I would strongly encourage anyone considering buying from this business to STEER CLEAR. I purchased a couch that was represented to me as brand new. When I opened the boxes to begin assembling it, I immediately found grass all over the couch which obviously raised a major red flag about whether this couch had actually been brand new or not. Despite that, I cleaned everything up and continued assembling it, hoping there wasn't going to be any other issue. Unfortunately, toward the end of assembly, I discovered that one of the armrests was missing the latches needed to attach it to the sofa AND the armrest itself was ripped. I contacted the business within 24 hours and explained exactly what had happened including pictures. Their initial response was essentially that I should just drive back to their warehouse and pick up the missing latches. But at that point, the missing latches were the least of the problem. I had been sold a couch that was supposed to be brand new, yet it arrived with grass in the packaging, missing hardware, and a ripped armrest. I explained this to them multiple times. After going back and forth, they finally agreed to give me store credit. I was willing to accept that even though, in my opinion, I should have been offered a refund for an item that was not delivered in the condition it was represented to be in. They then told me I needed to return the couch.... So I did exactly that. The couch was already approximately 99% assembled, and I had sent them pictures showing exactly what condition it was in. I had a relative with a truck drive the couch back to their warehouse for me. Then, after we went through the trouble of transporting the couch all the way back, they refused to accept it because it wasn't in the original boxes... Seriously? They knew the couch was no longer in the boxes. I had already sent them pictures showing that it was almost completely assembled. They knew exactly what condition it was in before I drove it back. I explained that I had no reasonable way to put it back into the original packaging. It arrived in three separate boxes, and I had no idea how it had originally been packed. Even if I somehow managed to disassemble it and cram everything back into the boxes, their solution made absolutely no sense. They would still have to take it apart again, inspect it, replace the missing/damaged pieces, and repackage it before potentially reselling it. I even spoke directly with the owner via FaceTime, and rather than trying to find a reasonable solution, he was extremely rude and completely unwilling to work with me. I explained the situation logically and repeatedly, but he simply refused to take the couch back. So now I'm out $700, I've wasted a tremendous amount of time, I've had to arrange transportation to return a defective product, and after doing everything they asked me to do, I was still left with absolutely no resolution. What makes this even more frustrating is that I wasn't demanding anything unreasonable. I was willing to accept store credit just to resolve the situation and move on. They couldn't even do that. The entire experience was frustrating from beginning to end, but the way management handled the situation was what really sealed the deal for me. A business can make a mistake. Products can have defects. What matters is how you treat the customer when something goes wrong. In this case, they made the situation dramatically worse by refusing to take responsibility and then hiding behind a technicality they already knew about. If you're thinking about buying furniture from this place, my advice is DON'T. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend spending your money somewhere that actually stands behind what it sells and respects its customers when there is a problem. $700 lesson learned. I will never shop here again.

