I wished there was a MicroCenter up in Norcal. I've been PC building for several years now and all I hear about on the internet is "you should check out Microcenter if you have one closeby!" Well this is THE one of California. I finally had the opportunity to stop by and take a look. All the hype lived up to what I've heard all over the forums: "Great deals on the latest PC hardware" "Friendly staff who know what they're talking about when you ask them technical questions" "If you're trying to build a PC this is the place you go to" The products sold in here are all components and accessories that I would want if I was trying to set up a budget build to an expensive enthusiast build. I definitely put my GF to sleep walking around here, as it is an electronics store. But anyone who's looking to get into PC building or get PC parts, this is THE place. read more

Dropped off a 27" IMac - Mint Condition, in its original box/packaging, on October 3, 2021, for installation of MAC OS Sierra. After numerous excuses about the delays in completing the fairly simple service request, I finally got a call to come pick up my iMac on December 3, 2021 - 8 WEEKS LATER! I get home and unbox my IMac and find the screen, which didn't have a blemish on it the day I dropped it off at Microcenter, with several scratches on the right and lower left side of the screen. How in the world do you scratch up an Imac screen installing SOFTWARE? Shame on me for not having the Microcenter rep who took in my IMac, inspect my machine and detail the condition; in my case, verify that my machine was in mint condition, without a scratch/blemish on it. If you decide to risk servicing your machine at such an incompetent shop, have them verify the condition of your machine before you get it back in worse condition than when you dropped it off. read more

Everything electronic and computers! It reminds me a lot of frys but without all the appliances. Located off the 55 fwy and the new location is quite spacious! They have so much variety, you could get lost in one aisle for HOURS! The parking lot is kind of small and there's always a lot of people. The line was insanely long when I went and that alone discouraged me from buying anything. I love to browse the store because they have so much stuff and I like the build your own CPU section! 3 weeks gone, and they even didn't check my pc problem yet. I went there and they told me they will let the worker contact with me, but why I still didn't get any response? I decided to get my pc back, why they do like this? If you can't fix, just tell me. Then I can try other place. Why didn't contact with me? Furthers, why tell me he is busy on something? For a god of shake. Do not buy opened box if you dont want to waste your time and money. Got into a rush on black friday and got an opened box motherboard. Next thing I know my PC restart constantly. I have to take time test out the case, power supply, rams, gpu, window,... None of that have problem but the motherboard. It ruins the excite of my first time building a PC. Thanks to microcenter. I was looking for a new laptop and did my research. I looked at Fry's, Best Buy and online. After looking at reviews and figuring out what I wanted, I noticed that brick and mortar locations really didn't have a lot of inventory. I decided to go to Micro Center to see what they had in stock. They had a huge selection at all different features and prices. The salesperson was very helpful. The laptop I got was about $200 less here than online and I got to take it home the same day instead of waiting. If you've never been there it's a great place to see what's out on the market and what pricing is like. I'll definitely go back again for any other computer needs. read more

