So on Thanksgiving day our 10-year-old Bosch dishwasher decides it is time to retire and gives up with an "E 15" error. As a result my wife and I were forced into urgent Black Friday shopping. First stop was the national hardware chain store where the salesperson was nice, but basically knew nothing about the differences between machines or their features. We then went next door to Howard's where Dino Silva jumped right on the case (without being overly aggressive), carefully questioned us to determine our goals and priorities, and suggested several alternatives that fit with what we were looking for. Really knew his stuff, and was willing to give honest opinions when asked. Purchased a nice Miele (complete with rebate and warranty extension promos) and scheduled the delivery and full install (including haul-away) for the following Monday. Their install company called on Sunday, gave us a 3-hr time window, showed up on-time with all necessary parts and equipment, and cleanly completed the hook-up job. I asked her if she's on commission and she said yes, so I decided since she was pleasant and so helpful not to waste time and pay for everything and not go elsewhere! When I was paying she told me the gas range is not in stock until the end of September but she's going to try hard to get it for me sooner and she will call me in a few days, but she never called me and I called back twice and once left a voicemail for her and another time with her manager Rudy and still no call back. Had a great experiences at Howard's! We were in need of a fridge and weren't sure exactly where to start looking to find a fair deal - and we didn't want to go to the usual places like Home Depot, Lowe's, Best Buy, at least not to start. We did a quick google search for places open that day (it was. Sunday afternoon) with the goal of window shopping and then visiting more businesses during the week when other stores were open. We weren't planning on making a decision but more scoping out what prices were and seeing different styles. The staff was very friendly when we arrived, attentive but not super pushy. We spoke with Dawn who was able to guide us to a variety of fridges that could work at our rental property and was able to help make recommendations based on the photos of the rental property. She was kind and again, gave us space to explore on our own, checking in once in a while to see if we had questions. I personally appreciated that more hands-off approach rather than a pushy sales experience. She was able to share a fun discount deal for a fridge that we weren't initially considering, but the extended holiday discount was too good to pass up! We were easily able to set up financing (a variety of options to consider) and arrange for free delivery/installation very conveniently. Looking forward to getting our fridge next week! read more

DO NOT BUY YOUR APPLIANCES HERE!! This has been the worst experience we have ever had buying appliances. We recently returned to Howard's to purchase all new appliances for our home as we were moving. We previously used Howard's and had a great experience and great service. Our salesman, Alexis was the worst salesperson I have ever dealt with. We spent more than $10,000.00 on appliances. Part of our purchase was to buy an oven/microwave combo. The LG oven on the floor model was the higher end, and I asked what is the difference between this oven and the oven we are considering. He said the only difference was the "sous vide". NOT TRUE. The whole control panel does not light up on the oven we received. We did not know this until they installed it. Their install crew was rude and "sub par". They tried to charge me an extra $150.00 to install the cooktop saying they didn't have the gas hose. This was on Day 7 from the delivery date. I called Howard's store immediately and advised that this oven was not going to work. Of course, by the time they called me it was Monday and they were "past their 7 day return policy". Are you kidding me?? I went into the store and the Manager Rudy, avoided me and only had Alexis talk to me who said "we are working on it" but that they would not take it back, so basically I had to live with the oven. After going into the store at least 5 times and being avoided, I met Dawn. She helped and called corporate. They finally agreed to take the oven back in exchange for a new oven but only if I paid a $575.00 restocking fee and another $240.00 re-installation fee!!!! I agreed to it because it was either that or I was stuck with an oven that we could not read. I was not allowed to use the new oven until the other new oven was delivered. Three weeks later, I was advised that the oven was delayed and it could be at least another month or two. Meanwhile i contacted the corporate office and was called by Vincent who also was helpful. Vincent was able to get me the "Floor Model" and I got my oven. We also ordered a Range Hood. Although we gave measurements, the first one was delivered and was the wrong one, it would not fit. Alexis then spent a week trying to figure out what we needed. Then ordered another one. When the install was set up, he had ordered the wrong size (36 inch instead of 30 inch). They took that one back (second order). Then when the correct size was ordered, he then contacted me to advise that it was backordered and we would not receive it for another month or so. This was more than 2 months after our original order date. I cancelled the order and went and ordered at Best Buy. The order was installed perfectly in a week and a half. Meanwhile, it took 2 calls to find out where my refund was and low and behold, Alexis had not processed my refund until I called and complain 2 weeks later. Again, it just kept going!! Meanwhile, their "price match" is sold via "Rebates" from the manufacturers. Some of the appliances they sold us did not qualify. So our rebates were less. So basically, with the extra $575.00 restocking fee (which is B.S.) and another $240.00 reinstallation fee, and the smaller rebates, my appliances ended up costing an additional $1000.00 rather than matching other prices. The aggravation that we had for more than 2-1/2 months was horrendous. Don't shop there, they don't help and are not customer service oriented. read more

