general gets 4 starts but the shuttle driver is NOT friendly. I had a recall on my vehicle and was told it would take 2-3 hours to be fixed. They offered me a 10:15 shuttle and I hopped on and got dropped off with no complaints. At the end of my ride I asked when he would be back to get me and he said I had to call and be put on the docket. I followed direction and was offered an 11:15 shuttle back or one at 1:15pm. I dropped my car off early for my 9:30am appt so decided to take the 11:15 shuttle so I could return in time. When I got in the car the driver, an older black man, started to lecture me. He told me I was taking away what was supposed to be his lunch break and that "this wasn't going to fly". I apologized and told him I was offered 11:15am as a time slot and that I was not aware he wasn't supposed to be working. To which he responded that he was working but he doesn't want to have to drive... well buddy that's your literal job. Anyway, I spent 10 min of the car ride being lectured sitting in the back seat feeling like a chastised child lmao. Needless to say I will not be riding their shuttle again in the future. After several telephone calls made, and voicemails left, to make an appointment with the Sales Manager Jon Zaugg (who couldn't be bothered to call back), made arrangements with Austin specifically for a 2025 Honda Passport Black Edition. Show up and he has nothing more than a 2024 model (way overpriced) and a ridiculously low discount $3,000 from the sticker price. Keeps pushing, keeps shoving this model. Asks for fob "to check some things out." Without my consent, went through my vehicle's storage areas and retrieved my registration without so much as asking for permission or an apology for having done so. "All the sales managers do that." This review is for the sales and finance departments. I was there yesterday seeking a used vehicle for my new 16 year old driver. This would have been my 3rd vehicle purchase from Mid City. The 2 previous vehicles were new vehicles. One purchased just 6 months ago. They had a vehicle posted for sale on their website that I wanted to see. When I arrived they were very busy. We had to search for the car. It was in the very furthest back parking lot. It had not been detailed yet and was filthy on the inside. I was assured it would receive a deep detail inside and out. When we started the car, both me and the sales person noticed a heavy smell of gas. He said it could be that the gas cap was loose or there was spilled gas somewhere nearby. Let the gaslighting begin! Regardless, I wanted to get more info on the vehicle. The sales person told me it had already been through service for inspection. I asked for those records to see the list of what was inspected. He could not provide that and instead assured me the vehicle had a 30 day warranty that covered 50/50% parts and labor if anything was wrong after I drove it off the lot. Red flag #2. Gaslighting again. I went into the dealership with a pre-approval letter from Coast Central less than 24 hours old. Pointless. They were not willing to make a simple phone call to my bank rep to get more info and instead insisted on the entire credit application. I pushed back. The sales person insulted me by doubting the rate I was given by repeatedly stating those rates are typically for people with really good credit. They need to run my credit. Guess what? I have really good credit! More gaslighting and red flags. The final straw for me was when I was suspicious there was only one key to this vehicle. The sales person did not disclose this to me. I called a local locksmith for a quote on a new key and was quoted $350-$500 to get a new key fob. I confirmed with the finance manager (because my sales person had disappeared) getting ready to run my credit and he said yes, just one key. I shared my quote from the locksmith and he just nodded. I said "Mid-City is going to pay for a 2nd key; right?" And he said no. So I walked. The level of disrespect and gaslighting was just too much for me. I also must note that I had visited 2 other dealers the same day. I had positive and informative interactions at both dealerships. The sales people answered all of my questions and seemed to genuinely want to help me. Unfortunately for me, Mid-City had the vehicle I was most interested in. I could say so much more but I will leave it here. My advice is to be very careful with this dealership and make sure you have all the information. I had a great experience bringing my Honda here for servicing! It was easy to call & make an appointment for the next morning, and everyone I talked to (making appointment, guiding me where to park, check-in) was super nice, even to an airhead that knows nothing about cars. :p For a full 1115,000 mile recommended servicing with an engine coolant refill, brake inspection, oil change, multi-point inspection, tire rotation and (optional) throttle body cleaning service to help with mileage efficiency, the total w/ tax was $392. There were cheaper options, too, but I wanted everything done. The wait was less than 2 hours, and I actually enjoyed myself at my own 4-seat table with freshly ground & brewed local coffee and choice of x3 types of toasted bagels and cream cheese. The music was catchy and some people were even bopping around in their seats. There was a free shuttle I could have taken home if I had wanted, too. After the service, everything was patiently explained to me, so I was really pleased! read more

