Not sure what to say. I came for a battery replacement for my 2017 Macbook Pro, and the new battery works well. But when I received my computer back after the new battery install, my spacebar wouldn't work and hasn't worked the same since (you'll probably notice that some of this review Is double-spaced or not spaced where it should be). The owner, Mo, insisted that there was no connection between the battery installation and the fact that the spacebar wouldn't work. To be fair, I have an older Mac with a butterfly keyboard, which aren't the best keyboards. But I never had any problems with the spacebar until I took it in, and no other part of my keyboard has ever malfunctioned. So, I asked to have the spacebar fixed, and Mo had his technician try to fix it. However, when I received the computer back, the spacebar had the same issues, and it wasn't even attached to the keyboard. It literally just came off. When I checked YouTube about inserting a spacebar on a butterfly keyboard, all the posters said you have to be very careful not to break the spacebar when you take it off, and it appeared that the spacebar was broken. But I'm no technician, so I took it back again to see if they could fix it. When I picked it up for the third time, the spacebar was attached to the keyboard, but it still didn't work like it had before I first brought it in. Sometimes it doesn't work at all; sometimes it double-spaces even though I press it once. Honestly, the spacebar isn't really functional unless I have an external keyboard, which sometimes is really inconvenient. I decided not to press the matter because both Mo and Apple confirmed that, to fix the spacebar, you have to replace the entire keyboard, which is incredibly time-consuming and tedious for a butterfly keyboard. I also didn't know how well a new keyboard install would go if the spacebar fix went like it did. Mo also quoted me $130 for the fix, and Apple quoted me like $400, which is too big an investment for a nine-year-old laptop. In the end, I just wish I had a computer with a working battery and spacebar. Like I said, the new battery works well, but if you told me in the beginning that I would basically be trading the functionality of my battery for my spacebar, I probably wouldn't have done it (and my battery was in desperate shape). read more

The Micro-Computer Center has been my go-to place for computer repairs; I've been a repeat satisfied customer. Over the past several years, Mr. Noori and his staff have quickly resuscitated multiple laptops and desktops of mine at a reasonable cost. I particularly appreciate that they're willing to work with me when I am having problems with a machine hosting an older operating system like Windows XP or Windows7. They don't insist I update. They acknowledge that there is no need to upgrade a WinXP machine that does its job just fine with twenty years old software. Took my Macbook in about 3 weeks ago. After spending $35 to get it inspected, I was told they ordered a cable. For the last 3 weeks, I've been calling for updates, but I keep getting told to call back when "Mo" is in. I finally spoke to Mo, and of course he told me to call back in the AM. So I did. I don't give reviews unless I am very happy or very upset. In this case, Micro Computer Center was excellent. I am not a tech kind of guy so if something isn't working as it is suppose to, I am pretty lost. Though I use my laptop everyday, I did not realize how impactful it is in my life. One day out of the blue, my computer would not come on... I freaked! Everything is there and apparently I dont know how to back up either but that is another story. Anyhow... I have an Alienware laptop. I figured I would go to a Microsoft Store and ask them to fix it. I did not know all the stores are closed due to Covid. So then I decided to go to Best Buy (Geek Squad)... I went to 3 different locations... no one answered any phones... waited outside in a long line just to find out no one could see me for a week. OK... Google... find me someone nearby. I was shocked to see everyone was closing at either 2pm or 4 pm and it was 3:15pm... panic.. panic... THEN....Micro Computer Center came up. I called and Noori answered. I explained what was happening and he said come on by. I did and he looked at it and said my hard drive is corrupted. I asked if he has any in stock and he did. Of course it was Friday, but he assured me it would be ready on Monday. Monday came and I called... he was still working on it. Told me he will stay until it is done that day. I am very satisfied with my experience at Micro Computer Center. Moe could not have been more helpful or accommodating. I have a contract for service at Best Buy, but they are not servicing computers on site at my local store and I was told it would take at least 3 weeks to get my computer back for a simple repair. Excellent, fast customer service. I brought my PC in on a Saturday and they were able to do a diagnostic on the spot. They tested various components to isolate the problem to a dead motherboard. The owner walked through the problem with me and also offered me some advice on how to explain my issue in order to get a replacement from the original retailer at no cost. When I spilled some H2O on my Macbook Pro, I thought it was toast. Sure enough, I couldn't even get it to turn on let alone log on. Apple won't touch a computer with water damage, so I felt hopeless. Then I remembered Micro Computer Center replaced my screen on a previous Macbook I owned for half the price Apple charged. When I brought the computer in, they were honest and said they could not be sure if a repair is possible with water damage. One week later, I'm glad to report I'm back online with my Mac and even made some instructional videos for my students this last weekend. I went to Best Buy to get my tower repair the geek said it will cost a lot to fix it ,so I said ok I will buy a need tower. So I remember this place on Pico. I told the gentleman what the geek said. Mo is a really good guy. My wifi suddenly wasn't working on my HP laptop, and everyone assumed the motherboard had gone bad. I took it to Mo, super nice, chill, he said "No, it sees the wifis available, it's not a hardware problem," which would have been more expensive and made him more money. He ran an anti-spyware program (4 scans!), cleaned everything up, sold me an anti-virus program I trust for $35 (excellent price; I checked), and charged me $79 for the clean up. I think he's very honest and a good guy, and I'd go to him again in a second. read more

