Do NOT bring your Mac here for service. I called, said I had a MacBook Pro that needed service, but I had to bring it in on a Thurs afternoon, and get it back by Tues because I lecture with it on Tues & Thurs. They told me no problem, bring it in Thurs, they'll diagnose it in a day or two, if they can fix it then they will, if not, I can pick it up, they'll order parts, then I'll bring it back for repairs. No problem. So I drive 45 mins to this Tustin store, only to have the service person tell me they can't diagnose it in a day or two, they need 7-9 DAYS...never mind any time for repairs. I explained my conversation with their phone support...sorry, no can do. Take it to an Apple Store they said. And they're an "authorized Apple service center"? Right. I'm writing Apple about this, too. UPDATE: Micro Center's Customer Relations responded to my review (below), asking me to respond to them via email so they could address my concerns. I was very disappointed with Micro Center when purchasing a computer monitor recently. I purchased online for pickup from their Tustin store which is nearly an hour from my home. When I arrived at the store I was informed that I could not enter the store to complete my purchase and pickup my monitor for at least 3-4 hours. This is crazy! The store made no provision for taking care of online customers and expected you to wait with all the regular customers to enter because of COVID. Most other similar stores would have such pickup transactions managed outside the store. It ended up actually taking slightly over 5 hours before my number was finally called so I could get my monitor. Totally inexcusable failure in customer service! read more

Big store but don't rely on their online inventory count. System said an item was in stock but when I got in the store I was told they didn't have any. Even checked from the parking lot and still showed in stock. 40 mile one way drive waste of time and gas. read more

Customer service is good, but remember the employees are commission, that's why they place those barcode tags on your items. Sometimes it's cheaper to price products out and do your homework. They do have great prices in the clearance area and refurbished hard drives. I was in the store January 15, 2019 to get a new motherboard, PSU, RAM etc... then all of a sudden there is a lot of commotion, the store is being robbed at gun point, which turned out to be a cap gun. Trying to check out was a pain, then police were taking everyone's statements, police, ambulance and fire had everyone blocked in. Then I return on January 17, 2019 to buy a couple more parts and return a CPU cooler. Well the power goes out and all the systems go down. They can't check anyone out or scan products. Granted these issues are out of the control of the store and management. But offer your customers a discount voucher or something for their continued inconvenience. read more

I love this place, quality that ranges from basic needs to "I know exactly what the hell I'm doing..." I land somewhere in the middle, but know that I can come here for any technological need I may have. Even though I live about 50 miles away from this place I've planned purchases to be stalled until I was in the area so I could then come here instead of going to the Fry's in Burbank.... Lords above and below I hate that place... Even though the customer service is lacking, honestly sometimes doesn't seem better than Fry's at times.. But whenever I go there I either know exactly what I need, and I just need to look for it, or I have someone with me who's knowledge is light years ahead of mine, so they make the decision a lot faster and easier. But overall, customer service or not, this place has helped me with just about any need I've had in the past year or so that I've known about it. The prices are pretty competitive and everything is pretty well organized, not always the cleanest place, but definitely organized. read more

I miss living near this store. Everything about it screams "1985" and all the parts are just clustered everywhere. In other words, it's an actual electronics store and not a freaking Best Buy. And fornuately the *inventory* isn't from 1985. I was doing a full build in 2012 and their motherboard/CPU bundles saved me over $200. They're also willing to price match Newegg, which in the OC is a bargain since you'd have to pay sales tax from Newegg anyway. The motherboard I bought died in a week. Took it right back to the store and with no hassle got it swapped out. Way faster than if I'd had to RMA to the manufacturer. I also got a freebie USB drive when I signed up for the loyalty program. Knocked a star off because the service is a bit...hands off. Which is probably fine for this kind of store, though admittedly I never actually asked any technical questions. I gather most people that are coming here already know what they need and that was my case, so all I needed was a pointer in the right direction. I've also never really been impressed with buying off their website - their pricing isn't nearly competitive enough online. The main advantage for me was just having a store with the parts I could have bought on Newegg within driving distance so I could just get up and running the second I came home instead of waiting for the mailman. The closest Fry's was even further and frankly, I never like shopping at Fry's. I don't live in the OC anymore and as I prep another build, I'm already missing the convenience... read more

