I have to say I could never have had a more delightful opportunity in meeting a more rude, unkind, & disgraceful woman at a front desk. I get it was a Monday morning but maybe that's a sign this isn't the job for her especially if it's working with other people. I see all these other very nice reviews on here so maybe some tragic event happened? Is she being forced to be there? Maybe I on my end simply forgot to say good morning.. I don't know what it was but seems to be something that needs to be checked out on behalf of herself & all those around her. It made me feel really sorry. Auto masters is RACIST. Do NOT support this business. First of all I called to make an appointment & they hung up on me. I should've gone to another place from that point but I called back & made an appointment with the rude woman that works behind the desk. She was sooooo rude . Then I arrived a bit early & one guy assumed I was his coworker Manny's daughter because I'm brown. They assume all brown people look the same & don't have the decency of recognizing their employees daughter & on top of it all they just stared at me like I was animal. Automasters is great! I am from Los Angeles and usually avoid getting work done on my vehicle anywhere else. I needed my car looked at urgently and they got me in and out without hesitation. Price was fair! Joe was awesome personable and friendly. To the comments about them being racists as a latina myself, i did not receive that energy or treatment. I had been having issues with my car and was really frustrated because my car was always in and out of another shop. I went in and had an estimate done. The gentleman that helped me was really understanding and explained what the issue was. He even told me what to tell the other shop to see if I had warranty on the part that needed to be replaced. They were able to get my car in quick and had it done just as quickly. I would highly recommend this place! read more

I was a Travel Nurse in Eureka CA staying at the Red Lion for almost a year and was fortunate to find a decent, knowledgeable, honest mechanic/owner Joe at Automasters right behind the hotel. Synthetic Oil change at very decent price bringing in my preferred oil. He even took the time to ride in the vehicle with me to diagnose a torn boot on the front drive shaft that he fixed up along with some other repairs to insure my trip all the way back to the east coast on the beach went safely which it did. Easy to work with and friendly. All of these qualities are getting harder and harder to find these days. So as Veteran and an RN I would highly recommend his shop. Thank you. read more

I have been coming here for about four years, and I really trust these guys. They tell me when a repair can wait, so I believe them when they say a repair also needs to be done. I found out about automasters through my employer, who sends their vehicles here for servicing. My wife went to visit our daughter at college in Northern California. She noticed our daughters car was in need of a service and called me to find a place. I got on Yelp . I found Auto Masters and spoke to Joe and explained what her car needed ( oil change, tire rotation, headlamp bulb replacement) He said no problem , have your wife bring the car in. Joe could have not been any nicer too my wife. He serviced the car and also told my wife that any time my daughter had any issues with her car to contact him and he would diagnose and speak to me. Took my car here, based on the reviews it got. They overcharged me EXTREMELY for the service they gave me, which wasn't even done properly. I asked them to look at several things, that were never actually checked when I picked up my car. Then they also charged me over 70 dollars to look at my broken sunroof, that would've taken 10 minutes to either manually fix, or at least come up with a reason as to why it is broken. 70 dollars to look at this, do nothing about it and tell me that they don't know what's wrong with it. I sat down with another Mechanic a few days later, only to spend about 10 minutes with me, to resolve the issue at hand. He didn't even charge me either. Absolute rip-off, I will never go back there and I will make sure to tell anyone I know the same thing. read more

They'd already ordered the part, did a full vehicle inspection, only fixed what needed to be fixed, and gave us their honest opinion about other possible future problems. We just brought our vehicle to Auto Masters and the mechanic knew what the problem was even before he tested it. After confirming with the code machine, he fixed the problem in under 3 hours and around $200 unlike EUREKA BRAKE & AUTO where we spend $200 and the problem was never fixed and they tried to push other crap on us (read my review of them on their page). I will go back to Auto Masters next time we have an automotive problem and recommend this place to all my friends. Thanks guys! read more

A friend asked for a ride after dropping his car off. We would not have thought to go there. He recommended Joe so highly we "tried them out" for routine work on our two vehicles. He charged what he quoted which was considerably less (half or more) of what we had been paying for several years for the exact like-kind service. The one time the service was more than quoted, he called, explained the problem, alerted us of the new quote and gave us the option of continuing or not BEFORE the work was done, rather than the huge sticker shock at the time of pick up.. He lets us know ahead of time when it is expected to be completed and notifies us if there are issues that would delay it. We trust his integrity and quality of work. We have every intention of sticking with them. read more

I've only taken my car to auto masters once, but this will be my new place. I had a check engine light on and also knew I needed the back struts looked at. They recommended no work on the car at this point, and gave me a very good quote on he struts with a recommendation I wait at least another 30,000 miles before getting them done. I walked out with just an oil change and a tire rotation, while most places would be eager to do work and take more money. read more

We were in a tough situation and these guys went above and beyond to help us out! Our car had been stolen from Sacramento and wound up in Eureka. After the 5.5 hour drive up and working with the cops as well as the detail shop that had agreed to clean the interior, it was about 3:30. We were hoping to get home that night but noticed a metal-on-metal scraping sound when we drove the car - not exactly what you want before beginning a long drive! We told Joe the situation and he was able to fit us in on extremely short notice. He and his mechanic gave the car a thorough inspection, quickly diagnosed the problem (a dented exhaust pipe that was rubbing up against the bottom of the car), did what they could to mitigate the issue for our drive, then gave us their honest opinion about the safety of the car and some tips for economically fixing the issues once we got home. They also checked and topped off all the fluids. For all this short-notice work, Joe quoted us a ridiculously low price - a kindness that was truly appreciated in light of the tough week we'd had. Overall, I highly recommend these guys - they are knowledgeable, honest, efficient, and willing to go the extra mile for their customers! read more

These people are totally dishonest, and a total rip off. took my car car here for car sensor issues which they charged me out the ass for only to discover a week later that my car has the same issue. ask them to fix brake light as well. lone behold the son of a bitch went out on me again a month later on a road trip to chicago. now i'm out $900 and these guys are just chalking it up reaping the rewards. tried to contact them, they could not be bothered. don't do it, go some where else I'm telling ya! read more
