Deciding to do a review here after shopping for a consistent 3-4 months for groceries. I wanted to get a good feel for it. I did not grow up shopping at target weekly so it is definitely a different experience than walmart. First of all, this target is clean!!! There are not random items laying around, nothing on the floor, and good organization overall. I like this target because they have a lot of clearance items on food/pastries/hygiene/cleaning products. The clearance signs are easy to find and include good everyday products. The app doesn't always align with the price given, so i appreciate the price scanners located in the store. I do not interact with a ton of the employees because I usually do self checkout but the employees at self checkout are always kind. They have a lot of workers!! Sometimes there is a worker on almost every aisle restocking things. The prices are reasonable, especially with the app. I find that my grocery bills are cheaper here than other stores for sure. read more

One place that will always dominate any neighborhood besides that other depressing behemoth store is Target. A huge sprawling parking lot with enough space under one roof to get in a mile of walking, if one were so compelled. This brings me to Target in Overland Park. Located in a safe and extremely close to most major roads and the interstate, almost anything you need since it's a Super Target. They do have a few employees walking around however you might have to hunt a bit to get them. However once you do, they're extremely willing to assist and friendly. Finally the place is always clean and well stocked with inventory so that's a huge bonus. Most items like pet food and accessories are in abundance, hardware and housing goods have most of what someone needs and the kitchen section has a lot of average equipment to great stuff depending on what you need. For example, the knife selection is horrible but mixers are just as good as anywhere else. I do all of my vitamin and specialty medicine (not prescription) from Target as it's the cheapest. If you're shopping for clothing, they do a pretty good job of maintaining many different sizes and keeping the clothes in their proper racks. Many other stores you can find the clothes just thrown about. The seasonal selection is decent but runs out pretty quick as they like to get the items in early, then restock only a few times, allowing it to run out well before the holiday. As for the food, it has what one has come to expect from Target, average products at a low cost however when it comes to fruit and veggies, they're much better than "mart" place of a "wall". The baked and homemade food items are average but better than that other "blue" store! They do have a pretty good bakery and they're the only one that sells Boston Cream Pie!!! I've also found they're the best for toys as I when I take my kids they have all most popular items and in bulk. So, if you want that GI Joe action figure, you probably will find it here. As for electronics, they have most of the newest gaming consoles, games and controllers however 4k media is limited, but that's a standard among all stores now as physical media continues to be replaced by inferior forms of content like streaming. Overall, Target is exactly what you expect anywhere and that's by design. The only real differences are subtle things that regionally might sell better at one place then another state won't offer a product as it won't make sense. Think of a heavy winter coat for sale in Texas - it isn't needed. Other than those items, it's Target so you already know what you want. This is the best Target around and will definitely save you trips to other stores. read more

I'm not sure what's in the air at Target these days but I keep having very mid experiences and I'm trying so hard to enjoy shopping here again. On my most recent visit I had a coupon for a free Wondershop ornament but my code wasn't working at self checkout. The employee at the self checkout station wasn't really helpful at all and at the end of the day just told me I had to pay for it and then go over to customer service to see if they could take it off. This was super frustrating since I'd already wasted a ton of time chatting with her about it before it even hit my credit card. Regardless I ended up at customer service in yet another super long line with only one person working. She was able to help me, but I felt silly going through all these hoops for a discounted ornament that was one of their promotional offers. Aside from that experience here, this is a very standard Target - I hope the company puts some thought into their brick and mortar stores and can turn them around a bit as I do need a store like this around that is decent to shop at. read more

look, the employees that are allowed to have jobs are wonderful. This is review is not about them. Its about the Execs making the decisions for the brand as a whole. Your store sucks now. Not just this location, all of them. You cut staffing to save money, you only keep 3 self checks open to save money. You let your freezer and cooler get so worn down that they break (I suppose you thought that would save money). I regularly feel frustrated and annoying being in your store. The fact that another customer who was a complete stranger to me struck up a conversation with me about how much we hate shopping here is crazy. We were both on our way to put back our items because at 4pm on a Tuesday there was only 3 self checks open and a long line. Oh yeah, publicly endorsing the hatred of minorities is also disgusting. Why would I want to give money to this place? That money is going to the racists at the top and not the understaffed, over worked employees who deserve it. read more

Fantastic place to get quite a variety of items for the nearby hotel! I rate 5 stars in my short visit to this store...the cashier was super nice that I dealt with. All workers I saw were smiling and willing to assist! Even saw 3 managers with tablets having a meeting and interacted with my 2 daughters.. made me smile. Definitely a hopping place for nearby occupants. Prices were not extreme.... a must stop when we return. Great experience! It was my first time there. I didn't know about this location, which is a shame because it's a Super Target. It looks very large but organized. The parking lot was also large as well. That means plenty of parking. I went in there just for a return of an online order. There were several people in line before me, so I thought it was going to take awhile. There was just one gentleman taking care of the service desk at this time as well. To my surprise, he was very efficient yet friendly and helpful. A couple in front of me had questions and he was able to resolve whatever issues they had quickly and they seemed satisfied with the way he handle it. When it got to me he was the same. He took care of my return very quickly and he was very courteous. That is definitely great customer service right there. I'm so glad I found this Super Target location and will be back frequently. read more