Worst mistake of my life trusting Micro Center Tustin for my MacBook Pro mid 2012 repairs. I needed my RAM swapped and my keyboard top case replaced to fix a keyboard issue. The initial quote was for roughly $400 so we agreed on the services and I dropped off my computer. 3 days later I receive a phone call from Michael saying that the quote has increased to $1,700 because the computer needed additional repairs. I have owned this MacBook Pro for years and I know for a fact that the only problem was the RAM and keyboard. I told them I only wanted the original repairs for roughly $400 and they agreed. Two days later I receive another call from Micro Center Tustin and the price has increased again to a final price of $950.00 for the keyboard and RAM ONLY. Unbelievable. They said that $950 would be the lowest cost for the two repairs and the $400 was no longer valid. I cancelled all the repairs for my computer right away and told them I would take it somewhere else for service. BEWARE! The managers are very shady/sketchy people to do business with. It seems like this store is not managed properly and needs to be checked out. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR STUFF. MARK OR INITIAL ALL YOUR PARTS IN THE COMPUTER BEFORE YOU TAKE IT HERE SO THEY CAN NOT SWAP THEM FOR BAD PARTS. I picked up my MacBook 1 day later after cancelling the repairs and the computer does not even boot up now. The trackpad mouse was sticking up out of the enclosure and was not put back together correctly. Now the mouse DOES NOT WORK at all. The fan on the laptop is now EXTREMELY LOUD when you start up the computer and it will not shut off. It sounds like the computer is going to explode it is so loud. Even if the computer worked I would not be able to hear any sound over the fan. The fan has NEVER made noise in over 5 years and all of a sudden you can hear it across the room? The mouse trackpad ALWAYS worked and NOW it doesn't? Brand new scratches on the top and bottom of the laptop also from mishandling. The computer has always been in a case since I bought it and just a little over 1 week with Micro Center and the computer looks like trash and completely doesn't work. DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE WITH YOUR EXPENSIVE ELECTRONICS. THE MANAGERS HERE ARE HUSTLERS AND NEED TO BE CHECKED. Worst part of it all I WAS RECOMMENDED TO THIS PLACE BY APPLE PHONE SUPPORT. APPLE SHOULD NOT DO BUSINESS WITH MICRO CENTER TUSTIN. I am forced to buy a new computer now. Total waste of time and money trusting this place. I've been coming here for decades now, and make a 20+ mile drive, passing many other computer stores on the way. Why? Well, I don't go that often, but there are 2 types of purchases that get me out there: 1) You need something today. You can't even wait 2 days from Amazon. They will have it. If it is something that plugs into a computer, there's a 99.9% chance they have it. 2) You need EXPERT advice. I know quite a bit about computers, and even built my own and modified many. But I'm not a computer science major, and I've been a bit lax about keeping up with this very fast-changing business since having kids. But even when was at the top of my game most of the employees here knew far more than me, and have NEVER steered me wrong with their advice. They also have pretty good prices on refurbished and their in-house "powerspec" PCs. Prices on other items usually aren't bad, esp by brick-and-mortar standards. If you go to any of the major chains, like Best Buy, you're likely to find uninformed millennial sales-staff (usually too busy checking their phones to help, and will know less about computers than you if they do) and abysmal selection. That's why I drive all the way out to Tustin! read more