Unfortunately dealerships are always more expensive than taking them to a local repair shop. I agree that some people can find it a bit of a rip off specially when you're trying to get your basic car services such as a tune up or alignment. The reason for the stars are for a the following reasons (I am discussing Toyota car dealership and not Honda Dealership) I appreciate that the Toyota dealership staff is always helpful and really friendly, they are willing to answer any of your questions even if that means just to get a quote on tires which can also go for a pretty high price. In the past they used to service your car with a car wash if you had the mile services plan, sadly they stopped doing that. I have never had a rude representative at this location actually the opposite most staff is usually in a calm, funny, relaxed mood. This morning I called too early and left a voicemail thinking they were closed. Thankfully I made called again and found out they were open, I made my way over there and think to myself should I tell them to ignore the voicemail I just left? "Naw they haven't called me so I bet they figured I had just called back" but as I was sitting in the waiting room I receive a call from Mid City World and the lady at the front desks says Hi I just want you to know we are open" such a sweet lady and I respond " Thanks but Idid figure it out and by the way I am sitting right across from you" we both end up having a good laugh! That is just one example of how this location has always gone out of their way to ask if you have been help, or if they can help you with anything. Sadly at the moment they are only offering coffee and water they no longer offering bagels etc. which makes totally sense :-) Ever since I have stopped by here the carousel always seems to be turned off :-( it also makes sense why it would be shut off right now. I am on the fence about extended warranty, if it wasn't because I was naive and had done no research , I more than likely would have gone with a local shop. One last thing, I appreciate that this dealership is a perfect location for someone who does not wish to wait long to get their car service, they offer shuttle services (co-vid closure) or a waiting area, but better yet for those who can not sit still and would rather go on a nice walk, right by the car entrance or the exit of the dealership there is a parking area where people can go for a walk. Beware of the Honda Sevice mechanics they changed my oil and forgot to put oil back in it. I drove around for a months listening tp car rattle when i checked the oil it was bone dry not even a lick of oil on the stick. Wth? I put 5 quarts in it. I'm lucky i didnt blow the head. This review is for their service department. Horrible service!!! My daughter's 2023 car was under warranty and was brought in because it was making a noise and the tires were all low. They only test drove car in parking lot and said they couldn't hear noise and then they only filled 1 tire with air! She didn't realize until the next day when she went to drive that 3 of the 4 tires was in the 20's still. So annoying!!!! I even talked to the service lady on the phone to ensure what was getting done would get done and she ensured me. My daughter had an appt and waited 2hrs for them to fill one tire! My wife and I have a 2019 Toyota forerunner which developed a noise in the front end we took it to midcity and a very knowledgeable mechanic found something that nobody else could find. We recently had an alignment, and the noise was coming from bolts that needed to be torqued properly not only do they take care of the noise, but they did it in timely fashion. First and foremost , they rip people off. They charge $140 per hour just to look at your car and inform you what is wrong with the car. For starters I was waiting for a little less than an hour. I saw that the "specialist " who helped was just sitting and on his phone. I walked over and said how much longer for them to finish. The guy got off his phone and walked over to "check". He said that the guy was just finishing up. I was in desperate need to find out what was wrong with my car so I decided to search a place simply because it had Toyota. The woman at the cash register was friendly and other women at desks were also friendly. I'm sure if I would've just stayed at the lobby waiting they wouldn't care $280 easy. I don't recommend y'all seek services from them. I called Firestone today to inquire about their services. I don't know what they usually charge to inspect the entire car. Be very cautious with this companies online financing option. They offer it yet the employee whom I talked to when I called in said they don't get the online applications. So I received a hard credit inquiry, no call back from the dealership and a salesman who said it doesn't work. If you're employees know it doesn't work you should fix it because my information is now floating around the cloud now and no one one knows where my info is at. Stellar performance there. I just wish I had read the reviews prior to this . Be careful giving this company your personal information. I also realized after reading my credit report that I had applied here once before and never received a call back. Very scary watch your personal information with these guys. I usually take my car in to get serviced here, I was due for a major service which I hadn't gotten done here before. They wanted to charge me $1800 to do a major service on my element, instead I just decided to get my oil changed and my tires rotated. When I got my car back they recommended replacing my CV boot and some other fixes. Afterwards I took my car down to my old mechanic in the bay area to get the major service done and he only charged me 600 and gave me a second opinion on the repairs they suggested. When I picked up my car he said my CV boot had at the very least another year left on it and did not think any of the other fixes were necessary at all. Seems like this place just wants to up charge you for unnecessary repairs, I will not be returning in the future. read more

Honda Service Center is a complete joke. They ripped me off of $800+ and my car is still not fixed. I recently took my 2007 Odyssey into their service center because the battery (less than 1 year old) was dead. I was also having a problem with one of my electric sliding doors. My car was beeping alllll the time like the door was open, even though it was closed (so annoying). The door was the main reason I chose the dealer over any other mechanic. The first time I took my car in to them, I paid $65 for them to test for a drain on the battery, as well as $45 for them to look at the door. They told me my alternator had a faulty diode pattern and needed replacement. I let them replace it, for $600 on top of those diagnosis fees. They apparently could not find any issue with my sliding door (wasn't beeping when I took it in), but charged me that $45 for looking at it anyways. Whatever. At least the main problem is fixed, right? WRONG. The very next day, my car would not start. Dead