My fiance's PC was experiencing an unknown issue, so we took it to Microcenter's Tech Bar. After waiting roughly an hour we were able to see a technician who ran some diagnostic tests. After a few more minutes of waiting the technician reported that he could not find any issues but if the issue still persisted we could bring it back for further evaluation. We were recommended using a new power cable as well as a surge protector, which we purchased from Micro Center. A few weeks later the same issue continued to occur whether the PC be under load or being on desktop. Upon taking the PC back to the Tech Bar for a rework we started encountering problems. We had brought the computer in for a rework to get the issue fixed and dropped off the PC on September 6th with technician Bryan and were told that there may be a week delay before our PC would get to the front of the backlog queue. Which is understandable, however 2 weeks passed and neither me or my fiance had received any sort of update or status report about the PC. We came into the store on a Saturday to get a status report about the progress of the PC. After waiting on the Tech Bar waitlist for close to two hours we were finally approached by who I assume to be a supervisor, Josh. When we told Josh why we were there and provided a reference number for when we dropped off the PC, Josh told us that it was already picked up, which it was most definitely not. Josh told us to hang tight for a bit and said he would take a look. When he came back he told us to come back on Monday because that would be when the Tech Bar manager and both technicians who helped us before are working. I showed up on Monday morning when the store opened and walked over to the Tech Bar, where manager Johnny walked out and told me that they have no idea where the PC was and that he would need all day to talk to both technicians and to check the cameras, after which he would give me an update. Johnny reported that he did not know if the computer had been stolen or not. Meanwhile my fiance had tried calling the number provided to us by Josh, which ended up being the phone number to a medical office not the phone number to the store/tech bar. Eventually my fiance was able to get in contact with MicroCenter Customer Service where she reported that her computer that she dropped off was missing. Micro Center Customer Service provided my fiance the phone number for the Tustin Micro Center store. My fiance then called the Tustin store which then accused her of being a fraud. Later my fiance finally got a call from Johnny saying that they had found her PC. Johnny reported that when we dropped off the PC on September 6th that Bryan had put our PC underneath the Tech Bar counter without labeling it or telling anyone it was there. And eventually someone else just moved it to the back where it sat for weeks. Johnny texted me and said that he personally was going to be taking care of the PC. Johnny ran diagnostics and had the PC running for two days with a stress test. Johnny reported to me that there were no issues with the PC crashing or restarting. Johnny then said that restoring windows may alleviate the issue and that he would take care of it. Days after I was told this Johnny texted back again saying that when he attempted to restore windows the motherboard was giving back a CPU error. Johnny then recommended a new CPU and that he could have it installed and ready on October 1st. On October 2nd Johnny texted me again saying that he was finishing up updates and extending testing on our PC. On October 3rd I received a call from one of the technicians saying that the issue was with the computer's RAM not the CPU, and that they could set aside two new sticks of the same RAM we had for around $60. The technician asked me if I wanted them to install the RAM and I said I could install it myself. Upon arriving to pick up the PC I was told that they installed the RAM even after I told them not to. I was charged $20 for labor I didn't agree to. Testing the PC once home revealed the crashes still occuring. The Tech Bar was an utter waste of time and money. read more

I have been a solid customer of the Micro Center for years, I came by tonight because I was passing by and remembered that I needed a special adapter for my niece's musical controller. My niece, like many 16 year olds, is starting to really explore her artistic talents, some of which involve video, music, content creation, etc. So, her drum/sampler pad needed a USB C to USB 3.0 adapter in order to connect to her laptop and record beats, create music loops, etc. I was assisted by an extremely friendly young man, Luis Lopez, he's there in the Apple section of the store, he was a huge help and made my day and my niece's birthday!! She's owned that controller for a year already and not used it yet. So this adapter goes a super long way to making that happen. Also, I bought her some sweet lens attachments for her iPhone 7 and a killer selfie stick for .99cents!!!! Yes! .99cents!!! Also, big thanks to Christian and Kevin who were awesome out there on the floor helping answer questions and being helpful in finding you the best solution for your needs. Solid crew!! I visited micro center for my first time this morning. I arrived hoping to score a gpu (I know, long shot these days). Through sheer luck, I was able to buy myself a Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3080. I did not get the managers name who I spoke to, but he seriously hooked me up with this card that was stowed away in the back. Maybe he could tell I wasn't a filthy scalper. Afterwards I was assisted by another employee to help me build the rest of my new desktop gaming PC. I feel I was treated fairly and with patience. All my questions, no matter how stupid, were answered in a nice manner. The prices were more than fair, and I feel I wasn't pushed to upgrade to anything ridiculously overpriced and unnecessary. I really appreciate the help I got at micro center, and I trust they will do a great job putting together my new PC. Thank you again manager whos name I sadly do not remember, you hooked it up. I am truly grateful. Tip for anyone showing up in the morning, there will be people who show up right when the doors open and they will just cut the entire line and walk in front of everyone. At least the security at micro center could peak out the front door and deny those people entry. It was beyond rude of the late comers, some of us waited outside for at least a half hour. read more