This store is fine, it's the customer service I'm worried about. I called to ask a few questions on a department. Once I found the right place it rung for a little bit, then I got an answer. Got immediately hung up on, I don't know why. I'm not saying it's their fault, maybe we lost connection or something, but I heard the phone hit the receiver and hang up. I tried calling another store, but they didn't have the answer to my questions because they didn't have the items I was looking for, only this store in my area did. Never going back- No Stars if I could. Shopped here weekly due to location. Never had returned any items, however yesterday took back two small plastic storage containers as drawer size. Took 3 long receipt's However not on those. Was told since "No Receipt" needed id, then was told that I supposedly had returned items prior w/o receipt. Never have!!! Said just wanted store credit as I had a-lot to purchase today. Told only would receive credit for one. And I should have family member return second one with different ID????? What?!! Asked to speak to manager as We spend hundreds of dollars monthly in the store, and that was ridiculous. Finally a mgr named Jason also refused to give me credit for both items. Do not understand how their records show previous returns when never happened and as an honest senior citizen was insulted.However Jason still refused to credit my $16.00! So, I asked, you will lose a customer who shops here regularly and lose $$$ because you incorrectly "think" I returned things prior. He said store policy?? So picked up a couple important pharmacy items. Instead of spending a couple hundred. Showed Jason on way out door and told him I will NEVER come back!!!! Usually only one human to checkout, so I have to scan items myself, machine act up, long lines, and over last year finally found items after many steps in store as employees no where in sight. With all the recent news cannot believe way I was treated. by both employees. So Goodbye Target! Will spend my money elsewhere. Told Jason to just keep them!! This target is great! It's a super target so it has everything you need: optometrist, photographer, grocery, Starbucks. It has it all. And now they've got self checkout at both ends! I've noticed lately that on the weekends when there are usually a lot of people here, that there are never more than about 3 (out of like 20) registers open, which is so ridiculous. Yes, I could go to a self-check out but you cannot easily use a gift card at one, as you manually have to type in the number that is under the scratch-off part. Even then, it sometimes doesn't work at self-checkout, especially when you may have to use two giftcards. Today I had 1 item to buy and the lines were long at each register, with people whose carts were completely full. So you can only imagine my irritation with this place! Does Target need another review? Probably not but this has to be my favorite location in the metro! It's huge, clean, and well stocked with friendly employees. I often make the twenty minute drive to this location even though there is a smaller Target close to my home. I love that they have added more self check out stations and that they have a dedicated employee to assist you if a problem comes up during check out. read more

So many awful incidents happened at this target. First, I go there searching for a waterproof speaker. The target employee in the electronics department lied to me by selling me a 200 dollar speaker saying it was waterproof. I keep the speaker in its package for a month. Then I open it. In big red letters on the instruction Manuel it says, "do not let this speaker come into contact with water. Very important." So I take the speaker back to the target. The manager says, "you have had this speaker for over 60 days. You cAnnot return it. Go sell it on eBay." She didn't care to know which employee lied to me. The second incident is when I tried getting a new phone plan at target. They sold me a phone plan with Verizon that offered me very little data. Not knowing this plan gave little data, I got the plan. Before you know it I am paying 500 dollars a month because of data overages. The third incident is trying to get a job at target. They were so disorganized, they kept calling me saying they lost email or emailing me saying they lost my phone number. This happened again and again until they stopped calling. Target sucks. It's chief executive officer sucks. Fuck you target. read more

Very disappointed with the bakery. We ordered a cake for our daughter's first birthday, it was a sheet cake with Minnie Mouse print. Upon picking up the cake, I noticed the figures weren't assembled and placed on the cake, which on previous orders we picked up cakes fully put together. Once I got the cake home I opened it and realized there was a big split between the image where it should have been placed together. There was only one figurine, which I thought when we ordered the cake there were a few figurines on the cake. The worst though, was when everyone was eating the cake, the image was coming off and was near inedible, people were scraping it off their pieces of cake. I don't know why this happened? Just very disappointed, we ordered it a month before our daughter's party and it seemed like they put it together in 20 minutes. read more

