Brandon and Brennan were very professional, friendly, patient, and understanding of my camper van situation. I am driving across country from California to New York and heard a rattling sound in my van . They didn't hesitate to have me come in 10 minutes after I made a phone call they were very professional, friendly, patient, and understanding. They were even kind to my dogs! They did a free diagnostic check. i'm not from this area, but certainly if I come back through I would come to them for Services. they topped off my washer fluid and filled up my tires as a complementary service. read more

My car broke down on a business trip up to Eureka from the Bay Area. I was recommended Eureka Brake & Automotive, and it was one of the best recommendations for a mechanic I could've ever asked for! Shane and Marcus were so helpful. I was on a serious time crunch with this happening on a Friday and I needed to drive home that Saturday. They were able to take a look at my car and diagnose the issue. They were super professional and were able to break everything down into layman's terms for someone who doesn't know much about cars. They even helped connect me to a rental car center for me to get home safely to the Bay Area. I could not recommend Eureka Brake & Automotive more!! read more

I went to Eureka Break a few months ago because I knew I needed front breaks. I dropped off my car and they called me the next day with a quote, it was over $1k. On a 20 year old Toyota? Um no. So I told them to just do the front breaks, which was about $500. In the inspection they broke something and had to replace it. Fine whatever. They charge for a inspection, which seems like a trap to keep you doing the work there. I should I have gone somewhere else. Over 24 hours to do this job seemed like a lot, but I was happy it was done. They advised me to do the back ones soon. The next month I moved out of the area and soon after that my back breaks started to make noise. I took my car to Les Swab. They did an inspection and I DID NOT NEED ANY more BREAK WORK at the time. I had 2-3 months still left on my back breaks. The noise was from Eureka Break putting them back on incorrectly!! So 2 things are possible: 1) They did this on purpose to get more money out of me. 2) They made an error in putting my car back together. EITHER WAY I DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING TO EUREKA BREAK EVER. read more

Eureka Brake and Automotive always provides me with the best diagnosis, care, and service. Thank you!

Eureka Brake and Auto took good care of my work vehicle (Toyota Tacoma) for years. Most recently I brought my 2015 Honda fit in and had a comprehensive ultimate oil change and safety check. I drive for work between 30 and 40 K per year. They recommended I flush the brake line, rotating the tires was included; I feel well taken care of. They're very friendly and super capable. Highly recommended. read more

We were visiting and towing a trailer when we lost our brakes. Eureka Brake made our repairs within hours, offered to drive us to a local eatery while we waited and treated us very well. Price was what you expect, not horrible. I would definitely return to their business. Great experience! read more

Eureka Brake and Automotive is a genuinely wonderful establishment that sets the standard for personalized, old-fashioned service. George and Brina took outstanding care of me, demonstrating a commitment that goes beyond the typical repair shop. Their work is highly trustworthy, and their strong, transparent communication ensures you always know what's happening. The practical amenities--including flexible financing options and the convenience of a courtesy car for pick-up and drop-off--make the entire process seamless. This is the highest level of reliable auto care you can find. read more

I got the $77 synthetic oil change with 22 point inspection. This was the best price I've found locally, and they didn't cut corners. Quality work and great recommendations with prices for needed work without being pressured. Highly recommend. read more

Absolutely outstanding service, and professionalism in a timely manner. Our Revel 44E was towed to EB&A with a burned out alternator and unable to start. Within two days (!), we were back on the road with all appropriate claims filed by the amazing staff at EB&A. I would definitely recommend this service center to anyone looking for an authentic, efficient and service oriented automotive experience. read more

This wonderful family is doing their best to keep our community safe and on the road. Their professionalism, integrity and breadth of mechanical knowledge is top notch. As I sat in the waiting area, which was comfy, clean and had snacks, I witnessed the care the team poured into every customer and their vehicles. My van, Tina, is so lucky to have a future because they got her purring again! read more

The quality of service was poor. My brakes on my f250 truck were so tight it locked up over anything over a light step. The cost was overpriced compared to other shops in town. The secretary tired to get a mechanic to man explain why I needed extra unnecessary work which I promptly refused and got another certified shop to the same work for less than half the cost. read more

Do not take your vehicle here for alignments! I took my Subaru wrx Sti to eureka brake and they ended up damaging all 4 wheels. read more

We were recommended by a local to come to Eureka Brake and Automotive. They were very flexible about scheduling an appointment. It was easy to find this business and easy to park. A quick peek showed us a beautifully organized shop floor. We went into the lobby and found a lovely, welcoming atmosphere. The staff are very knowledgeable, friendly, courteous, and kind. Our car received prompt service. The waiting area is very organized, clean and comfortable. (The restrooms are clean, too.) We arrived with a strange noise coming from under the hood. The mechanic diagnosed and fixed the problem promptly and efficiently. At the end of our visit, the head mechanic came out to us and explained what they'd fixed, and gave follow-up suggestions. He is very smart. He gave us the standard printout showing details, for our files. As we left, the front office staff even recommended we check out the farmer's market. We are visiting from out of town, and we give this shop an A+ for service, quality, value, reliability, and all the good things! read more

