I took my Audi to them for a diagnostic which took them over a week to get it done and another 2 weeks to give me a copy. However, in the meantime, they were replacing the turbo. I was told they did another diagnostic and everything was good. Yet when I picked it up, my blinker was out, oil plug was not put in correctly, so I lost all my oil, and my fuel pump went out due to contaminated oil. Sounds like a clear diagnostic report to me. I just paid over $800.00 to have the fuel pump replaced. Don't take your vehicle to them. Will not return calls, emails and always has an excuse why your car/truck isn't ready. read more

I had just recently bought a 2005 Tundra, and after getting a few fluids changed at Oilstop, I took the truck to Petr for a full inspection. To my horror, they had not changed some of the fluids they charged me for. Petr walked me through everything he looked through on my truck, and showed me comparisons of new, recommended fluids, with what still remained inside of mine. He was kind, clear, and reasonable with his information and time. After changing some of the critical fluids, I drove away from his shop feeling confident in my trucks abilities, and with some new knowhow. He berated me like a father for not taking better care of my car, and clearly laid out my Subaru's problems and what could be done to fix them now and in the future. Petr replaced my rear brakes and rotors on my 2002 Subaru Outback for an honest price. He was respectful and didnt try to push me into doing work I didn't need. He was very knowledgeable about the vehicle and explained everything he was doing. He also topped off some of my fluids that were low. Overall it was a great experience. I came back a few months later to replace my front brakes and it was the same awesome experience. It's good to know that he is consistent. I bought my Honda Element used a few years ago and started to feel like I should have someone take a look to see if anything was going on. We bought an older model, high mileage Toyota RAV4 for our son who is a new driver. The best mechanic I have worked with in Humboldt County. I usually like to work on our cars myself, but there are some jobs that I just don't have the time or patience for. I feel very lucky to have met Petr. I left him a message describing the issue and he got back to me with an accurate quote within a few hours. I had previously received another quote from a local shop that I thought was excessive, so when Petr got back to me with a much fairer price that was $300 less than the other shop, I knew he was trustworthy. When I dropped the car off, I described the issue in more detail and let him know which parts I thought were failing based on my past experiences with the vehicle. In my experience, some mechanics are a bit dismissive or condescending when you do this, but Petr listened to me patiently and confirmed my initial diagnosis. I even got a quick tour of his garage (which was super clean) and we chatted about cars for a bit. I picked up our car later that day and it had been repaired perfectly. Petr showed me the part he changed (wheel bearing) and, sure enough, the old part was starting to fail - I even got to keep it as a paperweight. A few other reviewers mentioned this but Petr runs a great YouTube channel called "Toyota Maintenance" that is definitely worth checking out for Toyota owners. He actually filmed the repair process for our vehicle (not a Toyota) and shared it on another one of his car repair channels - very cool! Petr worked on one of our older cars, but when the warranty on my newer Toyota truck expires he will be my very first choice if I need a mechanic. I have a 2013 Tacoma and I was developing a bit of trip anxiety about taking it on longer jaunts, given that I have not always been on top of its maintenance and didn't know what issues might be looming under the hood or behind the wheels. I knew it needed a few items. Petr did a deep dive into its condition and identified a list a maintenance and repair items to tackle - some sooner than later and even identified some past work that could've been done better. I appreciate being able to have a dialogue with the mechanic about the various issues, their priority and recommendations. His costs were more than fair. I'm now driving with a bit more surety and Petr was able to tackle some of the "now" items and schedule time for the "soon" items. Highly recommended, but know that he was booked out in advance on the order of a couple weeks, so be prepared to schedule ahead, though it was worth the wait in my opinion. As a woman, it's hard to get honest repair service but with Petr he is very honest and upfront. I feel comfortable and at ease in his shop. I've taken my Subaru in three times now for different work and my expectations have been exceeded every time. I recently had them replace my timing belt, big job.
