While there are places on the internet one can get quality systems from, I'm a hands on person so I like to go in, check out computers and talk to people while customizing. Moreover, I like to walk around and Micro Center appeals to my inner nerd. So, what does Microcenter offer, well lots of computers, accessories and everything an aspiring nerd needs to enter the digital world in style. If you're a graphical artist, they have drawing tables and stylist, musically inclined they have adapters to cover that too along with software but I encourage research or talking to a sales rep before buying. How about that keyboard that fits those tired hands? I see a dozen options before we even get into the backlit keyboards. Mice with over 20 buttons for those hardcore gamers will also tempt you. How about a laptop for computing on the go? Well that "buying best" place can only dream of as many options. As for me, while I've built my computer before I decided to let MicroCenter take care of it. The installation cost was low and I was able to build my "super computer" for cheap, a warranty and it was done within three days. What was a lot of fun is the saleman and I talked for about 45 minutes about World of Warcraft b/c he's a player as well. Although he did try and sell me a monitor however I have that covered. I did browse the TV section out of curiosity and noticed their prices and inventory are competitive with other stores as well. I'll admit, I love this place and it's my first option when I need a computer. I like talking to people and discussing options rather than grabbing it off a website. Micro Center has an informed sales staff, a lot of inventory and competitive prices for everything you may need, including phones! My PC has been shutting off and on me for like 2 years now. I brought it in multiple times for the PC randomly shutting off. I left for work out of state, (approximately 6/1/24) for a bit and come back and after summer to resolve the issue and was told my warranty has expired even when they knew there is a problem that wasn't resolved from before. So I have struggled on using the PC for only very light tasks, no real gaming. Now it won't even boot into Windows. So I get industrious and take the heatsink off and find the sticker on the heatsink wasn't taken off when I had overland Park microcenter build the PC for me. What a joke!!! They have a great selection of in stock filament for 3D printing, and so many other home computer equipment options, like monitors, CPUs, and laptops. They have a full variety of keyboards, mice, speakers, cabling, headsets, gaming options etc. If you need something in a hurry, this is the place to go. Their prices are very competitive to what you can find online most of the time, and you have the out of bonus of being able to get it right away. The staff is always knowledgeable and courteous, but be aware during peak times the line can get very long but moves quickly. read more

I took my computer to the "Knowledge Bar" for help figuring out why what I thought was MS Edge was starting automatically every time I started my computer or awakened it from sleep mode. A tech named Patrick quickly diagnosed that it was not Edge but another bogus browser that was starting automatically. He updated my startup settings and uninstalled the offending bogus browser for me. He was very professional and courteous. I highly recommend Micro Center for computer services. read more

Brought my computer in that crashed after a windows update on 6.2.2023. It is now 6.13.2023 and not a single update. I went in on 6.9.2023 and asked about it, waited 15 minutes for them to tell me it's still being diagnosed and someone will contact me soon, still not a single word, no updated notes on my order or anything. They're just extremely disorganized. They are supposed to give same day service, that's a lie. Was told initially it would be a week and well, I'm running into 2 weeks. Our business purchases a ton of computers and monitors/accessories yearly from MicroCenter and have always been satisfied with their service. I tend to only run in to the Online Pickup desk, but their employees always acknowledge me along with the manager. That's what has kept our business coming back and away from Amazon online type vendors whenever possible. There is never a shortage of employee's on the clock and the managers always step in to keep the lines moving. Perfect example of a well oiled machine. That being said, we had a few issues in the past with "Open Boxes". When you purchase in that state though you must be prepared for something to be wrong of faulty with the product. We decided as a company to just always purchase new and not Open Box again, problem solved! read more

I have been visiting this Micro Center since I was a kid and still love shopping here even if I don't always buy something. Micro Center has a great selection of everything related to computers, video games, video/audio, and even Lego. They continue to evolve with newer tech and always have newer/trendy items available. When we visited recently, they had most of their 3D printers up and actually running so people could see them in action. A few associates asked us if we needed assistance which has always been a common occurrence here. I am glad Micro Center has weathered the storm of staying in business and continues to serve the area! I definitely prefer shopping here compared to the big box tech stores. read more

Worst customer service ever. I made an appointment online to drop off my Apple Watch, the check in kiosk apparently doesn't work if you do online appointments. I was ignored by the staff and they let 3 people go ahead of me even though I had been standing there waiting for TWENTY MINUTES. After finally talking to someone I was told they don't even do apple repair despite advertising that online. I gave Micro Center four stars because some of the junior sales staff can be a little too persistent, even going so far as to chase me down to get their sales credit sticker on my merchandise. Or four sales people will accost me in the same isle within two minutes. Some of them will even linger even after I politely decline their assistance. I go to Micro Center to shop--not to play hide and seek. Really wish they handed out "No Thank You" stickers at the door. But Bob G. makes it a full five star experience for me. Bob is always professional and he knows exactly where to find what I am looking no matter where it is in the store. He genuinely wants to help and is not just looking to make a sale. I will go so far as to plan my shopping trips according to Bob's schedule. I used to purchase from Computer Warehouse, CDW as well as other sorta big stores back in the day. Now with Circuit City gone, Tiger Direct folded, and CDW tailor made for overcharge businesses I feel like MC is the only one keeping the light on for me to spend my hard earned money. They have what I need, and sometimes what I don't need and buy anyway. The sales people are professionals and at the same time understand what we do at the store.