I had a 4TB External Hard Drive that had been attached to an IMAC for several years when it started to fail. It caused my IMAC to shut down. I tried it in another IMAC and same thing, the IMAC shut down. I brought the drive to Micro Center and they checked it and agreed it was failing. So I paid for their DATA Recovery service - $200. They were able to capture about 99% of the nearly 4TB of files I had. Amazing! And great communications throughout the process. It took several days for them to finish. We've purchased so many items from them such as cases, graphics cards, motherboards, amongst very many other 3d printing parts and accessories along with computer build accessories. Everytime I've gone we've been greatful to the people who have helped us out. Micro Center is a great store to pick up electronic products and to grab parts to build your computer. The store is small compared to Fry's, but they have lots of little electronics goodies; e.g. internal/external drives, cables, power banks, memory, etc. It's a great place to get your inner nerd on. The store is clean and very well organized. This makes it much easier to find that little part that you are desperately trying to find. You can also find lots of fun things your weren't even looking for...lol! The only issue that I have, is that it can be hard to find assistance when you are making a purchase for your monitor, laptop, computer memory, etc. The staff is all over the place trying to help customers and using computers to look up specification, inventory, etc. They need to have a number system for helping customers! Micro Center has great competitive pricing and you don't have to fight the crowds. A large parking lot makes it easy to get in and out. read more

I just visited a few days ago to pick up a processor, and since I was already there I figured I could buy other parts for my pc. I had some help from one of the employees who went above and beyond for me! This individual got me my tower, graphics card, monitor, keyboard, mouse, and a perfect power supply! To preface this, they had sold out of the tower I wanted, that being a Corsair white tower with rgb fans. He helped me pick out another tower that was less expensive but still held up to the standards, that being to match my furniture! And while I had mentioned the tower, I had explained that I was bummed as I was just about to buy an RTX 2070 super when I was checking out online, and it just sold out. He then explained that they had just gotten more in stock! He was a huge help! He went on to show me some impressive monitors, keyboards and mice! All of which I'm extremely happy with! With the world the way it is, the line inside was very long, wrapping around to the back of the store, but I'd say it wasn't a bad wait! For how long the line was, and how many items people were buying, I was upfront in 15 minutes. Entering the building also took around maybe 15 minutes and I had gotten there around 11:20 am. The waitlist is a brilliant idea, and they executed that pretty well! They sprayed hand sanitizer on your hands before entering which again, great execution. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience! All the employees I had talked with were kind, and very nice! This establishment will definitely receive my money again, sometime in the future! Overall, it was a decent place. You can think of it as a smaller Fry's if you know of Fry's. :) The only reason I'm knocking a start of is because my bf couldn't find his ram there. There were alot of people working in the computer parts area and they were all busy. After waiting for a bit and looking at other power source and video cards, we finally saw a person free... So we walked up and he was helpful but I think their stock might be a little low...:/ But I was able to find my laptop there. The bf and I walked around the laptop area comparing different gaming laptops and finally decided on ASUS but couldn't decide on which version to buy. After discussing it between the 2 of us... We decided to ask for help. I believed his name was Mark. He was great and very honest... Which I appreciated. I know it's kind of rude but I do end up asking questions about the laptop that I already know the answers to just to test the guy...:/ And he was very honest. :) At the end, I did end up buying a smaller laptop 15.6 inches vs the 17in but when you are paying almost 1k more for the 17in plus a slightly faster refresh rate... It was just not worth it to me. They had a great little gaming laptop on sell which I ended up getting... Mark overall was great and very knowledgeable and it did not feel like he was just trying to sell me a laptop. He sold me a great little laptop and have me answers to all the questions that I had. Would I return... Most likely if I'm looking for computer parts... But it was a bit of a drive so it might not be very often. :) read more

Had to exchange a motherboard I bought a few days ago and the process was super quick and easy. I haven't been here since before the updates to the store. Have to say it's looking really nice and everything is well sorted, as well as the first time I've seen 30 series cards in stock in person. Prices for them are still too high but there's not much that can be done about that until the climate of the market changes. read more

