I gifted a friend a game that crashes and affects his pc and they refuse to help and keep trying to send me to xbox support when I got it on pc. The best part is im in the right chat for support and they refuse to help! Mind you, when the game didnt work we looked at reviews and low and behold other people have the same problem. 9/4/2025 - Thus is my first time visiting Microsoft Visitor Center. It is open to the public. The display of Apple's Macintosh with Microsoft Office for Apple OS to Microsoft 365 and Copilot attractting the visions' attention, which proves that Microsoft has achieved a brilliant feat of modern technology. The daily Visitor Center schedule is Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but call to confirm the time because it sometimes will close the center due to other event(s) occuring. We didn't realize we wouldn't be able to tour the visitor center on that one Friday we arrived due to a private event. Spectators or outsiders people watching thinking, "Wow! Lucky!" or fill in the blank. Many of the employees at the front desk, visitor center and store were outgoing, humorous and open to answering questions. Theme focused on Minecraft in a portion of the store. There's a variety of items sold in the store from pickleball sets, hydroflasks, exercise/gym attire, and more. Surprisingly, our son chose and dad purchased a kit and pricey ballpoint pen. The purchase included a huge, recyclable Microsoft bag. They also offer internships to students interested in coding. Inquire within. Don't forget to take pictures outside and indoors with Microsoft logo. We would definitely love to return when visitor center is open to the public. read more

I visited Microsoft as part of my undergraduate application process to Brown University (not accepted) in approximately 2009/2010 (so this review is for the visitor center/process part). I opted for an in-person interview and was assigned a male software engineer here at Microsoft for the person/place of the interview. I got a little lost finding the location/parking and ended up being a few minutes late. However, I appreciated getting to see a little bit of what the company was about on-site. I enjoyed visiting the Microsoft campus including this Visitor Center with the company store inside. Parking was pretty easy, just outside. It's not a huge exhibit but definitely enough to pique interest. They have some cool displays showcasing the history of Microsoft along with fun technology to play with. The Microsoft Visitor Center is actually pretty neat. Being in the home of one of the world's biggest corporations and being able to interact with some of their products is pretty cool. Only presently you can't fully do that at the moment. Before I get to complaints, I'll start by saying the Center is part of the larger "Campus" at Microsoft which is really cool. It is its own ecosystem of sorts with a lot of the needs I suppose visitors and employees would need - Bank of America, T-Mobile, A bar, a handful of restaurants a field to get some exercise and you can even get a haircut. The Center itself offers a Microsoft Store which they've mostly phased out. Here you can get all kinds of Microsoft and Xbox merch, as well as demo some of the games which is really cool. There are plenty of employees around to help you. My main problems are for one it's confusing, particularly parking. I came here for work related business and the lots are full. Now there are garages, but I wasn't exactly sure if I could use it. It would be nice if there was a sign that simply said, "additional parking for visitors and employees in garage" or something to that effect. The other matter is, so much of the actual Visitor center is closed off. The store is open, but the other interactive gallery is just shut with again, no hint of explanation. Not that I saw anyway. I assume it's covid related which is fine, but they could put a sign saying so. If I find myself back here, maybe it will be a better experience. read more

If you like tech or are a geek, you will love this place. I find it interesting. Parking is easily available. There is a miniature size of the Microsoft campus on display and it is huge! You also get to read about the history of Microsoft and the people involved from the beginning. There are some interactive areas where you can try out the games or gadgets. It is pretty much a good place for both children and adults. The opening hours are during office hours of Monday to Friday. But do check the website before going as it may change during the holidays. read more