I had to come out of Yelp hibernation for this one. Frankly, don't come here unless you don't mind getting your computer back "whenever." I had to call them about 8 times to check if they received the parts they ordered for my computer, if my computer was fixed yet, etc. They never called me once despite promising to do so multiple times. Less than 4 weeks after they repaired my laptop, the same part broke again. I brought it in and complained. They said they'd fix it again without charge. Repeat the same song and dance of me calling, them not calling. Then they charged me, claiming they meant there would be no charge for service, only for parts. Basically, they don't do what they say. I had a similar experience as Sharon H. Her review talks about bad customer service and that is all I had when I dropped off my laptop for repairs. Now I am an understanding person...if i give you my computer to fix and you say it will take 3 days to fix and you call me on the day its supposed to be ready and say there is a problem it will take longer... I understand... But this never happened with the people at Micro Computer Center. Here is what happened. Dropped off computer, was told it would be ready by Monday and I told them I would not be able to stop by to pick it up till Saturday. They repeated that it will still be done by Monday. I called them on Saturday to say that I would be coming in to pick it up and they said that it was not ready and that the technician was currently working on it. They then told me that they were sent the incorrect motherboard and had to wait for the right one.... So why did they not call me and let me know? They had a whole week to let me know and if they called me and told me, like I said before, I would have been fine with that... At the end of this phone conversation on Saturday I was told that they didn't know when it is going to get done...that's it... nothing else... So after this experience I knew that I would have to call them all week to make sure that when I went there on Saturday it would be ready for me...and every time i called them they would say that it would be done by end of the day and it never was until late Thursday. I went to the store to pick it up on Saturday and they never mentioned anything about the delay and there were no apologies or anything for what happened. I asked them for a discount for my troubles and thats where it got even worse... The person I dealt with was rude and even said to me that he never asked me to be a customer at his store. I was shocked the way I was treated. On top of this they lost my power cord for the computer and ended up giving me a crappy universal power cord and said that we shouldn't be giving you this because we think you never gave it to us... I highly discourage anyone from dealing with them because of their lack of communication and just plain rudeness when it comes to dealing with their customers... read more