UPDATE/ 09-5-24: I just walked out the store with a full refund. The manger Josh Krycerick was not helpful at all. He said he did all he could do to help me but let me summarize: 1. He did not. Instead, he sent Thomas, who I am grateful for, to do his job. 2. The best he could do was a $100-$200 discount for all of my troubles due to "restrictions" even though I downgraded from a Ryzen 9 9900 to a Ryzen 7. He wouldn't even let me change my GPU that was picked for me. The $100-$200 discount was just a write off if I were to have it built in store, which should be a courtesy for all my troubles especially since I can't trust their parts due to previous issues. 3. He did not sit down with me to review parts and work towards an agreeable price. You can price match certain items but he let me walk out the door with a blank face that shows he is bored of his job. The worst part of this sick joke is how Josh had the audacity to tell me to look for parts/replacements, etc., instead of straight up telling me what was the "best" he could do from the beginning, which made me lose another hour in the store for nothing. Overall, I no longer think my experience is just annoying. It has been HORRIBLE as well. I, myself, having years of experience in the retail industry would never let anyone walk out the store until we have gone through every one of our resources to ensure the customer has a great in store experience. To Micro Center, thank you to all the associates who work here but please, SIT DOWN with your managerial staff and have a word with them. I will no longer shop here again. read more

I normally head here for the best deals on computer parts. The sales are normally really good and are typically an in-store only deal. Recently I made a visit to pick up the Ryzen 2700x during the time of their sale, but I noticed that the lines were super long. Out of curiosity, I asked an employee about what was going on and he informed me that each of the sales was set at the beginning of the month and will end by the end of Black Friday week. So I decided to just head there the next morning to pick up the CPU to avoid the line and realized the price actually did change since the sale ended... With my confusion, Micro Center was able to work with me right away after explaining my situation and immediately honored the price. Overall even though I was a bit confused with what that employee had mentioned, they still worked with me without any hassle at all. I believe the manager's name was Ariel, I was surprised by how quick he was able to get in touch with me and provided awesome service without any questions. read more

I purchased a g509 yesterday and paid for its actual price which was $1,199 then when I got home and checked the PC it was a different one g229. The staff admitted that it was their fault and they were having that problem since and was trying to fix it but didn't. So I got a $899 pc instead of the $1,199. They wouldn't do return or exchange just because the serial number on the box and pc was different. They wouldn't do anything about it and now i'm stuck with the g229. Watch out when purchasing PC's always make sure to open the box in store before leaving. 2 and a half hour wait to pick up items that I reserved online? And then another 40 min inside waiting in line to get those items. Ridiculous. This store has no sense of customer service or how to manage customers. You have 6 cashiers at normal registers. Yet only 2 cashier for online orders? Come on. This is not how you run a business. I would shop at Amazon. Best buy. Hell even Walmart before coming back here. If you do come make sure to bring a tent and some food. You will be camped out for a while. read more

12/22/20 - This place sucks! Waited in line for 2 hours and the lady giving out vouchers just gave it to people that came up to her instead of the people that waited in line all morning. The 10th person in line didn't even get a voucher. This is a terrible display of customer service and shows how unorganized they are. I don't even want to give it 1 star. Very disappointed!! If I could give Microcenter zero stars, I would. I was there 30 min before closing to get my daughter a part for her computer for Xmas. A friend told me they were in stock, and I drove to the store 30 min away. I was told by the very nasty Store Manager who was standing outside that I was not allowed in the store even though they didn't close for 30 more minutes. I have worked in a retail store for 15+ years, if I had talked to a customer like that, I would have been fired on the spot. I had attached a photo of the "Manager" she is a very unfriendly, rude, unprofessional, and mean person. Micro Center - Nasty and rude Store Manager - Computers Near Me - Tustin, California

Stay away from here.. for now. Used to be a great place to buy computer components, but now its very unsafe and risky to go, especially if you want a GPU. Scalpers will strong arm / openly threaten people. Videos have been posted to confirm this and management is well aware. But months after pressure, reports, etc. literally nothing has been done. As others have mentioned, even doing a random lottery could solve 99% of the safety issues, but management is unwilling to change. I've been in the line a couple times, and each time have left because it was clear that the same group of scalpers (that show up everyday mind you with proxies), will actively cut, using an excuse of empty chairs left out as "their place in line." Any attempt at a fair line is undercut and even daring to mention the fact that chairs aren't people is met with threats. I've told management (I believe Greg) and other employees who all claim to "know this is happening and are working on a solution," but again nothing has been done and nothing will be done. The store used to be trustworthy, and I always recommended it to people looking to buy any electronic, but the trust has definitely eroded and unless you know the right scalpers, you probably aren't safe :) read more