I purchased a Thermador refrigerator from Howards and an extended warranty of five years. The motor failed 17 months later. The first repair person fixed it for a period of 24 hours. The second repair person indicated that it needed a new motor. The motor is on back order and 'may' be available in two more months. I have already been without a refrigerator for two months and it will be four months before the motor might be available. Howard indicates that this is totally a Thermador issue and will not stand behind their product. I have previously purchased all of my appliances from Howard's but will never be back. If your appliance works then Howard's is fine but purchase a lemon from Howard's and you will be out of luck. read more

My family is in the process of buying a new condo and we went in to Howard's to look around at a few things. A young man named Jad helped us with some questions I had regarding refrigerators, washer/dryers and beds. We weren't ready to buy since we still had not closed escrow but Jad advised they had a pretty lengthy Memorial Day sale going on and we had maybe a week and a half to purchase, and as long as we didn't have it delivered before escrow closed we could cancel outright if we failed to get the condo. We went back the Saturday before Memorial Day and saw Jad when we walked in the store. We had done some other shopping at Mattress Firm, Home Depot and Best Buy so we were looking for a specific refrigerator and we had found beds we liked. Jad offered to match the refrigerator we wanted, deliver and install it for free and after finding 2 beds with remote control bases he took what was already a discounted holiday price on the beds and took another $400 off of each and received free delivery. Jad was helpful, knowledgeable, easy to speak with and determined to get us a great deal. I can't say enough good things about Jad and the team at Howard's. It's not the first time we bought there and it won't be the last. read more