Came here for a small display for my Arduino programming project, bought a part and found it not to be working when I got home! Brought it back with the receipt and was helped by Richie in the returns department! Went to the bins for the parts area and could not find what I was looking for for about 20 minutes. Finally was able to get a hold a rep called Julian, he was able to find the parts I was looking for in 2 minutes! :) Super helpful staff here, return was smooth and reps on the floor in the Arduino area were awesome! I went with a friend to camp for a new RTX 30 series graphics card as this is a normal thing people do to get their hands on one of these hard-to-get components. Anyway, we camped outside of microcenter for almost 12 hours (we were 3rd in line). When it was time to open the doors one of the workers were yelling that they didn't have any graphics card even though we saw a huge truck pull in at 3 am. So after receiving the disappointing news, we packed up and left. As it turns out THEY DID HAVE THE CARDS! Everyone who were waiting in line were in a discord server. One person decided to stay and check it out anyway and low and behold he got his hands on a 3080 graphics card and posted it in the discord chat. The manager should be ashamed of herself for giving people false information! People who went there for graphics cards that night were fuming with anger. This place used to be one of my favorite places to buy computer parts but I feel betrayed after what they did to us and can't recommend them anymore nor will they have my business. I went in here with a budget but I didn't know what I should get. Calculating everything was really hard. I was going back and forth comparing prices and that's when Elias came in and asked us if we needed any help. I know that is what he was suppose to do but what he did after was what made my experience really easy. This is a review about their cashier, Leah G., who do not have any integrity or decency to inform the customer of any confusion. I came into the store to buy a laptop and also redeem a free flash drive coupon. I was not aware at all that this coupon was only redeemable for microcenter branded flash drives, so I brought a flash drive from the aisle to the counter. I gave her the coupon & the flash drive, which was returned by question "Do you want this?" And to obvious question, I said "Yes." And she made a disgusted face with no answer and walked away. I waited for her to return, to which she decided to grab the USB, and charged me without letting me know that the USB is NOT redeemable with the coupon. She scanned the coupon, and I thought the final price only reflected the laptop+tax. Then, I saw the receipt to realize it was charged AND without the actual USB I was supposed to get. I asked her that I didnt want the USB and wasnt aware of the limitations. She simply said "go to the customer help desk." Like if she didnt want to work here, that should not be a customer's job to take the frustration. I don't think I will come back purely because of how this associate has treated me with such disgust. If anybody sees her, I advise to just go to another store or order online and pick up. Good job Microcenter. You lost a customer. read more

Don't camp in line early. Don't bother asking for the manager because the manager hides. Literally waited in line at 5am at the store. Third in line and the girl announces the code is up for everyone. How in the world did we go from third in line to 27th. The employees and the manager won't bother trying to explain how their process works or how it even makes freaking sense. The code is up at 9:30am. Anyone can copy the code and scan the code from home while everyone else is waiting in line. The manager didn't care what so ever. And didn't try to listen to anyone. Don't give them business! The worst of the worst. Over 50 people went inside the store before we were able to and we were third in line. Pure stupidity. read more

Bought a higher end ASUS laptop from Micro Center in February. Broke down in October. Took it back for warranty service. After a month and no calls was told they may get the parts needed in another 2 weeks or so. That's a month and a half to repair the laptop, if I'm lucky. Had to buy another one to have a laptop to use. When a similar problem happened with another brand several years ago I just shipped the laptop back and immediately got a new replacement. I think it's best to buy online and deal with the manufacturer directly. Otherwise, just sit and wait. read more

Like a baby-sized "Fry's" but with a more bland ambiance. First off, I am not a computer or technology person, so I am not the target audience for this store. Anyways, I rarely frequent these types of stores. I only go in when I need to purchase some computer related items every 2-3 years or so. This weekend the bf and I went here to purchase a new router. Pros: Smaller than Fry's so it doesn't feel so overwhelming and it is somewhat easier to find stuff. The shelving they use is only a little over 5' tall so if you are at least 5'5" tall you should be able to see clear across the store and see all the departments...making it easy to get the hell out of this place faster! Seemingly reasonable/in-expensive prices. Easy parking. Not located in a crazy popular shopping center where you will need to battle people just to get in the parking lot. Cons: Sales people did not sound very coherent in describing the difference between different brands and capabilities. The sales flyer listed a router as being on-sale but failed to mention that the router was refurbished, which would've been helpful to know before going to said store for product...sneaky, sneaky. They seem to be mimicking the whole Fry's deal with having junk food down the check-out line. But they are lacking in the whimsy of the Fry's cartoon/fantasy inspired topiary and statues. read more