After Fry's collapse years ago, was worried about acquiring parts for PC builds and computer related. My friend took my to Micro Center years ago and now its the 1st place I go for PC related purchases. The staff has always been helpful, I have spoken to Managers for assistance and they have all been knowledgeable and welcoming. Good stock for how messed up the world electronic market is, and do their best to provide the best experience in my times there. From full builds to just grabbing cables, to general inquiries, have not ever left not knowing more than I entered with. Will keep visiting in the future, and recommending friends and family who have PC related issues. read more

This is probably the best big computer speciality store in the area. This used to be my second choice to Fry's Electronics but now they are the only choice and actually have expanded into a very amazing and organized store with lots of helpful and enthusiastic associates. You can feel the curiosity and excitement for computers and electronics here from customers and employees. I have never had a bad experience and my recent visit was no different. I came in to repair my desktop which was originally built at Micro Center, working great for years but now kept blue screen crashing. A tech named Danny troubleshooted and texted me saying the memory was bad. He answered all my questions and concerns on guarantees for the service and memory which is 30 days. I purchased new RAM and had it installed, brought the desktop home and it continued to blue screen crash. Brought it back the next day to Micro Center, didn't see Danny but another tech named Robert troubleshot the system on the spot and installed a fresh copy of Windows, no charge... but he suspected the motherboard was bad if it continues to blue screen crash after this. Got the desktop back home, turned it on and still blue screened crashed. Time to let this desktop go and look at other options. Btw, only reason I wanted to salvage this desktop was because I have so many apps, plug-ins, custom settings, etc. which never transfer properly to a new system. But after the new Windows install, it wiped the drive so it didn't matter anymore. Micro Center helped me exhaust every option on this computer quick and easy though. No other computer store will have employees this enthusiastic, fast and helpful. FIVE STARS read more

This boy Albert (asian, young guy) at the cashier was very rude. He scanned my items and I asked if I can apply for credit card to get the 5% discount (total purchased was $1000 so I would've saved $50) and he said "You should've said that to me earlier before I scanned this (my items), because now I'm gonna have to rescan it again and have you make an account" then I ended up just saying it's okay and not to do it anymore. I'm like c'mon man! How long does it take to rescan it again?? And in the first place, ISN'T YOUR JOB??! read more

I bought a Keychron mechanical keyboard here which died on me after just minutes of my purchase, when I tested it out in the parking lot connected to my laptop. I returned it immediately. I believe it was a returned item that had been put back on the shelf, which it should not have been, because of the state of the packaging. In years past at another Microcenter, I bought an affordable Lenovo laptop new and it lasted me several years without any problems. I'm glad that Microcenter exists, especially in a post-Frys world. Very few stores put Lenovo, Acer, Asus laptops on display for people to try out. They are better run than Frys was, but you MUST steer clear of anything that shows even very subtle signs of having been opened. Check it closely, check it twice! read more

Horrible staff, don't know where to begin! My boyfriend had an online for pickup. Then the lady names Vanessa screamed through the top of her lungs at my 2 year old daughter for not standing in line. WHICH makes no sense because they have a texting app appointment set up for us to walk in the store to shop already. She screamed profanity and called her a yellow thing! And denies that she called her any names when another manager escorted us out. I get it the pandemic is making people crazier than usual. But this is not right to call my baby a yellow thing! Just because my boyfriend is Asian and I'm Caucasian she thinks she has to right to scream at people's kids. I immediately told her to back off my kid and the name callings..then that's when she goes you all have to leave, you guys keep bringing the Chinese virus to our stores and nation. Not only do I want an apology from the corporate office. I would like Vanessa to be fired or relieved from her position at this tustin microcenter. What she did today was unacceptable and clearly name calling out family in front of total strangers! This other Asian man stepped in and confronted her for the name calling and he was escorted out by a Black employee threatening physical force.