I absolutely loved my visit here. Now i must admit I love this type of stuff so my opinion may be swayed, but this place of awesome! They have tons of items for purchase, both the regular electronics made by Microsoft and some special merchandise such as clothing. bags, pens, and more. One thing to note during my visit which was in late July of 2022, they were having a supply problem, and many of the shirts they were selling were only available in 3x, which seems kind of crazy. Other than being a store, there are lots of of other areas to see, such as a mini museum of microsoft, an area for kids to play Microsoft's game "Minecraft", and much more. We were in Seattle for a day so we decided to stop by the Microsoft Visitor Center. Our family has such a long history with the beginnings of Microsoft and we thought it would be interesting to see how they documented their long history as one of the pioneers of modern computing. We were there on a mid-day Friday afternoon. Parking was not a problem. Finding the entrance was more challenging than I would have expected. I expected a large sign but it almost seems like the entrance is built into their large swarm of office buildings for their employees. When you enter there is a receptionist desk but we weren't required to sign in. There are separate sections for gaming, Virtual Reality. Overall, I was not that impressed considering how long of a history Microsoft has developed. read more

6/27/19 My husband is a HUGE Microsoft fan. He teaches Microsoft technology and when you joke about people "drinking the Kool-Aid", there are times when I think he bathed in it. :) He had a contract this week to teach at Microsoft and this was the first time our son and I were able to join him on the trip. The Visitor's Center is cool. There is a little history, but I thought it seemed a little too abbreviated. I liked the map of the campus -- it's huge! The tech was really cool. Our six year old found a Minecraft station and I found a tablet and played Solitaire. We dropped a nice chunk of change at the store. I made some guy laugh when we were looking at flash drives and our son declared he wanted one. I said, "You're six! You don't have files!" :) My son was really bummed that he couldn't try the VR (he had to be 13) so I kind of wish they had just a little bit more for younger kids, but overall I'm glad we were able to go. After parking, we walked all over the campus trying to figure out where the Visitor Center was. There's no signage whatsoever. They need to put some signs outside so folks spend half an hour trying to figure where the entrance was. I was underwhelmed at this visitor center. But I am glad it was free. We were touring the campus with a friend who works at Microsoft, and we dropped by the visitor center but didn't find enough to keep us there for more than half an hour. This place is more like a Microsoft Store than a history museum. The only historical displays we saw were an Altair 8800 computer and a life-size cutout of the founding members of Microsoft. The rest of the room (it really is one large room) was taken up by modern Windows Phones, Surface tablets, Xboxes running different games, and some interactive games/apps that didn't perform the intended motion sensing all too well. They have redone their visitor center lately so there is a lot more things to do if you want to come in and see the latest tech Microsoft has to offer. There is ample parking outside and the famous Microsoft sign sits out front of the visitor center. Once you walk inside, there's an interactive center where you can play on Xboxes, try out the new Surface tablets, PCs, and the Holo lens. The store is also available and you can get all the basic Microsoft products as well as clothing and other apparel too. The Microsoft campus isn't as lavish or fancy as the other big tech companies but it's still a fun place to wonder nonetheless. We visited on a Tuesday, the desk people was super friendly, we got a little visitor batch, we signed up a release info with our car, we parked in the garage because the parking right infront of the door was full. The walk wasnt bad at all. The area is small but we were there for 1hr or so, we got to touch and use everything available. Lol it was fun, we played video games too. Lots of interactive tech to use. This place is ok if you're an employee need to buy some basic hardware (mouse, keyboard, etc.) and don't want to wait for newegg or Amazon to deliver. It's weirdly expensive considering all of the security, though. You have to badge in to get into the SUPER SECRET employee area if you want to buy hardware; there, the prices tend to be at least as expensive as you'd get as a non-employee at any random online shop. After you pick out what you want, you have to show your employee ID and then you get warned that you're not supposed to resell the hardware, as if anyone would buy a mouse here for $15 and try to resell it when the same mouse costs $10 on Amazon. I hear the prices used to be good until some employee made millions re-selling discounted hardware. Marking up the "employee discount" to make stuff more expensive than Amazon *and* putting stuff in a cordoned off section *and* scanning your badge to make sure that you didn't sneak something out of the secure area is one way to do it, I guess. I'd be curious to hear why they didn't just implement a two per customer per year policy or something, though, given that they already scan your badge at checkout. There are discounts on the software, but for corporate use, it's more convenient to get it off an internal share, and for personal use, if you're a programmer, you're disproportionately unlikely to use Microsoft products outside of work. Overall, the lamest internal company store I've ever seen, and I've worked at IBM! read more