Can't stand the people in Walmart? Target is the place to go! Sure you pay a hint more but you feel better about life when you leave. Whenever I walk into Walmart I feel dirty. Everything about it is nasty. Target provides a clean, upbeat environment with people who won't try to rob you at gun point. My last trip to Target: I parked close to the front door. Walked in, grabbed what I needed and went to go check out. I used the self check which was seamless. My total time in & out was 3 minutes. Wow. As a newly diagnosed gluten intolerant person, I was absolutely blown away by the sheer number of gluten free and organic groceries at this location. I usually shop at places like whole foods and trader joes, but after shopping here, my mind has opened and inspired to cook more foods at home!!! The same brands I have seen at whole foods or similar stores are 33-50% less here!!! The freezer section alone inspired me with the possibilities of eating guilt free gluten free lunches at work which are inexpensive and super quick. I could not believe the selection available, not only frozen foods, but also gluten free pasta, gluten free chicken strips, and the giant spread of lactose free milks! My goodness, I have to say, my reservations regarding Target stores have been singlehandedly overturn by this store. I will be a customer as long as I live here. read more

I'm slightly embarrassed to be broadcasting this, but this review is specific to the sickos (including myself) that went to Target at 9:00pm on Thanksgiving night. We had Thanksgiving dinner, played some basketball, watched Elf, and by 8:30pm had run out of entertainment. My wife suggested we just "swing by" Target and check out their specials. I've never participated in Black Friday, but thought it sounded like a decent idea. As we pulled up to Target at 9:02pm my jaw hit the floor. Pretty much EVERY parking space in the lot was full. There was a line across the front of the store, around the side, and half way around the back of the store. What time did the guy in the front of the line get there?!?!?!?!?! When I saw that I was fine with turning around and going home, but I didn't want to be Debbie Downer so I went with it. By the time we got a parking spot and made it to the back of the line the doors opened and the line was moving....FAST. I wanted a Sony iPhone speaker for my bedroom (normally $80, Black Thursday price $39.99) so we went to the electronics section with about 4,769 other shoppers. Found a guy and he said the Sony speaker was in the clothing department. But of course it is! Once I thought about it I was actually happy because there was no way we were getting any deeper into the electronic section. We ended up finding everything we wanted, just had to check out. They were directing everyone to the food side of the store to check out. Turns out the line started half way into the food department and you snaked through those aisles to get to the front. Didn't take too long because for the first time EVER they had all 35 lanes open, not just 3. All in all it was very well organized based on the volume of people stuffed in there. Didn't see any fights, no foul language, no psychotic soccer moms beating someone with a toilet brush for the last Furbie. read more

A few weeks ago I was on a mad search for Ninja Turtles partyware--I think I was just a touch ahead of the new Ninja Turtles fad because there are Ninja Turtle things everywhere now (again). Anyway, I searched Party City and two other Targets before walking into this store. When I asked if they had plates, cups and some trinket like tattoos or masks the manager in the video game section (sorry I missed her name!) personally searched the aisle they should have been and called the stockroom to look them. When she came up empty she searched of all the Targets in the area for me, wrote down how much they had in stock of each item at each Target, and gave me directions to the stores since I'm the last person on earth who doesn't have GPS. She also called up the store I was most likely going to go to and told them to expect me in a few minutes and to pull out the merchandise for me. Awesome customer service. And it's Target. Yeah, it's a Target. You know the layout, you know the merchandise. This location isn't anywhere near my house, but they have a photo studio, which was the reason for our visit. The photo employees did a great job at staging our little family and making our toddler happy and smiley for holiday photos. I think these may be the best photos of us since our wedding and of the little guy to date. They didn't try and push any additional products on us and were really responsive to our desires to not look like the people featured on awkwardfamilyphotos.com. Of course like all big box stores this place is built on an unsustainable foundation of petroleum products, from the parking lot to the plastic carts to the plastic bags (bring your own, people, come ON), to a good deal of the processed foods and household items, but until peak oil starts to turn society or I flip out and move to a commune, we'll definitely return here for the studio and probably to pick up a few random household items. read more

Living in Westport there is a drive to any stores such as these. I got everything I needed... Oven mitts, nail polish remover, can opener, and a television. I was contemplating driving further to Best Buy, but Nathan changed my mind. He helped me with no pressure. I was deciding on going on a 1080p instead of a 720p, but I also need to spend less $$$. He really eased my tech savvy mind about not getting the 1080p. I knew I didn't need a 40+" 1080p in my apartment... Nathan just helped me actualize it. I don't watch a lot of television, not into blurays or dvds, not into video games, and do not have NFL network. Service was great. He walked me out to the front door making sure I didn't need any help. Said if I needed any help with it to come back and ask for him. This store is almost identical to the Super Target near 119th and Strang Line. I shop at both, as I'm about halfway in between the two stores. It's definitely a version of Walmart with better-designed stuff! Very convenient for all kinds of stuff. The grocery section is pretty good -- pretty wide selection and they carry some very interesting and somewhat unusual items in their store brands, Archer Farms and Market Pantry. I like their New England clam chowder! In the bakery section they carry a package of two dark chocolate/raspberry slices that are very hard to resist! I also noticed a very nice-looking marble rye there the other day. They also carry store-brand lactose-free milk in half-gallons that are much more reasonable than the brand names!