My husband & I are a husband & wife team, and we have a small property maintenance/ service business in a vacation rental area in Newport Beach. Our services include dealing with appliances that need repair, as well as replacing appliances when needed. Regarding rental properties, it is important when a tenant is occupying a property, that problems get resolved as soon as possible so that they are able to enjoy their vacation. Also, when a tenant has a vacation reserved for a specific date, our services include seeing that the property is ready for their arrival. A local Realtor contacted us with a 'To Do List' for a property & asked us to start on Monday, July 12th, and be completed by Friday, July 16th @ 3 PM for the tenant arrival. Monday morning (7/12) the Realtor contacted us again, and said the refrigerator was not cooling & could we take a look at it before she called in an appliance technician. My husband looked at it and reported back that an appliance technician was needed to diagnose the problem. The Realtor was NOT able to find an appliance tech that could respond before the Friday, July 16th deadline @ 3 PM. She contacted us later in the day & said the owner said we could either get a rental refrigerator or buy a new one. We lined up a rental refrigerator that could be delivered in time to meet the Friday deadline. Monday & Tuesday I, also, looked into buying a new refrigerator for the property. We knew that inventory & the 'supply chain' had been severely impacted since the early part of 2020 due to the pandemic. And we have faced many challenges in the last 16+ months to maintain the quality of service that our clients have become accustomed to over the years we have been in business. We knew that during this time it has been difficult to get parts for repairs, and that vendors have had problems getting large appliances from manufacturers and keeping them in stock. In August 2020, we purchased a refrigerator for another property that we work on. I spent a lot of time researching various models so that we could advise the owner regarding their purchase of a new refrigerator. This particular owner had purchased a GE side-by-side refrigerator that was being replaced. The GE had problems from day #1 with the ice maker (poor design). A lot of money was spent on trying to repair the ice maker and within 1 week of a repair, the ice maker would stop working again. So we wanted to make sure that the owner did not have problems with the Aug 2020 refrigerator purchase. The Whirlpool choice has been problem-free since this purchase. So we decided to purchase the same refrigerator for the property that had to be ready on Friday, July 16th. I contacted all the vendors that we have worked with over the years ... no one had it in stock and the soonest expected delivery date I could find was Sept 9th. I woke up Wednesday morning (7/14) and recalled that we had tried a new vendor for an electric dryer in Oct 2020: Howard's Appliance in Irvine. I called & asked for the sales representative that had helped me out in October. The voice on the other end of the line, GEORGE MOAWAD, said that sales representative had retired, but he would be happy to help me. We chatted a little, and I could see that he was knowledgeable. I gave George the manufacturer name & model and he replied, "We have that in stock and it can be delivered TOMORROW ..." I was ECSTATIC... we would be able to meet our deadline & provide quality service once again for a client. Within a few minutes, the order was completed over the phone (12:36), and we received a copy of the order via e-mail (12:38). I e-mailed George (1:00) and asked him to revise the order and have the 'owner's information' be in the 'Sold To' and 'Ship To' boxes. I received a revised order via e-mail @ 1:10 ... truly a 5 STAR PERFORMANCE from George on the sales side. Regarding delivery that was another 5 STAR PERFORMANCE. My husband met the delivery guys on Thursday (7/15) ... they wore masks, were very polite & efficient. The lead guy informed my husband that they would not be able to install the waterline for the ice maker and water @ the door, because there was not a shut off valve behind the refrigerator. So the water line was taken back to Howard's, and we were told that the waterline would be credited to the purchase price (credit was promptly received from George). But, no worries, we still had time to get our plumber to the property to install a new shut off valve & water line. They showed up on Friday (7/16) and the property was ready @ 3 PM. So, Howard's Appliance has come to our rescue 2 x's in the last 9 months. Dino, our sales rep in Oct 2020 was excellent, and we received next day delivery (when no other vendor had inventory). And George has come to our rescue this month (when no other vendor had inventory), and we received next day delivery. In the future, GEORGE @ Howard's Appliance will be our FIRST CALL ... DO NOT PURCHASE PRODUCTS AT HOWARDS IN LAGUNA HILLS! I purchased a Maytag washer, model number MVWC565FW, on January 2, 2018. It was delivered and set-up in my home on January 4, 2018. I ATTEMPTED my FIRST WASH ON January 5. The appliance was not able to adjust to the spin cycle on the first load! I contacted Howards and asked that a replacement be sent and was told that an AUTHORIZED service representative of the