I was so happy with the price I got on my very hard to find tires. They were cordial, good price, took their time. But the next day I noticed how they thrashed all my rims. So I find that to be disrespectful. Use at your own risk. read more

I called to see if they could install tires on a rim, they said they could. My phone said they close at 5:30pm so I showed up at 4:55pm. The owner said they close in 6 minutes and that I can come back at 8am. I came back at around 8am and he said I could come back in 2 hours and that he already had a load of people ahead of me. I left and came back about 2 hours later at 10:30am. The owner said I would have to wait another 2 hours. I waited 3 hours and went inside to see if I was even waiting for service still a little confused. This worker came up to me and I asked him if I was still waiting. With no response he just points at the door staring at me. I was even more confused and he started talking to me about my car and how I need to wait really really creepy tone barely saying three words at a time. Both the owner and his worker seem a little off, I did nothing but greet them with a smile when I first showed up In my little car. They have been nothing but rude to me and I am blown away. read more

Needed new tires before my road trip and they got me in super quickly no appointment needed and the price was super fair. Highly recommend. :D read more

We have been coming to Joe for as long as I can remember. At least 20 years. If he can repair your tire instead of selling you a new one he certainly will. If you need new tires he has them in stock and he sells for a fair price. It's so nice to trust someone with our work vehicles because without them we can't work! Went by to get some tires put on and unfortunately they were out of air...? Ended up going somewhere else.

These guys are super friendly and did great work! I had a bad flat, and they were able to get it fixed quickly. They also have the sweetest shop dog who made my bad day much better. read more

showed up with a bent rim so i had to swap for my spare tire. David was such a good help. Highly recommended!!!

Took a new set of tires and wheels in to be mounted and balanced. I requested to put the tires to spec PSI 33 front 34 rear. And to torque the lug nuts to spec 95lbs and not just smash them on with the air gun and was told it makes no difference. I stayed quiet knowing it does make a difference. I was also hassled over the PSI request. Again told It makes no difference. so I get the tires put on and I have my 1 year old in the back seat I get on the 101 going to eureka and my car instantly feels unstable and wobbly and unsafe as soon as I got over 30 mph a minute later my TPMS light comes on. I get to eureka and check my tire PSI One tire was almost set to the correct PSI at 40 THE OTHER 3 were all over inflated. One of them was even 85 PSI. I corrected the PSI in my tires and now the car feels fine. I go back to let them know I they messed up big time and I'm Not happy about it and the guy apologized for giving me a hard time and for not doing the job correct and as he was apologizing I smelled alcohol on his breath. I would love to leave a great review about how friendly and good of a job they did but instead they get this honest review. read more

Great prices and great service! I was in and out with two used tires that looked brand new within an hour for less than $200, highly recommend! read more

They fixed a flat for me a couple months ago and i didn't have $10 bucks on me at the time - the owner told me no worry and just give it to me the next time you see me... yesterday i needed two back tires for my wifes vehicle, that were not road safe, i was quoted $300 from a competitor, whew and right at the holidays... there goes my families holiday i thought i stopped by arcata used tire just to compare and was told $40 less on a better set of rubber, though it was still more than i had budget for - the owner went upstairs and found a really good set of used tires the right size for the vehicle to get us through the winter, most likely the year, and they had them on the car in less than an hour and i was out the door for a little over $100 bucks... they saved our families holiday and helped keep us safe on the road this year and have always showed kindness and compassion in all my dealings with them and i highly reccommend to anyone needing new or used tires for their vehicles. 00007 read more

Awesome shop. I bought 4 beautiful NEW tires there today. They were recommended by my tow truck driver. I've lived here for 42 years and never heard of them. Probably because of the "Used Tires" in their name. The staff was honest and polite. The price was incredible. Only place my entire family will be buying tires from now on. read more

The guys here are awesome ! I would rather go here than American tires or les schwab. My tire pressure kept going low after filling with air twice so I figured it had to be a nail or something stuck. I was on my way to my usual popular tire place in Eureka but decided to check around Arcata on yelp. This place looked legit so I drove by to get an estimate. They were quick and cheap. He got the tire off and spotted the nail right away. Patched me up and I was in and out within 10 minutes. Been a few weeks now and my tire hasn't given me problems since. read more

Quick and efficient!!! Will definitely go back for tires when the time comes. I don't remember the name of the gentleman that works there but he was very pleasant and didn't charge an arm and a leg for my four tires. read more

First off, I have no concerns about tire quality or fairness of prices at Arcata Used Tires. I did, however, have a negative employee interaction that colors my feelings about the business. First off, it's important to note that I am a woman and my husband came with me so we could drive back in a car together after dropping off the one I drove in with. I walked in first and told the employee, a young man who appeared to be in his 20s, that I was dropping off my car for new tires, as we had just discussed over the phone. He rattled off some numbers at me to confirm what tires I was getting, and when I didn't have the tire numbers I needed memorized, he began to lecture me about how it was "just like memorizing a phone number." I told him my husband might remember the number and he then he proceeded to walk over to my car and made a remark about "unless your husband is the reader of the pair," you can read the numbers on the wheel. This was a very belittling and direspectful way to treat a customer, not to mention misogynistic. I hope that the Arcata Used Tires sees this review and works on the customer service skills of their employees. Customers should feel valued and respected, not belittled. read more