Took in my MacBook Pro after a liquid spill on the keyboard. I actually waited way too long to take it in. Tried to let it dry out for over a month with only worsening response from keys. A friend of a friend said they could fix it but the would have to take out the mother board and give it a chemical bath to prevent corrosion. Basically, they said the longer I waited, the more damage was done and the more it would cost. Since I waited it would dost more. Went into the store, It is cluttered with a lot of computers in different states of repair, but when I dropped my MacBook off they were very courteous, and said they would take a look and call me with an estimate. Heard back from them the next day. I only needed a new keyboard. It cost less than $220 bucks. If I had gone to the Apple store (warranty had just run out) it would have been more than twice as much. Also the Apple warranty does not cover spills. I also heard if you take it there, your computer is tagged as "liquid damage" which is not covered and makes every future service more expensive. They fixed it within the week, and I am currently typing this review from the computer they fixed. No problems after a few months. Good service, Good price. To tell you the truth if they had told me I had to pay twice what I did I would have paid it, not knowing what something like this costs. Horrible service, definitely the worst I ever had. PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! You will regret going there. They are rude and they lie about what time you can pick stuff up. My flash drive got corrupted and I asked them to retrieve the files off of it. I was devastated because I needed those files for my midterm that was soon. They told me they could recover the files that night or the next day. I was surprised that they could do it that fast, so I agreed to it. Worst decision EVER! The manager of the store, while an ok guy to deal with said he would would call me when they were done. I got no response that night so I called them, they said they were running the software to retrieve my files. So they called me the next day early in the morning. I talk to the same manager and he says I see some files being retrieved, call me in 2 hrs. My mom calls in 3.5 hours because I was in class, he tells her to call again in 2 more hours. By this point, most of the day is gone and I need my files. I go down to the store about 4 hours after my mom called, I deal with this rude technician who says they found some files, but they are all corrupted. They found other things too but I was only worried about retrieving my school files. I tell them to run the program again, the rude technician tells me ok. It will take 1 hour. I wait there for 1 hour. He tells me he will call me when its done. I come back the same software now says that it will run for 13 hours!! He did not even tell me that after the hour I have to wait 13 more hours!! I am in the store, I have to wait 20 min for him to get off the phone to finally talk to me. Extremely rude! They end up not retrieving any of the files off my drive. I go to office depot, in 1 hour they retrieve some of the folders I need off my drive. Overall: Micro Computer Center is horrible!! Rude service and horrible communication. They kept pushing and pushing the time I could come to pick it up! $135 MOTHERBOARD FIX, but BATTERY DIED? My 2008 MacBookPro screen was blank/no signal. i YELP'd this place (Micro Computer Center) 'cause it was really close to my apt. Gave a call, voicemail, greeting was by "operator"... 1st hint of possible shady-business. Oh well, decided to walk-in & ask pricing. $35 for diagnostic, gentleman by name of "M.Z. Noori" says he will call when they figure the issue w/ my laptop. 3 days later "MCC guy" reports an overheated & dead motherboard, i was very upset & agreed to pick up soon as my schedule allowed; they close at 7p daily :( A week & multiple missed & answered phone-calls later i receive good news from MCC. My laptop is ALIVE! & ready for pick up @ $135! $135?!?! that's it!? ok! Met a "MCC guy" who did not want to give name when handing me their business card & of course had a really THICK accent, which made the whole explanation of the issues w/ my laptop difficult to understand. He (MCC guy) did mention my battery short circuited possibly via "bad" electrical wiring in my house & that my battery is dead, but all i cared about was my MacBookPro being back in my life. Everything ran like it should & i impulsively gave him my bank card. Brief 5 minute wait 'cause MCC guy didn't know how to use bank card machine. Left w/ Mac in hand & had a nice night. Woke, used my newly repaired laptop, battery read at 0%, turned off laptop, took out battery, saw unfamiliar scratches & smudge marks. No way! The battery was manufactured in 2006?, my refurbished battery i bought a year (2011) ago was manufactured in 2010! PUNCH IN THE FACE!! Either i've been bamboozled or they made a battery replacement mistake. I'm not into confrontation much so i didn't bother addressing the matter to MCC. I just took this as a learning experience, plus a replacement battery for a MacBookPro is only about $40 now! Would i recommend MCC to others? Meh. MAC 4 LIFE! read more

My desktop PC (VAIO) would not boot up. Just kept re-rebooting and it sounded like the HD had crapped out (250 gigs of precious data all gone to virtual heaven?? Help!!). Based on the one review on Yelp, I brought it to Micro (who has been on the same corner for well over ten years- must be doing something right). Diagnosed and fixed for $75 and I could not be happier. They also replaced the power port on my Mac book for the same price as Mac Specialists quoted, but without the Apple Attitude (if you know what I'm sayin') These guys know what they're doing. read more