manufacture, (Whirlpool) must REPAIR this NEW washer that could not wash my FIRST load. The repair person appeared 5 DAYS LATER and repaired the bent or broken wiring on the NEW washer. The NEW washer worked for TWO loads. The WHIRLPOOL MAYTAG WASHER /HOWARDS THE RETAILER will not go into the rinse cycle! The I called Howards and WHIRPOOL. I was told by HOWARDS that they would not exchange unless WHIRLPOOL determined that it should be replaced. I was told by WHIRLPOOL that this was not correct and that only HOWARDS can determine an exchange is warranted!! I am now waiting on a second repair person to arrive. NEW PURCHASE LESS THAN ONE MONTH OLD!! It is no wonder that retailers such as COSTCO eat retailers like HOWARDS lunch. I kick myself that I didn't make my purchase at COSTCO or even Sears where doing the RIGHT THING is part of their companies mission statement. Do yourself a favor and do not WASTE a minute shopping for any products at HOWARDS APPLIANCES in Laguna Hills or any HOWARDS location. Ordered a new dishwasher from Home Depot last week, the crew came to deliver and install it, one look at the kitchen setup and the guys were out saying they can not install it, they recommended we keep the dishwasher and have it installed with a handyman as there was a gap between the dishwasher and the kitchen sink, (see picture attached), so I said ok but had a question, will the manufacturer warranty and the extended 5 year warranty hold if the installation was done by us??? They didn't have an answer so we called Home Depot and the answer was negative, all warranties would be void if we installed it ourselves!!! So we denied the delivery and they left with the dishwasher. We went searching for another company who would install it without any fuss! Lowe's offered to come n take a look for $40, which further made me sad and I was pretty disappointed by then, then my sister suggested we visit Howard's which was right next to the Home Depot in Tustin! We entered and were greeted by Rudy, who was such a delight to work with, he made sure he called the installers, sent them the pictures to see if there would be any problems, we waited about 20 minutes and got confirmation that the installation would not be a problem, we may have to pay a little extra if anything had to be altered to install, so we agreed and placed the order, the guys arrived on time, did the install without any drama, even ensured the ground was level under the dishwasher by placing 1/4 inch wood shimmers, at NO EXTRA charge and left us very satisfied and happy! Deceptive sales and no customer help. When we first talked to them about buying a new washer and dryer we told them about our issue with the front loader we had before, the washing machine we get smelly no matter what we did. The sales rep told us the new ones are much better and they "fixed" those issues...so we took a chance. It did not take long for the machine to become smelly, so we returned it. When we did the same sales rep said "of yeah, that's the biggest complaint about these". The new one was a standard top load, that ended up failing after less than a year and a half. When we were dealing with the the extended warranty company they use, Centricity, we were getting nowhere. Centricity is a nightmare to deal with, they refuse to let you speak to anyone, and close your case without ever speaking to you about it. When we went to Howard's for help they simply said we "escalated your complaint/issue", which is sales speak for we don't really care. After that we never heard from them, no call backs to see what was happening, no assistance offered in dealing with their preferred warranty company...nothing. It's easier dealing with a "big box store". At least there if you complain they make it right and work with you to get things done. I would prefer to go to smaller stores, but when they don't even want to help their customers it's hard to support them. Money lost and lessons learned. read more

We feel so badly for any customer or employee who was left hanging with no notice this weekend. For anyone who is interested, Howards was purchased April 7, 2025 by S5 Equity (Mark and David Steinhafel) who also own Wiens Winery (Temecula), Hammacher Schlemmer, Heartland America, Steinhafel Furniture (Wisconsin & Ilinois). With all of the experience that these investors have, it seems odd that they would give up on a brand they just acquired. Perhaps the plan was to close the retail chain from the beginning? I recently had the pleasure of working with George, and I have to say that I was thoroughly impressed with his professionalism, knowledge, and customer service. From the moment we walked into the store, George made us feel welcomed and comfortable. He took the time to understand our needs and preferences, and he was very patient in answering all of our questions. George's knowledge of the various appliances was exceptional, and he was able to provide us with detailed information about each product, including their features, benefits, and drawbacks. He also took the time to explain the differences between various models and brands, which helped us make an informed decision. What really stood out to us was George's customer service. He was not pushy or aggressive in his approach, but rather took a consultative approach, which made us feel like he had our best