As a starving college student I WOULD NEVER go here again! AND regret going here. I went on a friends recommendation that they were cheap and fast. Dropped my car off that got a flat due to the arcata pot holes. I asked for a consultation before any major work was to be done --- DID NOT GET THAT! They immediately without asking changed the tire out and charged me 90$! I WOULD NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE AGAIN! They completely by passed consulting me for this huge expense, as a college kid where 90 dollars is about a month of groceries for me. Extremely disappointed and pissed. PLUS they didn't even fix it all the way they said the wheel itself was bent all they did was slap a tire on there ---- almost a 100 dollar band aid these assholes put on my car! So i have to go to a different place to get my wheel fixed -- all they did was put a shit tire on and charged me out the ass for something they likely got for 5 bucks! BOO! i want a refund and a apology --- you did work that was not asked for - i asked for a consultation, and received a 100 dollar band aid read more

I really like this tire shop, I want to give it a 5 however they wouldn't price match the bigger competitors or online. The big plus here he was able to get me tires next day, the biggest tire business couldn't get for 3 days. like I said I really want to give him a 5 but the price kind of holds me to a 4. Change my mind, Quick, good service and a fair price. read more

Joe is fantastic, super helpful and the turn around was very fast! Thank you!! Upfront and good prices

I'm only giving four stars because I haven't gone in just yet. I have a feeling it will be a big fat FIVE as soon as I get there. I've been calling around all morning looking for a replacement tire for my Ford Focus. My current tire has wires sticking out everywhere and is so bad my husband won't even let me drive to the grocery store. I had just gotten off the phone with Eureka Tire and was feeling stupid and thoroughly insulted. I ran across this place on Google and gave them a call because of their excellent reviews, and I am glad I did!! They carry my tire and have used ones that fit perfectly into my very tight budget. The guy on the phone was very helpful and friendly, and I'll be heading over to get my new tire as soon as my husband gets out of the shower. UPDATE: It dropped a star. Apparently the size of my tires is the wrong size for my car (I've replaced three different tires at three different locations and they've all given me the same size that is on there) and they don't have my tires used. So instead of paying $20 for a tire and barely being able to afford it, my entire grocery budget just went to paying for two of the "right size" (two sizes bigger) tires on the front. They also apparently charge extra to put the tires on (first place I've ever heard of doing that, other places I've been to give you the price and it includes the tires being mounted) so after borrowing some money from my dad it's still costing my entire food budget, AND apparently it's going to take about two hours! Now I've gotta figure out how to feed my husband and myself until payday. read more

After getting a flat tire on 101 monday night, I knew I had to get new tires as there was no way any shop would repair my tire due to low tread. Was hoping to hold off until I got my xmas bonus :-) checked Les Schwab and Costco ($200 + per tire, and Costco did not have them in stock, 5-8 days). Called Arcata Used Tires and Wheels and spoke with Joe. Told him up front that I was price shopping, and he still was friendly and informative. As I am not a "car guy" or mechanically inclined in any way, I asked him which tires he would put on his own vehicle. He responded with " the first I quoted you ($160). He didnt have them in stock but said he would have them the next day. Dropped of the truck at 9:15 and he had it ready when I got off work a few hours later. No waiting for an hour plus in a waiting room, no upselling, no pressure... Gotta love that! Plus I was able to support a local business.. I would not hesitate to recommend this place! read more

Really really nice guy! Drove up without an appointment and only waited about 10 minutes before he patched up my tire for me. Quality service offered quickly. Nice man that offers a reasonable rate of $15 for a patch up. Highly recommend! read more

I really love taking my car here, no matter the problem, they always make it happen. They're the cheapest around town and I highly recommend their services. The workers here go above and beyond, that might explain why you might not be able to get in on the same day. (I think he's the owner) He gives you options, he'll either tell you come back in an hour or be straight up if he can't get you in that same day. Honest, reasonable and kind read more

So glad I found this place! Not only are they locally owned and operated, the customer service is amazing and the prices are reasonable! I've been here 3 times and I promise I won't be going anywhere else for as long gas I live in Arcata! read more

Joe and his team took care of us with great professionalism, speed and for a very reasonable fee. We'd popped a tire heading out to Petrolia; they fixed us up and swapped our spare back under the truck (which is kind of a production) like it was no big deal. All for $15! No appointment, just got us in and out while juggling the phone and a bunch of other customers. They prefer cash--thought I only had my card on me (came up with the cash before we left), but Joe said, "just pay me when you can". Old school, trust-based business. They'll take care of you. read more

So nive!!! Our tire went flat and the owner helped us take care of it for free. Love this place.

I went to Arcata Used Tire because Les Schwab tire in McKineleyville would not install 4 new tires on my student daughters Toyota Land cruiser after giving me a quote over the phone, before driving 800 miles, thus leaving me hanging. The guys at Arcata tire put the new tires on the vehicle the same day at a very fair price (better than Les schwabs quoted price). Thanks Arcata Tire, you guys are great. read more

Very nice and helpful. My son needed a single tire for his Corolla. $20 + $15 to install a used tire, would last about 4000 miles. Quite the deal. We instead went with 2 new tires, $160 out the door. Very honest, Highly recommend them. read more

Joe and his team are friendly, dependable, and honest. Super service for tires and repairs.

I had these guys patch my tire on the back right side and the left front side as of last Monday. None of which was repaired. All I was charged was a new valve stem! Guess what !The air is still leaking out of my tire still! Stay away from this place as they fuck you over !!!!!!! read more

This is the place to go for any tire work or purchase... friendly, competent and customer service oriented to the hilt.

There are two guys that work here. Joe, the boss and Anthony. So yes, it might take longer than you hope for, but it is better in price, quality, and customer service than any other place. They both are amazing and are very honest. They always try to give you the best deal for your buck and will let you know if another place has screwed you over. Don't go anywhere else, because this place is definitely best...hands down. read more
