Needing a new car, very unexpectedly, we wanted a vehicle that would last. A family loan of a 2015 Subaru with nearly 200k convinced us to try one. Due to the Covid pandemic we did not expect to find "our" car on a local lot. And, yet, there it was, having just arrived when we needed it! And with all the features we wanted, and then some. Disappointed that they overcharged me for an oil change. Most concerning was that the price they were charging me was significantly higher than their original estimate and I had not approved the difference. My understanding is that this is a violation of state law. When I tried to reconcile with the cashier, she said I had to speak with my service advisor. Unfortunately he was tied up on a call and I was in a hurry. I called them a few days later. They made some excuses as to why it happened. Then they offered to crefit back my card. It's pretty obvious that they don't have a system to flag when there is a difference between estimate and charge at the cashier to ensure that the customer has been notified and approved of such a change to the original estimate. Sure seems like they need this! Be careful to look over your final bill versus their original estimate! read more

We get our Outback serviced here and they are always on schedule. I also bought my Leer truck topper here. I had a bad experience at the Leer dealership in Colorado with my last truck but these guys ensured that I received the right topper and fit. No leaks, no window lock problems or electrical problems. We were pleasantly surprised by the great service and compassion we received from the Service Dept. James Wilkinson greeted us with a smile, listened to our story of what the car was doing, and what our situation was, being that we were on vacation and far from home. Jim took compassion on our situation and got us a substitute vehicle so that we could continue our vacation plans while our car was getting repaired. He managed to work their already full schedule, and under COVID conditions, to get our vehicle repaired in less than 24 hours! He saved our vacation and managed to allow us to continue on our trip, minimally interrupted. We cannot thank him enough! This is our first Subaru, and we have heard all the hype of how long they last and all the compassion the company has for the communities it is in. We are not young and have had many cars previously, but I don't think we will buy anything other than a Subaru after this experience. They are the first to demonstrate customer-focused service to us in over 30 years. Thank you for that! read more

We had a really great experience here, I believe the salesperson's name was JP, and he exceeded our wildest expectations of how simple and easy and straightforward it could be to buy a car. There was no annoying back-and-forth and going to talk to a manager and any of that nonsense. Just here's what our online research said the price should be, OK, a few other items to sort out and it was done! He was not pushy at all, just wanted us to get the features that we actually needed. They're great at selling the car and the features they want you to buy, so be sure you know exactly what you want before going there. They're very attentive during the buying process, but once the lease was signed trying to get them to help me has been annoying. McCrea Subaru has excellent customer service, and I felt like they were fair and prompt with their service of my Subaru.

I gave it three stars because they were very pleasant. I brought my car in to them for a problem. They told me that they had fixed it. However it then had problems again. I took it to another Subaru dealer who looked up on their computer what McCrea had done to fix it. Apparently the car worked OK for them because they said that they had not done anything to fix the car and thought there was no problem according to what they logged into the Subaru database. The next dealer did correctly diagnose the problem and fixed it. However, why didn't McCrea tell me that they had not done anything- why tell me they fixed it? And why didn't they take the logical steps which should be taken when someone has this type of problem? read more

When we settled in on the right vehicle, the entire sales and finance teams were clear and precise in their communications, respectful, not pushy, and in the end put together a deal that truly met our needs for the vehicle and our constraints with the budget. I went to this service department to get my transmission of my 2015 Subaru outback looked at because it was sounding strange and not shifting correctly. The man I went to said I need a transmission flush which I learned later should never even needed to happen with the Subaru. He gave it back to me and said it was all good. I drove it for a week and it still sounded strange strange. I called called them back and they said I could bring it in but they reassured me they did everything correctly. Luckily my fiancé told me to bring it down to another Subaru dealership service department. We drove all the way to Los Angeles to the Santa Monica Subaru for service. First off Chris at SubaruWas an amazing human being. He took a look at my transmission and discovered that they put oil instead of transmission fluid in my brand new car. Subaru was awesome and the rebuild my transmission. The only complaint I had was I was out two weeks of work from the whole problem. Santa Monica Subaru service was flawless. I can't say better for Eureka. This caused me to be out-of-pocket around $3000 with Hotel stays and workday. Thank god I listen to my fiancé because If I didn't take it back my transmission would have broke on the side of the road. A vehicle two years old! read more

We were so impressed. We had to buy a new car when my husband's 2.5 year old car was totaled in a rear-end crash. We were on our way to pick up a Honda when we learned that the salesperson hadn't reserved the car as we requested, so we decided to look at Subarus. We asked if they participated in the Costco program, and they did. Our salesperson Alan listened to what we wanted and showed us two models that fit the bill. Hubby took them both out for road tests and settled on the Outback. (I stayed behind because I use a power wheelchair. The staff offered me coffee, water, etc., and had toys and water for my dog as well.) He still wanted to think about the price, which was higher than the Honda. But Alan knew we'd be back. He had the car washed and filled the gas tank. The next day he spent a great deal of time showing hubby how all the special features worked, and asking if we had any other questions. He gave us his card with his personal numbers, assuring us we could call at any time if we needed help or information. The financing was very easy, and the 0.0% rate was great. This has been about the easiest car purchase ever. read more

I usually avoid dealership sales if I can. I am so glad I overcame my fear and walked onto the McCrea Subaru lot. We were approached by Lee and instead of the usual sales pitch, he was really friendly, answering our questions with a real depth of knowledge about his cars. No high pressure at all. He let us decide and helped us when we had questions. He owns one too so he gave us his personal perspective. We didn't buy right away but he kept in touch with us and never pressured us to buy. He did a great deal for us with a Costco discount so we didn't have to go through the back and forth negotiations. We ended up being friends. We even upgraded from the Crosstrek to the Forester it was such a fair deal. Our idea and Lee made it work for us. We love the car and we love the guys at McCrea. Dave and John were very friendly and gave us their full attention at each step of the process without ever putting any pressure on us. I should mention too, James and the guys at the McCrea service center on 7th. We have been taking our older forester there for years. They are very friendly and honest. Never a problem with service and prices are fair. They do it right the first time. I highly recommend seeing Lee or any of the great people at McCrea, if you are in the market for a Subaru. read more