Upon coming I was informed that they're backed up so it'd be better to go to the actual Apple store. Why do they even offer time slots to get your product serviced if they don't even have the back up support and time to do so. It's just a waste of everyone's time. Absolutely stellar service. We had ordered a monitor on the microcenter website. We drove 2 hours to this microcenter location to pick it up and after waiting a very long time with 2 impatient kids, we were told that the monitor that we had reserved was unavailable. Cameron, the front end supervisor, went absolutely above and beyond to make it right. What could have been an extremely bad experience turned out to be better than ever because Cameron is such an awesome manager. Definately will be coming back here. read more

I have been shopping at this establishment for over 10 years. I built a new office last year and spent lots of money here. Recently I purchased some VGA connectors and cables but ended up not using them. I tried to return the unopened items and the guy at the register said that I couldn't return it since it was over 30 days. He said he would ask the "manager". He came over and said no return of any kind, not even for credit. I asked him if the return policy has changed and he said no. I am sure the return policy last year was 90 days and not 30 days. BEWARE of new 30 day return policy. I'm now stuck with things I don't need. I will not longer be making any purchases here. read more

The best place to get all your "nerdy" tech goods! One of the few places with a really robust maker section (think RPis, microcontroller type stuff), and staff that are passionate about the tech. It's awesome to go somewhere where you can find other people who are into tech and can guide you in the right direction with some "niche" products. Way better than the big box stores, I wish they had more locations! With the advent of online shopping, it's hard to find a really GOOD tech/computer store (RIP Frys). This place is hands down better than Fry's Electronics in terms of customer services and selection. They have very knowledgeable staff that know what they are doing and also commission based. They seem to love their job more than Fry's. They carry a wide range of computers and electronics. Their inventory spans with different brands that Fry's and Best Buy don't offer. The only caveat is that if you try to price match, if it's lower than their internal employee pricing or store cost, they won't do it. The lowest they can go is their employee pricing or store pricing. I tried multiple times to price match items that were way more expensive than Fry's or Amazon but got shot down to match at the price. (it was too low). Overall, they got great selection but sometimes the pricing could be expensive compared to the market price. You can also checkout their returns section for some decent deals on things, as they are customer returns but still work fine. I wish they would open on at LA but I highly doubt it. read more

So what happen, today 1/9/2016 at 2:00 Am i found a motherboard searching the sales/returning section (open box) with SKU 006973 and clearance id: 202553,to replace my client 2nd workstation, its was cheap total with tax $36.68, it was a good deal and very affordable. 10:30 Am, im in the store with a print out of the item I found, the employees help me to check the compatibility of my old motherboard and the i ask them to find the specific item. After a search on the selves we didn't find it and then i was show to them the print out from their website. They advise me to talk to the manager to much the price. Talking to Mr. Berumen about the issue and show him the print out, in 5 seconds he told me we sold the item I'm sorry i ask him again id he is sure and he told me yes. Going to the cashier to pay I thought again all that and I ask a employ to find the item in the database so using the Clearance id he found it the motherboard was in the store, so i ask him again to verify if that we found at the database was true and the answer was yes because its on the system. Conclusion, -Bad work ethics, probably the manager thought that the money grows up to the trees. -Frustration, i was thought that was a good deal for a 2nd workstation replacement part and I paid $15 more so why I was looking to find a cheap solution?. - Helping Customer from an administrative position is not a policy any more ? I bought the motherboard because I need to finish the job .. so yes for $15 more and the attitude that I received you got the negative review and already talk to the headquarters about that. Employees are so lazy. I was ordering some high end headphones and a VR headset. Both items needed to be picked up in the back. Waited in line for about 15 min in the online order/pick up area. Was told I could not purchase any items from her and I had to wait in the retail check out line instead. At this point there is no one behind me, my orders were literally on the shelf directly behind her. I've literally purchased high value items several times in this manner from the store. This is infuriating to be treated like I'm at Burger King. Microcenter has gone down hill fast, their customer service is terrible, the staff is lazy. Broken display items all around the store. Going to make most of my electronic purchases online. I'd rather have no customer service than dealing with lazy staff. read more