Customer service is deplorable at all levels -- in store, on the phone, via email. We had great service at the time of purchase but issues came up immediately with availability, scheduling delivery, receiving an incomplete order and now trying to get the last item ($4k refrigerator). Communication and follow up are non-existent. Salespeople say they will call you back but they don't. And the worst part is that we paid for our appliances in full and yet have not received every item. Amazon doesn't do that. Usually you pay when items are shipped. Multiple stainless steel appliances purchased on a 4th of July sale a few yrs ago for our new home. 1- A KitchenAid Built-in fridge: took them three 4 hour visits to finally repair. 2-A Kitchen Aid dishwasher that the plastic wheels keep breaking to this date. 3- Electrolux dryer: the techs couldn't figure out why it s not drying until I opened it up myself and found a huge hole in the suction fan area. Not to mention other problems with the dryer such as motor and belt burned because of accumulated fuzz. 4- Electrolux washer: the idiot morons who delivered it left it running with the manual inside. I called them back to clean the shit they left behind. They were upset at me. 5- And finally, a Broan stove hood: The filters suddenly fall on top of pots and pans while cooking because of cheep plastic studs. Replacement parts are as bad. These guys know their product! Best experience every time I go to Howard's as no other retailer can match their depth of product, price point and professional product personnel. Today we had the fortune of having PEIMAN SOBHANI to assist us with buying a bed mattress. He knew all the product features that helped us make our decision to purchase while in the store. We also are shopping for a new stove top for our desert house, and he knew this product as well. I would have bought today, but need to do some additional measurements of the existing stove top. I will be back. From a prior visit, I understand that Howard's doesn't pay a commission so there is no hint of sales pressure. Even better, the employees are on profit sharing therefore giving them a great opportunity to own part of the business. What a fabulous experience buying from, and having an install team, put in our replacement cooktop! We had to get a duplicate as the kitchen remodeling was basically completed, but then we discovered the KitchenAid cooktop needed replacing and was nearly unavailable everywhere around the country. Howard's sales guy, David Yousefi at the Irvine store, not only had one for us, he helped us fast-track the transaction, and scheduled the install which happened today. David's help and followup was great. An even brighter spot in this adventure was the quality of the installation team they sent out. They were absolutely first-class ... and I don't say that lightly. Having moved from Minnesota (where service is very good) to California three years ago, I've mostly been disappointed with service all around. But not today!! This review is based solely on David, the assistant manager who helped us purchase a built in fridge. We bought a built in fridge in late December 2021 when the store had a promotion where you can get the sales tax rebated. David told us that the fridge should be delivered around mid-February 2022 and also said to go to www.howardspromotions.com to get the rebate. In the meantime, I put a small down payment with the intention to pay off the remaining balance when the fridge is delivered to me (I wanted to do a quality check on it before I paid in full). Mid-February comes by and no fridge (which I totally understand because there's a supply chain disruption), but I never received a call/notification about any updates. I called the store and the employee told me it should come in mid-March. Mid-March comes by and still no fridge. I called the store again to ask for an update and they said Mid-April or first week of May. First week of May passes by and still no fridge, which I completely understand because of the supply chain disruption. On the evening of Wednesday, May 11th, I got a voicemail from David saying that the fridge is ready for delivery. I called the store 30 minutes after receiving the voicemail and the employee told me that David left for the day. On Thursday, May 12th, I was able to get a hold of David. He said "I tried calling you multiple times and even emailed you about the fridge, but didn't get a response." I checked my phone log and email inbox (including SPAM) and I didn't see anything. He also told me "Before the delivery guys come to your place, can you go to Home Depot to buy a waterline for the fridge?" I thought this was really weird when I PURCHASED the waterline with the fridge back in late December 2021. At the end of the phone call, David said "I can't deliver the fridge to you until you pay the remaining balance." which I did afterwards. Later that night, I went to www.howardspromotions.com to claim my sales rebate only to find out that there was a 60 day window from the invoice date to claim it. I was NOT aware nor was I informed by David about this. I emailed him about it and his response (copied and pasted) was "You are correct since we never paid the invoice in full you could not claim the sales tax. It is too late to claim the sales tax not sure why you did not pay fully for invoice earlier to take advantage of the sales tax." I AM FURIOUS! I replied back to his email asking if there's anything the store can do, but no response. Saturday, May 14th, the fridge was delivered WITH the waterline, but unfortunately the fridge did not fit with our custom cabinetry. The delivery guys told us that they can set the fridge aside until we get our cabinet person to modify the area so the fridge can fit. Once it's done, we needed to call the store to schedule an install. We got our cabinetry modified and I called the store on Wednesday, May 18th. The employee told me that it was David's day off and that he should call me the following day. Thursday, May 19th, I never received a call from David, so I called the store at 2:37pm and no one picked up. The call eventually went to a corporate customer service rep who told me she would email David to return my call. A few hours pass by and I never received a call, so I tried calling again at 5:23pm. An employee picked up and told me David was currently busy with a customer, but will call me back afterwards. NO PHONE CALL AT ALL! David has not responded to my follow up email regarding the sales tax rebate, lied to me about calling/emailing me previously, asked me to go purchase a waterline when I already BOUGHT one with the fridge, and has not returned any of my phone calls so that I can schedule an install for my fridge. This is THE WORST customer service I have ever experienced! I truly believe David did not care about the customer service after he got his commission paycheck. I would NOT recommend going through David if you decide to purchase anything from this store location. His customer service is ATROCIOUS! read more

Good experience here purchasing 4 new appliances. Price was comparable (maybe very slightly less) across other big box stores but the reason I keep coming back to Howard's is their customer service. George Moawad helped us this time and I can't say enough positive things about him. He was helpful and knowledgeable about the appliances but more importantly genuinely cares about his customers and what fits their needs.