This place isn't for everyone, I'll give you that. It's not a tourist destination either, even though some people treat it like some (which I think contributes to their dislike of it). Next, due to the nature that this is a publicly accessible venue, people show up occasionally wanting Microsoft support or complaining about Microsoft products. This review takes the above two items into account. This store is located in the heart of the Microsoft Campus near the commons and has plenty of parking in the adjacent underground garage. It is open only when the building itself is open and across from it is the Microsoft museum and demo area. At the time of writing there are places to try HoloLens, Oculus, and Samsung Gear. You can also play around with some products that are not yet released to the general public or things you will never buy, such as a Microsoft Surface Table. The staff is attentive and possess knowledge about the products in the store, not the inner workings of Windows or Azure. There is a small area in the back that is employees only for employee discounts. Come here to enjoy the environment and visit the museum across the way, or the latte shop just down the hallway. For everything else, just visit the local store at the Bellevue Mall. read more

It's a solid little place to pick up software and games for MS employees, but even for that crowd, the online store is way more convenient. For the public, there are a bunch of tchotchkes of no particular distinction. I personally have virtually no need for golf balls with corporate logos on them, but, as my friend Jeffrey has pointed out, obviously, I am not a golfer. What's unique about this place is the newly constructed setting. MS has focused on being more attractive to college hires, after years of making relatively little special effort in this area. With a few office buildings, a museum, company store, and training center all set in a lush green campus-like setting, they have something they can show off to the younguns. The company store used to be stuck in a fairly nondescript building that looked kinda like a warehouse. It's moved over here since the construction of this Commons area. As with a lot of Bellevue places, there are lots of Seattle toponyms scattered through the eating areas next door. Nothing to do with the company store, but a curious behavior endemic throughout the 425 and now carried forward by MS--we already have a Post Alley in downtown Seattle. Do we need one in an MS dining space 20 miles across the lake? Why would we want another one on the east side? Wouldn't the east side rather craft its own identity? I've never understood this, ever since the Crocodile Cafe opened 20 years ago...and then again two years later, when another, unrelated Crocodile opened in the 425. I just don't get that. I don't really get it, but alot of tourists show up at the Redmond campus, and receps gotta have someplace to point em to, so the Visitor's Center and the MS Company Store it is. If you're looking to get the full MS consumer experience go to the Microsoft Store at Bellevue Square. There you can buy an Xbox, computer, whatever, not here. I picked up some Gears of War t-shirts, a nice poster for one who wanted a poster for his room, and some ball-point pens with LED lights on them. Silly? Maybe. But the kids are enjoying their gifts, and they got a kick out of some of the photos I took of the Gears of War display in the lobby. As well, there is a technology display area across from the store that one can explore. Stopped in to the company store to roam around while waiting for some items being prepped for me in IT. Asked for help locating a badge protector, and the first employee I asked walked me over to where they were. A lot of overly priced items just because they have the word Microsoft on them like water bottles, notebooks and pens. Also have decent Minecraft tees, polos and toys for kids. The line was really long and it took 20 minutes to get through it with 5 cashiers. When I finally reached the counter, the cashier apologized for the long line. Not his fault but a nice gesture. Parking was tough, only later to be told they had a special event going on but managed to find Visitor spot nearby and ended up walking to the Visitor Center. Once inside, you have to check in - be sure to know your license plate number and have your ID. They'll print you or a Visitor badge. My son even got a badge with his picture on it saying "Future Microsoft Employee" with a pen and coloring book! He had so much fun just hanging out in the Visitor Center. People were taking pictures of him because he knew how to play most of the XBOX games and they were amazed that he was only 4! Be sure to check out the store, too!
