I want to say.... If you need your auto, truck, etc.. certified... call this place. They are $150 cheaper than Johnson's automotive just up the street. I'm a victim of Johnson's terrible customer service and they are just plain dishonest. Quality service at Broadway Automotive. read more

Needed a smog check for my daughter's car along with an oil change. Made an appointment & was told it would take 2 hours. Hour & a half later got a text with recommendation of services that I could approve or not approve. Pretty cool. Great job! read more

I've been to Broadway a couple time for smog, and I've found it to be a reasonably priced service. It's also a small-business and locally owned. I found David to be helpful and knowledgable, and I'll be back. read more

Super friendly and easy! I made my smog appointment online, which was easy. I arrive the day of and was greeted by friendly front staff. There were no hidden charges, the price listed on the website is the out-the-door price. I left my keys and walked over to Eureka Natural Foods to grab a bite. I received a text informing me the car was ready. I walked back, got the smog certificate and was on my way! I will definitely come back! read more

Here's my honest experience: The owner is rude butt the woman at the front desk is fantastic--smart, kind, and excellent at customer service. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the owner/mechanic. My car didn't pass the test, and that's fine--I understand things fail. What I needed was some clarity on how the test was administered so I could address the problem. Instead, the owner was rude, short, and acted like I was wasting his time for simply asking questions. It gave off a classic Napoleon complex vibe--small attitude, big chip on the shoulder. Meanwhile, the woman at the front is left trying to keep the place running for someone who clearly doesn't belong in a customer-facing role. I honestly hope she's not tied to him personally and that she's being paid well for putting up with that behavior. And no, I didn't bother with the free re-test within 30 days--I didn't trust it would be handled fairly. Other shops have offered me free re-tests just for mentioning their competitors do the same, and they managed to do it without being rude. read more

Service was fast and efficient and the woman at the front desk was so friendly. And my dog was welcome to wait with me in the waiting room. Highly recommend! read more

They did a fine job. It was quick, easy and professional. They got me in very quickly. And they had a cute shop dog.

Very friendly service all around. Scheduled me for a same day appointment. Did the smog very quickly, no damage to car, everything went smooth. read more

I am not one to try and get walk-in service, but when I was preparing to sell my car, I needed to get it smogged. I was in the area and decided to stop by and see if I could make an appointment. The mechanic was very kind and said he could complete the smog for me right then. I filled out some simple paperwork, paid a very fair price, and waited for only around 20 minutes. I walked out with a printed certification in no-time. The experience was so easy and I was treated respectfully. I reiterate that I advise you to call and make an appointment, I was not being the best customer during my experience here, but I was accepted well nevertheless which I wanted to highlight. If you're looking for a smog test, I recommend that you do it here. read more

Friendly and helpful. How fast they are depends on how busy as you would expect. I've been there twice and they were great both times.

super nice people, super easy! highly recommend. went for a smog check and i was in and out.

I needed to smog my car and was given an appointment within the hour. David was very friendly and professional I really appreciate the work done, definitely plan on returning for future checkups. read more

I went into Broadway Automotive when I purchased a used car and needed it smogged. I got right in, no appointment and was on my way in about 30 minutes. Because of that experience, when I needed to have some other work done, I went there. I went in and told them what I thought needed to be done, made an appointment for the next week on my day off. Dropped it off at the agreed time and walked down to Verizon to kill an hour. I came back to pick it up and was surprised to get a bill for $100.00 for the estimate, which was for everything I told them needed to be done! Serpentine belt, light bulb in the dash and clock. They had to order the parts and I'd have to come back to have the work done! When I said, the 100.00 would come off the repair bill, right? Nope! Very disappointed! Won't be back. read more

I was driving thru Eureka and my check engine light came on and my car was smelling weird. I saw the sign for Broadway Automotive. I pulled in and there were cars in both bays so I thought I was going to have to wait. The owner (David) came out to check on me and I explained what was going on. He said lets take a look a short wile later he had found and fixed the problem. I was on my way again and the cars running great. Thanks David for everything. This shop has just recently opened they are very friendly and professional I would highly recommend them. read more

Worst customer service, the mechanic with the glasses was very rude and unhelpful and we hot charged more than the place that fixed the problem that they couldn't. Would never recommend them @ read more

I tried out Broadway Automotive today based on the strength of these Yelp reviews, and on the fact that i found they advertised for doing smog inspections. I didn't need smogging, but did think i had an issue with air-fuel mix and O2 sensors. Well, David looked things over and found a couple of things that the last (expensive) auto shop, the day before, had totally missed. He showed me the spent spark plugs and the rodent-chewed air filter. Could be the causes for the truck's hesitation! He was communicative and honest, the prices charged were reasonable, and i left knowing that if these fixes don't totally solve the problem with my old '93 truck, i can come back and he'll track down the next challenge with the same integrity. I also enjoyed the office/waiting room with David's wife and their baby! A very worthy family business. read more

Tried to be as respectable as possibly and the technician ignored my comments 3 times, ignored my thank you twice, ignored me asking if he knew to drive manual. Wouldn't look me in the eyes and when I was unsatisfied that I had to pay 91$ for a failed inspection when 90% of smog stations are pass or no pay, and 60$.... Quite upsetting. Never would I recomend anyone in Humboldt county to come here for a smog, just just got failed right, drove my car a block away and got smogged somewhere else and passed, get that. Complete scam for you to continuall come back and pay for a expensive smog that is failed. Be warned, I'm a smog certified technician, just changed industry's. read more

Very happy with Broadway Automative! They have run diagnostics on my car twice for free because my partner has always been able to fix the car but doesn't always have the proper tools to diagnose the problem. I always expect them to charge since they're not making any money on labor for fixing a problem but they never do. They have also fixed a couple problems with my car that my partner couldn't fix and they're reasonably priced, speedy, and do the job right the first time. I highly recommend David and Broadway Automative! read more

No appointment needed, super fast smog, and very nice people. I'm a happy customer! Also great location right by AAA and Eureka Natural Foods, I got lunch and got my registration sticker right next door. Great experience. read more

My son was up north camping with his friends when the car's brakes started to go out. I called around several places and most said it would take a week to get parts. Broadway said they could do it and had an appt in a couple hours later. As they suggested, my son got there early and the owner had the job done in under 2h at a reasonable price. He even showed the kids the damaged parts and explained what had happened. I had work already scheduled at the dealer a few days later and they said the fixed brakes looked very well done. I live 5h anyway and hope we don't have to use them again, but if I do, I'll be happy to go to broadway. Thanks! read more

I took my car here to get it smogged and they took me in right away with no appointment! Friendly and fast service!

Couldn't give a higher recommendation. It is so unusual to find someone like David in the automotive repair business. Trustworthy repairs! Very savvy with figuring out with what is wrong. Doesn't guess or bs about what needs to be done and then does exactly what is necessary. Doesn't slip in unnecessary upsells or unneeded parts or repairs. So lucky to have him here. I agree with the other review, his family in the office is wonderful. read more

Really nice! Super easy and reasonably priced smog check. No problems getting an appointment or doing a walk it.