interests at heart. He was always available to answer our questions and was very responsive to our needs. Overall, I would highly recommend working with George. They promised service. They end up destroying our floor our wall and never really set up the refrigerator correctly when they first delivered it, they promise to make it right and they never did and then called us liars. They destroyed 100 year old wood floor, the threshold, dented the Brick wall the delivery people never unwrapped the refrigerator set up the water did the hook ups or leveled the refrigerator. Howards said that they refuse to reimburse us for any of the damage. They sent another team after we unwrapped the refrigerator but they hooked up the water and then left us standing to do all the repairs on her own. After almost 9 months of them saying we had to give them more evidence we sent them photos we sent them estimates and they still called us liars and refused to do anything after saying they would repair it. The service was extremely poor. The value of their delivery service was awful, and they never reimbursed us. The worst part is they made us do a lot of jumping through their fiery hoops and then kept on lying and ultimately threw us under the bus I would never recommend them. I had a very disappointing experience with Howard's Appliances from start to finish. The sales process was unethical and frustrating. I felt pressured and misled during the purchase, which already started things off poorly. The delivery was even worse. The delivery team attempted to install the water line for the refrigerator but clearly had no idea what they were doing. They made a mess while troubleshooting the installation and falsely claimed that there was an issue with my water valve -- which turned out to be completely fine. I, as the homeowner, had to step in and complete the installation myself, which is absolutely unacceptable. To make things worse, the haul-away of the old refrigerator was delayed, adding further inconvenience to an already terrible experience. When they finally came back, the process was careless and unprofessional. This is not the level of service I expected from a well-known store. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves both their sales practices and delivery/install team training. I cannot recommend Howard's based on this experience. read more

*** WOW *** When I wrote about my ongoing terrible experience with Howard's, the Manager of the Irvine store Matt Horwitz immediately contacted me, apologized for what had happened (even though it was not his fault mind you --he is the Manager of the Irvine store, not the Laguna Hills store), AND HE STEPPED IN, TOOK CARE OF ALL THE TERRIBLE PROBLEMS WE WERE HAVING WITH THE LAGUNA HILLS STORE, AND HAD OUR NEW REFRIGERATOR DELIVERED --- PRE INSPECTED BY THE WHAREHOUSE MANAGER TO INSURE THAT IT WASNT DAMAGED --- THE NEXT DAY!!!! He was amazinging kind, very concerned about what had happened to us, wanted to let us know that Howard's doesn't operate that way, and made everything come together to resolve it. Thank you Mr. Sharad Patel and Howards TV & Appliance. I went in this morning looking for a new washer and dryer. Mr. Patel greeted me like a brother would. He gave me some excellent choices based on my needs. I then went home, got online to confirm the good deal that was offered. I went back and the deal was even better than I thought with a great Whirlpool combo. I even received 0% financing ... winning! Mr. Patel is one of those gems that companies can only hope to have as an employee. After asking, he told me he has been with Howard's for 16 years. That's loyal. I could tell he loves his job. He was very informed, professional, and polite, just being a very nice man making my purchase experience a 5 Star+ experience. Thank you Howards and thank you Sharad. My wife needs a soft mattress while I need a firm mattress. To our surprise, we tested a mattress at Howard's that seemed to fit both our needs. We got a good price and set up delivery for 7 weeks out. It was delivered to our new apartment and left in the packaging and we signed for it. Later that night, we put our frame together and put the mattress on top - hard as a rock. They delivered us an extra firm mattress. This wasn't even close to the one we tested in store. We called 2 days later and we were told we had to speak with our salesman. We left 2 messages for George, but never got a callback. I showed up the next day in store and was told their was no manager or supervisor on duty at 6:00pm. I was given the Asst. Mngr. business card and I called and left a message for him. 2 hours later I get a callback and Nareen pretty much says I am out of luck because I didn't buy the protective cover through them (which was way overpriced). read more

As we were constructing an ADU in our backyard, we were in the need for appliances (i.e., washer/dryer, range, dishwasher, microwave, etc.). Although we looked at the usual places (i.e., BestBuy, Home Depot, Lowes, etc.), we remembered that Howard's was in our backyard and usually had good prices. We ended up visiting the new Tustin location during a customer appreciation event. David Yousefi advised us of our options, the good, the bad, and recommendations on which was a good buy and which we could likely stay away from. He was very