I was referred to this store by a trusted friend. I drove all the way from Glendale, and it was worth it. Mr. Noori fixed my PC, which had hardware problems. He also sold me a used MacBook at an excellent price. I really like the way he can sell new and used equipment, both PC and Mac, and also do repairs. And he gives warranties on used equipment and also on repairs. But I have had no need to use a warranty. I've had the Mac almost a month now, and it's working fine. I saved well over a $1,000 versus buying a new one. Much appreciated! One thing I like about Mr. Noori, is that he gets to the point, fast. I asked him about Mac's built-in software for word processing and spreadsheet, he helped me arrive quickly at an understanding of what functionality I would lose versus Microsoft Word and Excel. Same with IPad versus MacBook. I seems that he thinks like a user, rather than like a programmer or techie. If you tell him what it is that you want to do, he helps you arrive at the optimal - and cheapest - system. It was a pleasure to work with him. read more

Wowza! I arrived back in los angeles in a buick century after having been gone for 2 months, meandering around the country while i fended off the demons of impending graduate degree-getting. i started living in one of three studios, could never tell from night to night where i'd be staying. fortunately each one had a bed.... needless to say, jobless and displaced, i would be relying heavily upon my best friend and other brain, my macbook pro (black, refurb, 3 years old, work(ed (s)) like a charm. until the fated evening, wracked with the strangeness that comes along with transience and the propsensity of some artists towards imagining that their lives will be better with red wine (true) that some of that blessed (or cursed) nectar fell all over the keyboard in one fell swoop. and got down and dirty in that keypad. and got so intertwined with all of those mechanisms that my computer's eyes filled with fluid and the screen went all wonky pretty much right off the bat. and my heart started pounding hard and skipping twenty beats. see, it's ART i have all over that hard drive, and never having backed anything up (like i said, i live on the edge, kind of like riding a bike around here without a helmet, which i frequently do) i put the computer to bed after sobbing for a while, and the next day i called some sleazebag in marina that i found on the back of the la times. sure, he wanted to replace the motherboard. no big. i was like, what kind of shlock is this, and proceeded to get a second opinion. somebody, a real honest person (a midwesterner like myself, i reckon) was like, "hey call this microcenter guy, he's great." so i did. 75 bucks and a day later, they'd cleaned (love hearing this man say the word "clean" on the phone and in person, his eyes glittering with the knowledge of what that special, specific machine is capable of) had taken care of the machine, and i was back on track, and back on black. two nights later, i was contemplating not keeping the next bottle of red wine so close to my best friend, the macbook, and spilled a little more. but no worry, i just didn't worry. a few days or weeks later, that shit was making some sounds like i never heard before, creaking like crazy when i opened the screen. and the back and forth arrows did not work any more. so i took it back. they fixed the creak for free, but the arrows were too intertwined with the rest of the keyboard, which i couldn't afford (and using an external keyboard, no prob.) all in all, my friend Mr. Noori, is now my new best friend, not just my blackbook macbook. he's a straight nice man. i saw his son in the store, which is always a good sign, as kids are next to godliness. his eyes sparkled with the truth of his good deed. i'd be effed without my system. and now, i can rest easy knowing these people know exactly what they're doing, and practice good old business (and i trust the mayhem and junk in there way more than i would some clean, pristine corporate nonsense as a general rule) at least for weirdos like me... thanks guys. the wine saga was scary, but i learned a good lesson and landed my machine in good hands. maybe they like to make a poor artist happy, or maybe they just rock. read more

i had an issue last night and i called in late around 10pm and he walked me through the steps to get it back to working other places wanted to charge me money but he was happy to try some things out before taking it in with him or anyone else so happy with the customer service he also gave me a call this morning to make sure everything was working and if i needed any exrta help. i truly thought i fried my pc now it works great. thank you very much read more