Skip this place. With how much they charge for brakes ($890 for Rear including new brake Rotors) I'd recommend just going to Firestone where I was charged ($470 for Rear including new brake Rotors). I wanted to support a local business but with them charging you double the amount, I'm ok giving my money to the big guys. read more

I had some unusual wear ruin my front tires so before getting an alignment, I bought two new ones , had them put on and scheduled an appointment at Eureka Brake and Automotive. The young man I spoke to worked with me to set up an appointment first thing in the morning so they could get started on the truck right away and I could wait there for it. He was very polite and helpful and took special care to carefully explain to me that they would have to check out the steering system to make sure there wasn't anything mechanically wrong that was causing the wear. When I brought the truck in I was greeted by a very friendly front office woman who had just brewed a fresh pot of coffee. As I sat in the comfortable waiting area, another young man went out of his way to explain the procedure again and warning me that there could actually be a bigger problem than an alignment could fix. Shortly thereafter (you can probably see where this is going) I was informed that indeed, there was quite a bit of work upfront that needed to be done. They offered me a ride home and said they would try to finish the car today if it all possible. I live at the far end in Freshwater Valley And they offered to pick me up if they got it finished that very day. They went out of their way and made every effort and were able to finish it that day. I picked it up a little after 4 PM and could not be happier with the whole experience. This is an honest, hard-working, locally owned shop, and I highly recommend them. read more

These folks were so great! Came in for an all point check and oil change. They found an issue that was unsafe and fixed the same day at a very reasonable price. The team was pleasant and explained everything to me. Ladies, I know you always feel like you're getting taken advantage of when you take your car in to a mechanic... take your car to these folks they are are honest and professional! read more

this shop has amazing auto repair service. they help me keep road-worthy. great technicians and helpful staff all around. the best!

I had an urgent issue with my 2009 Toyota FJ and the staff went above and beyond. I contacted at least 4 other garages in town and not one of them could get me in to run a diagnostic for several days and some it was going to be weeks! Eureka brake & automotive were able to get me in the same day! They were booked for the day, but I was willing to wait as they were trying to squeeze me in between jobs. I was not expecting to have my vehicle fixed I just wanted to know what was wrong but they had me up and running within a couple hours! Staff was professional and customer service was awesome. The staff explained the problem, were upfront on cost, and kept me informed on their plan and the outcome. Very professional. I plan to take my vehicle in again for general maintenance. read more

We scheduled our 2011 Honda CRV for a lube and oil "Ultimate Service Special." For the life of the car we've gone to the dealer. Derrick, Bryna and team are better. Last time at dealer they said new brakes were needed soon, which turns out to be false as we have over 50% front and 70% rear still good. With this service they were fast, friendly and honest. We'll be back. read more

These people are pretty special. We've had new & used Volvo's for over 20 yrs. All work has been done by this team. Gave last car, a 2015 Volvo, to my daughter who lives in Crescent City, A/C fan stopped responding to switch. No mechanic or dealership could help. They all said: "you gotta take it to a Volvo dealer." She brought the car back to Eureka. I took it in this morning. Got a call an hour ago; problem diagnosed (a faulty resistor). Should be repaired when new part arrives in a few days. Last month, another problem, (faulty injector), also diagnosed & repaired by this team. Great service & technicians. read more

I brought my 2018 Fiat 500 in for oil change & 10k maintenance. I was so pleased with the service I got. All staff are professional, very courteous, honest & qualified. I wish I'd found them sooner. Highly recommend them for all your car maintenance & repairs. read more

We were passing through from out of town and had car issues. I called and they were booked but said they would try to diagnose the issue that day & HOPE to get done by end of day if not next (we were leaving town the next day). Great service and communication. Not sure why yelp requires 85 characters of text in reviews... blah blah blah

On one hand, EBA has A LOT of my money and I don't have a consistently functioning car to show for it. On the other hand, the service is super friendly and patient. I truly think they know what they're doing. Maybe there is some expertise or oversight lacking that would help technicians find and address the broader "root causes" of my car ailments. Or it's entirely possible that Subarus 2.5xts are loaves of dung and the guy from Canada that sold me my Honda Element scammed the crap out of me because it ran like a dead walrus from day one. There are too many variables at play to make a determination. But friendly service and a communicative staff are so beyond the mediocre Humboldt standard I fully support this business. read more

I made an appointment to have my antifreeze and my inverter fluid flushed out and replaced. I was quoted $125 and said, "great, I also received a $25 off any coolant change coupon in the mail". When I arrived for my appointment I was told it is $122 for my inverter fluid and they would not take my coupon. I told the employee I had scheduled for inverter fluid and an antifreeze flush and replacement. Then I was told it's $350 to have the inverter fluid and antifreeze coolant replaced. I wish I was told the correct price of ($350) before I planned my day around you servicing my car. The price is too high, and I will go somewhere else. You all have wasted my time! read more

