We have a 2012 Mini Cooper S Clubman, so we frequent this establishment. :) Anyway, each time, they were professional, and diagnosed all issues quickly and correctly. Accuracy is important because it saves the customer money. We had recall items they were honest informing us about. They told us straight up, we could replace them, but if you took the Mini to the dealership, the part would be covered once they confirm the issue. They could have done the work and made money on us, but they told us the truth and took care of our needs. This is our place for technician work from here on out. If you want good service from honest people, you should take your vehicle here. 5* is all I could give but they do better work than that. They are awesome. Check engine light came on and tire pressure was wrong, they were able to quickly diagnose the problem and fix the tire pressure in a car they weren't familiar with. Cannot say enough good things about everyone at this shop. I was told by another repair shop my car needed to go to Santa Rosa to the dealership for a new computer and the check engine light was on. I was concerned about driving 4 hours with the warning light and James told me to drop by and they would check it out right away. Turned out rats had chewed a wire to a sensor and James was able to fix it while I waited. Was also able to get an appointment for a full diagnostic test. These people know their stuff. They called me suggesting work. I refused. She originally took the car to Firestone where they wanted to charge her almost 50% over the cost of the parts, and didn't even properly diagnose the problem! I purchased an older Porsche in Eureka, Ca and my original plan was to have it shipped down closer to where I live to have one of the better Porsche shops in the Sacramento area freshen it up. Well, right in the middle of the wettest winter that California has seen in years... I come to find that getting a reliable shipping company is next to impossible. Plan B, have the car go into where it's been serviced for 20+ years and have John and his crew freshen it up and get it road worthy. I was expecting the worst and budgeted for it. I Asked John to replace some parts that I thought might need to be attended to... A replacement job that would cost a couple of thousand dollars right off the top. John called me back and informed me that the parts that I was worried about were fine. What kind of mechanic who knows they have a client that WANTS to replace some items, tells them they don't need to be replaced? An HONEST mechanic, that's who. There were other issues with the car. Some needed replacement right away and some could wait. Realizing that my new car was in competent hands, I figured I was ahead in the game and had Hubbard's repair everything. NEVER AGAIN. one occasion was told my Volvo engine was damaged beyond repair / non-op. and then was "reassured" they would take it off my handS if I just signed over the pink slip. A few months later, I got a notice from Visalia Police department stating my Volvo had been abandoned in Visalia. Contacted Hubbards and they acted "confused". They LIED to me and never "took care of the pink slip at DMV" They SOLD or GAVE AWAY my "non-operable" STILL OPERATING car to their buddy whom was able to DRIVE it all the way down to Visalia and ABANDON it, with my name still on the pink slip. I was not in a good mood...period. My brand new Mini's check engine light came on, and I am four hours from the nearest Mini Cooper dealership. So I thought, well, let's see if anyone here in Eureka works on German cars, and Hubbards pops up on my iPhone. So I called and spoke with John who said just bring it in and we'll look at it. Long story short, less than TEN minutes after I parked it in front of the bay I was out. Mini's are a little glitches...what can I say. I highly recommend Hubbard's. A friend is borrowing my 2006 Jetta and they have been so kind and fair to him. I know a little about cars and it is abundantly clear that they are being honest and efficient. For example, today they fixed the door wiring harness (common jetta problem) for around $95 rather than the $400 it would have cost to replace it. I've been here for parts, and advice for a long time. Working with them on that level is hit on miss. I got to a point in my repairs that needed a lift and a technician that was familiar with the mechanicals involved in the 5 and a half hour process ($hop time). I asked for a few things to be checked out, and John responded with "we offer a full inspection for $100". I knew that I needed a new transmission when I dropped it off , told that to john and requested a overall inspection. waited 4 business days and had to call them . I was told that I needed a new transmission and charged $25. as someone that knows some thing about the subject, I was more than dissatisfied with the lack of services rendered. and for the record I never needed a new transmission, just basic maintenance for a 27 year old automatic transmission. updating the o rings read more

What a great experience! Driving north in a Mercedes Sprinter van, near quitting time on a Friday, and a light comes on threatening imminent doom. We call Hubbard's from the road (only German-car shop within a lot of miles) and although they don't deal with that model van often they said to come on in and they'd see what they could do. Friendly reception, a little research, and the necessary fluid poured into the car, quenching the ominous light.