knowledgeable and patient in answering ALL our questions. Not only did we save hundreds of dollars by purchasing most of our appliances at Howard's, because of the event, they also gave us free In & Out burgers for the entire family! Big win in our book! My family and I went in search of a new refrigerator and a washer/dryer unit. David was extremely helpful and patient with us. He showed us a variety of refrigerators and fully explained all of the features. He really cared about having us choose the refrigerator that really fit our needs and wants. We spent quite a while trying to make up our minds, and he waited for us with a positive attitude. His manager, Dino, was also very helpful and also very patient. They both helped us go home with our new appliances and had them delivered the next day! We did have one issue with our refrigerator delivery, but Dino was such a great help and had our brand new refrigerator delivered soon after. My family and I are very happy with our new appliances. I purchased a Samsung Smart TV from Howards over a year ago and from the start, the TV started having problems. I had warranty service done it a total of 4 times. I went back to Howards and a Sales Rep by the name of Gary P. listened to my story about my problems and started making phone calls to various people about the "lemon" TV I ended up purchasing. To make a very long story short, Samsung finally agreed that my TV was unrepairable and replaced it with a comparable 60 inch TV. Bottomline is that if Howards didn't step up and support me, I would have had to purchase a new TV instead of being given a new replacement. I can't say enough good things about Howards excellent Customer Service even if the problem really isn't their problem. Gary P. went far beyond the extra mile to help me. I just hung up the phone after a most rewarding exchange and order placement with a wonderful young sales person at the Irvine Howard's Appliance Store. His name was Robert. Robert was able to find the dishwasher I wanted to order and to follow Howard's marketing procedures by giving me the same price as their competitors. He did so without any hassle. He also was very knowledgable about the Repair and Replacement Insurance Policies and was able to reciting the content of the policies without making me feel pressured to buy it. He went out of his way to assure the dishwasher would be delivered to the installers so I will be able to have it before the Christmas Holiday. Hello i am from germany ,and i buy all my stuff from the store in irvine ,,,,,i am very very happy because we finde all what we need for a very good price!!!! When i live in irvine i buy on lowes all what i need ,and jose the guy what work on the area with drayer he help me and my fam .all time i am with my fam.back to germany and i never firget the gay what help me soooooo mutch. We had our dryer do out in the midst of the whole pandemic thing ... inconvenient to say the least. We have been going to Howard's in Irvine for over 20 years and have always had a very positive, courteous and great experiences with them. Their pricing has always been excellent Today was no different ... we called Howard's in Irvine and spoke with John Haggerty, the manager. He was extremely helpful. 20 minutes later, we had a new dryer purchased, delivery and installation confirmed for the next day and at a price that was better than Home Depot, Lowe's and several other appliance stores we had looked at. We have had similar experience with Howard's service and warranties on the few occasions we have needed them. George gave us space to roam the store and when we were ready with our questions, he helped us compare the features of each appliance that would best fit our needs. We never felt pressured to buy anything, in fact, when we told him we would need more time, he simply handed his business and told us to call or email when we were ready! He thanked us for stopping in and told us to stay safe during this pandemic. This is my second set of large purchases from Howard's in Irvine. I worked with both David and Lee over the course of 2-weeks, while I decided all of the appliances for our new home (including comparison pricing from competing stores). I went with Thermador for oven, stovetop, microwave and dishwasher. All great products and was able to take advantage of manufacturer and store promos for great savings. David was especially helpful in keeping me updated with changes, electronic copies of manuals, and other assistance. While I did have challenges with the initial delivery, the Howard's team, including store manager, promptly address my concerns to my satisfaction, I highly recommend Howards to anyone shopping for quality brands at very competitive pricing. read more

Excellent selection of washers & dryers and dishwashers. We received immediate attention the second we walked in the door. Our salesperson Jad was friendly and showed us the benefits of a brand we didn't know much about. He was a knowledgeable but not pushy and he understood that we wanted to take a day to think about our purchase. When we came back the next afternoon, he put the transaction together seamlessly and made sure every detail was correct. Just a great amount of personal attention to our purchase and to making sure it was correctly input and that we understood all the components.