battery, again! The door was beeping again as well. So I called them and made a second appointment. I confirmed with them multiple times that they would not be charging me ANOTHER diagnosis fee, as they already did once and obviously didn't diagnose my car properly/in its entirety. I brought my car into the shop, and they printed out some paperwork for me to sign. There were 3 sheets; the "receipt" I got--which states exactly what work they were doing on the car (no $ on it, though), a bright yellow paper that I only got a glimpse at--which had $195 written on it, and the paper I signed. The guy helping me printed these out and showed me them. When I saw that one of them had $195 written on it, I asked, "I'm NOT paying another fee for you guys to look for the problem again, correct?" before I signed. The man said, "Oh, no, let me just get this out of the way," and promptly snatched that paper out of my hands and shoved the one I needed to sign at me. I felt rushed and on the spot and, stupidly, I signed it. Later I received a call from them, letting me know that they thought they had pinned down the problem: the sliding door, the one I was having troubles with, was apparently drawing on the battery and causing it to die. I was informed that if they were going to continue diagnosis (NOT even repairing yet), I would have to START paying for it, because it was now technically a "new problem." I declined, because if I had to pay--not that I should have had to pay for MORE diagnosing--I'd rather have a different mechanic look at it and fix it for cheaper (dealerships always overcharge). Upon picking up my car, I was charged $156 (the guy nicely told me he had negotiated the price with his manager down from the original $195). It was ar that moment that I realized I had been played. I allowed myself to be pressured into signing something I didn't fully read, and now I was on the hook for something I didn't agree to. The yellow paper the man had snatched from me was the estimate, which was probably also stated on the paper I signed, however I felt pushed to sign it and didn't read it well enough. I was livid. Unfortunately, there wasn't much I could do. I tied my own hands on that one. I am here now, having paid OVER $800, and my car is still not fixed. They tricked me into paying way more money than I ever should have. I am partially responsible for what happened. I did not read clearly what I was signing. However, I never got any kind of receipt with money numbers on it until AFTER I had paid. And after I had signed the estimate agreement the second time I brought in my car, they continued to reassure me that they were not charging me anything. I think that those two things were very sleazy and inappropriate. Never, EVER, take your car here. Especially if you are a young female like me. They will milk you for as much as they can, and they are not honest businessmen. And always ALWAYS read everything on a paper you are signing, I learned this the hard way. P.S. When I got my car home from the second trip to the dealer, I noticed my hood will not close all the way. They messed it up somehow, and now I will have get that fixed as well. read more

Bought my Tacoma down south but get it serviced from Mid city. The service is beyond slow. 2 hours and 45 minutes for oil and to patch a nail hole in the tire. When I asked 2 hours into the appointment they said they had to switch technicians. could have taken it to a local tire store and had it fixed in 15 minutes and for free. But no I waited all this time and had to to pay for the tire repair. Never again. read more

Teenage son lost a key to our 2006 Tacoma, he brought it in to get a new key. They were unable to program the key due to a worn ignition cylinder. They charged him $123.56 for a useless cut key that doesn't work. After speak speaking with the service manager I got no where, says he's got to pay his guys even if they weren't successful. The service advisor I just spoke to brought this review down to one star. I've been bringing my '17 Tacoma in for regular maintenance with them. I was told that the services list are not necessarily the services performed. Each time I bring my truck in it says the brakes were checked. However they were not bc I just brought my truck to a tire center for new tires and the brakes need to be replaced and rotors resurfaced. Yes, they did not pull my tires to rotate on the last visit bc "I" was the one that told them my tires are bad and need to be replaced BUT the brakes did not get this bad in two months when they were last inspected. So, The service advisor talked in circles and nothing was resolved. I will be going elsewhere for service and vehicle purchases. Old review: Service is always fast (now we know why! ) and the people are friendly. The shuttle will take you to work or home if you can't wait. The waiting area can be loud so bring your headphones. I'm not sure why there's so many low ratings. My experience has been pretty good with them over the years. I bought my first truck in 1997 and most recently, had a pleasurable experience with them when looking for a Toyota Highlander Hybrid. After a not-so good first impression for one of the sales associates that kind of dropped the ball a few times, John Dalton, the General Manager worked with me in finding the best deal possible. We literally spent number of days researching what my car was worth, and pricing against other cars in the Bay Area (where I moved from). John's pricing was very good but in the end, I decided on not getting it and will probably opt for a different vehicle. He went above and beyond and appreciate all he did. Brought my Toyota Prius in for a brake service, my breaks were hella squeaky and obviously rubbing. they cleaned them and said there's nothing wrong with them charged me $90 for the service and said "they might still squeak a little" after the drive home they squeaked just as much as before and nothing changed! Later qualified mechanics found the very problems mid city was supposed to fix. I ended up paying so much money between mid city's incompetence and mechanics who know how to fix vehicles. They couldn't find a problem several times so I was again charged their obscene labor. I had to again have different mechanics fix the issues .