Had a great time, took my two year old computer to be fixed and the sales person stated no problem, just needs to go Over and by a hardship drive. I met S. Rodriguez. I was not in his field, but got me with the right guy. After wards he talked to me about some laptops, how the cost has gone down it would be good to have that extra laptop when you desk top goes down, I said okay, but he did it again and up sold me on one with DVD. He did a great job and I walked out of your store felling I got the best deal ever. I went in today and he was not in, so I did not make a purchase. The only bad new was the computer I brought in to her fixed was not ready, the other Seles person posted it and the closed it, So it just sat on the shelf. I would like to know how it is possible that we spent over 10k on a build for a work station and are told that a build would take 3 days max but when we take everything in they tell us it will be 2 weeks minimum and up to 60 days? THEN someone tells us that yes they have plenty of 3090s in the back but a manager refuses to sell it to you. Let's add on how they recommend a specific mother board to us for the type of work we do so we double check with them that the case we purchased will fit everything. We'll guess what? It won't fit and now we have to wait an additional 3-4 days for another case and they don't even know if that will fit. read more

Most of the people that come into Micro Center already knows what they are looking for. I mainly just go just to check out some PC parts, some laptops, and monitors. Ever since Fry's went out of business, this is the only place to go to get computer parts. They are only doing in-store only for a lot of items to make customers go into the store to speak with a salesperson. From what I heard, they work off of commission. They don't really have a system for graphics card except through a raffle system. There has been fights early in the morning between scalpers and miners. I just wanted to go to grab some RAM, spoke to a salesman, and they said only those in Build Your Own can get them. They must be really fighting for sales. A lot of the sales people came up to me asking if I needed help like every 5 minutes and kept insisting I buy warranty when the manufacture's warranty is already good. Then, they just sticker the crap out of everything. Don't go here unless you really need the computer parts or want to be bait and switch by the sales people. Be smart and get your HDMI and headphones on Amazon, which is way cheaper than what Micro Center is selling them for. FYI, they only sell computer parts and nothing else related to audio. read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR PHONE HERE!!!! They are a new "Authorized Apple Service Provider" - I wish I would have checked Yelp first before bringing my phone here. I thought that they would be faster than going to the genius bar. Of all the things that happened, THEY DELETED MY PHONE FROM ICLOUD which removed all of my backups. I lost all of my baby photos of my daughter. All of them. Every. Single. One. I was very uncomfortable, but the tech told me that in order to diagnose the problem, I had to disconnect my phone from Find my iPhone. He assured me that this was not disconnecting it from my iCloud - yet - he was so wrong. I ended up not having MicroCenter fix my phone. I got a bad vibe, and I had paid my $40 to proceed with their diagnosis and despite me having been there for 30 minutes filling our paperwork and doing their setup - while their techs were there and the salesperson assured me he had two people ready to look at it and it would be done within an hour - as soon as I paid my money the techs had gone to lunch and no one would even touch it for an hour. If I was going to have to wait 2 hours to find out if my phone had to be sent for repairs... I'll just wait at the apple store. I wish though, I had just gone straight there and not ever let them disconnect my phone from iTunes. The loss of those photos are irreplaceable. read more
