Wonderful German auto repair shop. Terrific service and fairly priced. A customer would go a long way to do better.

I had the best auto service experience ever in the 35 years I have needed an auto mechanic.

When I stopped in at Wayne's he was extremely busy too, but he was friendly and took the time to make sure I had all my questions answered. He even answered a couple of my calls after-hours when I came up with more questions. It was painfully obvious that I know very little about cars, but Wayne was very helpful and answered everything without any hint of condescension. Whereas most mechanics I've been to tend to say, "Well, that part does [insert unintelligible mechanic-language here]." Since I have no idea how much most parts tend to cost, I went to Google to compare his estimate with prices I could find. Turns out, he's actually quite reasonable! Another thumbs up for Wayne. I went back in a couple of days later to see how things were going on my vehicle. (There were multiple jobs ahead of mine, and due to safety concerns with the car, I just left it at Wayne's.) Wayne and I started talking, turns out he's a really cool, honest guy. There were several things I wanted to have done where he would say, "I could do that for you, but I don't really do a lot of that here. [Insert Name] down the street could do that for less and probably do a better job." What? I don't think I've ever heard a mechanic say that. Last I checked, most people would go ahead and do the requested task without saying "So-and-so down the street would do that for less." Fantastic service!

Staff was fun to chat with and helpful. Very knowledgeable mechanics. I will be back. I understand why their ratings are what they are. Glad to have found a personal mechanic. The state insists that you take it to an approved repair shop and have it pass brake and lights , etc. They told me it would be $350. My windshield needed repair and they failed my car because of it. (FYI, that could have informed immediately it couldn't pass unless the windshield was replaced) After returning to pick up my car. And getting the failed paperwork . They said that they could have my windshield repaired so it would pass. ( They charged me $400 plus tax) I made the appointment to have them fix the windshield. Again I brought my car in and waited. Once the windshield repair guy arrived he immediately declined to fix my windshield because it was too complicated. They then told me they would find another windshield repairman to my car. I waited two days no call. I then went to pacific in Arcata. Had my windshield repaired. Returned to Johnson's and they said it would be another $400. Because they would have to recheck everything. Of course I wasn't going to pay them another $400. I drove a block to Broadway and stopped at Broadway Automotive. They would only charge $250. I just believe in good customer service. I would never suggest anyone ever going to Johnson's auto for anything.

They clipped the piece of molding back on for me, and didn't charge me. Since I had been here before, I also asked them to do another oil change. When I picked up the car from the oil change, there was a problem. The oil pressure light, and the check engine light were on. The oil level was good, so I took the car home, and then the following morning, I took the car into a separate shop for a second opinion on what was wrong When they ran the check engine light, it said that the oil pressure sensor was stuck. Apparently what had happened, was during the oil change, a prong from the oil filter had broken loose,, and it was blocking the oil pressure sensor. I went back to Firestone and spoke to the manager. I'm sorry I didn't write down his name He called over to the second shop where my car was, and the mechanic at the second shop explained in detail what had happened. Based on the situation and the explanation, the manager. At Firestone agreed to cover the cost of Getting my car fixed. The sensor situation was fixed with no out-of-pocket cost to myself. As I mentioned, I had been here for oil changes, quite a few times before, and nothing had ever happened. I get it, unfortunately, sometimes things happen. It's not that something happened, it's how the shop handled the situation. They absolutely took care of it to my satisfaction, I got my car fixed, and I would still bring it in for an oil change again. Thank you for taking care of me.

The price they quoted for the parts was approximately 100% more than the actual retail cost. The error code indicated that one of the converters had failed. They decided to change, and charge, for both. In addition the price they quoted for replacing a cabin air filter was $74 for the filter, and $24 for labour. The filter actually costs $11. I called and they told me the cost of the parts are what they are charged by Auto Zone. Of course when I checked on Auto Zone this turned out to be incorrect. My perception is that they tried to take advantage of somebody who has very little experience in dealing with car issues. A really terrible experience.