Eureka Brake & Auto was recommended to me by a trusted family member. I have an older car that is very finicky and I've had a hard time finding some one I trust to work on it until now. I was instantly impressed with the cleanliness and organization of the shop. I was greeted by Cliff who has outstanding customer service and was extremely patient as I explained all my concerns (I often feel like I'm that pain in the ass customer, but not here). Not only did they do an inspection but they told me clearly what repairs I should anticipate, what safety concerns there were, and what steps needed to be done to make it road worthy right now. Their prices are right on par for the quality of work you get. Once we agreed on the work to be done my car was in and out of there in no time. They even vacuumed it for me!! I'm extremely satisfied with my service and will definitely be recommending them to family and friends. read more

I am so pleased with the work they did on my 20 year old van - top notch from start to finish!

We got a flat and called Eureka Brake and Automotive to see if we could get in and get it fixed. They were all booked up but said they should be able to do it in between jobs. They patched it, mounted it, and had us back on the road in a couple of hours. Customer service was awesome and I really appreciate the effort they made to get us taken care of. read more

We cannot say enough great words about this establishment. Their kindness, honesty and integrity go above and beyond in all aspects of their service. We were traveling through the area on a road trip from So. Cal. We had reason to believe that our vehicle needed some brake service and wanted it checked out before traveling another 600 miles. We called many many brake service shops on the morning of June 28th, 2021, and every shop said they were booked out for two weeks or more. Including Eureka Brake & Automotive. We decided we would have to wait until our next stop 150 miles away. We then got a call from Eureka Brake & Automotive saying they adjusted their schedule to fit us in to take a look. They knew we were far from home and just passing through and felt they should check our car for safety. They knew we would not be a return customer, so that was not their reason for helping us. They just knew it was the right thing to do - to help someone in need. While they were repairing our vehicle (which was WAY worse off than we imagined - disaster was eminent) they gave us a ride to a local coffee shop to wait out the repair, as we had no other vehicle. They picked us up later and even stayed beyond their regular working hours to ensure we had our vehicle returned to us that same day. Trustworthy, kind, fair and thorough are just a few adjectives that come to mind. I wish we had a shop like this near us in our hometown. read more

My son and I got stranded hundreds of miles from home. We got towed 100 miles and were planning to take the car to the local dealership, but it turned out they were booked up for a week solid. The clerk at our hotel mentioned that Eureka Brake was just around the corner. I explained our situation to them and they were very nice, excellent communication, and had my car back on the road the same day I brought it in. Definitely pleased with the service. read more

I'm new to the area on orders, so was very skeptical taking my car to any mechanic in a area I'm not familiar with. I was not disappointed. My jeep wrangler was having overheating problems. They were able to diagnose the problems which I was aware of from a previous mechanic. That was the first good sign that they were telling me the truth. The customer service was on point both when I dropped it off and picked it up. The labor and parts were very fair. If your military or have AAA they provided a discount which saved me about $100. Jeep running smooth. I will be back. read more

Someone gave me an oil change card for Eureka Brake & Automotive. While I was waiting in the fancy waiting lounge, the attendant came me know how dirty many of my fluids were and wanted to help. He gave me an estimate of $441.83 for auto transmission fluid, power steering fluid and brake fluid. I called my regular shop and they quoted me a number that was roughly HALF. My mechanic inspected, changed and charged me for brake and power steering fluids. He said the transmission fluid was perfect and didn't need changing. He saved me $343.83+TX I will not ever be returning. read more

Went here to get an oil change after being referred for some summer deal (said they'd wash my car, they did vacuum it, but no wash). Oil change took about 3.5 hours, I just hung out there because I was NOT walking around Eureka, especially that area. The waiting room was decent, they served crappy waiting room coffee. After the inspections/oil change, a guy came out and said my rear brakes were down to basically nothing. It would cost me ~400 dollars to replace the rear pads or ~800 to do a full work up including replacing some pistons/calipers, I said I'd wait for now. After the necessary grieving period for being quoted that much to fix my car, called another locally trusted place and they quoted me half like another review said. I appreciate their thoroughness, but I am a poor college kid, I can't afford them. read more

Being new to Eureka, I wasn't sure where to take my car for a brake inspection but chose Eureka Brake and Auto because of the reviews and ratings. I'm so glad I did!!! They took my car in at the appointment time, kept me informed with what they were finding and gave me recommendations. I never felt I was being condescended to and I had a clean, safe place to wait. Not only did they do the work, at the amount stated, but were over $100 less than the bigger name in town. I felt good with the amount spent and will absolutely return to them for my auto needs!!! Thanks so much!!! read more

AAA suggested this place because they heard it was pretty good and have a gated garage to put your car into during closed hours. I went in in the morning to check up on the car. It was $$$ but the car's working They also offer AAA discounts, but I don't see how it's reflected on my receipt...*scratching head*... read more

Guys will promise you to your face shop local! But refuse to follow through on there end...up sell you, check engine light came on a week after They did the work. Then charge $250 diagnostic fee.
